SB Audigy 2 (not ZS) + Inspire T7700 (1 Speaker not working)

I have just bought a the Inspire T7700 for my my normal SB Audigy 2.
I know that the normal SB Audigy 2 just supports 6.1, right?I have plugged in the subwoofer and the speakers as shown in the quick manual. Then i have connected the 3 cables in the first three holes of my SB Audigy 2. The jumper on the subwoofer is set to 6.1->7.1 I'm using Win XP Home (SP2) and already have installed the newest Audigy 2 Driver. In the the Creative Driver i have chosen 6.1 Profile and Windows has automatically choosen a 7.1 Profile in it'ss own "Sound Settings".(I have already checked, but WIndows has no own 6.1 Profile, only 7.1!)If i now start playing sound the rear left + rear right + side right speaker doesn?t work!If i change change the jumper on the subwoofer (uppest position, think that was 5.1-7.1) and now all speakers work, except one, the front right one!But if i make a "channel test" with the Creative Driver software the channels are completely mixed up.All speakers seems to be positioned wrong! So what did i do wrong? Can't i use all speakers with my normal SB Audigy 2?Is 6.1->7.1 the wrong jumper setting on the subwoofer although it should be the right one (-> manual) for my soundcard? But why do 3 speakers not work then?Hope somebody can help me.

I have done the following:
Since all speakers seem to work, except one if i choose the uppest switch on the subwoofer (think that is "direct", right?)i decided to change the position of the three cables that connect to my SB Audigy 2, because another problem of this situation is, (as i already mentioned above) that all speakers seem to be placed wrong when doing the "Channel test"!After changing the cable?s position in the Audigy 2 quite often i suddenly found a position, where all speakers work (CMSS "on") AND at least the speakers (front right, center, front left, side left, side right)are placed correctly when doing the "Channel-test". I don't know why but if i try to calibrate the speakers in the Creative-Software and click on the speaker that i hear the sound coming from there are some speakers, that always make a noise together with another speaker. In summary, i can't calibrate all the boxes, because some always ound together with another one and some other speakers didn't even makes any noise!Doesn anyone know this problem?

Hello. Maybe you can help me:
I was trying to watch Episode one (with Dolby sourround EX) with power DVD 6 an Windvd 6 plat but i'm having problems with my 8 channel output because when i start the THX optimizer, the sound that is supoused to be heard on my side speakers, comes from the rear speakers and the sound from channels 6 & 7 (Rear center) its also coming from those speakers. This Failure also happens with the Windvd Channel test: side speakers doesn't work and in power DVD 6, CLMEI II technology does not work with side speakers. The only way to get sound from my side speakers is with CMMS.
The tests for the THX console for audigy 2 complete succesfully altough it keeps me saying that my side speaker and sub aren't wired correctly (polarization test). The channel and noise testing goes ok besides that.
This problem is exclusi've to DVD watching beacause with EAX HD 3.0 or 4.0 games, i'm not having any problem.
is Dolby digital EX in episode really works with 7. configurations (region 4)?
How do i need to configure this players to work with the installed decoders?
    Are my speaker set defecti've?
Can i buy some kind of monster cable to imrpove my sound?
It's that all right that the sound from 5. tracks (DD or DTS) is played from the front and rear speaker and not in the side ones?
    Note:
The supoused wiring problems repeats itself even if i change the connector of the the side speakers with the rear ones (that are soppoused to work fine). That means (i think) this problem isn't caused by the speakers wiring (i think i made it ok) could it be that the 7. cable is deffecti've?
What to do? Please Help me
Creative Staff: where i can go to check this on Mexico city? is there any sopport center where i can go and get some help?
    My config:
Audigy 2 ZS and Creative inspire 7. T7700

My guess is that your PowerDVD and WinDVD versions don't have ES support and you're using the programs to decode. This might be the case if you are configuring the programs for multiple speakers. If you are, try configuring them for SPDIF output, then make sure the soundcard is configured to decode AC3/DTS (it probably is). Does that help?

  • 2 Speakers of Inspire T7700 7.1 stopped working

    Hello there!
I have a problem with my Creative Inspire T7700 7.1 soundsystem.
Two speakers, side and rear left have stopped working. Well, the speakers are okay but there is no output at those 2 female connectors in the woofer. There is just a silent noise all the time. The speakers are fine (I plugged them in an other output and they work) so the problem is that there is no signal at those two outputs.
Some days ago it worked fine. I don't know why those are broken - what are my options?

  • Audigy SE not working...NEED HELP BAD!

I have been really frustrated over the past week trying to fix this "no sound" problem. There is no sound coming from speakers and yes, I already checked if it was my speakers and they work perfectly fine. For some reason whenever I play a music file from either iTunes or Windows Media Player it says its playing and no sound is coming out. I checked all drivers in device manager and they are all updated, all enabled, and all working. I already checked if it was on mute and if the volume was on. I need desperate help with this extremely difficult problem because im really, REALLY frustrated with this issue. Thanks and please HELP!! =(

Hi folks,?Initially my audigy 2 nx was not working. But after installing the drivers for vista it started to work. But unfortunately, the other application from creative media source is not working. When I press EAX it says '[color="#000099">the application with the device not found'. But the sound card is working fine.[color="#000099">?[color="#000099">I have even mailed creative with the details. They have sent me a mail with the drivers and an application driver. • Inspire p5800 - center speaker doesnt work

    hi there...
i got a little problem... i have SB audigy 2 and inspire p5800...
I set i up and the center speaker doesnt work at all.. no madder what i do.. i can hear the center speaker snear or something.. but i cant hear any music from it at all...
If i try calibrate the 5.1 the center speaker makes sound like it was the subwoofer... any solution for this? i checked the cables and they are in the right places..
    hope ya can help
    Jones

Hm, that is certainly odd......make sure the jack that goes from the subwoofer to your sound card is in the correct spot.
Not sure but you may have 3 wires going to your soundcard - refer to the user manual for the correct order.
If you are using digital - well then - I don't have a clue unless you hooked that digital cable to the wrong place on the soundcard as well.
    Good luck.

  • Audigy Platinum Ex and Inspire Digital 5500 Speak

Having li'ved with my old Cambridge speakers now for about 3 years years I have recently noticed a sound similar to a distant rumble of thunder on the speakers, the longer they are left on the lounder and more frequent the rumble becomes. So, as they are getting on a bit I have decided to invest in a new set of speakers - Creative Inspire Digital 5500's, but they have yet to arri've.
Have I made a mistake in ordering these speakers? I have read several threads that intimate there may be a number of problems/incompatibility issues.
From what I can gather I either have to plug the speakers directly into the Audigy card outputs to retain the software advantages (5. speakers, base, treble and EAX) and then lose the manual ability to control the volume from the supplied Inspire Amp/mixer OR plug the speakers into the Amp/mixer and lose the software control.
My main use for the speakers is listening to music, not really interested in Dolby output or watching DVDs, screen and study too small, but I do occasionally watch a film or TV episode on the PC.
If anyone can either confirm or deny my percieved error in ordering these speakers it would be most appreciated.
    Dave McCreath

    Hi All
Answering my own question for others to find should they have any qualms.
New speakers arri'ved and installed. Connected to PC via coaxial input and work fine on both stereo (front left and right speakers only) and Dolby Pro Logic (all speakers - WOW!!).
Using Audio HQ, supplied with my Audigy software, I can test the speakers but only the front right and left work with the test. However, all work fine with the speaker test from the inspire 5500 remote - so verdict:
I am impressed with the quality, easy set up and sound manipulation. EAX also works fine!

  • Audigy 2 not working after XP re-inst

I reformatted my dri've and re-installed Windows - SP2 plus up to date patches.
I inserted the Audigy 2 disc to install the software but it stopped at a point with the message 'The data is invalid'.
In Sounds and Audio Drivers there is an exclaimation mark next to 'Multimedia Audio Controllers!. No mention of the SB card anywhere.
I tried installing a different version of the software (from Igor Pavlov?), again the driver did not install.
I tried executing CTZAPXX.EXE from the CD and got the message "An error occured during the installation of the device. The data is invalid". The same happened when executing that file from Igor Pavlov (a different version, I think).
I have moved the Audigy card to another PCI slot with no different results.
When I go to the Creative Automatic Software Update page, it says I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2, DR Release .88.25.
The card was working perfectly before I reformatted and re-installed Windows.
I would really appreciate some advice to get away from onboard sound.
(Abit AT7 Max mobo, AMD 200+ processor, gig Samsung ram)
btw, when I carried out the process of running ctcomp.exe and pointing to the extracted latest driver, I got a message to say the driver was updated !!!!!!!
    Thanks

Your problem may be caused by the Microsoft "Windows installer" itself.
Update it to the latest version st.
    jutapa
    PS
I have the same card you do. I have installed Audigy 2 Zs software using the ctcomp -method. If you think your installation CD is broken, you can dl the Zs Cd from here (seek for BadBoy's posts).
Load st the ctcomp and the EQ patch (you get graphics EQ to working.
    Instructions:
. Download or rip the original installation CD and extract it to your hard disk.
    2. When the whole CD is extracted, run the CTCOMP.exe. It will ask you Audigy 2 CD directory is, this where your patch is to be applied. Apply it to your CD's folder in /Audio/Setup folder, for example: F:\Audio\Setup? is where my driver CD is located so I chose that as where it should be applied. Your directory may differ because it may be on your C: dri've or desktop.
    3. To being the install, run the START.exe in driver CD folder, located at /CTrun/Start.exe. Installation will start, follow the on screen directions should take about anywhere from 2-8 minutes depending on how fast your computer is. Once everything is installed, restart your computer. Once restarted your sound should be working and lots of Creative Labs junk to compliment it.
    4. If you are an Audigy 2 user, install all downloaded Creative updates (driver updates in order of oldest to latest) from the Creative site, restart the necessary number of times and skip to step 6. If you are not using an Audigy 2 continue to step 5.
    5. The CTCOMP patch must also be applied to driver updates (not application updates) and installed oldest to latest. To do so, you must extract the actual .exe update files with WinRAR the same way you did the driver CD. Right click on the file, select extract files? and select the directory to where you want it extracted. The using the CTCOMP patch, select the folder of the extracted update (just the root directory not any subfolders within) and click next. Do this for all driver updates and install them in order of oldest to latest.
    6. To get the equalizer to work, after installing everything and verifying your sound is working, restart the computer in safe mode. Once booted, apply the patch.exe file. Verify the directory for your Creative folder (i.e. C:\program files\creative) and all files should be patched successfully.
7 (optional). Extract Ctpanel.zip to windows\system32, and a new link in your control should appear as "Creative Audio Control Panel". For Li've users, after extracting the file, navigate to windows\system32 and find the YourCPL.txt. Open this text file and edit the line:
    "C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy2\Program\WDM\COMMON\CtPane l.exe" (without quotations)
    and change it to:
    "C:\Program Files\Creative\Program\WDM\COMMON\CtPanel.exe"(wit hout quotations).
These instructions are taken from DriverHeaven's Forum --> follow the subject if you get some problems.Message Edited by jutapa on 0-9-2006 2:47 AM

  • Audigy Drive Not Working (Audigy 2 ZS Platin

I've got an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum.
I've used my Audigy Dri've before for recording stuff with my guitar and whatnot, and I've used my remote plenty. A long time ago my Dri've stopped working and I couldn't figure out why. After plugging and unplugging and driver uninstallation and reinstallation and driver updates and whatnot I cannot get the ****ed thing to work. Occasionally I would boot up and it would work just fine, then I'd reboot and it wouldn't.
I cant select Line-in 2 or any other port, they are non-existent in the volume levels window-thing, but appear when the dri've does decide to work.
I run the remote control program to select which remote or Dri've that is in use, but when the program starts, and a second or so goes by, it determines that it cannot connect to the Audigy Dri've and all the drop-down boxes get disabled and turn grey. the checkboxes at the top however still work. instead of turning gray and disabled when the dri've decides to work, it gives me options to choose from.
I just realized that when I first installed my drivers from the CD, I got an option to install using either the "Audigy ZS 2" or the "Audigy ZS 2 Platinum" and I'd check the appropriate box, but after uninstalling drivers, removing the audigy, booting to ensure all software and drivers are gone, shutting down, putting the hardware back in, booting, and installing the drivers again, I do not get the dialog box asking me to check either "Audigy ZS 2" or the Platinum.
My computer isn't detecting my Dri've. Why? and Why would it sometimes work and then refuse after rebooting? Loose connection? not a chance. Help!

If you'de be so kind, please scroll to the very top of this very page and read where it says "Customer Support Discussion Forums." Notice how "Discussion Forums" is a subcaregory of "Customer Support," and then notice the fact that the word "Support" is explicitly used. One could easily be leadto believe that these are Support forums -- hey, maybe that was intended.
If you need any more clarity than that, hover over that drop-down "Support" link in on the orange background at the top of this page. You see that link that says "Discusison Forums"? Guess what...
anyhoo, now that we're both done being jack asses, lets get friendly and get down to business. I was thinking in my head as I typed on about my long story that I should put in some system specs, but it sliped my mind. I appologize for that, I usually do. So here:
Tripple Booted Windows 98se, Windows 2000, Slackware Linux 0.2. The OS in question here is Win2k on an NTFS partition. two hard dri'ves (20gb and 80gb), Chaintech 9pjl2 motherboard, gig of ram on 4 256 sticks (who knows what brand, I really doulcn't care less), ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (like this should matter), Antec TruePower 550 watt, Acrylic Blue case (now I'm just losing focus) anyway, the most important stuff is there.
As I've mentioned before, I've reinstalled my drivers so many times that I cringe every time I hear the term. I'll do as you said with the links provided, and post here again later -- however, I doubt this will help anything. System Corrupted? err, thats a very broad term there, and I'm not sure what you mean by it. my machine and OSs work just fine, with this one exception.
Thanks for posting. :-)Message Edited by zeroth on 0-27-2005 07:43 PM

  • SB Audigy SE - Not Working in Windows 7

'?Not sure if anyone can help on this one, but I have been trying to get my sound card working after installing Windows 7. I have been going back and forth with the support pers from Creative for over a month and now it looks like they are dumping me because I cannot find the receipt for my purchase.
I have followed everything they have told me, uninstall and re-install, trying in a different PCI slot, but all I keep getting is that its installed, but in device manager I get the yellow triangle with an exclamation point and when I open it, I get the message "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
They instructed me to use the file SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090 to do the install.
I know its not a very expensi've card, but its all I require and it worked fine when I was running Windows XP.
I hope someone can help, because I have run out of idea's to try.

Thank, yes I dont understand it, the card worked fine when I was running Windows XP.
I even bought another sound card and that wouldnt work either, I just dont get it.

  • Right Side of my Audigy SoundCard not working! Any suggestio

    Hi all,
I've owned my Audigy 2Zs soundcard for a little over a year now and everything has been working fine until today. Without any reason that I can think of, all of my audio information is coming out of my left speaker only. I checked all of the obvious settings and tried headphones to make sure that it wasn't something simple that I overlooked. However, with the headphones plugged directly into the back of my card... I only get the left side coming through. As anyone else had this problem or know of a solution? Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Smart Recorder Audigy 4 not work

I've had an Audigy 4 pro for a couple of years now and had full use of the smart recorder. When I updated to windows Vista I lost the use of this. Last week I decided to buy the Xfi and I had full use of smart recorder again but I didn't like the new software that came with xfi. On the audigy model I was able to select auditorium etc in the EAX but with the xfi it gives me 22 dials of reverb to mess around with - yeah right
!!! Owing to this I decided to go back to my Audigy 4. What I don't understand is why Smart Recorder will work in Vista with Xfi but it won't with Audigy?
Am I doing something wrong? I've disabled my onboard sound and I've tried to run smart recorder in windows xp compatibiltiy. When that didn't work I uninstalled and reinstalled using XP compatibility to be told I didn't have a supported device.
Why can't Creative just update the hardware and leave the software nice and simple lol - the whole sound of Xfi recording just wasn't in the same league as the Audigy 4 so that was a waste of ?220
If noone has an answer to this then can you let me know if there is a good recording software out there that has recording settings of mono or stereo and bitrate settings. I don't want to edit my stuff I just want it to sound good with the initial recording and Xfi just didn't!
    Thanks for your help

  • Audigy NX not work

It has been working normally for 2 years. Yesterday when I tried to turn it on nothing happened. No lights are flashing, the pc doesnt sees it. Just there is a heat around dc input. And when I connect or disconnect dc cable there is a clicking sound from speakers. Can it be the DC adaptor?

these might sound like stupid suggestions, but is your card plugged in? Is the card powered on (look for a blue light)? Is the card muted (look for a red light on top AND check your volume on the computer)? Check the speaker settings to make sure it is set to headphones if you are using headphones as well.Just my thoughts about the card... • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and Inspire T7700 does not recognize Mic on Audio Control

    Hi folks,
I decided to hook up my headphone and mic sets to the Audio Control Pod for the first time recently to chat online. I'm not sure if I ever tried this when I bought the Inspire T7700 speaker system, but I cannot seem to get any voice to come through in Windows' Sound Recorder (the headphones work fine). I'm hoping that someone here can help...otherwise, I suppose I'll have to find an alternate solution than using my soundcard system.
    Here are some specs:
OS: Windows XP SP2 and all current updates
Soundcard: Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Speakers: Inspire T7700 with Audio Control Pod (contains the headphone and mic jack)
    Here's what I have tried:
    . Updated drivers to: SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe
    2. Tested headsets and mics out on another one of my computers with a SoundBlaster Li've. They work fine.
    3. Set each audio source with full volume in the Recording Control window as the source while recording in Windows' Sound Recorder (I know some of these aren't right, but I tried them all nonetheless):
    - MIDI Synth
    - Line-In 3
    - Line-In /Mic (this should be the one, I think)
    - S/PDIF-In
    - Auxiliary (this might be the one for the Audio Control Pod)
    - "What U Hear"
    - Line-In 2
    - CD Digital
    - Wave
    4. Installed the Creative software from the official CD to manage the audio and speaker settings. Retested the same as item 3 above within this software. Same results.
    5. Disconnected the external I/O hub (since I am connecting to the Audio Control Pod, which connects to the speaker system and then my sound card). Interestingly, the Line-In /Mic input disappeared. All that I saw for an input (I believe) was Auxiliary. I tried even that as noted in item 3, but nothing.
Has anyone had any luck in getting a mic from a headphone set to work with the Audio Control Pod for the Inspire T7700 speaker system along with the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Read the FAQ on top of the soundcard forum concerning SPDIF and digital out. The reason is very easy to find out if you read that. In short: the digital out can only send out a PCM stereo signal (which is why you only get FL/FR sound) and an encoded AC-3 signal.
