SBC & Entourage email issue

I have been using MS Entourage as my email client for several years without issue.
I have 5 email accounts set up and now one of them (SBC) is having issues with receiving. I can send mail from it fine, but when I go to receive I get error message 2020, "Security failure. Data decryption error."
SBC can't help me. I have checked the MS website with no luck so I am turning to the MAC gurus here. Can anyone shed light on why, without any changes to the settings, the account will not receive?
BTW, I can receive the mail through the web. Also, it is not isolated to this computer. I have a 2nd computer at my office with the same issue.

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
If your account was due to go live yesterday, then you should be able to login to your mail account now.
The mail server for pop and smtp is :-
mail.btinternet.com
Account ID - this is the email address without @btinternet.com (but may include it if you wish).
You need to set smtp authentication.
That is for the BTinternet email address. You may need to contact a Mod to get this sorted.
The personal email address is a bit different, but typically should be as already exists. If you were using your previous BB supplier mail server for sending (smtp), then this is where it gets different. If you need extra help here - can you pop back with a little more info regarding the personal mail address setup before you changed (e.g. mail servers)

Entourage - Email Issue

In need of desperate help, we are having problem with people recieving our emails and attchments when we send emails through Entourage. It is a very unusual situation. When we used Mac Mail to send emails people were able to recieve the emails. However, we need to be able to use Entourage. If i forward using Entourage to a colleague and he sends the email out then other people are able to recieve the email. There does not seem to be a any consistency. We are using Mac OS X 10.3.9 and Mac: Office 2004. Does anybody know anywhere i can go to get advise or answer to this unusual problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I received a .pdf document as an attachment to an Entourage Email. It refuse to print on my HP4050N printer which is otherwise performing as advertised. Printing fron the desktop, Adobe 9.4.4 nor Preview won't work. I have a PowerPC G5, OS 10.4.11.

I think the file has somehow been corrupted. Can you have the person that sent it to you send another copy?

Compressing attachments in entourage email

I am unable to compress attachments in my entourage email. I have Stuffit Expander installed, and I still can't compress pictures and video. Is there something else that needs to be done?? Please help

In Mail for the iPad, there isn't a typical paperclip icon that most associate with attaching a file.
On an iPad, you first need to find the file on the iPad. It could be a picture, a document, etc. When you find that file you will want to use the 'Send To' option. The icon is a little square box with an arrow jumping out and pointing to the right. After you select this, you will want to send it to 'Mail'. iPad will now create a new message with that file attached. Now, you are free to type in the reciepent, body of the message, and send it on it's way!

Embedding word document into an Entourage email

In MS Outlook when you hit 'Send as attachment' in a word document it cuts the document into the body of an email. In Entourage it simply attaches it as a separate document that then has to be manually opened.
I'm in PR and need to make things as straightforward as possible for journalists - any ideas on how to get the body of a word document into an Entourage email??

How can I access old Entourage emails to import them into Mac Mail after upgrading to OS Lion? I don't really want to go back to Snow Leopard in order to access the old Microsoft Applications, but they simply aren't supported in Lion.

In Mail you can select Import Mailboxes... from the File menu. There is an import from Entourage feature.

Lets start with your definition of a Group. Thunderbird does not have groups. It has Address Books and Mailing Lists. Was this an address book or a mailing list that you created in one of your address books?
If you deleted an address book I do not know of any way to recover it.
If you deleted a mailing list from your address book all you did is delete the list. All the contacts that were on that list will still be in the address book. Just recreate the mailing list.

Email issues after Yosemite upgrade. Several things are happening, I delete messages only to get a error indicating that I can't delete them or if I do delete them, they reappear sometime later.

I use Apple mail on an IMAC & IMAC Mini. As I move from one to the other these email issues persist on both.
I try to clean out my email by deleting emails. I sometimes get an error message indicating I can't delete the message or when I do delete the message, then sometime later or when I go on the other computer these deleted messages reappear. I am also getting emails from some senders but the actual content belongs to another person.
I had none of these problems prior to upgrading to Yosemite.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

HT204017 Email issues after the latest update

I updated to the latest yosemite update yesterday and it caused email issues. I can receive emails but when I create and send emails, they just sit in my outbox. Any ideas or suggestions? Is there a way to revert back to the previous version of yosemite?

I had this same issue about a month ago. I went in and had to re-enter my password for the account I was having trouble with and then restarting my computer. If that doesn't work then I have seen people that had to go into keychain and delete their email login information and after that delete the email account and re-add it. Hope this helps.

Remember that the move/copy is taking place over the internet so it will take a while. I would copy instead of moving just in case of a failure.

Email Pop-UP message "Email issue detected"

Over the last week I continually receive a pop-up message with "Email issue detected" and the options of "Fix" or "Ignore"
When I selct FIX it sends a test message to my Outlook 2003. A new pop-up then appears with no fault found. However it does refer to my current email address and also an old email address which I have not used in 5-6 years.
How do I stop this and get rid of old address?

HT5167 did anyone else have their entourage email app shut down with no way to access it?

downloading 10.7.4 shut down my entourage email program. I cannot access it at all. I also cannot get any of my passwords to work on any email solution. ie. I downloaded the free trial of MS Word and tried Mail. Neither will transfer entourage data. they say they can't find it. I can't get my passwords to work on either of them also.

OK....I used the 'maintenance' utility, and ran scripts, repaired permissions, etc. When my computer restarted, I went to my wifes profile, ran 'disk utility' to repair permissions on her profile. Then I opened her browser and cleared her data, ie search cache, website cache, everything except her logon data. When that was done, I went back to my profile, and opened the browser. I'm at that point now, and all seems to be well. But then it seemed well when this first occured. Any guesses as to why this happened or what might have caused it to happen? A program conflict? A visit to a data-mining webpage? I know that some will tell you (or me) that macs are supposedly immune to viral or malware attacks, but there also are those who will argue that it is impossible to protect any computer, even a mac, from all infections. So, part curiosity and part pessimism create a curiosity. Any input would help.

since i upgraded to a more current version of Firefox, Firefox won't launch my Entourage email from an email link on websites. I'm on Mac OS 10.6.8

It amuses me that the email that was sent to confirm the posting of this question had a clickable link. Naturally that link did not work. Cutting and pasting it into FireFox allowed me to complete the posting process. Annoying.

It's not that simple. You didn't lose your Office 2004 suite. Office 2004 won't run in Mountain Lion. You need to update your Office software. You need to purchase either Office 2008 or 2011. Either one can run in Mountain Lion.
