SB Live! 5.1 Bass/Treble turn g

Hello!
I've been using SBLi've! 5. for some about 2,5 years and everything was just wonderful. Till today morning. When i turn on computer and try to play my favourite RadioABF i didint hear enything. I turn winamp and my speakers to max. Still silence. When I turn on Creative Surround Mixer i realized that everything has change. Some chanels are disabled, turn to min. When I try to enable them I realized that Bass/Treble are turn off and there is no possibility to turn them on. It has happened for the first time. Also in windows sound settings Im not able to adjust or even turn on bass/trebles.
I have read some topic but they were about SB Li've 24bit, some people say that this soundcard does not support bass/treble in Surround Mixer. But SBLi've! 5. does support and Ive been using it for all the time whenever I want.
I try to uninstall all creative drivers (I even try step by step cleanswep/uninstall from the Technical issues written by Creative), install all drivers as I used to do but nothing has change. The strangest thing is at the end of instalation one of the process does not end (I use Device Menager to end it, only then instalation is finished). It doesnt happend before too...
Can anyone help me PLS?

Ok no help is needed enymore :smileyvery-happy: I realized that somehow my onboard buildin soundcard has turn on and doesnt allowed SB to work correctly. Ive turn off AC97 Audio in bios (something like that) and everything works just great. But the strangest thing is still unresolve... how does it happen that it changed itselfs...

What are the flat frequency settings for bass & treble knobs on X-Fi Elite Pro?

Ok, I have the X-Fi Elite Pro and I need to set its bass & treble levels (volume control panel) to a flat frequency response setting. I noticed that the default value given by creative is 50% for bass level and 50% for treble level. So, what is the flat frequency response setting for bass and treble knobs? 0% or 50%?

Ok, I get the picture. The reason why I asked this question came up when I bought a new set of monitors (the Edirol MA-15DBK). I found out that after changing speakers (I had a set of Philips SPC-3208) the new ones were set to 0% boost/cut for bass/treble, but the sound came out quite bassy in an almost irritating level. So, I thought that maybe my card's bass levels were somewhat boosted. I guess now some lower frequencies are revealed, so I have to take care of my room acoustics. However the reviews for the Edirols gave low bass levels, so this gets more complicated. I am still in a 30-days trial, so maybe I will have a look at the Gigaworks T40 series II and I'll see what happens then...

Extigy Mixer resets bass,treble,fader to zero on resta

I had the Audigy 2NX installed and I did a complete de-installation and installed an Extigy with the original disk, then went to the web and got the three updates. I'm using the Extigy because I have a 5. sound system and the Audigy would NOT upmix external stereo to 5. sound, the Extigy does this with CMSS. When I restart the computer, the Creative Mixer resets three sliders (bass, treble, and fader) all the way down (off, off, rear). The other sliders on the mixer retain their settings. What is causing this and how can I fix it's

Adjusting bass/treble for Thunderbolt display speakers?

My new refurbished Thunderbolt display speakers cut out higher range of speaking voices. I had to return to using the Retina MacBook Pro speakers to hear a conversation over Skype. Is there a way to adjust the bass/treble balance?

No way with any stock software. Not sure if any third party software will work. However I have no issues with voice quality but I do not use Skype.

Greetings. I just installed a fresh new copy of Windows XP Professional-- and decided it was a good idea to upgrade from my Li've! value from 999 to a better sound card...At least so?I hoped. I purchased this card from Wal-Mart the other night, and if it's anything like the other sound cards purchased at mega-retailers, I am going to be in for a huge headache, aren't I?Anyway, to the point:? When I run creative diagnostics, both the left, and the right channel, come out of the left and right, and right and left channel, respecti'vely... I can take one ear off left, and hear "left channel" in my right channel, and vice versa. Problem #2: I am unable to adjust my bass or my treble on the sound card. What about the inability to adjust bass and treble? I google'd a bunch of different phrases about Audigy SE cards, and it seems they don't have that functionality. Am I missing something here?I installed the EAX control panel and that didn't help. Edit: Okay, so the left and right channel part is my problem-- but I have a headset by Sennheiser that has such a small headphone jack, it has to be halfway plugged into the sound card, in order for me to get full audio. I have just re-installed my audigy 2 nx and all related software and the controls for bass and treble are now greyed out and unusable, is this a software problem, i have videlogic fi've one speakers, what can i do to rectify it's

For the Audigy 2 NX , the tone controls are greyed out as this feature is not supported. You can use the Creative Graphic Equalizer application to do the bass and treble adjustments.

Can't I save Audio (bass/treble) changes in Quicktime Pro???

I bought Quicktime Pro. They have some handy A/V controls. Cool! I enhanced the bass and treble settings for an AIFF file and I could NOT save the changes. Doh! Why in the world would a Pro program only let you change the playback and not the editing option??
Hopefully I am just overlooking something. I have an hour and a half long file that I want to adjust without chopping it into many pieces to throw into another program. THanks!!!

QuickTime version 6 allowed volume adjustments to be "saved" with the file. I hope this is just a "bug" in version 7.
You're not "overlooking" anything. It's "in there", just not "working" properly. I've tried with the same AppleScripts that worked with QT 6. No luck. Maybe in the next upgrade?

Does nano 5g support manual adjustment of bass & treble

I would like to purchase ipod nano 5g. Am aware that nano possess some 22 preset equalizers. But, does it have the facility to manually adjust bass and treble switching off the preset equalizer. I do not mean to tweak the equaliser to create a new setting.

I am having the same problems: I have win 7 64 bit and Soundblaster li've 24 bit external and get no bass when playing films/music, even though It's recognized. I have the latest win 7 driver for this card. In audio control panel I don't have the "Bass redirection" option.
?*I have tried the link above but cannot install since it says "this installation requires that you have the latest version of the installed on your system. Please download and install this before continuing". This absolutely makes no sense to me. What could it be that I need to download?
*I have tried ?SB P7X Series Support Pack 2.0 but I does not recognize my soundcard.
*I have tried older drivers, but no luck
*I have the old installation cd, but no ODD on my new computer.
Is there any way of getting around this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!

SB Live! 24-bit: mic turn off when starting to pl

Here is my problem:
When I'm talking with Teamspeak and start to play Call of Duty 2, my mic shuts down. Meaning the REC bar goes down. So after I have opened the game, I have to go back to windows and put from the mixer REC bar up again so that others can hear me.
The part which annoying is that I can speak for quite a long time, until I notice that no one is answering to me, then I remember that the mic is off
So if anyone has a good idea how to keep the REC bar always up, let me know. I have a friend who has the same card and same problem.
And my headset is creative HS-600 (no usb).

It's obvious that either your teamspeak or COD have problem and not because of the soundcard so if you think it's something to do with the soundcard then gd luck to you.

Control bass and treble in System Pref

Is there a plugin or an add-on that will allow me to control bass and treble output from my Macbook's soundcard?

when you click on "window" in the menu bar, there is and euqualizer. You can control the bass/treble and preamp levels from there. Other than that, there is no other option. Why kind of setup do you use? Because from the macbook speaker it won't make much of a difference.

I have the Logitech X-530 (5.) speaker system connected to my X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card. In the Vista Speaker Setup, it says to select "full-range speakers." As far as I know, the default "Bass Redirection" scheme that comes with Sound Blasters will redirect bass from the 5 channels to the subwoofer. Not the opposite. Also notice, that most speakers have a built-in crossover network that does just that. So even if you did redirect the bass to the speakers from the soundcard it would end up in the subwoofer. However when doing the redirection on the soundcard in the digital domain, they have to normalize the signal to avoid clipping. This explains the "lower" bass level you are experiencing with bass redirection set to on. If your speakers didn't have a cross-over network, you wouldn't hear anything from the sub unless you enabled "bass redirection"?Now I don't think that behaviour would change in games, but games do tend to have more "bassy" sound. My suggestion is to keep "Bass Redirection" off under all circumstances and use the Equalizer or the Subwoofer volume knob (most 5. systems have one) to bring the level to your liking. PS:? The X-Fi also has a "+5dB Bass Boost" option to alleviate the effects of normalization, which you can experiment with.

just a suggestion: try soundflower or Audio Hijack Pro. I know with the 2nd one, you can control the bass, treble, and all that, with anything that makes sound, from itunes, to Safari, DVD player, Skype ( I guess) and other stuff. Worth the $, IMO, so in answer to your question dbumgardner1, no, no you can't. I suppose in that sense, Windows has us at a loss. We also need 2nd party stuff to play BluRay's, too. However, I haven't seen any Macintosh viruses (virii?) for a long long time....
