SB Audigy Platinum Front I/O Mic Probl

Whatever i do, i just can't seem to get the microphone plug on the I/O module to work. When i plug
my microphone in the back of the sound card itself, it works, but not when i plug it in the front.
The strange thing is that the headphone plug on front seems to work, but the microphone doesn't.

Hello, is this the place for an argument? Oh wait, that's a Monty Python skit, not real life. *ahem*
So what I'm hearing is that we're basically on our own. Is it that hard to answer a simple question like, "How do I completely uninstall ALL my SB Fatalty drivers and install brand new fresh ones from the internet, and in doing so, hopefully reset my I/O dri've?"
That's my question.
Cheers,
Phoenix

  • SB Audigy Platinum SB0090 PlayCenter3_02_52 and SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_0016 proble

I lost my original software CD's for my Audigy Platinum (SB0090.) I downloaded SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006 drivers and PlayCenter3_02_52 as per the SB download site. The drivers work correctly. When I try to load the PlayCenter3_02_52 it says it won't work with the drivers (SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006) and that it must have the newer Li've! drivers.
Frustrating to say the least. Incorrect files and a poor knowledge base make it so hard to install the devices. Can someone help with information on the product and files?
    Thanks
    Martin

  • Problem with Audigy 2 Platinum Front Panel Input

0Problem with Audigy 2 Platinum Front Panel Input? Hey everyone,
Here's the background of the issue. I got a PS3 over the holidays for literally free
I had my computer out in a testbed style. Plugged the PS3 into my monitor HDMI --> DVI cable, and Red/White into the front RCA jacks of the Front Panel (Aux 2). As soon as I plugged in the cable, I got sound out of my speakers and was able to enjoy my PS3 in 720p
I put all of the components back into the case after cutting exhause and intake fan holes. I brought everything back to school, fired up the PC and PS3. Lo and behold, there is no more sound from the PS3. I know that PS3s are temperamental in moving, but I hooked the audio up to my TV and the sound came out just fine. The AD Ext cable looks like it's secure and in place. When I hooked up a mic and headphones to the front, they worked fine as well. However it seems to be just the AUX 2 RCA inputs that dont work anymore. Any ideas about how to fix this issue? Is there a function I have to turn on now in the software to allow sound to pass through? Any information would be wonderful!? I'm going to try an optical cable in the near future, just need to borrow one from a friend =/

    Problem Solved.
I had moved my cards around for better airflow. I moved the SB Audigy card from the bottom PCI slot to the top. Thinking this might be the problem, I moved the video card back to the top slot PCI-E and the sound card to the bottom PCI slot. Sound is now working again. Thanks for the thread views?:smileytongue:
Think that when I have to buy Win 7 for real if the problem would still persist if I moved the card again? Or is this a hardware limitation?

  • Aux 2 Soundblaster Audigy platinum probl

    Hi there.
I used to have problems with using aux 2 (red/white on the front panel of audigy platinum) , bascially
because the volume control in windows didnt have aux 2 volume control under advanced. After contacting support and updating my drivers I think with the webupdate on creative.com aux 2 was listed in the advanced volume control thingy, so I could check the box and untick the mute setting.
But after some formatting and new installation of my soundcard I cant find a way to get the aux 2 volume control back. Its just not listed and I am not able to hear sound through my speakers. I tried all updates that are downloadable from creative.com ; also the autoupdate software of creative. No luck at all.
Can someone please help me to get my aux 2 volume control back ?Greetz

hi. i have the same problem. i spent on that 2 days. its boring, i havo to do some job, but now i cant.. if you get some info, send it also to me, please!! i do so..

  • Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum BIG Proble

I have sound blaster audigy platinum and in few weeks I have got this strange problem that I?ve hadn't before. If I use old drivers for it, windows gives me blue screen with "bad pool caller" very often when I play or just listen music. With new drivers it gives me "driver irql not less or equal". At the same time in linux it works fine. In windows I've checked viruses etc. reinstalled windows many times, used memtest and so on. Finally 2 days ago I took my Sound blaster off my computer and ever since I haven't got any problems. So it obviously is the problem. But I just don't know what to do anymore to get it work? Now I use the sound card that comes integrated with my motherboard but it's not as good. Btw I don't use integrated sound card same time with sound blaster. Please Help!

  • Headset no longer works with Audigy Platinum dr

I have a Logitech headset that plugs into the headphone and mic jacks on the Audigy Platinum dri've. On Saturday I had to do some work in my computer, so I disconnected the dri've from the card to get the data cable out of the way.
This may not be related (I hope not), but I plugged my floppy dri've in wrong and fried the floppy dri've and melted the wire to the PSU. I got a new floppy dri've and PSU. I don't believe the sound card or Platinum dri've were effected because they both work fine otherwise.
Anyway I no longer get any sound from my headphones when they're plugged into the dri've, but do get sound when they're plugged into the Creative Labs remote control for my speakers. I get no sound from my mic when it's plugged into the mic jack on the Platinum dri've either. I haven't tested it with another jack yet, but assume it'd work.
I also notice in my Windows mixer, that the option for Line In/Mic 2 is no longer there, either in the main part, or under Recording. Line In/Mic 2 is the mic jack on the Platinum Dri've.
The Platinum dri've works fine otherwise. I can use the firewire port on it and I know it's receiving power because I can see the red light in the optical connector. To be sure, I went back inside my computer and doublechecked the connections. It IS hooked up properly.
How can I get the jacks to work again, short of uninstalling/reinstalling the driver? I don't think this is necessary because the sound works otherwise. Thanks all!

The Audigy dri've works from three different cables. One is the power cable, one is the IEEE394 cable, and the last is the data cable. If the power cable and IEEE394 cables are connected, but the data cable is not fully seated, you will see power from the optical output and the 394 port will work, but the inputs and outputs will not work or be seen by the Windows mixer.
I would definitely try reseating that data cable. Also make sure that none of the pins are bent. If that doesn't work, you may want to try moving the card to different slots.

  • SB Audigy Platinum Microphone Line2/Mic2 settings h

I have the original SB Audigy Platinum that includes the external bay device. When plugging a headset into the headphone and line2/mic2 connectors, the headphones work and the microphone on the headset does not. I have done some investigation and it appears that the default audio in device is the microphone. I believe that the microphone points to the mic in connector on the PCI soundcard. If I use the Sound Mixer I can manually change the audio in from microphone to line/mic2 and the headset microphone works. However if I stop the using the microphone and then try and use it again I discover that the setting has been changed back to microphone. So everytime we want to use the microphone we must go to the sound mixer and manually make the change. Is there anyway to save the setting line2/mic2 to make it permanent? One of the reasons for having the external bay device to allow the headet to be connected and disconnected without reaching around the back. I am tryng to make this easy for my wife to use (with Skype) without the hassle of the extras ste
    ps.
    Thanks.

Jeremey, thanks for your reply. This is one of those classic issues where the application folk (like IM clients and Skype) say to ask the SB folk what can be done and you (the SB folk) ask if the application owners can change their applications. So I am exploring options. Gi'ven that we don't use the 'mic in' (mic - microphone) connector on the PCI card, is there any way to reset the Audigy so that the external bay line/mic2 can be recognized as mic or the microphone? Perhaps there's a jumper or soft switch setting? Otherwise, is there anyway at all from the SB side (card, jumpers, drivers, Creative apps) to set the microphone to line2/mic2? Like I say I am looking for ideas from the SB side.
    Thanks again for your reponse.

  • Audigy Platinum Ex Line In Quest

I recently re-installed my Soundblaster Audigy Platinum Ex card on a new hard dri've - it's worked properly in the past. I have run the installation cd and gone to the Soundblaster website for all the latest drivers. On my external module I am unable to get audio to input through the line-ins to (Aux in 2, Mic/Aux 2, and 394). No monitor, no capture (though the headphone jack works properly, and the standard soundcard works properly). I've checked my connections. I'm very experienced with audio software and have been unable to figure this out.
The one thing that might fix this that I am unable to find - is there a control panel setting somewhere that verifys that input should be coming through the ex Module? Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Hi there " bucktoothmummy". I just recieved this same problem today. Tryed to solve it via software updates and messing with IRQ stuff. None of that helped. I desperately tryed every line-in port there is and suddenly I heard loud static coming from the speakers.
What I found out was that the cable (the wide one) on the backpanel has been someway corrupted, and needed only a few twitches (pull it up and down). So the problem in my case was purely the low quality of the jack OR the cable. The ports them selves are just fine.
Email me if you wish to ask some more, hope this helps

  • Audigy platinum pinouts for dri

I have an original Audigy platinum with the connections for a dri've bay - which I did not purchase. My new case allows for a front panel microphone and headphone (as well as other connections) in addition to the back panel ones. After installing the audigy card in it - these connections no longer work =(
Since the dri've bay comes with mircorphoone and headphone outputs - I assume there are appropriate pins on the dri've bay connection that (if identified) - could be connected to my computers froont panel enabeling the use of these with the audigy card and not just the sound system proved with the mobo. Does someone have accurate information about the pinouts for the dri'vebay that are on the Audigy card? And, would you be gracious enough to supply me with this information.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Greetings again and thank you Jeremy for the fast response - FYI I did look for this information on the web before coming here to post. Based on what I gathered from the article you attached was that: . I could connect my front panel headset connections to pins 0, and 2 ( General purpose output , general purpose output 2 and ground) (or should they go to the ones labeled spdif?) 2. I could connect the microphone connections to pins 5 and 6 (spdif input signal and ground) I hate to be a pain but I really don't feel like messing up anything either and maybe a moment of your time can save me a lot of issues later. • Audigy Platinum Ex Windows 7 SPDIF IN not working

Audigy Platinum Ex Windows 7 SPDIF IN not working? I have an old Audigy Platinum Ex that has served me well, until now when I have a new Windows 7 x64 PC (RTM). SPDIF IN no longer works, though everything else does (including SPDIF OUT). I've tried the current and beta drivers for the card, and no difference.
In Windows Vista x64 I could use ASIO drivers with my M-Audio ProFire 60 while using the Audigy for PC audio. Most often this was for skype, which I would set to use SPDIF IN/OUT which I then connected to the ProFires SPDIF OUT/IN. Using the ProFire mixing tool, I could control which mics and levels went to the Audigy while not interfereing with the ASIO drivers recording the mics. The ProFire also recorded the SPDIF OUT from the Audigy to caputre the person on Skype to their own audio track. This is a podcast producer's heaven, and I miss it!
If it's a known issue (SPDIF IN / Win 7), I've had this card through 4 PC upgrades and it's served me well enough I don't mind buying new. The Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Elite Pro looks to be the current version of my Ex - are there any Windows 7 issues currently that would stop me from using it in the role above? I will miss the FireWire port, a shame they dropped that.

Well basically it is possible, and I've found this out. Apparently Dell released a driver or something that allows it to work, but then only if you install a 3rd party modified xp version of the creative suite. I don't remember where I found it, but it was through google... Using some term including x-fi, dts, and vista.... Can't seem to find it now. Anyway, it had a download for the whole creative suite that was modified from the xp version for Vista, however it was buggy as hell, caused driver issues and blue screens, and ended up causing me to have to reinstall Vista altogether again. In other words, it's possible, but I don't recommend it until it's officially supported... Don't know when this will be yet... *crosses fingers*
Luckily I've got a dual OS system with XP too, and I switch to that when I want to use my Xbox 360... However due to Microsoft also being terrible in that department... I now get entertainment off of its 3 red lights... (For those of you who don't know, 3 red lights = hardware error. Sending into microsoft for repair typically is a 2 month process... I'm still waiting on my prepaid shipping box to arri've and it's been 4 days... Will be a similar wait to get it to them, 4-6 weeks for them to actually repair, and another week or so to get it all shipped back). Although even when the console worked, my dsl modem sometimes cut out when playing on Xbox li've and dropped signals, reported errors, etc.
What is with the companies producing technology nowadays? I just want to play Gears in 5. on Xbox li've... *cries*Message Edited by Supercoolyo on 07-22-20070:54 AM

  • Microphone Not Working With Audigy Platinum

I used creative surround mixer to enable Mic2 on the external device for my Audigy Platinum Ex. I tested it using sound recorder and everything works fine. However, everytime I try to play a game (BF2, CS) it doesn't work, and when I go back into surround mixer Mic2 is gone and it goes back to Microphone.
This keeps happened even though I'm putting Mic2 where it belongs on the right side. When I checked windows volume it is still located there under playback and recording. But for some reason it keeps disappearing in creative surround mixer. Anyone have any suggestions?Message Edited by amoretto on 2-08-2005 02:28 AM

    amoretto,
That's because some games do not support secondary mic in port. Those games would usually always default audio mixer setting back to what it does/can support. Games like CounterStrike have some workaround tweak that you can find here in their forum but I'm afraid BF2 does not have a similar tweak. You can check up EA support page for BF2.

  • Dolby 5.1 with Windows 7 using an Audigy Platinum EX

    Hello.
    Long story short.
I've mashed together three old PC's to make one reasonably ok one as a media center.
I have an old MSI motherboard, running an AMD XP 2.GB Chip with .25GB of Ram and an AGP Video card (Soon to be upgraded to an ATI 4850 AGP Card with HDMI out.
My trusty Audigy Platinum EX has been re used (again!) and after finding some drivers, everything seems to be ok!
    What's the problem you ask?
I cant seem to get true 5. surround, via the on board optical out (speaker calibration wont play front centre, sub or rear speakers.)
I'm running the lot through a Creative 5. Inspire speaker system (using the optical input) if i let the Inspire system sort out the sound, I can get surround, but only if i switch on the 5. manually, and like I said, it won't play via the speaker test in windows or the creative consul on screen.
Am I missing something real simple, or is this an issue anyone else has had dealings with?
Also (as if that weren't enough) there doesn't seem to be any support for the EAX and ESS systems, and I cant use the remote control that came with the Platinum EX.
If anyone can offer any sugestions, I'd be most grateful.
    With Thanks.
    Andrew. (UK)

    Hello again.
I've got hold of a Vista Support Pack that supposedly fixes loads of the issues I've got with an old card on Windows 7, I've pasted the notebook specs and details that came with it, and if you've any idea how I can put a downloud link on this forum so you can download it from me, you are more than welcome to try it. I'm not knowledged enough to put a link on here, but others have done it, so it must be possible... Any Ideas?
    Here Goes!!!

The application does not support Windows Vista 64-bit and setup will close with an error message.
    - WaveRT Pull Mode enabled by default
Does not seem to cause any problems, but if you ever need to disable it, follow these steps:
    - run the Registry Editor (Regedit) and open the following registry tree:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class
    - select Search (or press the F3 key) and type EnableWaveRTPullMode, deleting the value when found.
    Restart the computer.
For more information on WaveRT, access:

    - Built-in Decoder (requires Windows Vista Service Pack )
To use the built-in decoder, make sure it is enabled in Audio Console.
Select ?SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy (WDM))? as the output device of
your player and then configure the AC3/DTS filter to send the stream
    through SPDIF.
When you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.
    - EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX
EAX effects only work in 4., 5. e 7. speaker settings.
Advanced EQ and Special FX only work in 2. speakers or Headphone settings.
    - EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX (Using SPDIF Out)
All effects work properly, but when you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.
    - There is no sound in games with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy
Disable Advanced EQ and Special FX selecting ?No effects? before running the game or program.
    - Equalizer settings are lost
It happens after you run a game with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy. This issue also occurs in Windows XP, so it is not specific to this Windows Vista driver.
When you restart the computer or run Equalizer, the saved setting is automatically loaded.
    - No sound when CMSS is enabled using Audio Console (4. or more speakers)
Just move the Stereo Focus slider and set it back to the desired position, even if it is 0 (zero). Once the setting is saved, works properly. This issue does not affect EAX Settings.
    - Windows Vista MIDI Device Configuration Utility
Use this utility to change the MIDI playback device for 32-bit and 64-bit applications.
The driver installer automatically selects the first hardware MIDI synthesizer found.
Note: The Audigy 2 ZS Notebook (PCMCIA) does not have a hardware synthesizer.
    Some screenshots:
    - Equalizer:
    - Stereo Surround:
    - Decoder:
    - Mplayer Classic: select ?SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy (WDM))? as the output device of
    your player
    - Mplayer Classic: configure the AC3/DTS filter to send the stream through SPDIF
    - Hardware MIDI:
Hope this is of some help?
Let me know if you've any idea how to upload the programme!!
    Kind regards.
    Andrew.

  • Soundblaster audigy platinum jack panel compatibility with audigy 2 or audigy 2

Can I use a Soundblaster audigy platinum dri've (the front case jack panel) with an audigy 2 or audigy 2 zs sound card? Is it compatible? This is so I don't have to by a platinum version of the audigy 2 or audigy 2zs and spend the money on another dri've panel just to upgrade the sound card.

As both the Audigy and Audigy 2 lines report they are compatible with WinXP, is there any reason I wouldn't be able to use my Audigy Platinum system I bought in 200 with a suped up new Dell Dimention desktop system I just bought? I guess the question behind the question is, what's the difference between the Audigy and Audigy 2 besides just the parts not being compatible with each other and the true bit thing fixed? Thanks!

  • Audigy Platinum

    Hi
I have purchased from E-bay. The seller did not have a remote control, nor the software bundle. Where can I download software / instructions etc, or where can I purchase these items.
Problem, when I plug my guitar into the console I don't get sound through the computer. What am I doing wrong? It works OK when plugged into the mic input.
    Thanks in advance.

Long time ago that i post on this forum(96khz.tk isn't used for years LOL).
    Anyway here i go.
I downgraded soundcard. I had Audigy2zs, but now i use Audigy Platinum EX (refurbush, but with internal audigy dri've bay) .
So no DVD-A player that the Audigy2zs had(DVD-A mediasource).
But i discovered that PowerDVD7 can play DVD-A (Also Foobar2000 with dvdadecoder plugin).
My question is this: I thought that the Audigy Platinum EX was 96KHz/24bit.
I read on internet that the digital audio processor downmix to 48KHz/6bit. Is this true?
Also I can play DVD-A on it (i use powerdvd7, since DVD-A mediasource player isn't supported with Audigy Platinum EX) and as output i use S/P-dif(digital audio to 5. amplifier s/p-dif input) . And it plays advanced resolution 92KHz/24bit. Or powerdvd7 plays it, and i got sound out of the amplifier that's connected with s/p-dif.
But how does the soundcard manage it's is it bad forthe card, since it should support up to 96KHz/24bit's Or does the soundcard downsample the 92KHz/24bit to 44.KHz/6bit on s/p-dif output, like what people experienced with Audigy cards).

  • Audigy Platinum Ex and XP and M

Have taken new PC back and got rid of Vista and had XP installed in the hope it would play an external Audigy Platinum Ex. The shop did not instal the game port. The midi I/O are on the front of?the box but the evolution MK-25 keyboard?won't make any sound - the MIDI device options listed are only?SB Audigy MIDI Port (DCOO).
