Sb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit

Asb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit'sI recently installed windows 7, because I was tired from Windows XP, but unfortunately after installing all the drivers for my hardware I realized my 5. isn't working quite as expected.
My first problem was, that the Crystalizer didn't work, after installing tons of different software, found on creative labs forums the crystalizer started working.
Then I realized that the CMSS-3D wasn't (and still isn't working). How do I fix that ? I've tried numerous ways but nothing happens, while in windows XP everything worked fine after installing the drivers.
I also miss some configuration options in the Creative Console Launcher, namely the check boxes:
?"Automatically enable headphone settings" and "Automatically mute speakers".
Where the hell did they go?! I use them, I need them. How do I get them back? Is XP somehow privileged than 7? Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?
I also can't change the speaker configuration - it's stays 5. whatever I do, and the drop-down menu with the choices is missing?! Auto-detect option doesn't work, and if it did worked - I don't need it.

To : woj2322, You may need to download and install the Dell Notebook System Software version 5.0.5. This installs patch fixes to solve the PCI ExpressCard device not work correctly. This is only for the DELL Inspiron 520 Notebook (See Below). Microsoft patch fix info below also. Also, I see there's other people that are having the same issue, maybe you to need to download and install the patch fix for your notebook's on dell's website. • There is no mode switcher on my Audio Console launcher.

I have the Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme card and downloaded some time ago the console launcher. The application on the site says the version currently available dates from 2007. I open up the launcher but do not have the modes tab at all. Why is that? How can I get a version that has it? I want to use the audio creation console.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Creative Audio Console Launcher panel .jpg

< Hey falmatrix2r, I also have the X-Fi Surround 5. USB and installing the latest drivers screwed up my stuff too. I also lost the On Screen Display functionality. I don't have a solution I can share with you, but can you read my post and let me know if you have a solution/suggestion for my problems? Thanks.

  • X-Fi Audio Console Launcher not in system t

Since my new install of Windows, I can't get the Console Launcher for my X-Fi Elite Pro in the system tray anymore. On my previous install it was there from first install, even after updating the software and drivers, but now it seems to have dissapeared. I'm really disappointed as this (for me) by far the easiest way to change mode and/or entering the console for settings editing. I tried to update the drivers, but no luck... it's still not back. It seems like a fairly easy problem to fix, but I can't find any option to check/uncheck system tray icon availability. Can anyone help me out on this one? How can I get the system tray icon back in the system tray? Thanks in advance!?By the way, I'm running Windows XP Pro UK with the latest X-Fi Elite Pro?drivers and onboard HD Audio disabled in the BIOS. Software of HD Audio is also removed.

Mine hasn't been resetting....so far. I know mines a Fatalty but sw wise it should be same for all the cards. The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with option for syncing with control panel. I have that option unchecked in the creative mixer speakers tab. Maybe try disabling it if its currently enabled and see if that stops the resetting. No idea if it will help but thats the only thing I can think of, can't hurt to at least give it a shot.
    Hope it helps

  • When Audio Console launched, Unable to find audio device error message comes

When I launch audio console, I get an error message saying:
"Unable to find audio device. Please make sure that your audio device is enabled and installed with its driver. This application will be closed."
This can't be right because my soundblaster audigy 2 ZS platinum card is installed, its working, I can hear things etc.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the audio console software package from creative and that fixed the problem for a very short while and it is now reoccurring.
I've had this same setup for several years with no issues, now all of a sudden, this is happening.
Anyone out there had similar challenges?
Thanks for looking!Message Edited by dgmtoronto on 07-22-200703:33 PM

Most probably you don't have passed the correct root= option to the kernel so that the kernel cannot, as it says, find its root device. Read the wiki page about refind in order to know how to configure it (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/REFInd). Refind as no fully automatic configuration like grub.

  • Java Console Launch Problems with CITRIX

I have to use a Citrix TerminalServer to connect to the SunMC Server.
Reason is the nature of the RMI proto. RMI needs to open ports back on
the console host. As this is not allowed in our network design, I first login to
a CITIX T.S. , start a browser and then type the URL of the SunMC server.
The page appeares, I select "Launch Java Console", then "Open with Java Web Start executable" and it starts Java 5. Now I would expect the Login Window, but instead of it I get a window saying:
    Checking for latest version ...
After a while (timeout) I get:
Unable to lauch Sun Management center
    Any ideas ?

We opened a case at SUN and got the following statement:
This is a know issue and actually the problem has been escalated to our developer colleagues: Bug 6665331
Using java web start does not work on a firewalled environment. This is both on a windows as well as a solaris environment. So anyone who has enabled firewalled communication will be facing this issue. The momentarily workarounds you can apply are:
    - install the console directly on the window pc or Soalris environment and use the Java GUI or
    - set the variable "sunmc.server.console.firewall.Enable=false" into java.properties file.
--> we installed the regular (non-Web-Start) Java Console on the Citrix host. It uses the configured ports, e.g. 45000-48000. and works fine.
I think, this will also be needed on a normal windows (non-Citrix) host.
The second suggested workaround did not show any effects.
Conclusion: If there is a firewall in between the server and the console, the Java WebStart Console can not be used at the moment.

  • X-fi Xtreme Audio doesn't work in Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello everyone,
I know this is a known issue and I've found many topics on this, but still I can't find any solution and I hope you can help.
I've a Creative X-fi Xtreme Audio that was working perfectly under Windows XP SP3 but then I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and the sound coming out from my speakers is awful. I've installed the latest driver from creative home site, I've updated the OS via "microsoft Update", I've tried many suggestions I've found on the web to solve this, like phisically change the PCI slot of the sound card, or reduce the ram ammount via msconfig but it didn't work. I've tried some custom driver either, the support pack 2.7 by Daniel?K. but nothing... I'm still at the starting point.
    What should I do?
    This is my actual configuration:
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Premium SP v 6..760
    CPU: AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+
MB: Asus M3N78 SE (with the latest bios version 002)
    Ram: 4gb
    Video: nVidia GeForce GT 220

    I use CS4 on a Windows 7 64-bit computer.
I noticed that none of the extensions I installed with the Extension Manager don't appear at all in any of the CS4 programs.
Can anyone tell me why this doesn't work or how to solve this problem?
Try posting to the Extension Manager forum:

  • G530 (4446) wireless lan problem on Windows Vista 32bit without AC

I have  new G530 lenovo laptop with the following problem
After I have enabled the wireless driver (pressing Fn+F5) and moving the switch in front of the laptop, the wireless led is blinking BUT, I can't find any wireless networks. When diagnosing the problem with windows vista,it tells me that the wireless should be turned on.
Of course, it is ON. After I have reinstalled the wireless driver again from your the support site, the problem disappeared, but reappeared after a couple of days.
I do not use Access Connections. I have Uninstalled it since I don't need it
I have seen this problem on several sites when I googled for a solution.
    I need a deterministic solution:
    a. What drivers should I update?
    b. In which order should I update them?
    c. What configuration should I change from their default?
    d. What causes this problem and can I prevent it from happening (like- don't go to standby but just to hibernate state)?
    Thanks
    Guy

    Hey, guys.
I just discovered that the computer had no issue at all.
    The problem was with me.
Somehow I managed to disable the wireless network.
I just typed Fn+ F5 and reactivated it.

  • Oracle 10g problems on Windows 2003 32bit

After much struggle I got 10g installed on my w2k3 server.
    It is very unreliable, however.
    1. The OracleDBConsoles<server name> will fail from time to time.
    2. my floppy disk drive is being accessed from time to time for no reason after the install (no, no virus - it stops when I stop all oracle services)
Is 10g really windows 2003 ready?
I mean, from the painful install, to it not behaving properly...
I used to have 9i r2 working flowlessly on the same machine. I may just go back to it.
I did a proper uninstall with a registry cleanup before trying to install 10g.
Anyone using 10g on w2k3 willing to share some insights?
    Thanks!

    Fixed in 10.1.0.4
I know for sure that this will not be released until Feb 2005 as I cannot get a backport for a different bug and have been informed from Oracle Support.

  • X-Fi Xtreme Audio Bought - Successfully Installed Drivers, but NO 5.

so, as the topic title sais, i just bought the CL X-Fi Xtreme Audo 5.-Card (as i found out, that CL seems to?be the ONLY manufacturer, which has Vista X64-drivers), well and after plugging in the card, successfully installing the driver off the front-page (....XX65a somewhat), also in configuration i could hear sound off all 6 speakers (5+sub) successfully, but when i tried to play mp3-files, i only heard sound off the 2 front-speakers. Is there any option to activate FULL SOURROUND (so 5.) MP3-Playback for windows media player? On my previous sound-drivers - which was realtek 5..-onboard, there was a solution as option 'virtual sourround', which played mp3-files up to all 6 speakers, but also distorted the sound so much - echoes and really 'dumb' sound - that i decided to buy a new 5.-card. I Can't even play movie-files with AC3-Audio (means REAL 5.-channel-mapping) as 5.. There i still hear my Front-Speakers only, too! (at leas my onboard-realtek-driver had this). So how to fix this problems. I'm actually not satisfied with this product and i'm thinking of bringing it back to the shop!?btw - my system :AMD Athlon 64 3800+768 MB RAM (strange number, but it's actually a 52 and a 256)5..-Hardware Sound/Speaker-SystemCL X-Fi Xtreme Audio.i'm running at Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate Edition.

well, thanks for the tip! just tried installing the windows XP-drivers (without the software-lab-music-stuff, so just config tools and included XP(!)-driver) it got installed finely (now i'm having driver 5.2..68 from 3.0.2006) and it managed to load the configuration/console drivers. with the redirect subw. option i got 2. sound (front and sub) and with EAX enabled i managed to get all speakers, but the sound is so awfully equalized and echoed, that this sounds stupid. now i will go to sleep and after that i'm gonna try to install the vista x64-driver from the main-page. thanks again for your help. (i was closely about to bring that card back to store and get me my 70 euros back. (because of the above mentionned issues i had).

  • K9N2 Diamond and Xtreme Audio Card

The sound card that came with this board came with a driver/program CD. I've followed directions and ran the installation, but when I click on the Audio Console Launcher to configure it, I get a warning that, "The current selected audio device is not supported by the application. Do you want to select another audio device now?"
    If I click "NO"...thats it.
If I click "YES", I get another warning saying, "The Creative Audio Device Selection module cannot be launched. The module may be missing from your system. You may need to reinstall your application."
If I run the CD again, to reinstall the so-called module, I still run into the same problem.
The problem really is I can't use my headset w/mic for online gaming. Headset shows up in the Playback Devices but there is no "configure" option--greyed out.
What seems to be the malfunction?

  • No 6.1 channel speakers option with soundblaster x-fi xtreme audio

Here is my problem: I have a 6.1 channel speakers and a yamaha receiver, but my computer doesn't show 6.1 configuration, and neither does the creative software. Both control panel and creative software only have 5.1 and 7.1. When I use my speakers with my dvd player everything works just fine. My soundcard is the soundblast x-fi xtreme audio pci, and I have windows XP. Does anybody know what's going on?

6.1 isn't really a common speaker configuration so I doubt that many sound cards discretely support it. I'm assuming that the only way to get 6.1 audio is from a movie with a Dolby or DTS -encoded track via SPDIF or letting the receiver upmix 5.1 input into the rear mono channel.
How are you connecting the sound card to the receiver? Are you using SPDIF or direct analog connections? If watching DVD movies, I'd recommend SPDIF, provided your DVD software supports it, you should be able to send a 6.1 encoded stream over SPDIF to the receiver, but for everything else I'd recommend the direct 5.1 analog connections, set your sound card to 5.1 and then let the receiver upmix to the rear channel if you so desire to use that feature.

  • X-Fi Xtreme Audio, Vista Audio probl

    Hi everyone,
First off, I believe I may have gotten the worse X-Fi card available. Anyways, I'm having some audio problems. It's when I turn on the the X-Fi Equalizer's 62 Hz up to almost the fullest. Then, I turn up my Media Player's volume, that's when I get soft and somewhat loud volume. The way to get rid of that is not to mess with my Media Player's volume control. But to turn up the volume control of Vista (which shows by the computer's clock). I don't know what to do. I used to have a Audigy SE, but, I read up that the X-Fi Xtreme Audio is pretty much the same card. I heard that the X-Fi XtremeGamer has almost the same problems as the X-Fi Xtreme Audio, with volume problems. Hopefully someone will reply and help me out. Vista is becoming a pain. I bet XP doesn't have these audio problems. But Vista is different when it comes to sound.

i had that card before and traded it for audigy 4 to get rid of problems
can u please tell me what s your CPU load when you just listen to music?
