SB 24-bit Live: Audio to speakers and external record

I'm trying to set everything up so that I can record gameplay to later use in movies. Currently the setup is just from the computer out to a VCR. Everything works fine video wise, but I'm unsure how I can setup the Soundblaster 24-bit Li've! External to output to the two sources (Normal speakers, and the VCR to record).

The Admin of one of the Revolt Fan sites says that revolt get error's all the time, because of my creative soundcard. He helped another person with it, and that person had to change moherboard! I am not sure what a motherboard is, but i don't want to change soundcard. This Soundcard Works soo good. Revolt supports EAX, but the admin says that i should turn it off. It will cause file damage/deleting (only in the "levels" folder)? when getting error message. I Am not sure, what he said because it was a month ago i talked about it. And Also: It is not Exactly Revolt that i am getting errors from, but a kind of patch, that RST (as the Adminstrator is named) made for all who wants Extra features and Windows Vista playing. I will ask him about what is going wrong and what that is required to play it with the "Phoenix R3" as the "patch" is called. If you want, i could take screenshots of the settings of my Soundcard and the settings that revolt supports.

  • I find there is a slight delay between my macbook speakers and external speakers connected via Airport Express.  Is there a way to rectify this?  Thanks!

Music plays out of sync between my computer speakers and externally connected throught Airport Express speakers.

Unfortunately, I don't have either a Slingbox or iHome speakers so I won't be able to reproduce any of the issues you are having. With the fact that you live in large apartment complex would still lead me to believe that Wi-Fi interference may be the reason that you are having streaming issues.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like iStumbler, or AirRadar to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible.

  • Audio coming from both TV Speakers and external soundbar - how do I suppress the TV audio output?

Just after my warranty expired, my Toshiba 55TL515U started to play sounds through both the TV's speakers as well as outputting audio to my external Polk Audio soundbar, which is connected to the TV via the Digital Audio Output line. The TV never did this after I connected the external soundbar until a few days ago.
I don't want any sound to come out of the TV speakers, I only want sound to come out of the soundbar. There's a horrible echo effect that occurs when both sound systems are active.
I don't see a setting on any of the TV menus to control this. I would assume that if the TV senses an external audio device, it would no longer output any sound to the TV's speakers.
Is there a setting on the TV I'm missing, or is this something broken within my TV?
I called Polk Audio tech support, and they claim it's not a problem with the soundbar, but with the TV.
If anyone can comment on this, I'd be very thankful.

I have the same problem. When I mute the TV, I get sound only from Soundbar which is fine. But, everytime I turn on my tv, I had to mute my tv. And if I accidently press the volume button on TV, then both TV and Soundbar plays sound and that sucks.

  • Sound Blaster Z Series - Outputting audio on speakers and headphones at same time?

    Hey all,
I got a Zx at the beginning of the year as a gift and really liking it so far. Finally got around to hooking up speakers to it and they sound good, but I wasn't getting any output from them at first. Then I realized you have to switch in the SB control panel between them and the headphones; also downloaded the SBZ Switcher which definitely helps with quick switches.
Question though, is there any way to enable output on both speakers and headphones at the same time? Based on what I've read, the switching is done by a relay in the card so I'm guessing it's impossible for both of them to be engaged at the same time. Though if this was doable, it would be awesome to have outputs for both the channels and configure some software to use one or the other. It'd be nice to listen to music on the speakers while routing other stuff through the headphones. If all else fails, maybe I can get Creative to RMA the Titanium HD that this card replaced and run dual sound cards; that should definitely work =D.
    Cheers and thanks in advance!

Yes, that's right. And I want to switch simply between speakers and headphones. Only one with sound, the other mute. At the moment, when I plug in my headphones, the speakers becomes mute. That's ok, but . I always want to let my headphones connected and 2.1 when I switch sound to the speakers, the sound also comes out of the headphones. It's not possbile to mute the headphones only. There must be a way.

  • Mac mini - built-in speakers and external speakers?

    Hello
Is it possible to use built-in speaker and external speakers the same time?
I have connected Mini to my sound system, but sometimes I listen to the radio and would like to use the built-in speaker.
How can I do such thing without unplugging external speakers?
    Regards
    Przemek

    You can't.
There are 5.1 speaker systems that work with Macs that have built-in SPDIF ports:

(the M-Audio link on this tip is to a no longer available product)
And there is 3 channel based speaker adapter here:

And while hard to find, you may be able to also get this Sonica Theatre USB Card somewhere:

  • How do I get live audio playback through headphones while recording a performance of a song on iMovie through external mic?

Hard to explain but hopefully I can get the question across. If anyone can give me some tips on how this will work it would be greatly appreciated!
I like to perform songs of my own in iMovie and upload them to YouTube. The problem I am running into is when I try to record the song through an external microphone the sound will not playback (while recording) through my headphones. The audio and video do record just fine but I would like to be able to hear through my headphones WHILE I record into my external microphone so I can hear how it sounds as I sing. Is this possible? As I stated before, everything works fine but I cannot hear how I sound WHILE I am recording through my headphones. Thats all I want lol. Thanks!!

Did you ever find the answer to this problem? I have the same issue.
    Cheers

  • Problem with audio of my notebook. Audio works through pc speakers and earphones at the same time

    Hi all,
thanks in advance for your advices.
I have a problem with my notebook (HP pavilion g6 2305 sl).
The problem is that when I connect my earphones the audio of my pc don't stop, hence I can hear (music, film, ...) both by earphones and speakers at the same time.
I tried to install again the latest driver audio, but nothing was changed.
I tried to use another pair of earphones, but nothing.
I have noted that if I connect the Jack at my pc, but not until the end, the audio stops from the speakers and goes through the earphones, but only if the jack is not completly inserted in the notebook.
I read a lot of forum on the web but I'm not able to find a solution for my problem.
(ps. the problem comes out suddenly, without any signal. I don't have installed any update or new software before the problem's start)

Right click on speaker icon, lower right screen.
    Choose playback devices.
Select "speakers and headphones" as your default.
    Disable "communications headphones".

  • Can Apple fix the 12 bit audio problem once and for all?

I have had persistent audio problems from I Life V3 all the way up to I Life 06. Sometimes it is synch issues. Sometimes it is audio dropping out. I have been through the various forums and applied the various remedies with some successs, some failure. The basic problem is that I have an extensive quantity of Mini DV tapes dating back to 1997, most recorded with 12 bit sound (prior to 2002). Apple's basic stance has been, you must use 16 bit sound or I Movie and/or I DVD won't work and . And proposes awkward workarounds. Basically placing the onus on it's own consumers. Why can't 12 bit sound support be included in I DVD 06 and these persistent audio issues put to rest once and for all? Is there some overwhelming technical reason why it cannot be done?

I don't know about overwhelming, but the DVD specification (which was not developed by Apple) calls for the audio to be sampled at 16-bit/48KHz (I think you might also be able to use 96KHz as well). This is what the software expects. If you choose to use another sample rate then the software may or may not be able to "fix" it in post. The real problem is that many camcorder manufactures set the audio to 12-bit by default.

  • Simultaneous sound: how to get sound from internal speakers and usb audio adapter

I have an iMac in my living room. It is hardwired to my home theater system in my family room. Currently, I can listen to audio in one location or the other... but not both. I bought a StarTech.com ICUSB Audio Adapter hoping that it would be a fix... not so much. Downloaded SoundSource... not so much
How can I get audio to play via my internal speakers and through my home theater system? Hosting a party this Saturday and would like multiple rooms filled with sound.

First pluging is headphones and then unplugging it. If yu can't get it fully inseted tham may indicate that end of a plug is broken off inside the jack.
Then if not above problem, try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem then an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Apple TV audio through interface and monitor speakers?

    Hi all,
See following pic of my setup...
    My question is as follows....
When Macbook is linked to tv via airplay, which is my normal setup as I produce music and use both screens, the sound output is set through Saffire audio interface and comes out the monitor speakers and all is good with the world, however, I want to be able to sit back and watch the apps on Apple TV as is shown on the big screen there ie. Netflix/NBA TV, but still using my computer soundcard and hence through the monitor speakers instead of it switching back to the TV sound.
    IS THIS POSSIBLE???
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Thanks for the response vazandrew. I've looked further into what you said and the solution is as follows;
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/eSynic%C2%AE-Digital-Optical-Coaxial-Converter/dp/B009ZR 7IB8/ref=pd_sxp_grid_i_0_2
Ditial optical out to toslink audio converter, then out the converter to RCA/Jack etc.
Hope this helps anyone else with same question.

  • The last few times I've used headphones in my iPad, the audio has been all messed up to the extent where it's better to just use the internal speakers and not the headphones. I've tried multiple pairs of headphones to no avail. Help?

The last few times I've used headphones in my iPad, the audio has been all messed up to the extent where it's better to just use the internal speakers and not the headphones. I've tried multiple pairs of headphones to no avail.
The iPad was bought in mid-June, but I did not get extended Apple-Care warranty on it. Any idea of what's happenening?

Multiple means how many? If only 2 or 3, they could all be faulty. Try the headphones in some other device, to make sure they are OK. Or there could be something wrong with the headphone port.
Your iPad is still covered by the 1-year warranty so you should make a Genius appointment and have it looked at.
Another thing to try is to plug in the headphone jack a few times in succession to see if it frees up something inside the port.

  • Internal speakers and audio output gone from System preferences

i can't get macbookpro 2010 to recognize internal speakers and audio output. only optical OUTPUT. CAN'T GET ANY SOUND EXCEPT FOR OPTICAL PORT

yes it is on, i have tried reinserting headphone plugs to possibly release micro switch but no avail. i tried resetting PRAM and that also did not work. this just happened over the last day or so. can't figure out what made it do this. i have no optical device, so the switch shouldn't have triggered.

  • I have lost all audio on both my internal and external speakers.

I have lost audio on both my internal and external speakers.  I have checked the System Preferences when my external speakers are plugged in it is acknowledged.  When using internal speakers they are also acknowledged.  Sound volume on Preferences is on and fully high.  The sound buttons on the keyboard  do not work and the sound level is now locked in at full sound and cannot be adjusted using the keys.  The System Preferences shows that Mute is now checked and I cannot uncheck it.  What should I do to get my sound back both internally and externally?

    Repair permissions & restart.
Check your settings in the Audio Midi app which is located in the Utilities folder.

    Repairing the mysteriously muted Mac
The background on the issue is that there’s a small sensor switch inside the headphone port. When you insert a headphone jack, the sensor understands what's what and changes the sound output setting to Headphones. If you insert a jack for digital audio output, the device changes to Digital Out. When you remove the jack completely, it should read Internal Speakers.
The spirits tell me that there’s a very good chance that you recently had something jacked into this port—a set of headphones or a cable leading to powered speakers, for example. When you removed the jack, something in the port prevented the sensor from tripping correctly. That’s why you see Digital Out instead of internal Speakers.
The solution is to force the sensor to do its job. The safest way to do that is to simply run a jack in and out of the port a few times. Much of the time, this takes care of the problem by correctly tripping the sensor. If that doesn’t work, there may be gunk in the port. Before turning to more invasive techniques, get a can of compressed air, attach the small tube that fits the nozzle, and blast a few shots of air into the port. With any luck, that should dislodge the gunk and the port will operate as it should.
If that doesn’t work, find a foam-tipped swab that fits (electronics shops generally carry them), dip it in rubbing alcohol, and gently insert it into the headphone port in an attempt to wipe away any stubborn gunk. I recommend foam rather than cotton swabs because the cotton variety might leave threads behind. (This same technique works well with misbehaving headphone ports on devices such as iOS devices.)
It's possible that gunk has nothing to do with it. Rather, it may be that the switch just needs a subtle nudge. If a jack or swab doesn't work, I've heard of people successfully resetting it with a deft poke of a toothpick.
