What is the SBA in the Ge-force4 MX440 information box? Why the SBA in MSI information box didnt enabled?? Where can enabled this function SBA?
Is after enabled it will improve VGA perfomance ?

KT333 AGP Side Banning

Hello all i've got a KT333 ULTRA -ARU. fitted with XP2100+ CPU, my question is about the AGP's Side Banning, i have a msi GeForce4 MX440 that supports Side Banning however, on the 3D Experince software and other software it tells me that side banning isn't enabled. there are NO options to turn it on !!! MSI has forgot about it. or am i confused and missing it in the bios. i have the most updated everything including bios. please help. thanks

I'm not sure on this, but I checked the schematics of the GF4Ti4600 and that card has enabled it by default.
I don't have the schematics of your card, so I really can't tell.
But it should be enabled by default.
Another matter is that drivers should use it or it won't work either.
Drivers can disable it as well, so can the BIOS, but mostly the BIOS uses it when the card has it enabled.

NAT port-forwarding and WAN side IP addresses

I have my Airport Extreme setup to forward port 21 to an FTP server on the LAN side of my network. The AE is connected via DSL to my ISP.
When a client from the WAN side connects to my server, the server's LOGS don't list the IP of the client, rather it says the client connected from my assigned WAN IP. For example (fake ip's):
Client ----> AE ----> FTP-SERVER
130.129.12.3 76.99.89.3 10.0.1.2
Log states client connected
from IP: 76.99.89.3
My previous Linksys router, with the same DSL modem and ISP, would report the client as connecting from 130.129.12.3.
Am I missing something in how I am configureing my AE? Or, is this how the AE manages port-forwarding and there's nothing I can do about it?
I used to use firewall rules to control access to the FTP server, i.e. rules set on the server. This can't be done anymore with the AE operating as it does.

Seems to me that the NAT translation in the Airport 802.11n is such that it does not use the incoming IP of clients connecting from the WAN side to a computer on the LAN side. The ingoing and outgoing packets reach their respective destinations, it is just that the AE uses some kind of non-standard routing (at least not that I am used to working with).
This is bad because it prevents the use of some forms of access controls on BSD and Linux servers on the LAN side, TCP Wrappers and iptables for example. This can create obvious security problems when WAN ports are set to forward to such a LAN client. We are already getting hit with robot-like script attacks on our server, this was a problem with our Linksys router, but with the above mentioned tools and scripts we were able to block abusive clients.
Perhaps an Apple can work on resolving this issue in a future firmware release, at least make it an option... Anyone from Apple out there?

what is it for ?????
found the auto gcard clock setting that seems to work ok plus a couple other bits like beyond me at the mo

'Stop' icon (no text) will not display if beside address on left side.

I customized Nav tool bar by moving all icons to left end and in 'Show' picked icons only (no text). The 'Stop' icon is there while Customize is open but when 'Done' is clicked, 'Stop' icon disappears. You can put the 'Stop' icon anywhere else and it remains, but not next to the left side of address. How can I fix this?

That is intended. You only see the Bookmarks Menu button if the menu bar is hidden.
Firefox 4 has two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window. 
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu. 
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar. 
 
You can drag the Bookmarks menu button with the drop marker in the Customize window from the toolbar palette on a toolbar (e.g. Navigation Toolbar or Tab Bar or to the left side of the Bookmarks Menu Items). 
You only see the Bookmarks menu button if the menu bar is hidden. 
If the bookmarks toolbar is visible then the default bookmarks menu button will appear on the right hand side of the Bookmarks Toolbar as part of the Bookmarks Toolbar Items.

If you can't find it using the Linksys Smart Wifi software, you can use a port checker like PING.EU to get your WAN IP. When you click on the link, it should show you Your IP, which is your Internet IP address.

How do I syncronyse address book?

My iMac and MacBook are both iCloud enabled. How do I syncronise both adress books, which are both checked with iCloud. I thought this was seemless.

Try adding a contact on each one and check the contacts on icloud.com to see it they appear there. If a contact added to one does not appear on icloud.com, make sure you have selected iCloud on the left-had side of Address Book (contacts) before adding it. If you did, and it still doesn't appear on icloud.com, go to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Address Book (Contacts), restart your Mac then go back and check it again. Then add another test contact and see if it syncs now.

i have a LAN whit many servers,but only 2 need to be balanced. So i think in one-arm model, due to the higth trafic that not be pass trought ACE.

Since you server are not behind the ACE in either bridge or routed mode add the follwoing to your config and use nat to get the traffic back to the ace.

Change router address?

Our SMC router died today at work. I replaced it with a new Airport Extreme. Now all the Windows computers here are looking for a specific router address. Rather then change them all, I would like to just change the router address to match that of the previous. Cant seem to figure out how to change the address. I can see the address, but cant make any changes to it. Is this not an option? Or what am I missing here?

My guess would be that the 64.230.197.40 address is the WAN side IP address that you are receiving from your service provider.
The 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.1.1 is the local area network address. Depending on which range you choose, devices connected to the AirPort Extreme will receive IP addresses as follows 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, etc. Or if you are using 10.0.1.1 as the router address, then it would go 10.0.1.2, 10.0.1.3, etc.
I think your devices should be pointed to either 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.1.1.
If you open AirPort Utility and click on your AirPort Extreme, to the right you will see some information about the device. The IP address of the device on your local network will be displayed there. If you haven't changed the DHCP ranges, the IP address will be 10.0.1.1.

Address book frozen

Address book froze when I merged duplicated data. When I force quit the application and reopened it, I was unable to search my contacts. I would type in a name, but it wouldn't search, even if I hit enter. Furthermore, after I attempt to search my contacts, the right card display freezes on the last card selected on the left. If I double-click a name on the left, it will still pull up the card in an individual box. Spotlight also finds the card. But I am still unable to see anything on the right side of Address Book or search my cards.

I have exactly the same problem. working ok on mac air but imac, no. I have also done the same with permissions and deleted the cache file... still no change.... I also have heaps of duplicates and half entries etc but I am mainly concerned about getting the thing to search properly at this stage... any ideas GLADLY ACCEPTED. Have you since solved your problem Jo?

AEBS IP Addressing

I am wondering if there is a way to override the default IP addresses of the AEBS.
For example, you can select a schema of DHCP addresses to be 192.168.x.x and assign the third octet to be 254. Can you override the final octet and force the AEBS to be 192.168.254.254?
The previous administrator before I took this job programmed the router at that address and I am switching us to an AEBS, but with LDAP running, several manually configured servers, etc... switching over all the gateway addresses will be a huge pain, and I'm wondering if there is a simpler way to do this.

To change the WAN-side IP address: AirPort Utility > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Configure IPv4: Manually, and then, enter the desired WAN-side IP addresses
To change the LAN-side DHCP-provided addresses: AirPort Utility > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP > DHCP Range, and then, change the third octet to the desired value.

Need Airport Extreme Model: A1034 Manual (or IP address) for security

I have an older Airport Extreme Model: A1034 that I'd like to add an access security code to. I don't have the manual any longer and am wondering if anyone knows the URL address and password I'd need to get into an admin level view in order to set the Wireless security.

The default LAN-side IP address of the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) is: 10.0.1.1. The default base station administrator password is: public.
However, you will need to use the AirPort Utility to administer the AEBS. Unlike other vendor products, the AEBS does not use a web-based type utility for administration.
