Says restart but when I do it still says it.

I'm new to Macs and I got this 2GHz MacBook for xmas it has been working fine up till last night when i tried to restart my computer but when i did i got a message displayed on my that says "You Need To Restart Your Computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the restart button. I've tried doing what it says but I get the same message every time.
I would appreciate it if someone could help with this problem.

Ok I didn't realise you couldn't do anything.
If you put in your original Mac OSX DVD into the drive and then start the computer with the 'c' key held down, it will boot via the mac OSX DVD instead of the hard drive. Now, instead of using the disk to install OSX, you want to run Disk utility from the DVD. To do this, first select your language from the window that appears (Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility).Choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu (top of the screen)
Then, Click the First Aid tab. Select your Mac OS X volume on the left hand side of the disk utility window.
Click Repair Permissions. Disk Utility checks and repairs file permissions on the disk. You could also repair the disk itself by clicking the 'Repair' button. When both have finished, restart the computer and attempt to boot in the normal way. If it still doesn't work, take it to the apple store.

You can't if you rented and downloaded it on your iPad, you can only watch it on that. From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 :

Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
Does the rental not show in the iPad's Videos app ? You shouldn't need to go via the iTunes store app. -
there is a tick on the changed ringtone but when ringing the phone still the old ringtone is ringing.my phone is iphone 4s

I bought a phone with icloud lock, the find my phone app is off but when I restore it still requires previous owners login details??

The phone is useless to you without the previous owners information. Either get a hold of the owner and get the info or return the phone and get your money back. -
I had firefox months ago but due to computer problems had to remove it but now I can't redownload it because it keeps prompting me to reboot to complete a previous uninstall but when I allow it to it reboots the computer than nothing happens so I try to download again and it still says reboot have rebooted 6 times and it still won't let me download.
yes I am. windows isn't giving me any prompts other than the original one authorizing firefox to run the installation program before the download starts then part way into the download firefox asks me to reboot so the download it starting then it tells me I can't finish the download because I have to reboot because of a previous uninstall that needs to complete so when I reboot it should finish the installation but it doesn't and then when I try the download again I get the same thing again like it's stuck in a loop

I have an iMac that I upgraded from Tiger to Lepoard. I found a brand new power pc g4 1gig never unpacked and tried to use my Lepoard disk to upgrade the os but I get a restart message but when I power down it stays off and when I power up I get the restart message. If I can't upgrade to Lepoard how do I get the computer to eject my Lepoard disk and go back to the os that was on it? Thank you anyone who can advise.
PeaceWhen you power up the computer hold down the click bar on the track pad (or the left click on a mouse) and the computer will eject the disk.

Updates asks me to restart, but when it restarts, the same update is still there
When I go to my app store, it says an update is required for OS10.8.4, I clicked update and said a restart was required. I restarted it and the same update is still shown in my app store update. whenever I click on update, it immediately says to restart the computer, which I do and we go through the same thing again. I can't think what else I need to do.

While that update is downloading open Disk Utility which can be found in Application > Utilities folder. Select your hard drive partition and click 'repair permissions'.
As any OS update can be pretty invasive under the hood and the outcome can be unexpected on a system that is having issues (big or small), a backup is recommended before applying an update -
My son installed a toolbar and I uninstalled it but it didn't disappear. A friend told me if I uninstall firefox and re install it, that the toolbar would be gone. I uninstalled firefox and went to reinstall it and it told me I had to restart to get rid of the old version completely, I restarted my computer and tried to install it again and it keeps coming up with the "you must restart your computer" thing. I have restarted my computer at least 20 times and it keeps happening and I cannot install firefox and its making me mad cause I hate using IE but if I can't figure it out I am going to be forced to use it instead of Firefox :(
If the toolbar installed something into the rest of the system, you will see an entry in the Control Panel in the software uninstall applet which should be removed. You might need to make a new profile if you cannot find an extension that has something to do with the toolbar.

You need to restore the iPhone, not just connect it. If iTunes says that the iPhone needs to be unlocked before it can be restored, put the iPhone into Recovery Mode:

When I try to send a photo to facebook an error message comes up. It says to try again later which I have done several times. The same error message comes up. I have sent photos before and didn't have this problem and don't know why there is one now.
Relaying is when you are using an @xxx.com service but the return address in the email is [email protected] ISPs prevent relaying to stop spam.

Imovie 10 downloaded but when I open it still imovie 6.0.3
I dowloaded Imovie 10 on my new mac pro (OS X 10.9.1) When the download was finished and I tried to open it, the old version was open (6.0.3). The icon is also the old one. I'm missing something?
Look in the HD / Applications folder for iMovie 10.

When I click on "Yes" in response to retart request, computer restarts, but when I try to open Firefox after the restart, the same question box appears. If I check the "no" box in response to the restart question, Firefox won't open

I have a Windows 2003 Server 64-Bit, and when I upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1 now it won't run, it keeps saying to restart the computer to complete the installation, but I've restarted theserver 4 times, and I still can't use it.
I ended up putting it in DFU mode. It's kinda hard to tell it was in DFU mode because nothing showed on the screen, it was just black, but the sounds from the computer helped to tell me it was connected.
Itunes still didn't recognize the device for whatever reason.
So I used redsn0w. I don't know if I can say that on these forums, but considering itunes was worthless at this point I am going to give credit where credit is due.
Now I am giving itunes a second chance to upgrade to 5.1, if it doesn't work, well, back to redsnow and maybe I will even jailbreak it this time rather than just using the fecovery fix found under extras.
