SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - no headphone sound from the front pan

Hi all,
I had replaced my old broken Asus Mobo with the same type. After all hardware was reconnected to the new mobo I have noticed the front pannel headphone output doesnt work.
I have connected the card and the panel with the proper cable, the pannel seems to be powered OK. I even connected the card and the panel with the internal firewire cable.
The only difference is I have this time installed the drivers from the Creative website, whilst I used the bundled CD with previous installation.
Would that prevent me from hearing the sound from the headphones?

I have the same problem as you. My system is MSI 865 PE motherboard and XP Pro SP3 with Audigy 2 ZS. I have reinstalled my system numerous times before and never had any problem, until this time....

- Format HD, install win XP, install SP3. Install Audigy 2 ZS driver and application from CD. Sound works.
- Install card's latest driver downloaded from Creative. NO SOUND!
- Device Manager shows everything ok. But control panel -> 'sound and audio devices property' has the device volume bar grayed out. Looks like system doesn?t recognize the card somehow.
- Install the latest application (organizer and other stuff), to no avail.

I tried to move the card to a different slot. After bootup, windows recognized new hardware installed, and started installing driver (I chose 'let windows auto search'). And sound came back. But if I re-install the latest driver again, the sound will go away.

I don't think moving card to a different PCI slot is an legitimate way of solving the problem, and problem still exists after the move. This has been really frustrating.

Audigy 2 Platinum Ex -- no sound from external

I've got internal system sounds, but no sound from the external I/O box. I've got standard RCA cables from my stereo to input3 on the box. I know I've got a signal there, because I can hear it through my other soundcard still installed if I switch to it. I just transferred the Audigy 2 from my old PC to a new one. It worked fine on the old PC.
I've unchecked all the mutes in the control panel, played with volume levels, still no sound. I've got input selected as "what you hear". I do not see a specific "input3" selection for source. I only installed the drivers for SB Audigy 2, none of the other stuff (Mediasource).
Any ideas for troubleshooting this dilemma?

I don't have the External I/O module, but as a troubleshooting step, do the analog jacks on the rear of the A2ZS card work?

Means you still have the onboard sound turned on at a guess.

How can I remove the background sound from the headphone jack for my MacBoo

for my MacBook Air problem adding music intensifier (Panasonic ST-HT1000) to give it an unpleasant sound background that sounds like a whiz, it's not so loud, but it is an unpleasant .. after a short time can get used to, but the fizz does not pass, however, believe that it is a big problem.
Further I notice that when MacBookAir disconnected from the charger, it remains quieter sound.
At first thought that the headphone jack (3.5 mm Headphone:
Connection: 1/8-Inch Jack) or wiere have problem, but tried 3 different cables, but that does change enything, the problem remains.
When I added iPhonu3GS playing - the background sound were not, then everything is OK!

There is no way to bring that up unless you have it typed in a document. You can use My Support Profile to find a list of serial numbers that have been purchased or registered with your Apple ID.

I only get sound from the computer's speakers even though I put in headphones

I have for a while now had the problem that I only get sound from the computer's speakers even though i plug in the headphones, I have rebooted the computer but still the same problem occurs. So i thought there might be someting wrong in the settings, when i open the soundsettings and plug in my headphones nothing happens, usually I believe there should be a text appearing that says that the sound is now going to headphones, am I right? any how, it still just sends the sound out to the speakers and there is no option to send it else where then "soundflower 2ch and soundflower 16ch".
I do have an external sound card, for music recording, that goes through USB, and when i plug that in i get the option to send the sound to that device and also to recive sound and i can also choose if i want to sent it to the computer's speakers. So could it be someting wrong with the headphone jack?

Boot into the System Bios and make sure that Onboard Devices- Integrated Audio is On. Then exit the System Bios saving the change. Once back into Windows, open the Device Manager and make sure that ADI1983 HDA appears under Sound devices. Then re-test the rear green audio jack #4 using headphones. Only getting sound from the left earphone

I changed headphones to make sure its not a headphone problem but there is no sound from the right earphone. If I press the connector deeper into the socket then both the earphones work fine, however, I have to keep it pressed down with my finger. Does not work of its own accord. I have had it for 13 months now...any tips anyone?

I have had a the same problem, only its my left headphone that doesnt seem to work.
I've tried using dozens of headphones and speakers but the left speaker or headphone never works.
I have found a cheecky way of getting some sound through however. If you push the ipod jack up at an angle to the roof of the ipod jack hole then you should find that it works. Just press down on the ipod jack (nib bit close to the speaker hole).
Only problem with this is that you have to hold the ipod to listen to it and it can become quite tiresome. As soon as you let go it will stop sound going through that speaker.
I did also find out that this happens to quite a few people and most commonly is caused when dirt (e.g. sand) gets into the ipod jack hole.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

About one hour ago I lost the sound from the speaker iPhone 4S 5.1.1. Lost in the middle of a conversation with a friend whom I put on speakerfon, first started to choking and after that sound is disappeared, and than appears in the fraction of a second and after is completely gone. On two occasions it choking when I put some videos and that's all. There is no sound even when someone call me, only vibrates. Note that phone was never dropped, as a new one, and I got it from July last year. Headphones works normaly. Any help without service?

make sure your ipad is not muted
make sure you volume is not all the way down
make sure audio play out of the ipad when not connected to the hdmi adapter
if you did and it don't work then it's likely an issue with the connetor
or the tv or it's settings

I recently purchased HDMI cable and adaptor, so that I can play downloads from my Macbook Air on my TV. There is only sound from the Macbook, not the TV - Do I need as separate cable for sound?

I've got the same issue: when I connect my Macbook Air (2011) to TV via HDMI cable there's no sound through the TV system, only from the Macbook Air. I used to use my older Macbook Pro with the same HDMI adapter and it worked just fine, but not with the Macbook Air it doesn't.
My software is up to date. I tried to select the TV as an output option in sound preferences, but it doesn't yield any results.
Rebooding multiple times doesn't help either.
Any suggestions on how to tackle this problem?
