Says my software is up to date with 6.1.3 after failed 7 update?

So today I went into my software updates and behold IOS 7. I needed 2.9 GB. After finally making enough space I click update YAY. I check back 10 to 15 minutes later and it says "an error occurred while downloading iOS 7" Oook I see many having that issue so no freak out. I go back to software update and now it says my iPhone is up to date with iOS 6.1.3 What the heck? I deleted all my music and like 15 apps to get this update, what now? Also I can't do anything connected to iTunes related because my laptop isn't working in case that comes up.

Try restarting your device, George. iOS 7 came back up after I restarted and I'm trying again.

May just be the update server acting glitchy due all the people slamming it right now. I'd give it 24 hrs, and if it's still doing it, check back in here and we'll see if we can't figure it out.

Not sure what exactly you did (or not), but it looks as if you should attempt doing it all again, only this time all right and by the book. Many millions have done so, and sure it'll work for you as well.
If you've indeed purchased ML already, you'll find it exactly there in the App Store: under Purchases.

Why does it say my software is up to date when I am running OS X 10.7.4 ?

I have just bought this Macbook Pro but when I use the software updater is says my software is up to date, yet I am running 10.7.4
It wont download and install the latest version. How do I get it to update my software to the latest version?

When you say "just bought", when did you buy it? New Macs should come with 10.8; the up-to-date program expired in August, I believe, but it's worth trying to enter your details here:

First make sure you back up to the icloud
Second plug into power
Third keep tryng it will eventually take

build date, and configuration of processor, RAM,

£15 to have a minor OS refresh and bug fix, from a corporation with $$$ in cash in the bank, seems a bit tight to me. Talk about making Microsoft look generous.. sheesh.
I run 10.8 on my MacBook pro and need 10.8 to run the xcode 5 dev tools on my work mac... I thought it would be a simple download, didn't realise we'd have to pay? Frankly the differences are in no way deserving of any price tag!
Apple - try being more generous, people might like you more instead of just resenting every time we have to deal with you. The only fun bit seems to be walking out the door with the shiny new thing.

If you have the original iPad 1, iOS 5.1.1 is as high as you can go with software updates.

Itunes 11.1 is for your computer, not your iphone
It is required in order to sync with ios 7.
