SB X-Fi Titanium I/O Drive Upgrade Kit ?

Is there availability of the I/O dri've upgrade kit for the Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium in the United States? I don't see it in the online shop, is there any ETA for this product? What's the expected pricing? Thanks.

If Creative doesn't want to help you, take your money and spend it someplace else. If you have a Radio Shack store in your town, take the old cable(s) there, and ask them if they can repair them for you. Or, if you don't have the originals any more, take your hardware and/or instuctions into the store and ask them if they can make some custom cables with the info you've got on hand. My local Radio Shack has made custom cables for the CNC lathes where I work; They've made power cables for assorted electronics that I'd lost the power cables for; They've made replacement automoti've wire segments for some of my auto projects, using some really terrible drawings that I made.
Hope that hel

  • Solid State Drive Upgrade Kit v300a with Windows 8.1 on Envy laptop

I am trying to install the Solid State Drive Upgrade Kit V300a in my new HP Envy with Windows 8.1. This upgrade was listed as an option for this model  and was bought with the machine.
The doc lists OS supported, but Windows 8 is not in the list. Is Windows 8 supported?
The included disk labled "Arconis" includes ATIHO user guide pdfs and an HP-Drive-Install-Guide-1.15.13-327pm pdf. The install guide mentions using Arconis. The Arconis user guide says to run "setup" to install Acronis but there is no setup file on the disk. I have chosen the setting to display hidden files and there is nothing on the disk but pdfs. The v300a box claims that it includes Acronis Cloning Software.
How do I install this HP upgrade on my new HP laptop?

  • X-Fi I/O Drive Upgrade Kit and the Headphone Out j

I would?need an extra analog audio out for my new HDTV since I don't have an HDMI-out on my PC and the audio out's on my soundcard are reserved for 7. speakers. I thought the X-Fi I/O Dri've Upgrade Kit might be my solutions since it has an extra headphone out. I have an X-Fi XtremeMusic card and my new telly has L/R-RCA audio ins.
My question is does connectin headphone jack to the X-Fi I/O Dri've mute all other sounds? I would like to be able to use both my S750 speakers connected to the PC and the HDTV speakers connected to the X-Fi I/O Dri've's Headphone?Out?at the same time.
And one extra?question:?Do the headphone out on the I/O dri've introduce dedicated left/rigt channels including all the sound information from the source file being played, or just the left/right channel information as in 7. mode when the soundspectrum is divided between all the eight speakers and when the front left/right channels do not contain all the information? It's a bit tricky to try put into words what I mean, but I hope you can understand.
Thanks for any and all replies!

You can enable/disable the muting on jack input detection.
As for the output, I think it outputs the front left and right, so you would need to switch to headphone mode in order for it to be stereo only. However, the dri've also has digital out and from what I understand, that only outputs in stereo unless it's using a surround sound source such as a DVD, but I could be wrong.

  • X-Fi I/O Drive upgrade kit software not install

Hello , I have installed my new X-Fi I/O Dri've upgrade kit hardware today , but I am having some trouble with the software installation.
This is the message I receive after the installation has initiated ->
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please insure that your product is properly installed before running this setup program.Setup will now exit."
After that the software seems to install but I'm not sure it installs correctly. I can't see anything different in the usual X-fi software menu , and the supplied I/O dri've remote control does nothing.
My soundcard is an X-fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro Series.
    Thanks.

  • XtremeGamer Pro + Drive Upgrade Kit = No sound after reboot (please he

First, lemmie say I saw the sticky at the top of this page for digital i/o. After reading the thread, the fix doesn't work for vista and I see that it says you just have to enable digial i/o from the control panel. Since, I have already tried this ... I am asking for help.
Bought an X-Fi XtremeGamer card about 6 months ago and everything has been working fine. However, I recently converted the PC it was in into an HTPC. Since I have a surround system, it seemed my only option to go with a dri've upgrade kit or have to rebuy a new sound card (wanted 7. surround via coaxial/optical).
Long story short, everything installed fine yet everytime I reboot the computer I lose sound. If I go into the diagnostic software included by Creative, all the test come back fine but at the last test where it actually test the speakers I get no sound. Selecting to restore defaults brings the sound back just fine. No other "restore default" command actually restores sound accept the one in diagnostics.
If I reboot immediately after running the diagnostics/getting my sound back, I still come back into Windows without sound. So, it isn't anything I am tweaking that is causing sound loss.
Currently my PC specs are as follows:
    Windows Vista
    XteremeGamer Pro
    Dri've Upgrade Kit
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz (OC - 3.3GHz)
    Crucial Ballistix 2GB Ram
    GeForce 8800GTS 320MB
eVGA NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
    Audio system:
SLS Audio Q-Line Gold 5. Surround
Connecting using coaxial right now, have not tried optical to see if that solves the problem though. Going to do that when I get home tonight.
I completely uninstalled all the creative software and reinstalled using the CD that came with the dri've upgrade kit. I also ran the auto update and it installed the latest drivers.
Dunno if it matters but it sees my card, with the upgrade kit, as a Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatalty Champion Series.
    Any suggestions/help?
    Thanks

Called Creative support and they were just as helpful as these boards. To all who read this, stay away from Creative till they get their act back together. Leading in computer audio my butt, more like leading in customer dissatisfaction and poor support.

  • I/O drive upgrade kit - X-fi xtreme gamer

Hello I bought a?set of headphones but I need to get something practical to make life easyer?to connect them when I want to use them. I thought of the I/O upgrade kit but as far as I can tell there isn't one compatible for my Soundcard. I have this one > http://www.soundblaster.com/products...8&product=5854?Thanks.

    Hi,
I'm wondering if it's possible to use an X-Fi I/O dri've from another SKU X-Fi with a Fatalty Xtreme Gamer?
I've plugged it in and it's powered, output digital audio (the light is on, at least) and it detects the headphones being plugged in properly but no sound is coming out.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Cheers,

  • Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi I/O Drive Upgrade Kit ( 30SB02510000

Why can't I buy one of these in the UK?http://us.creative.com/products/prod...6&product=4659?Thanks for any help. nick

When you see prices marked on items in the states then that is without any tax.Depending on where you are in the states the tax you pay can be different.State, county and whatever other tax is payable. Also you have NO way of getting a replacement if something goes wrong with it. Good that you buy/import/get shipped to the UK from the states cannot be replaced outside of the states.

  • X-fi I/O drive upgrade kit and X-fi elite

Will the dri've unit work with the X-fi Elite Pro? I see from the product descriptions it isn't supposed to work but since it uses the same connector I don't see any reason that it wouldn't work.
Why would I want to use the inferior dri've bay unit's? Because then I have a convenient place to put the external module. I do very much want a headphone and mic connector on the front of my computer and I also very much want the higher quality DACs of the X-fi pro.

    Ben,
I realise you're frustrated and trying to get the product working, but replying in completely unrelated threads will not help. Please keep it in relevant threads only.

  • X-Fi Titanium PCI EXPRESS and I/O Drive Upgrade

    Hi!
    Are those two products:
    X-Fi Titanium PCI-E (Non Fatalty)
    http://pl.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=&subcategory=208&product=7927
    and
    X-Fi I/O Dri've Upgrade Kit
    http://pl.europe.creative.com/shop/product_bundles.asp?category=4&subcategory=0&produ ct=2&page=
    compatible with each other?
If not which other X-Fi Titanium PCI-E Cards are compatible with this I/O Dri've?
Maybe X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Seriies or X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-E?
Please help me, and thank you?

That I/O Dri've upgrade kit is not compatabile with any Titanium series card.
The Titanium Championship series has its own front bay, but it has slightly different functionality.
The Xtreme Audio PCI-E isn't a Titanium and I would recommend staying away from it in general; it doesn't have the hardware audio processing of the other 'real' X-Fi cards.

  • Optical drive upgrade. Successful stories. tell me

    Hi all
I am looking to upgrade my PB 15 1.5 combo
    Specs
to a superdrive with doudle layer burning facilities.
I first though of playing it safe and going through Camcon upgrade services, but their replacement drive isn't fully compatible because of some special apple firmware missing. Although they will be happy to install some equiment that I provide. 1h of labour charged, and they will also upgrade my hd in the process. The deal is not so bad.
So now is the issue of buying the right optical drive, and this is just driving me crasy. grrr
Most of the threads here presents difficult experiences as it is may be difficult.
Lets hear about the good stories at once.
Something in this sort of format will be great.
    computer model:
    drive model:
    Original drive model:
    Read/Write/speed:
    Finder burning: y/n
    iAppl burning: y/n
    Short comment:
Remember that I have already read lots of the bad, patches and firmware stories, and I will really want to concentrate to the one working without modification.
    Many thanks in advance

    UPDATE:
If you have a 1.5GHz model A1106, the same as mine, I can tell everyone that I just successfully upgraded my combo drive to the "current" SuperDrive they used on the last PowerBook, the 15-inch 1.67GHz Double Layer SD model.
I took out the combo drive, model CW-8123-C from Panasonic, and installed the UJ-846-CA double layer SuperDrive into it.
So far so good! In fact, people claim the UJ-846-CA drive works in all PowerBooks (Titanium and up) and iBooks as well (G3 and G4, the dual-USB G3s). But I can't confirm that. I can only confirm that which I did.
Everything is recognized and no special drivers are needed. I did notice, since I also upgraded the hard drive, that in Panther (did a restore from my discs), it recognizes the drive, but doesn't support ANY burning, only reading. In Tiger, plain old 10.4, it says burning is supported, but not by Apple. In 10.4.11, it is "Apple shipped/supported."
And I did the installation myself. I totally went against my recommendations to people (such as in my previous posts above), about how the Aluminum PowerBooks are delicate to work with. I still won't touch my 12-inch PowerBook (maybe later down the road) but these 15-inch 1.5GHz models are easier than the previous 1.5GHz/1.33GHz ones that had a latch/catch over the optical drive.
By the way, the drive I chose was a 160GB Seagate 5400.3 because it has perpendicular recording technology and it's been said to be just as fast as the 100GB 7200RPM drive by Seagate. I thought about the Western Digital 250GB drive that I've been telling people about here on the forums, but I've had good experiences with Seagate and Maxtor, so I stayed with them.
The money saved was a lot!! Had I asked an Apple Authorized Service Provider to do it, it would have run me $1000, at least, for the options I wanted. Hard drive installation, LCD display casing, top case, and optical drive upgrade.
You can get the UJ-846-CA from resellers (both used and new), or on eBay. I got mine on eBay.

I just did this last night, by the way! And you can do it yourself too by going to this guide (you have to have the Model A1106 one... if you have another one, go to the main site and choose the one that matches your model)--

  • How can I browse T.M. backups made BEFORE internal hard drive upgrade?

Hi, all. I have googled and googled with no info on my particular situation. Maybe one of you can help. Here's hoping...
I have a MacBook Pro and use Time Machine to back up to a Firewire hard drive. I do not back up my System and Applications, just files. Consequently, when I recently upgraded my internal hard drive I restored all my data and settings from the original internal hard drive (not the Time Machine).
From there Time Machine began making NEW backups of the NEW hard drive, no problem, but I cannot browse the backups of the previous internal hard drive. Is there any way I can get Time Machine to recognize all of these backups as existing from the same machine and let me browse back beyond the internal hard drive upgrade?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think you have to browse them separately, but you should be able to do so by right-clicking (control+click) on the Time Machine icon in the dock or by holding the option key when clicking the icon in the menu bar.
Choose "Browse other Time Machine Disks" and you should see the old series of backups.

  • Fusion drive upgrade question (7200rpm?+SSD swap)

If I choose the fusion drive upgrade while purchasing a mac mini, will the non SSD drive be upgraded to a 7200rpm drive as well?
Also, I would love to replace the SSD of the fusion drive with a 3rd party 256 SSD that I already own, if that's even possible.
Or should I just stick w/the stock TB drive and install my 256SSD with a data doubler kit from OWC or something like that to save me some $$$?

"If I choose the fusion drive upgrade while purchasing a mac mini, will the non SSD drive be upgraded to a 7200rpm drive as well?"
No. The hard drive component of the Fusion Drive spins at 5400rpm.
"Also, I would love to replace the SSD of the fusion drive with a 3rd party 256 SSD that I already own, if that's even possible."
It's possible. No point in upgrading to the Fusion Drive if you're going to do that, though. Read here:

  • Hard Drive upgrade on a DV6324us?

I have a DV6324us laptop that I bought 3 years ago and am needing some additional memory on my hard drive.  Currently I have 2GB of RAM, AMD Turion 64x2 TL-50 processor, and 100GB hard drive.  I have been researching upgrading the hard drive, but I'm not sure what the largest that I can install in it based on my system specs.  Any suggestions?

That series has presented occasional problems with 7200 rpm drives and 500 gig or bigger drives. You will have no problem with a 320 gig 5400 rpm drive. You very likely would not have a problem even with a 500 gig + 7200 rpm drive but I can't give you 100% assurance.
Laptop hard drives are sold at Best Buy and Frys or you can order from newegg.com or Tiger Direct. A 320 gig 5400 rpm drive can be purchased for as little as $55:

You can clone the old drive to the new if you get an upgrade kit with software and a usb external drive adapter

  • Hard Drive upgrade

I'm considering a hard drive upgrade but i dont know crap about them. I went over to newegg because i heard it was a good site and found this one......
"Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD5000LPVT 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive"
The only problem is, I dont know wheter it is compatible with my Early 2009 13 inch macbook pro..... Should I go with this one or are there better ones out there? I'm not really worried about price. I was aiming to get a 500gb. Thanks.

It is compatilbe if it's a 2.5" notebook SATA II 3.0 Gb/s model. Take Csound1's advice. If you buy a WD drive or any other makers' drives do not purchase any "green" drives as they don't work well in Macs.
If you want better performance get a drive rated for 7200 RPM with as large a cache as possible (typically 16 MBs.) Other makers to consider include Hitachi, Seagate, and SamSung.
If you want faster speed consider the Seagate XT500 hybrid. Or visit OWC and look into their DataDoubler that enables you to replace the optical drive with an SSD (or another HDD.)
