SB X-FI Titanium.. Digital output works but Analog Signal M.I.A.

@SB X-FI Titanium.. Digital output works but Analog Signal M. I.A. Hi Guys,
I recently installed a new hard dri've on my machine after my power supply failed and fried it. After reinstaling Vista 64 and my drivers I noticed that my sound card was not working properly.
In.. control pannel > Sound > Playback I see my soundblaster listed but only the digital out is showing. There are two other icons listed.. one is for "Digital Output Device 2-High Definition Audio Device.. and one for a 3-High Definition Audio Device. I don't remember these being listed when my sound card was working properly before the HD crash.
No icon representing my analog output (Left/Right, Center, and Rear?Speakers)?is displayed. I reinstalled the drivers, updated the drivers, reformatted my HD and started all over again but nothing works.
I made sure that my motherboard sound card is disabled.. I am really stumped.. The sound card used to work quite well.. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it's
Here is my system info:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P (Realtek Audio Disabled)
Sound Card: Internal Sound Blaster X-FI Titanium
Any advice is much appreciated.

DRe: SB X-FI Titanium.. Digital output works but Analog Signal M. I.A. High definition audio device is what your card is detected as until you install the original CD driver or the Daniel K 2.0 support pack. Then you can update to the newest Creative drivers. I tried to format just like you and thought that I would just download Creative's newest driver and start from there. No Go!!? The newest Creative driver seems to install, but then after reboot like you, I have multimedia audio device.
So take out your CD if you have it, and run the driver setup only. Then using just this driver you can install all of the newer Creative updates. The Creative auto updater is installed along with your original driver and you will see it detect all available updates.
Easiest solution of all,
Try this pack and save yourself a load of hassle........
http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/SB-X-Fi-Series-Support-Pack-2-0-05-5-2009/td-p/527485
This will install a very proper Creative driver, and applications that will work very very well on your system compared to the CD orignals

  • X-Fi titanium digital output

    ? Hello,
I'm planning to buy the X-Fi titanium sound card to use it with my digital home theatre. As I read the specifications, the card can only output digital signal through optical signal. My home theatre only have coaxial digital input. My question is if I can use jack to rca adaptor plugged in the card and enable digital output signal in control panel. I used this function succesfully with older SB Li've 5. and Audigy 2 NX but I'm not sure with XFI titanium card. I know about the digital I/O module but I couldn't find at any store in my country.
Can anyone help or maybe can test this?
    Thanks

    Dear sir:
I have called Creative Labs for 3 months looking to buy the Digital I/O Module. They continued to tell me they were out and did not know when they would be in. April st I called again, and what do you know? They had them. I ordered it and it arri'ved in about fi've days. So you may have luck ordering these in your country. I have looked online for the last few months as well and many of the places that I looked were waiting for Creative Labs to restock the part. So be sure to check back with anyone you may have tried to order from.

  • X-Fi Titanium digital output h

    Hi,?
I'm using the digital output of my card to output to a Pioneer 5: AV receiver.
I've used this receiver with many things, and have yet to have a problem with it, but for some reason, I can only get audio when I select 'Play Stereo Mix using Digital Output' in the settings - and in this case, it's obviously only stereo, not multi channel. If I don't have this selected, I have no multi-channel audio what-so-ever not even from the front 2 speakers.
    Can anyone help?

Is this for games or music? Anyway make sure you have downloaded the latest drivers, there is a brand new set out today. Secondly make sure you have set your sound settings to "speakers" in the vista ( not creative ) sound panel. Finally under the encoder settings make sure you choose dolby digital li've or DTS. I prefer DTS with DTS connect for music as it sounds better than using DDL and CMSS3D which distorts sound.

  • What is the best way to Sync Digital Output(TTL) with Analog Output?

I am trying to generate Analog waveform that synchronize the rising edge of a digital signal(TTL). The ttl will be used as trigger for camera. The board I have is USB-6343X. In my draft,  I used a clock as ttl so I can tune frequency easily. Could any one tell me what's the best way to accomplish such task? My draft seems working, but I hope there's more neat way. Thanks in advance for any help!
    Kind regards,
    Eric

    Hi Econg,
You should be able to trigger your TTL output with the analog output by using the ao/StartTrigger as your trigger source on the counter task. You wouldn't have to have the extra Get Full Terminal Name.vi in your analog output task.
Here is an example using your modified code. You will have to change the cDAQ1/ao/StartTigger to *your device*/ao/StartTrigger, but it should then trigger the counter output at the exact time when the analog output starts.

  • Digital outputs while sampling analog inputs

I am currently developing a program using LabView 2012 SP1.  I am interfacing with a NI USB-6009 DAQ using NI-DAQmx 9.5.5f4.  I am attempting to acquire a voltage reading on three analog inputs (AI0, AI3, and AI4) at 1 second from startup and at 20 seconds from startup.  The three digital ports: P0.0, P0.1 and P0.2 are used to turn on transistors for the signals in question and must remain high during the ~20 seconds the readings will take place.  I have figured out how to acquire 20 samples over 20 seconds on the analog inputs but have trouble with the digital outputs.  The DAQ assistant is not a good option and the USB 6009 has limitations that are not necessarily covered in the example code im finding.  Basically I need to turn on (write hex 7) to port P0.0-2, acquire my analog samples for 20 seconds, then bring port P0.0-2 low and end the program.  Can anyone help walk me through this?  Thank you in advance.

  • Is Digital Output worse than analog output in 5.1 set

Hi, I've read in this forum (I don't remember where) that Digital Output doesn't sends 00% of sound, instead it reduces its quality by something (encode / decode) so I would like to know your opinions and if this is true or false?
I have plans for using 5. sound.

The sound card, as I said before, will send out DolbyDigital or DTS recorded on a DVD-Video. This is because the encoding process happend in the studio, at the making of the disc.
Any other surround sound, created in your computer (like the games) will not be encoded surround on the digital out. That goes for X-Fi also.
And Yes, the DD and DTS are compressed formats, but are waaay batter that any other compressed format. DTS in my opinion is the best, but occupies more space on disc (higher bitrate).
The only uncompressed surround is the one on the SACD discs or the one on DVD-Audio (actually this is compressed but without loosing information, kinda like the zip files).
There are sound chipsets capable of Dolby Digital encoding: one is the nVidia's nForce2 motherboards with SoundStorm (not in production anymore). This is the same chip used in XBOX (that has DD out).
The others are some chips made by C-Media: CMI8768+ (only the PLUS variant) and CMI8788 (this has DTS encodin also). But the encoding is done software, and occupies some 0% of the processor time. Not really good...

  • How to convert digital array data into analog signal

Still no useful information.  How was the data converted to digital in the first place?  What conversion parameters did you use?  As was said, you just need to do the math backwards to get it back into the analog.

  • Send counter/digital outputs while acquiring analog data

    Hello all
I am looking to acquire analog inputs on several channels, and send single TTL pulses out at different times during acquisition using a UBB-6221 board.  The delays from the beginning of acquisition and the output of the TTL's should be handles by a control on the front panel.  I have gotten this to work using software timing and an inexpensive board before, but the program needs to be more accurate than this (hence hardware timing).  I am writing the program using LabView 8.2 and DAQmx, but if needed, I have 8.5 available as well.  I am plenty familiar with the general LabView program, but am not comftorable with DAQmx, which I assume I need to use (I have only really used the Assistant).  If there is an example of this somewhere, or if someone has done this in the past, I would really appreciate the help!
    thanks!

    Hi LVhelpME,
There are a number of different ways to
do this, but I created a quick method which makes a digital waveform
with the requested number of samples and rate, and then allows you to
specify at what time you want to insert a "trigger" (which basically
means it will place a high in at that point in the waveform). I did this
by using only 3 functions and a for loop which iterates depending on
how many triggers you wish to insert. You can use a similar method or just make this code into a subVI that will create your correlated digital data according to total number of samples, sample rate, and what specified times you want the triggers to occur at. I have attached the VI below for LabVIEW 8.0 and later, as well as a screenshot showing what the digital waveform will look like based on what values are entered for trigger times. In the screenshot below, you will see that there are 2000 total samples which are output at a rate of 100 Hz. Thus, the total waveform will last for 20 seconds, and the trigger times are entered as 5, 10, and 15 seconds.
The next image shows a zoomed in view of the trigger that is created at the 5 second mark, which will last for the sample period of 0.01 seconds (period of 100 Hz sample clock).
    Hope this helps,

  • 1820M digital inputs don't work with cable box, receiver digital outputs?

I just installed an 1820M on an XP-Pro machine (AMD 3800+ X2). Downloaded the optical and coax loopback tests and they work fine. But I can't get it to take digital input from either my Comcast HD-DVR or my Denon AVR-1907 receiver. I know the Comcast DVR digital outputs work - they worked with my receiver and with my old Logitech 5300s.
I've tried everything I can think of:
    - take external sync from S/PDIF
    - set the optical to ADAT so it doesn't mess up the coax s/pdif input
This seems like such an obvious application. Has anyone gotten it to work?
    Thanks

This is my point - the currently active channel does not produce sound through its multiple outputs unless Logic is playing.
So, for example, if I am auditioning different drum grooves from RMX through the multiple outputs (for the purpose of putting effects/processors on the outputs in Logic) this only works when Logic is playing.
Or if, in BFD, I have the direct Snare coming out of one output into an aux, and then a direct Kick coming out and output into another aux, I cannot hear them unless Logic is playing - I can only hear the ambient mic's as these are mapped to Outputs 1-2 which are the initial track you set the multiple output AU up on.
If none of this is something you tend to do, I guess it's hard to understand!
    Thanks,
    Alex.

  • No more speakers, but output work !

My sound output works, but I don't have any sound going out of my speakers when I unplug my headphones. Can somebody help me ?

    Hi Nicholas,
When you say +"...I don't have any sound going out of my speakers when I unplug my headphones."+ do you mean there's no sound from the internal speakers?
Out of curiosity, can you see a red light coming out from the audio port; where you plug in the headphones?
Briefly, inside the audio output socket of Apple notebooks there is a small microswitch which is enabled when you insert the headphone jack. Of course, when you remove the jack it's meant to deactivate thus allowing you to use the internal speakers again. If that's the case then it appears that, in your case, it got stuck in the active position which is why you'll be seeing the red L.E.D. light shining through and no sound from the internal speakers
Now, sometimes inserting and removing the headphone/speaker jack a few times cures the problem. Others have also had success by, carefully, using a paperclip or toothpick.

  • New Dell, Audigy MB Advanced has no "enable digital output" b

    Hey all.
I have a brand new Dell Dimension 550 system, on which I ordered the Audigy MB Advanced.
Actually I intended to get the X-Fi Music soundcard, but apparently spaced out and clicked the wrong thing. Bummer for me. Oh well I'll buy it later.
Anyway I have no digital sound from my speakers, which are Boston Acoustics Digital MediaTheater. This is the 4. setup that came with my '98 Gateway G6-450, back when BA and Gateway were partners. These are *not* some of the speakers (I think like their 735 series) that require digital drivers. It's either a single analog cable, or a single digital cable, to run the full 4. setup, from the subwoofer plugged into the PC.
Analog sound works fine, but I cannot get digital to work. The problem lies, I believe, in that I don't think the software recognizes that digital output is possible. Again, this is the OE soundcard, but it has the blue input port, the green output one, the pink/grey microphone/rear surround output, and also a yellow and black port, which are for surround connections (that I don't need).
I will be upgrading to a better soundcard, but for now I just want digital to work. This is a common issue with people going from Win98 to XP, it seems, but... though I've found a post or two on this forum, the FAQ on BA's site, and some stuff via Dell and the Web, I really can't figure this out.
I've run the BIOS sound test, that checked out. No control panel option works to get digital output working, and I've confirmed with Dell that digital output should be an option. Should be able to click on Volume Control in the taskbar, which brings up the Creative Surround Mixer. From there, click Speaker Settings. I have Speaker/Headphone Selection set to 4/4. and the "Synchronize with Control Panel" box checked. Below that should be at least one more box, including "Enable Digital Output" or similar. But it's not present at all. Blank.
I don't know if a software reinstall would work or not. Anybody know what's up, here?
    Thanks!
    =S2=

I've recieved a reply from Support telling me to email Dell, but from seeing other posts and topics, I have seen that this is useless. Most of the other people who have encountered this problem have resolved it via Creative not Dell.....Why do I have to go to Dell? Argh ?Thanks for the reply though :\

  • 7600GT No Digital Output

I have two Viewsonic Vx20225wm monitors connected each to a 7600GT.  Recently my Video Cards switched over to outputting only a analog signal to both of my monitors, instead of a digital picture.  In My Taskbar where it lists my monitiors it says Monitor 1 (analog) Monitor 2 (analog). I have not been able to get the cards to recognize my monitors digital inputs and have had to resort to using analog converter to get a analog monitor to work.

Have you uninstalled the Vid drivers or did you just install over them? What OS are you running?
If you are running XP, I want you to download DriverCleaner Pro and install it.  Next, download the video drivers you need(unless you already have them). Disconnect from the internet(turn off modem or remove the lan or USB cable you use to connect).  Disable your Antivirus.  Now, uninstall the video drivers, reboot and hit F8 to go into safe mode.  Run DriverCleaner Pro and remove the nVidia junk for the video drivers...be careful in your choice so you don't remove the nvidia chipset.  Reboot and if XP tries to load vid drivers, hit cancel--you'll be on VGA drivers.  Install the forceware drivers.

  • Outputting different analog signals across 4 outputs

    Hello All,
I need some help outputting 4 different analog signals from the PCI 6711 board.  I plan to use the function waveform vi from the analog generation pallette.  My goal is to be able to enter in the 4 necessary functions, there sampling information, and then output them from the four available analog outputs available on the board.  I've seen the example code for outputting across multiple lines, but it doesn't seem like it is able to create unique waveforms across the outputs, they are all the same waveform.  I've attached what i thought would work, but i can't get my number of lines in data to match my number of lines in task.

  • HT5783 My MacBook Pro (Mid-2009) digital output has stopped working. It turns on the red light at the other side of the plug, but fails to connect with my receiver. Output from Airport works fine.

It was working fine until now, and now suddenly, the sound is gone. I've tried PRAM and SMC reset. Nothing works.
Using the same cable with my airport express, through airplay, the sound comes out fine.
It wasn't working when on Mavericks, nor now, on Yosemite.

    Hey marcalc,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with the digital output of your MacBook Pro. The following resource may provide a solution:
OS X Mavericks: If you can’t hear sound from your speakers
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13841
If you’re trying to listen through a digital receiver
If you’re using your computer’s digital output port (not available on all computers), choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Sound, then click Output. Make sure Digital Output is selected.
Make sure your computer is connected to a digital-ready receiver using an optical digital cable, and that your receiver is set up for digital input (see the information that came with your receiver).
Try adjusting the volume on your receiver. You can’t use the computer’s volume controls to adjust the volume while using digital output.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Digital Output Stopped Working

My new 1.66 Intel Core Duo Mini has been flawlessly passing digital audio to my receiver from VLC and EyeTV for close to a week. But I played a DVD for the first time today with Front Row and ran into a huge problem.
While there was no trouble playing Dolby Digital from Front Row, now I can't get any sound through the digital output outside of Front Row. VLC is silent and EyeTV needs to manually change over to "system sound output" for anything to get through. And then it's in stereo, despite Dolby Digital showing up as the soundtrack in EyeTV.
I combed this forum but couldn't find this specific problem. I saw someone recommended flashing the nvram as a possible solution to problems with the digital output but wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas.
1.66 Intel Core Duo 1GB RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

On a somewhat related issue: My Mac Mini 2007 won't output audio, via toslink mini adapter. It shows up in the Midi output as working and I see the red light from the cable. But when I put in a regular mini audio cable, and "move it around" in the headphone slot I get sound if it's just in the right place. Is this some sort of short in the headphone jack inside the Mini? Does this need to be replaced or is there an easier solution? Comments appreciated!
