SB Audigy ZS EAX prol

I have installed the sb adudigy zs and then updated the drivers but when i go to play games that use eax the game does not recognize that the card has that ability. the wierd thing is i also have windows xp 64bit installed on another partition on my computer and everything works fine there except i cant seem to get this sub to work with it.
the way i have the hardware configured is i have the creative home theater cables hooked up to my pioneer reci'ver in a 5. output.
if there is anything anyone can do to walk me through getting this working...i would be much apreciati've...for i have been trying to get this working for almost 2 days and it is getting agrivating because i know this is a great card.
thnx....Eric

BigBoss. From all the reading I did and the questions that I asked Creative, including using the X-Fi driver, the word from the top really is that it isn't recommended. It's just not a supported configuration. It may work, but I'm betting there may be some problems like your seeing now. I just downloaded and installed the latest drivers that do support the Audigy 2ZS card, and so far (knock on wood), everything seems to be working extremely well.
I decided to download the driver first and let the install do its thing. When it couldn't erase all the driver files, obviously because they were still acti've, I rebooted in safe mode and ran DriverCleaner Pro. It removed all the rest of the files. Rebooted normally and continued the installation. So far, as I've said, all is good! But I'll keep testing to see for sure. Good luck!

  • Good News? Audigy with EAX - Working in Win 7 Beta

2Good News? Audigy with EAX - Working in Win 7 Beta} Helo!
First I have instaled the Audigy support pack and my old Audigy MP3+ works fine (in/out, Game port, Creative Audio Console, SoundFont bank manager ) but the EAX console do not run and the EAX in Audio Console have only the enviroments, not the EQ and FX. In other battle I have instaled the Audio HQ of
original installation CD. I stoped the install before the drivers... I want only the Audio HQ working and in the old EAX console I can configure the ENV variables. Then I read a post where I heard speak about the PAX PCI Audigy OS V6.25, well... why not try this too? Run the driver deinstallation and restart.
Then the driver install runs and I see the modem link light indicate a download (?) next the classic blue window of death appear.
Shut down windows and restart and all works fine including the EAX in the Audio Console with ENV, EQ, FX options. The old EAX console works fine and I can configure all the effects. Now only the Creative Game port don't install but I make the Update driver using the one in Audigy support pack and now all works fine.
I hope wich this can help somebody...

' - any input maybe on solving the microphone mess maybe ? i can hear from speakers the microphone input, but the signal it doesnt seem to get through the drivers or any windows routine that can recognise and control it, its like its going from microphone directly to speakers without any app or windows to be able to trace it or sense it ...
    - from encoder switcher, which encoder should i prefer to leave on? and whats the difference? what applications does it affect ?

  • Audigy 2 - EAX-Console crashes everyti

    Hi,
I own the Audigy 2 ZS and have some trouble with the EAX-Console.
When I want to change some settings there (CMSS f.e.) the software just hangs up.
Like 80% of the time and I am not able to restart it, until I do a reboot.
I have the latest drivers, so I tryd that already.
    Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem as you guys, I have Audigy2 ZS retail and everything was working fine until I got Silent Hunter 3. It was suggested I re-install the soundcard drivers/software so I tried that. Now my EAX console, Graphic Equalizer, surround sound mixer, creative speaker settings will not open. I've also tried a system restore, uninstall, re-install using the cleansweep method, drivers from disk and online got all updates. I've repeated this four or fi've times and Still nothing. When I tried to open the EQ an error pops up that says nothing in it except a red X. EAX console says "no components registered".
I hope I don't have to re-install Windows just to get this soundcard software working properly agian.
    Thanks

  • Audigy 4 EAX not working in CounterStrike Condition Z

Hi, I need help with my new sound card. I am running Windows XP Home edition. I recently bought the Audigy 4 SoundBlaster. Things work great when I am listening to music or just talking in ventrilo. However whenever I load my CounterStrike Condition Zero the EAX effects seem to turn off. I bought the sound card for the enhanced game play but it is useless if it's not gonna work in the game. Could someone please help me asap. I am getting very frustrated and don't know what to do to fix the problem.

Make sure eax is enabled ingame by typing s_eax in the console. Sometimes even if you set in on at the options it goes off ingame.

  • Audigy 4 EAX Control Panel - ORIGINAL SOUND ALWAYS HEARD NO MATTER W

I'm using an Audigy 4. On XP, would?use EAX to normalize the wave output signal when participating in an online meeting. I would add a Normalizer and then turn down the original sound. On Vista, the original sound is ALWAYS heard even if I set it to -infinity?the Master Tab and also Wave setting of the source tab. The normalizer MIGHT be working, but I can't tell because the original sound is still heard, and so it doesn't not seem that the normalize is doing anything.
This seems like a driver bug. Is there ANY way to make the Original Sound silent so that only the signal passed through the Normalizer is heard? This worked fine in XP, but not Vista. Again, I'm using an Audigy 4. Thanks,?J.Message Edited by JReality on 05-29-20070:2 AM

  • Audigy and EAX 4

Im trying to find this file AUD_EAX4DRV_0303.exe
Im using an original audgiy card and the driver download page says I need this driver to install the updates to the control panel and mixer. Ive tried installing them with just the driver listed but I get an error saying im missing a the driver. So my question is where do I get this file?Message Edited by gomjabar on 0-02-2006 04:48 AM

Yep, I'm running Windows XP Professional SP2. I'm also running the ZSN in Advanced Mode, Maximum setting (using the latest Feature Mode Selection Utility, which replaces the Performance Utility). I can also alleviate the sound effects issue in Uru by switching the ZSN to Standard Performance, but I lose any hardware acceleration and EAX 4.0 effects. More evidence that EAX 4.0 could be at fault.
When I was using the Performance Utility to analyze my system, it would always suggest Standard Performance, which didn't make much sense to me, given my laptop is a P4 3GHz with GB of DDR RAM.

  • Eax problems in ga

I haven't been able to find quite this problem listed, although due to the conditions im sure it cant be isolated.
A few years ago i had an Audigy card and it was great, except when you enabled eax in games. This is not restricted to any one game, its happened on every single one i've tried. When eax was enabled, any in-game music stopped and the sound became distant and very echoy. I wasnt too worried about this at the time since it was a second hand card and just assumed it was an isolated problem.
Recently i bought an Audigy 2 zs, and unfortunatly the exact same problem is still there. Add to that now i have a 5. system, as opposed to a 2. system with the audigy, and that has been having some major problems as well. Quite often no sound will come through at all unless i set the speaker settings to 2/2. system. I have been unable to determine what is causing this, and i have the most recent drivers so thats not it.
I doubt very much its hardware conflicts, as almost every part of my computer has been upgraded since i had the first audigy.
EAX is one of the big selling points of the creative cards, it'd be nice if i could have it working so any help would be appreciated.

Yes its recognised as a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM). All the supplied applications work, although playcenter and speaker settings have frozen a few times and wouldnt start again till i rebooted. The only audio options in the game that effect it are turning on eax. I assume the games do support this, otherwise they wouldnt have the option to turn eax on. Some of them only had that option and the volume able to be changed. Currently the card is sitting in the 4th slot, with nothing in the 5th, so it shouldnt be having any conflicts that way. I just find it really strange that its the exact same problem i had with my first audigy.

  • Are the Audigy programs worth installi

I just bought a used Creative Audigy SB394 EAX HD Sound card, Model SB0090. It came with the install disk, but I didn't install anything from it. Rather, I installed the latest drivers from the Creative sight that are dated 2006. All works well.
What I'm wondering is whether or not it's worth installing the programs that came with the Audigy CD. Are any of these needed or essential?:
    * Soundblaster Audigy (Takes 60mb of space, compared to the 42mb from the driver on the website. Not sure what the difference would be.)
    * Oozic Player (What is this? Do I need it if I have WinAmp and WMP0?)
    * EAX Goldmine Demo (a demo, but is it worth checking out?)
    * Soundfont Showcase (not sure what this is)
    * FireNet 2.0
    * SonicBox Tuner
I've got Windows XP Pro sp2 for my OS. I know a lot of this software can be "bloatware", so I figured I can ask about it here to get opinions before putting it on my hard dri've. Thanks.Message Edited by vonshep on 0-25-20070:0 PM

  • Audigy card identificat

I have just bought a SB Audigy but I cannot seem to get any driver to install. I get the "soported hardware not detected" type message. I think I need to identify the card.
    Model: SB0090
    Audigy SB394 EAX Advanced HD
    Serial: MSB009023043078
Showing in hardware manager as: PCI\VEN_02&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_004002&REV_03\4&23C0BC& 0&50F0
Can anyone shed some light on this before it dri'ves me nuts? Unlike modern day manufacturers that use unified driver packages it seems that SB are card specific? Surely not?
    Thanks for any help

If you don?'t get drivers installed by running the ctzapxx.exe then,
maybe you need to use this method -

    or PAX drivers
    http://www.driverheaven.net/forumdisplay.php?f=33

  • Audigy board is recording in mono when using "what you hear" or "wave" m

I have an Audigy SB394 EAX HD Sound card, Model SB0090. I've installed the latest drivers with XP Pro, and the card runs just fine for games and such. However, when I try to record with it using "Wave" or "What You Hear" mode, it comes out sounding like it's in mono mode. My sound and music is not playing in mono, so why would it be recording that way?Message Edited by vonshep on 02-26-200805:42 PM

NI'll give them a try and post back here with the results - am I correct in assuming the driver pack you speak of is located here? If so, another post by daniel says specifically that his pack doesn't enable the feature, but I'm going to try anyway.
EDIT: Nope, no luck, didn't enable the feature.

If you are playing computer games, the X-Fi's Virtual 3D via CMSS gives a highly realistic surround sound over headphones.
It is important to remember that if you do wish to play a 5. encoded file like Dolby or DTS soundtracks, you will need to turn CMSS off. Otherwise you might not receive each discreet channel.

  • EAX issues in games with Audigy SE, one way or the ot

Hello everyone. I hope I'm asking for help in the correct forum. If not, please forgive my noobishness. =)?I don't know what's wrong, but EAX in Bioshock has terrible issues. I have XPx64 SP2, Audigy SE and when my corvette was new, I obtained SoundBlaster drivers specifically for x64 from April 06. But these were terrible. In many games (f.e. FEAR) the sound was terribly distorted after a while with unbearable loud mechanic buzzing. I had a serious issue in Oblivion as it was rebooting my computer when I was loading a game and it took me a while until I realized that the x64 drivers are causing it. I got rid of them and installed reference drivers I bought on CD with the card and everything was fine. Now Bioshock came out. Overall the EAX works good in it, but I have some serious crackling. I tried to lower the sound channels/streams values in INI, but it didn't remove crackling. So I though I would update drivers again. Indeed, Creative has released unified drivers for XP and Vista last July. I installed them, launched Bioshock with EAX ON, loaded a game and ... AARGH, my ears! The sound was like zapping loudly and rapidly, a real acoustic horror. This means I have serious EAX issues with all newer drivers than the reference ones on CD, but even with the new ones I have crackling in Bioshock anyway, with addition of the audio distortion. I have tried to turn off EAX and use CMMS3D instead, with Reverb which doesn't seem to cause any problems in BS. The sound was deep and rich, except that the crackling and stuttering is still there!?No flawless sound for me. Is my Soundblaster physically borked or something... =(?

Well, I know that with SE, EAX processing is left for the CPU. You think this would be the source of problem?
I have no option to select from software or hardware mode in games' audio menu, devs normally don't do add that option to audio menus (at least I never seen it in any game yet). In games I can normally only select whether I want EAX or not, or just like in case of BioShock, whether I want to turn Reverb on or off, and it would be left for the drivers to call the CPU to process EAX.Message Edited by RogueKeeper on 0-6-200707:5 AM
