SB Wireless Music - Queue Funct

I love my Wireless Music system. The only problem is I can't seem to get it to queue a list of songs.
Everytime I go through the list on the reciever, if I hit play, it stops the song that is playing instead of queuing it up for play AFTER the current song. Is there something I can do to get this to happen?

You have to press AND HOLD the play button to add tracks to the end of the now playing queue. See the user's guide pages 29 - 3.

  • Wireless Music doesn't work with new software

    Hello-
    I can't get my wireless music to work after I update the software to the latest version. The only one that will work is when I install it from the CD. But, I would like to use the most recent version of the software. As soon as I update, the Media Server won't launch on my computer. I am using a linksys WRT54G wireless router. If I check DHCP clients, the wireless music receiver is successfully getting an IP address. I have tried all of the things that linksys suggested (disable WEP, firewall, broadcast SSID, etc...) to no avail. Has anyone gotten the latest media server software to work with WRT54G? I have tried it on both my XP and W2K machine, with the same results (doesn't work).
    Thanks,
    Rich

    <SPAN>Hi Jeremy
    <SPAN>I have the similar problem, I've installed the software on my desktop, no error messages (apart from the certificate) and everything seems to be fine. After about 2 minutes the message appears that the network is not ready and consequently the media server is not running.
    <SPAN>Without the server running I can't setup the Network and the entire system is not working. I could ping it but that was about it.
    <SPAN>I've reset my router, renamed the SSID, tried with and without WEP, MAC, without firewall, opened a new account on my desktop with admin rights installed the software again into a new folder - result still not working, same error message.
    <SPAN>To make really bad, I installed it on my laptop, same procedure and it works fine! So it seem that it has nothing to do with my wireless devices or configurations, there must be a problem while setting up the software on my desktop.
    <SPAN>I really would appreciate your help a lot!

  • Soundblaster Wireless Music - receiver is connected but no so

    I have a SB Wireless music receiver (purchased in March '05).
    It was working just fine for 3 months, then nothing. After several attempts reistalling, rebooting, etc (including several emails back and forth with Creative Americas Cusotmer Support, it was determined that my receiver might be defecti've. I was given an RMA#, I returned the receiver (under warranty), and got it back yesterday.
    I am experiencing the SAME problem I was experiencing before I sent it in (see below).
    My wireless receiver IS DEFINTITELY communicating through my wireless router, as I can clearly see my library, playlists, etc. on the RF remote display. When I try to play music, I can access my library, playlists, etc. I select a track and hit the play button. Everything shows up on the remote display, but the counter is not counting, e.g. 00:00:00 is displayed in the upper left hand corner of the RF, and consequently, I get no sound from my stereo, and yes, it IS connected correctly via the RCA cables.
    Any suggestions? And thanks in advance,
    Chris

    Do you mean you entered 3 characters to generate your WEP key? A WEP 28 key is normally represented as a string of 26 hexadecimal digits (valid hexadecimal digits are 0 through F, where decimal is 0 through 9). You may enter a passphrase to generate your hex key, that's what I did on my Netgear router, but then the actual WEP key shows up in my Key field in the router setup as a string of 26 hex digits. If you just enter 3 regular characters this represents a string of 26 hex numbers. Here's some examples of ASCII character to hex conversions; the letter -lower case "g" is a hex "67", a space " " is a hex "20", a upper case "L" is a hex "4C". It is the string of 26 hex digits that must be entered into the wireless music setup for WEP 28.

  • Want wireless music, but wired internet

    is there a way to use the airport express for my music, but then run an ethernet cable stright to my computer, and use them both at the sametime. (to use the wireless music i have had to switch to wireless airport, then the internet doest work w/ the ethernet connected to my computer)

    "i need the computer to be connected not wirelessly, but to the computer"
    I am not sure what this means?
    If you get a cheap router, you can connect via ethernet. Your express will join the network wirelessly.

  • Wireless music player with Time Capsule :advice sought

    Hi,
    All my music files in my iTunes library are stored on my Time Capsule.
    I would like to purchase a wireless music player (Squeezebox or similar, not Mac TV) that could directly access and play the music stored on my Time Capsule, without the need for Mac Book to be switched on. From the few wireless music players I have looked at, I get the impression (possibly false) that I would need the music player's client software installed on the Mac Book to serve the music to the player, which implies that the Mac Book needs to be switched on when the music player is in use (correct/false??)
    Can any one please give me some advice here? Is my understanding correct? Is there a simple way to configure my wireless network to allow a music player to play files directly from the Time Capsule? Can you recommend a particular music player that would allow me to do this?

    I would expect exactly what you are getting.
    Wireless is not going to transfer real world speeds higher than about link speed divided by 3, maybe even 4.
    Find your link speed. Hold down the option key and click the wireless fan in the top menu area.
    Take the transmit rate and divide by 3..
    You should realise that wireless is limited by Apple to 130Mbps at 2.4ghz although in newer equipment you can achieve 217Mbps.
    For 5ghz the speed will be 450Mbps in the same room but drops off quickly.. the above shot is with the TC in the next room.. max link speed dropped from 450 to 162 as drop off at 5ghz is very rapid.

  • Wireless Music System Issue in Windows 7

    I've been using the wireless music system for a few years and love it. However, I have an issue with it in Windows 7. all the software installs fine and appears to be functioning correctly. I did notice that the updated software driver does give me a network not ready error.
    The main issue I have been unable to solve is when starting the media server it shows it's running at the address of 27.0.0. not the address of the machine. With it running at this address the receiver never can find the server.
    I haven't been able to configure the receiver as I get a error message saying there is a problem with the wirelss network. when i do plug in the receiver, it lists the name I named it under XP. I am able to ping the device from Windows 7 as well as two other XP machines so it has retained it's address. When I boot back into XP it connects fine. I don't think the issue is with the receiver since when I go back to XP everything works fine.
    Does anyone have an idea how to make the media server run on the IP address of the computer itself rather than the local host address? I noticed also that in the properties for windows media player in the network section in Windows 7 it also shows that it is running on the same 27.0.0. address.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I hate to think I might have to come up with something new.

    hi, to get past this stage of the instalation you need to use a usb wired mouse, this means a mouse that has a wire and usb to plug into your mac.
    the onscreen keyboard can be found if you click on the icon on the bottom left of the setup screen (looks similar to a wheelchair sgn)
    a usb wireless mouse or keyboard will not work because the wireless drivers are not yet installed in windows. they will install along with all other drivers when you open the bootcamp drive (can be found in win7; "my computer"
    in win 8; "this pc") and click on setup exe. this installs bootcamp on the windows side and installs all the drivers that you downloaded while originally running bootcamp assistant.

  • Need help! (Simple question regarding Soundblaster Wireless Music)(I ho

    Hey everyone, this might be a bit of a dumb n00b question but I'm having a problem with my soundblaster wireless music.
    The problem is that it won't shuffle any tracks.
    I have createdplaylists, populated them all very easily, but it will only play one track from each one. I have to select every single track it I want it to play manually on the remote. Using the 'Mode' button on the remote about all I can get it to do is repeat the same track over and over again.
    The only way i've been able to get it to shuffle is by loading a bunch of tracks into the "Now Playing" secton of the console but that seems a little tedius and kind of what i created the playlists for in the firstplace.
    Is this the way the software is supposed to function or am I missing something so simple that it will make me look dumb...

    When trying to play your play list with the remote are you going into the playlist before hitting play? You need to hit play at the playlist list level, not once you'e gone into a given playlist where the songs of the playlist are listed.

  • Is there a new 'Wireless Music' product in developme

    Hi,
    I know the current gen of SB wireless music is a couple of years old, and I was wondering if Creative were looking into doing the 'next gen'. Whilst I don't own one, I am very interested in getting one (they are hard to find here in Australia).
    If once is in development I have a few suggestions;
    * Ethernet support
    * More RAM to decrease buffer/playlist delay
    * True 802.g support
    * Colour LCD on remote
    * Shoutcast/(ASX/ASF) support
    * Power/Signal level on remote
    If anyone else has suggestions, please post away!
    Look forward to seeing the next wireless music!
    Later

        Charles2012, I am sorry you were having issues. Are you still having a service outage? If so, what is your zip code? I would love to resolve this issue for you!^SP

  • Wireless music from my Mac OSx Leopard

    I have a newer MacBook Pro w/OSx 10.5. I'm trying to figure out if I can achieve wireless music from my Mac using Bluetooth or my wireless network? I don't want to plug anything into my usb ports or my network ports. I simply want to play music from my computer, the way it is. I know I'll have a unit to plug into my stereo, I just don't want to plug anything into my computer.
    I was reading about Stereo Bluetooth Profile (A2DP) on Mac OS X Tiger with Jack Audio, but I don't really understand if that will work, to play music to my stereo from my Mac.
    Any help would be appreciated....
    Thanks,
    Gary

    I'm thinking you've probably already considered this, but Apple's own AirPort router with AirTunes is an incredibly easy way to hook up your computer to your stereo with nothing but your wireless network (which, naturally, the router broadcasts).

  • Wireless Music playback interruption - High Bit R

    I'm having a problem with sporadic playback interruption with my SoundBlaster Wireless Music player.
    I have the current firmware and drivers. I'm using WMA files which I have ripped using a high bit rate.
    Does anyone have any idea if this high bit rate can contribute to the playback interruption?
    Thanks.

    If you registered with a good email address Jeremy (CL moderator) might be able to email you a patch that he has made available through email in the past to address the high bit rate issue. I also found if you're running on XP you can set the priority of SBWMsvr.exe to high using Windows Task manager and it seems to correct the problem.

  • Wireless Music: Product Stat

    Hi there,
    does anyone know if Creative still consider the Wireless Music system as a "li've" product?
    I've just been trawling the forum looking for info about drop outs and freezes, and found a thread where the moderator was kind enough to email a test version of a new firmware to those that requested it. This thread started months ago and as far as I can see this firmware has still not been posted to the official download site. This seems to imply that Wireless Music isn't receiving much love & attention from Creative. Are we likely to see any further development of the system in the future?
    I love the LCD remote supplied with the system but with a large song library finding a particular track can take far too long. Are there any plans to update the software in the remote to either improve the scrolling speed or improve the search facilities?
    Cheers,
    Q.

    Cat,
    Please pass along the bug with accented characters in the Artist name like M?tley Crue. Using the remote if you go in by artist to the albums under the artist and then select the album, nothing displays. If you go in directley from albums it works fine. This is a software bug that's been identified for about a year now and nothing has been done to correct it. As can be seen by this example and others there appears to be a black hole somewhere between the moderators and the developers (if there are any).

  • Wireless music ser

    Hi!
    I am having some difficulties with the soundblaster wireless music. Specifically, I am finding that the included software cannot import my music collection all at once. I have ~2000 mp3 files (all properly tagged), and the import utility consistently hangs my machine. My music collection in on an external 60Gb usb HD (using a usb .0 port) and everything is on a PIII 500MHz machine with 384 Mb rab and windows XpSp. I can import at most, 50 songs at a time without the system hanging, but with 2000 songs, that would be quite a task! Do you have any suggestions?
    I have applied all the relevant updates (software and firmware) as of 0/3/04.
    Is it possible to use another piece of software to catalogue my collection?
    Or, is my machine just not up to the task.
    Thanks!
    PaulMessage Edited by pdjones22 on 0-5-2004 06:2 PM

    I have over 7000 mp3's and have cataloged them all in one pass using the MediaSource software at 2.02.06. They reside on a internal SATA dri've so I'm wondering if the connection speed may be the problem. Are all your files in a single directory? I have very clean tags, but have also a directory tree structure that is like "dri've:\MP3\Artist\Album". I just said Import Tracks and went to the MP3 folder and said add folder. The import then runs in a 2 phase process, the st phase appears to grab all the tag info and the 2nd phase appears to do the actual cataloging. A Continue button is required to continue to the 2nd phase.

  • Wireless Music - Playing DRM fi

    New to the forum....
    I was looking for anything related to this question, but did not find it. I know in the FAQ it says the SB Wireless Music is not able to play music encoded using Digital Rights Management (DRM). Is that ever going to change? Creative MediaSource will play music that is DRM encoded, why can't Wireless Music?
    I know you can purchase Musicmatch music then burn a CD, then rip it back into MediaSource, but that is such a pain and you have to manually type in all the ID info. Am I missing something? Winamp had a issue with playing DRM encoded WMA files, but a patch fixed that, does anybody know if that is planed for Wireless Music?

    Serge,
    I do know that right now this isn't possible to do but I will pass your suggestions on to our product suggestions group.

  • Wireless music setup. Does Remote App require a special version of iTunes?

    I am about to create a wireless music system in my house. It is supposed to be able to play different songs at the same time in different rooms.
    Setup as follows:
    NAS server to host music cabled to Airport Extreme Base Station, MAC Mini (leopard) with one version of iTunes version 4.1 installed on different users (which will be labeled living room, kitchen etc.) and Fast Switching User enabled, MAC Mini also cabled to Airport Extreme Base Station which sends to a number of Airport Express' in all the rooms I want music in, Airport Express connects to powered speakers. Everything is to be controlled by Remote on a couple of iPhones.
    I’m told that to make this work I have to use an old edition of iTunes, namely 4.1. This worries me that I cannot verify that iTunes 4.1 works with the Remote app.
    Can anyone comment on Remote – iTunes 4.1 relation, please?
    Comments on the setup in general are also happily received.
    BR, S. Klauber

    Considering the complexity of what you have in mind, and also that you still have to invest in the equipment, you might want to consider a Sonos system. Now they also have an iPhone app, so you don't even need to buy the dedicated remote (which alone is pricy enough). Before AirTunes was able to stream to multiple APXs at the same time, I seriously considered it – but in the end I'm glad I didn't go for the Sonos, since AirTunes currently covers my needs.
    I don't have an Airport Extreme, but I have to say that the iMac is connected directly to one of the APX. (The other APX is connected only wirelessly to the system, and a couple of rooms away.) If you don't need to connect USB drives to the base station, you don't really need to buy an Extreme, as the APX is a perfectly autonomous base station.
    Nonetheless, as you might have read in the forums, the AirTunes system does not always work flawlessly, and can be quite moody, especially when interference is present. But interference (like with microwave ovens) should be less of a problem with new equipment, if you make it work at 5 GHz.
    Lastly, having two iTunes libraries doesn't mean that you have to duplicate data on disk. If you set up iTunes so it just references files on your NAS, you can have two (or more) libraries that use the same files. But the two libraries are necessary so that the various instances of iTunes running simultaneously do not create data conflict. Having multiple libraries on the same data can be a bit of a pain if you add music often, as you'd have to keep them in sync, but there might be tools to help you with that.
