Sb audigy ls driver er

i have had this card for a while and it was working for almost a year untill last nightand it started saying this not just surround mixer but all of the programs and NOTHING that has sound is working...
---------------------------Surround Mixer---------------------------The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit.---------------------------OK --------------------------- i cant play any sound i have done 2 clean sweeps
i ran the diagnostics program and this says this..
Hardware detection pass
Wave driver fail
midi dri've fail
Mixer driver fail
DirectSound 3D driver fail
Mixer Settings check fail
and when i click fix it says this
---------------------------Creative Diagnostics---------------------------The current problem cannot be fixed automatically. Reinstall the software of your audio hardware to see if your problem can be solved.---------------------------OK ---------------------------i have spent fun hours uninstalling and reinstalling this.....
i have updated the drivers and installed them with Creative's driver update program.
what do i do?

I stumbled across this post while searching for a fix for my SoundBlaster Li've!. Basically everything worked fine under Win98. I upgraded to WinXP and the card appeared to be installed with no conflicts but I had no sound and I couldn't set a default playback device in "Sounds and Devices" because they were greyed out. I ran the Creative Diagnostic test and the Hardware test passed but all the driver tests failed.
I fixed this problem by going to
Start > Control Panel > Administrati've Services > Services
Locate "Windows Audio" and make sure the service is started. If the service is not started right-click and select properties. Change the startup type to automatic and click start.
Hope this helps anyone who stumbles across this post while looking for fixes.

  • Audigy 2 driv

i just reformatted my hard dri've and i lost the disk that came with sound card that has the drivers for it and this freaking website wont give me the drivers only updates that require the drivers already. so where the heck am i supposed to get the drivers from?

i took my sound card out to see exactly what it is, model number SB0090 (with no M or G at the end)
when i search the site by model number there is no SB0090, theres an SB0090M and SB0090G, both are some type of Audigy 2, but every time i download an audigy 2 driver, when i try to install it, it says"Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audigy 2/Sound Blaster Audigy on your system.
Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program.
    Setup will now exit."
and dont tell me that "its not in all the way" or anything like that i've taken it out and put it back in many times, i've tried it on 3 different slots on my mother board it keeps saying this and every time i turn on my computer it says windows detected new hardware so i know that it's being detected by windows so wtf is the problem? in the device manager its there under "Other Devices" as "Multimedia Audio Controller"
when i do a search for drivers it comes up with nothing and when when i try to install any driver it doesnt work.

  • Audigy Gamer driver iss

I cannot get the latest drivers for the Audigy Gamer (E400) to work correctly with my card no matter what I do. I'm running off a clean WinXP install with SP2. I installed AUD_EAX4DRV_0303.exe, then updated my AudioHQ, then installed AUD_WEBUP_PCWDRV_-84-40.exe. Upon installation I get sound, my mixer works, and AudioHQ works (EQ, ENV, FX presets all funciton). But when any game attempts to use EAX, I get no sound. If I alt-tab out of the game, and load AudioHQ, all of my ENV, EQ, and FX settings are blank. As soon as I exit the game, AudioHQ returns to normal and my sound returns. I've tried updating drivers every way possible, and nothing's changed. I have to use old drivers, and the old drivers produce very poor EAX effects, if any, but they are the only drivers that actually function fully.

    Audigy Gamer (E400)
    MSI GeForce 3 Ti 200

    Windows XP Professional w/SP2
If there is anybody out there who has gotten this card to work correctly, i'd very much appreciate your guidance. The lack of driver support on this card is pathetic to say the least, and it does not give me any encouragement to ever purchase a Creative Labs card again. I know there are ways to use Audigy 2 drivers with this card, but i'd like to first hear if there are any real fixes for this card.
    Thanks for any help!

    Avenger55,
The problem that you are dealing with here is that the original driver CD you have predates Windows XP. It is possible to get the CD install to work under XP by doing what we discussed earlier, however it appears there may be a third detail that is causing the trouble here. I noticed that you are running a VIA chipset, are you running the latest version of the Hyperion 4 in drivers? If not you should go to www.viaarena.com and get the update. The newest drivers should work with your system without trouble as long as the system is up to date.
You might also consider ordering our latest install CD for the Audigy as it contains the latest drivers for the Audigy along with all of the updated software. You can order it from our Direct Sales department who can be contacted at -800-998-000 option #.

  • SB Audigy 4 Driver Probl

At least, I *think* it's a driver problem. Let me start from the beginning.
Just about every other time I start up my PC, my SB Audigy 4 (Retail) runs into a problem. That is, the nice Exclamation Point shows up, and it doesn't see it as a SB Audigy 4, but rather a "Multimedia Audio Controller" (MAC for short). So I uninstall the MAC, reboot (note, at reboot, it shows it as a Creative Soundblaster Audigy Audio Processor, still with the yellow exclamation point next to it, and still with (CODE 0) attached, and install the SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004.exe drivers. (Why, oh why does it only come in EXE format? What happened to the Good old days of .inf files?)
    Pic Follows:
    http://www.sglider.net/images/Audigy4uninstalled.JPG
I install, and everything goes well. I reboot, and my Sound drivers are there, so I can play my favorite games. But, the next time I reboot my PC, I'll have lost my Sound Drivers again --- though it doesn't happen every time, but I can't go more than 2 reboots without it happening again.
I'm really getting tired of reinstalling these drivers on every boot up. Does anyone have the skinny?
    My system details follow:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+ (333mhz Barton)
Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra Mobo (Via chipset - Newest Hyperion Drivers installed) - Motherboard updated.
    Ati Radeon X850XT AGP
    SB Audigy 4
    2 GIG PC2700 DDR SDRAM
Microsoft Windows XP Professional w/SP2 and all updates.
Thank you for your patience, and your assistance.

Thanks for that tip, that may make it so I don't have to do stupid things to get it to see the driver.
Next step though is to find a way to keep the Driver from mysteriously uninstalling or borking itself so I don't have to keep reinstalling it. Any ideas?

  • Digital output problem with new Audigy 2 driv

I updated to the 02.08.0004 drivers today and everything seemed fine till after I calibrated my speakers within speaker settings. I have Z680s hooked up to a Audigy 2 PCI card using both digital out and analog. As with previous drivers I calibrated using 6 Channel direct input.
Anyway, the problem is that when I use windows media player or any other media app, with the speakers set to Coax input (digital) I get the sound coming from the rear 2 speakers, instead of through the front 2 as it should. However, this only happens if I choose a speaker calibration under speaker settings.
It's a bit annoying because I didn't have this problem before. Anyone else have this problem or a solution? Or is it a case of Rolling back to an old driver and hoping the problem doesn't stick?
    Thanks

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Audigy Platinum driv

Hi all, and a big hello from a beginner in this forum!
I'm going to download new drivers for my old Audigy Platinum (200), the file name is: sabx_webup_lb_2_08_0004.
My question is: does it works good?
One year ago I downloaded a driver from this site and my XP SP2 crashed!!
Does it worth, anyway? I have no problems with my sound card and I don't know if it is really necessary to update the driver...
Maybe anyone installed the new driver and had problems?
    Thank you.

  • 2 issues with last Audigy 1 driver upd

I have presently 2 issues with the last drivers released for the Audigy cards. Both issues are able to be reproduced consistently, and did not happen with the last release (from last year), or at least not consistently.
. Crackling while playing back Quicktime files has increased. Previously it was around in 0 files that crackled (and only Quicktime that I noticed). Now it is around in 3.
    2. I cannot play back DVD's through Windows Media player 0, period. Whenever I try I get the following message:
"this pin cannot use the supplied media type"
How do I know this is driver related? Well, by reverting to the last drivers the message goes away. Also, if I disable the soundcard totally the error goes away and the video plays, albiet without sound.
Anyways just thought I'd post this here so hopefully someone at Creative sees it and actually fixes the issue.
BTW, yes I did try reinstalling the drivers. Twice. Even redownloaded them in case the original D/L was corrupted.
Edited to clarify about the DVD issue:
To make it a little clearer about the DVD issue, when I first got my Audigy while using the original release drivers on the install CD, I could not use 5. output with the soundcard decoding. To try to get it working, I would put the output to SPDIF and set the soundcard to decode AC3. This would not even allow the movie to play in WMP 0, often just crashed the player. With the last driver update before the January one, I could set the output to SPDIF in WMP 0 and AC3 to decode in the Creative audio control panel and I would have 5. surround output. With the last driver update, setting output to SPDIF and trying to play the movie gives the 'this pin cannot use the supplied media type' error message. If, however, I start the movie on 2 speaker output in WMP 0 it will play normally. While the movie has started I can go into preferences and switch output to SPDIF and 5. surround kicks in and works fine usually. But, if I then stop the movie and restart it I once again start getting the 'this pin cannot use the supplied media type' error, and the DVD will not play.
Also thought it worth mentioning XP is up to date, SP2 and all the latest patches, Nvidia drivers up to date (not that it's a video card issue) and Direct X is up to date also (I run the update once a month just in case).Message Edited by Drifter73 on 05-5-2006 0:35 AM

    Jay,
As to your first question: it could be a OS and discoverer problem that you are running into. I would suggestion upgrading atleast to 3.1.45 or higher. If you can go to 4.1
I can not really assist you with your other questions as I do not have that version available..

  • Finally. A solution for Installing Audigy 2 drive

Seems to be a fairly common problem that I have seen posted on this board and many others. Here is a solution that I found after a couple hours of trying. This solution is valid as of 3 Jan 2006 for the (SBA2_PCDrvBeta_LB_2_08_0002) driver found in downloads. This solution pertains to Winxp.
    The Problem:
When installing the latest software for Windows Xp I receive a message to the effect that an Audigy 2 has not been detected.
    The solution:
    -Download the drivers.
-download a copy of winrar. There is a free evaluation copy located here http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250-0007677.html?part=dl-winrar&subj=dl&tag=button
    -Install Winrar
-Open Winrar, locate the Soundblaster file by double clicking on it.
-Select all the files and folders in the soundblaster file.
-extract those files and folders to a known location. (I extract to a file folder that I created on my desktop called "dump" because its easy to find)
-open the file folder and go to the "drivers" sub folder.
-double click on the setup icon.
This installed the new drivers for me. I hope it works for you too! Good luck.
Please post if this works for you, so that others know its a viable fix.
-Message Edited by Tangogulf on 0-3-2006 :43 PM

    Eks.
My solution does not pertain to the installation of a new card. Windows actually detected it as an Audigy when I first installed it. It wasnt until I did the autoupdate that it was recognized as an Audigy 2.
However, after it was recognized, the Soundblaster software still did not recognize it as an audigy 2, depite it being list in my device manager.
My guess would be that if one were to install a new audigy, if they downloaded the drivers and extracted them as stated in the first post, they would be able to refer to the driver area and get them installed from there without the SB driver disk.
    Its merely a guess though.

  • Word on Audigy 2 drive

Creative previously said that there would be a certified non beta driver for Audigy 2 cards, but I still only see the beta driver under Vista 32bit. Are they delayed or in some other location for download?

One of the Forum Admin's from Creative said the driver for all of us Audigy 2 customers with Vista?should be coming out in the next few days.. Creative labs didn't give a date.. Hopefully the drivers come out on Friday if not later this evening or tonight.

  • Thanks for the updated Audigy 2 driver

I don't know if anyone else has said this but I justed wanted to thank Creative for the updated Audigy 2 drivers. I believe you ultimately did a good thing. I also believe in the long run it'll pay off as you'll get bug reports (like I'm about to post) to help improve the product. If you'll come out with a PCI-Express version of the X-fi, I'll remember this...
    Again, thanks for the drivers!!

  • Problem trying to reinstall Audigy 2 driver.Error mess

?I have an Audigy installed on my Gateway and it was playing fine. Then the sound disappeared from one application but still played music and web casts. I thought I could try reinstalling the driver from the Drivers disc. I also tried downloading from this site. all have the same problem. It seems to be downloading OK but at the last second I get this error message. The error mesasage appears just as the installer finishes, it reads,?'You have previously installed drivers without rebooting. Please reboot and try again'. Now, this is after I just rebooted of course. I shut down my Norton anti virus and Zone Alarm pro. It seems something is interfering so I shut down as many programs as I could find running. I tried completely uninstalling and trying again.Any thoughts?Message Edited by clayman00 on 03-07-2006:7 AM

    hello,
im a little confused on what driver i need as theres no reference to the audigy-player in driver menu,

weird thing is i ((was)) using the card on a .7 ghz perfectly even under heavy load no clipping at all now i have transferd card to a xeon dual .7ghz (3.4ghz) over a gig of ram, again xp-sp2 now the same song arrangments that was perfect on a single .7 are clipping badly. even near complete songs that are not useing any MIDI devices (internal or external) are doing the same, i was wondering is this a windows driver/dx9 etc , issue or is there a problem running audigy player on a dual system.
the driver that i installed was an old update i downloaded sometime ago pre sp 2, hence the request for newer driver, games dvds mp3s are perfect, only under song production clipping happens, cubase, fruity, are suffering only..

  • Latest Audigy 4 Drive

    Hi everyone
Just new here, so Hello all.
Ive just bought an Audigy 4 bulk. When I installed the card I removed my SBLi've, removed all Drivers, applications and registry entries, then ran Driver Cleaner Pro to get ride of all creative stuff.
My question is: Are the updated web drivers, just updates or are they full versions of the Audigy windows drivers.
The reason i ask is that my old SBLIve showed up as an "SBLi've (WDM)", with just the naked MS sound drivers that come with windows until I updated, then it showed a full "Creative SoundBlaster Li've", and audio codecs, now the audigy is showing up as just a "Creative Audigy 4 (WDM)" in XP device manager, with these new drivers.
I realise the SBLi've was built at the time of Win98 and updated Win2000, but not XP.
    Is this right
    Cheers M

Yes, using the DLLML.exe from the CD should work as it does in my setup. Do a search using the Windows search tool, and it should find two identical instances of the file in the CD, one of them in a CAB file. You should be able to copy & paste either instance to your C: dri've's location as long as the DLLML.exe file is not already loaded/running in memory.
I had sent Creative's support an e-mail with exactly the same information, but unfortunately the first response I got from them was to do a cleansweep and install of the Creative software. I say "unfortunately" because Creative did not describe what are we trying to accomplish by "tainting" a fresh format/XP SP2 install with a massi've uninstall & reinstall of Creative software, even when I hoped narrowing the issue down to what seems to be a trivial EXE would have triggered some ideas as to what might be wrong with that particular version of the EXE file (i.e. it seems to be, after all, a DDL file loader, which does not seem to be driver engine code per se, but instead a DLL memory loader).
As I mentioned to them, this system simply has a fresh XP install, all OS updates, all peripheral drivers, and the Creative card and software was the last thing installed in the box. No tweaks other than DEP turned OFF, no overclocking, no extraneous services running in the background, not even any additional software. Installation of the software was done by the letter, with proper reboots.
I would appreciate if someone has an idea of what may be accomplished by a re-install of Creative software on a fresh OS install when the problem is squarely on the DLLML.exe file. You can be as specific as pinpointing DLL or registry entries that such a re-install is suppossed to fix (i.e. I am using the wrong files; a registry entry has the wrong value, etc.), and how this would have happened when following the installation steps as documented.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy SE Driver Prob

I have a problem with Sound Blaster Audigy SE,
Im using newest from creative download site SBA_PCDRV_LB__04_006.exe drivers.
After I turn on a game like ut2004, fear combat, even dxdiag (sound test) or pause sound in music/movie player system stops reacting or process "System" uses 95-00% of my CPU.
After few tests I discovered with help of KrView (kernel view soft) that p7filt.sys uses such big ammount of cpu If in Speaker Settings, Bass Redirection and Subwoofer Gain (+5) is turned on. (5. speakers)
I installed a bit diffrent version of drivers (from cd and even later I tested SBSE7_XP_Jul2005 additional driver). But then Subwoofer Gain option isnt working at all
its written Subwoofer Gain (+0) and with sub gain +0 sound quality very poor like in AC97 audio.
Ive also checked friends sound card on my pc and also i've tested exactly same thing on other computer.
I have xp sp2 with updates, newest bios, directX, etc etc...

OK..first of all the Audigy SE lacks any form of hardware acceleration, so turning on features like bass boosting/sound post-processing etc. will take away a lot of CPU time. The file you mentioned just acts as a software real-time filter, although it should not go up to the point of bringing a 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4 to its knees.
The sound quality will be altered even with every "DSP" effect (quoted because there's no actual hardware DSP, it's just emulated in software) set to 0, as long as the "DSP is considered acti've.
That's because the sound output is first converted from the time domain to the frequency domain (in poor words, the continuous sound wave you hear is broken down in many different frequencies like in those 80s ghettoblasters spectrum analyzers) because it's easier to amplify bass/treble that way, and then converted back to time domain (in even poorer words, a continuous sound wave you can hear/record/playback).
It's obvious that doing that thing in real time has a CPU cost, and even more obvious that the procedure is lossy and the input will not be the same as the output even with no effect applied, as long as the this double conversion takes place.
If you really need bass boost, turn any sound processing on the card OFF, and use speakers which have it. Also, if the CPU usage is abnormally high, try updated or a specific older version of the drivers that has more reasonable CPU usage/doesn't have that bug.

  • Audigy 2zs driver/ software pr

    hi all,
i got my audigy 2 zs today. i installed it, played around for a while with all the settings. after a while i couldnt get any sound out of the center (i use a speedlink medusa 5. headset). so i thought i uninstall and make a new install. so i uninstalled the soundcard in my hardwaremanager. after that i wanted to uninstall the software but it wouldnt. then i shut down all audigy-related software and deleted it manually. after that i tried to reinstall, but it wont do. i get the same error everytime:
    error: 0x8004020
i cant uninstall, repair or reinstall. nothing works. i think because i deleted manually the system has got some remains in the registry and wont allow a new install.
is there anything i can do to get rid of all creative software and drivers on my system an start from scratch?
    thx in advance & greetings
    wurst

    hi,
    thanks for your answer.
i downloaded this file from the creative website:
    SBA2_PCWDRV_LB__84_55-R.exe
i cant unpack it, i just can start it then its self-extracting but i dont know to where.
then it says "setup cant detect any older version of sound blaster audigy 2 ZS WDM driver. setup is ended."
(this is a translation so it might not be very accurate)
after it self-extracts and i serach the HDD for what you said, nothing is found
    any more hints? please?
    edit:
i found something on the cd named CTZAPXX.exe. did you mean that? i launched it, uninstalled the drivers but it didnt help.
i think its not a problem with the driver but rather with the audigy 2 ZS sofware wich is also installed during driver installarion from CD. when you launch the cd you get 2 options:
    creative audigy 2 zs
    creative media something.
and the first one when launched said either:
    change
    repair
    remove
but no matter which option im going for, the result is the same error as mentioned above
