Got an SB Audigy 2 from a friend, installed the latest drivers. Enabled the Audio Effects in the EAX Console ('Advanced EQ > Pop' to be more specific) Music sounds great and all, but most games I play will have no sound. Disabling the effects returns the sound. Only happens with games that use EAX btw, obviously. I would really like to be able to play games with the improved sound.
Is this suppose to happen? I've tried the unnoficial drivers as well, no difference.

Hello, can somebody help me out please?
I have a SB Audigy 2ZS [E480]. In the EAX console, the Audio Effects are disabled. When I check the "Enable Audio Effects" box, the functions briefly lite up, but disappear again, immediately. So how do I enable this function. It has worked fine before...
Also, I tried the karaoke. As I understand it correctly, it should be possible to play MP3's suppressing the voices. This, however, does not happen. The complete song including the singing is heard, whatever I change in the menu.

Unfortunately, regardless of delivery scheme/format, PrE cannot encode DD 5.1 SS. Without a US$250 plug-in, CS4 PrPro cannot do this.
Actually, it does not take most videographers long, before they realize that the on-camera DD 5.1 SS is a bad marketing ploy. To record effective 5.1, one needs six well-designed, well-placed mics, a multi-track recorder w/ mixer and a skilled audio tech. The on-camera mics usually pick up tons of signals that are not wanted. Just having 6 mics does not yield good 5.1 Audio. Instead, they pick up the cameraman's clothes flapping in the breeze, the voices of people well behind the camera, every bit of wind and traffic well off-camera. Few continue to use it, because the Audio ends up being so very poor. They quickly switch back to stereo.
I use DD 5.1 SS a lot, but "create" it with usually 1 stereo source and 5 mono sources, or 6 mono sources. I have complete control over my sound stage and do "knockout" 5.1 Audio, but it takes time, equipment and for me, the SurCode DD 5.1 SS plug-in. I also do some music tracks in DTS, but that is another SurCode encoder, and some extra work in Encore to get that onto a DVD-Video as a supplemental Audio stream. When you hear it though, you will feel that the time and the US$350 encoder are well worth it all.
I wish that I had experience with exactly how PrE 8 handles the DD 5.1 SS Audio source files, but I do not. I can only speak in generalities, based on other Adobe NLE programs - each with a DD 5.1 SS encoder.

Audigy 2 ZS enabled audio effects causes unwanted noi

The following effects causes unwanted noises when i enable them:
Advanced EQ : Drumb & Bass
Environmen : ALL of them
The noises are sound like when you are searching for a TV channel... is this a hardware problem?

I can only make some educated guesses, in part because I've never used Cubase.
If you open the EAX Control Panel, and play around with it, the Master tab will show you the effects that are loaded into the Mixer/Effects DSP. You will find that the first two of these are Reverb and Chorus. You will also find that you are not allowed to remove either of these two. These are followed by a third Original Sound "effect" which you are also not allowed to remove. Additional effects can be selected and Added, which evidently loads them into Mixer/Effects DSP program memory.
I would guess that the order in which effects are loaded corresponds to the effects channel numbers in Cubase. That you're not allowed to remove Reverb and Chorus is why they would appear dedicated to channels 1 and 2. I'd guess Original Sound would be skipped in this, and that function handled in other ways in Cubase.
The Mixer/Effects DSP operates at 48kHz. ASIO tends to be a fairly low-level mapping, which is why effects would be expected to be disabled at 96kHz.

Is your Volume Control icon sitting in the System Tray? If it is bring it up and see if you can launch the EAX console from there.

I've problem with EAX console. I usually listen to music using equalizer in EAX console>>effects>>advanced EQ. But when I want to play a game eg. Battlefield 2, I switch off "enable audio effects", if I don't do that, some sounds in games are inaudible. And again, when I want to listen to music I switch it on to use equalizer. After few cycles of switching it on and off, I can't switch it on and use equalizer (in fact, I can, but there's no options like environment, special FX or equalizer). Because of that sound quality while listening music dro

Sounds like you went through just about every basic troubleshooting step imaginable there. It looks like the first problem was with the card itself so I am thinking we can look past that. One thing that would be helpful in working with this would be to have you post your system specs so we can look into what might be causing this. The most important details are going to be your processor speed and type, your motherboard make and model. Anything else will be helpful.

Creative EAX Console audio effects don't work like before

My audio effects on my eax console used to make a bigger difference. ?I used to use Concert Hall and the reverb effect was much greater just until recently when I downloaded some upgrades creative said i needed. ?I have tried to edit the audio effect individually except there is no edit button like the "help" menus suggests me to use. ?wtf

Hmmm. You seem to have tried, without success, most if not all of the methods of resolving a Ken Burns black screen issue.
Some thoughts that have occurred to me:
1. Perhaps your G4 500mhz Mac is not fast enough. I think that the minimum spec for iLife '06 is 733mhz. Might have nothing to do with this problem, but I just mention it.
2. Are the sizes of your images too large, as can happen with some of these new high def cameras? iMovie has trouble working with very large images.
3. Do you have any 3rd pary plug-ins, particularly in Quick Time, that could be causing a conflict?
4. Do you have enough disk space for the project to operate?
5. Have you done a recent Quick Time update? Some users have reported a problem with that.
6. From your post, it appears that you have continuously worked within the same iMovie file that exhibits the Ken Burns problem. If this is true, try creating a new iMovie project and experimenting with a few clips to see if the problem persists in the new project.
Ken Burns issues can be very frustrating. I think that you will need to keep trying things until something works. Wish I could be more help, but perhaps some of the tech experts on this forum will have some workable suggestions.
There is an application called Photo to Movie that reputedly has a far better Ken Burns type of effect. If you can't resolve your problem, you might try downloading that app. I believe that it offers a demo download.

I have a SB Audigy 2 zs platinum.
Is there a way to enable dsp effects on microphone and mp3 recording under Windows 7?
I'm a musician, and I bought this soundcard for the possibility of a simple and fast recording with eax + media source.
When beta and RC of windows 7 were out it was impossible, I've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate Edition and I don't want destroy my sistem installing and installing drivers.
I've read this forum and I found some solutions: kx drivers, unofficial driver cd, and another driver.
So I'm very confused. I'm not interested about 5.. Only dsp effects on microphone and direct mp3 recording.
Is it possible or my audigy is ready for trash can?

Error when Installing Eax-console as part of Audigy support pack 3.6

I have used several versions of this audigy support Pack up to now, both in Windows XP and Windows 7 RC and all worked fine for me. Most recently I used 3.5 and 3.6 in both OS for a short time.
now I had to format my harddisk an have installed a clean version of Win XP SP3. I installed an update pack (winboard.org), the latest direct X and drivers for nvidia motherboard and videocard. Then, when I tried to install this support pack, I get an error messagge I-00 when eax-console should have been installed, something about CTengine being unable to be installed.
I read through many of the solutions here in the forum, since this error seems to be not so rare. But up to now, nothing helped. This is, what my install.log tells me:

HRe: Error when Installing Eax-console as part of Audigy support pack 3.6o What you have is a missing file, or perhaps your system is wanting to install direct X redistributable or something similar. Do a search on your system for install.log and when you find the newest one, or second to newest one, open it with notepad. It will tell you exactly what you are missing. I was trying to install some components for my Elite Pro and it said in the install.log that it could not find DXREDIST. So I copied a version I had to the installing program's folder and it worked!? So take a look at that log and see what is missing......write back with your results if you dont mind. In the original post I had seen the registration problems with components. You can manually run regsvr32 with the /? switch and see how to unregister that yourself and then try the installation again.

CMSS3D & Audio Effects...Only One at a Ti

I have an Audigy 2 Platinum paired with the original release of the Klipsch Pro Media 4. setup. In the past when re-installing the sound card, I've always had much difficulty trying to get CMSS enabled, and also have an audio effect under 'Advanced EQ'. When enabling the audio effect (doesn't matter which one of the Advanced EQ's) I loose sound from my rear channels. If I turn this audio effect off, I get all channels but it sounds very weak compared to enabling the 'Rock' option under Advanced EQ, for instance. In the past, I just played with it for a while and eventually got it to work, but I can't get this set up to work anymore!
Is it even possible to use the CMSS 3D and audio effects under 'Advanced EQ' at the same time? *Note, using 'Environment' effects work with CMSS 3D, but I don't care for any of those effects.

I didn't modify much the default sound configuration. If I remove this section in asoundrc, it doesn't change anything.
I'm a bit lost between ALSA/PulseAudio/OSS and so. My goal is just to be able to have 5.1 upmixing and to play different audio sources at the time (for instance, Mumble / VLC / flashplugin). I don't know exactly which setup is the most accurate for me.

EAX Console for Audigy LS

Hey all, first post here, hope you can help.
I was recently given an Audigy LS soundcard by a friend as a gift, but without an install cd..so basically I have the soundcard and it's original box, but that's it.
I'd like to enable a few things such as CMSS, and to change a few EAX options as i've having some issues with audio in games...
My question is, bar buying a new cd from creative, is there any other way to get the EAX console? If I do have to buy it I will, but i'm just checking first, thanks

I typed : "audigy LS iso" under emule and found isos for the LS
go for it.
i don't know about the applications compatibility but some of them might be unlocked to be used with (about) every creative cards.

ZEUS, Man -> Woman, Woman -> Man, Squirrel, etc., - they are no longer in the options of?EAX, and the sound environments only come.
For my it is very important that EAX has those?special sound effects that he had the old one?version of Audigy, since with them we took place?voices distorted in a radial program that?we transmit every Friday for Internet, since 6 years old.
Without those effects, a complete block of the program - the humor block-, it won't be been able to make,?and this will be a great loss for our?transmission and our auditors.

The headsets for it will need to use /8'' minijack connecters (or up to /4'' if you get the Platinum/Fatalty/Elite Pro versions). USB headsets use their own software codec, basically making them software based sound devices which would bypass all of the advantages of the X-Fi.
A really great headset choice for this would be the Creative ProGamer Headset NC22 however if you are looking for headphones I have used the Creative HN-505 Noise Cancelling Headphones with the X-Fi (I hope to have some impressions up in a few days) and they work absolutely amazingly. Basically you would do best with closed ear headphones with a good quality microphone.

Cant install EAX console on Audigy 1 Platinum

- Whenever im trying to install the EAX Console from the?SB Audigy Series Support Pack 3.6 (/09/2009) i get a "Error I-00" and the message "CTEngine cannont be installed".
Any ideas how i could fix that and get the EAX effects running again? Im using XP.

You may be getting this error because the support pack is expecting to install things in a series of ste
ps.
Just going to the folder and double clicking the setup wont work. But you can copy these files from the root directory of the folder to the EAX console folder and install just it.

Hi all i just reformated and installed all the updated drivers for my audigy 2 platinum but now i dont have the EAX console with the mixer and the calibration tool. there is no icon in the desktop tray and when i tried to install the EAX console it says im missing required software and it exits.
Im on windows xp, i hope creative didnt get rid of all that right now i just have "creative audio console" and it doesnt have an EQ or bass/trebble settings. What should i do?

I have the same problem on Windows 7 - 64bit...and before also on windows xp 32bit...

Audio Effects g

Hi everyone
I updated the audio drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS card about 3 weeks ago. For that, I used the online update process. After the update process was complete, I checked all the settings and everything seemed ok. Only Today I noticed that the environmental or audio effect were gone.
Is there a way to restore the environmental effects back?
