SBLive! beta 64bit driver on XP

I hope this gets back to CL. The 64bit beta driver for Li've!5. series of SoundBlasters has a hardware bug on dual AMD cpu,64bit systems running winXP x64. If you connect the cd-spdif connector to a dvd-rw dl dri've and try to listen to cd's via cd-spdif,you get an entire system lock up everytime,it's replicatable AND if you verify a cd/dvd-r burn on this dri've,it will cause a system lock-up.Not a ctrl-alt-delete restart,but a power down,reset button lock up. It's DEFINATELY the driver causing this,not the hardware. I own newer Audigy's and X-Fi's,but the Li've! series with the eMu-0k chipset/Li've!Dri've interface?will RULE 4ever. The sound is is FAR superior to the new stuff and is excellent in a studio environment. I was amazed at the sound on sound functions of the li've! series with cakewalk and audition. I monitor w/JBL 442s,Control's,SCS mosfet reference amps and Bang&Olufsen stereos for consumer audio.
p.s.please fix the Li've!dri've interface on the 64bit driver for winXP x64

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to send this over to our developer to verify on this bug.
Cheers.

  • Oddly answer when asking about Win.Vista 64bit beta 2 driv

    Heard about someone that said that the drivers will come to the beta2, but i don't know if that is true, beacuse i mailed them a few times and at last i got this answer:
    "Hej, Tack f?r ditt email!
    Det utrycket "beta 2 har ingen support" betyder att det inte kommer att komma drivrutiner till den. F?rst n?r Vista publiceras officiellt kommerdet att komma drivrutiner till den."---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    That is swedish and means, " Hello, thanks for your mail! That kind of OS (Beta 2) dosen't have any support and that means that there will be no drivers for it. The drivers will be official realesed when Vista the full version of Vista is released."
    I think they mean that the drivers won't get out to the beta 2, but i donno if the drivers will be realesed as someone said. I may be wrong, but don't get mad at me, beacuse i only telling you others what i've been told!... :smileyvery-happy:

    SupaBeast,
    Tech Support does not get information regarding pending driver releases nor do they work with Beta releases and drivers. This advisor should have referred you to the Vista Knowledgebase article regarding release dates which should be updated soon for Beta 2.
    I cannot comment on Beta 2 driver release dates, but it is my understanding that beta drivers are indeed in development.

  • Where can I download a Windows 7 64bit driver for the hp CDDVDW TS-L633N on my cpq60-615DX

    EDIT --
    I neglected to say that I tried updating the driver from the Device Manager device window and the result was a message saying it could not find a newer driver, that the one installed was correct.
    Another EDIT
    I also did not say that I  have uninstalled the device, through Device Manager. Upon restarting the system, the drive was found and software installed but the problem remains.
    Original message follows:
    System: CPQ60-615DX

    In the process of installing some Roxio software, Creator 9, an unusable driver, are part of one, was installed. Now the device is not working.
    When I didn't see on the list of devices on Windows Explorer, I went to Device Manager and found that it was flagged with the "problem" icon (exclamation  point on a yellow background).
    The General Tab Device Status box contains"

    It appears that the Creator install installed part of the driver but not one that functions. It might be a problem with Windows 7 or the fact that this install is 64 bits.
    I have searched the HP site and can't find a driver for the device. When I look at the list of drivers available for this system, the optical drive is not shown.
    I downloaded and installed the HP driver search program - or whatever it is called - and ran it. There were no devices listed on "Optical Drive" tab when I looked at the results - it could not "see" the drive.
    I realize that what I need is probably a generic driver from MS, that's why one is not shown on the HP site, but how do I go about finding the right one for this device?
    Is there a generic "one size fits all" driver for Windows 7 which can drive this device?
    Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

  • Better Display Driver under Windows 8 than Windows 7 for MacBook Pro Retina?

    Anyone happen to know if the display support for a MacBook Pro Retina is better under Windows 8 than it is under Windows 7?
    Ideally, I would like to be able to run 2880x1800 at True Color as well as have the HDMI out fuction as a second display (maching the behaviour while booted under Max OS X 10.8).
    Under Windows 7, the highest resolution that supports True Color is 1600x1200.  This would be okay if that setting did not distort the picture (everything is slightly squeezed).  At 2880x1800, the highest color depth is High Color (16-bit) which is, well, not something one can actually use if doing graphics work.  On my 27" iMac, 2680x1600 supports True Color as expected.
    Also under Windows 7, the display connected via HDMI is not recognized.
    I've contected both Apple care support and Microsoft support about this, but Apple referred me to Microsoft and Microsoft referrred me back to Apple.
    Thanks,
    Warren
    P.S. Personally, I think it's rediculous to even attempt to do graphics work under Windows, but tell that to the Windwows based corporate world that I freelance in.

    Yes, there is a better display driver for the MacBook Pro Retina while running Windows 7 Pro.
    And, the answer is so obvious, that I feel a little silly having started this thread in the first place!
    The Windows 7 Professional NVIDIA drivers for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M card need to be installed manually by downloading them from NVIDIA directly.
    If you need to do this on your MBPr Boot Camp volume, use this link:
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
    Then, set the pop-up menus based on your MBPr. [Mine were as follows: GeForce; GeForce 600M Series (Notbooks); GeForce GT 650M; Windows 7 64-bit: English (US)]
    What tipped me off to this is that the CUDA drivers need to be downloaded manually on the Mac OS X side to take full advantage of raytracing in Adobe After Effects CS6 and CC.  As soon as I started to run that installer it dawned on me, "Hey, you probably need to install the drivers on the Boot Camp side as well."  And sure enough after doing so, I am able select all of the expected resolutions as well as run 2880 x 1800 at Millions of Colors (32-bit).
    I guess I'm showing my nearly three decades worth of being a Mac user where I'm accustomed to having about everything needed included with the OS.

  • Windows Vista Update posts 64bit driver for Qosmio F30 32bit Vista

    Hello
    Today I've noticed that Windows Vista update is posting the wrong update for one of Qosmio F30 drivers.
    I have Windows Vista 32Bit but Windows Update post a 64bit version of the driver.
    see the screenshot [Here|http://imagefilehost.googlepages.com/f30Wrongupdate.jpg]
    Any idea?

    hmm... this is strange ?:|
    The Toshiba x64 ACPI compliant driver means definitely a 64bit version!!!
    I dont know why the Vista driver update notification reports an 64bit driver for a 32bit OS but usually the 64bit driver shouldn't be compatible with the 32bit OS.
    However, the case seems to be clear dont install it if the driver is not designed for your OS.

  • Windows 64bit driver - why the silence?

    I'm so dissapointed... My girlfriend gave me a gorgeous new ipod touch for Christmas and guess what, no 64 bit drivers. It's not like Windsows 64bit is a new operating system, it's been around for over 2 years! Why should I downgrade and have to buy a 32bit operating system?
    To be honest I'm now furious with Apple. I've called them and when you ask when support will be given they 'don't know'! From what I can read this has been going on for 6 months. What do you have to do to get a straight answer from them? Why don't they issue a staement?
    I see that they've been hurridly updating product compatability information online to apease the situation and balme it on itunes but itunes isn't the problem - i works fine. From what I can tell, it's that they never released a 64bit driver for the ipod touch or iphone. There's no mention of the lack of compatibility on the packaging or web shops, aren't there something about trade desciption laws? But Apple probably know that they won't have a massive returns problem as we all want iphones and ipod touches so much that we'll wait or find workarounds which is what I'm now spendning my holiday doing. It's a disgrace.

    Hi James,
    and welcome to Apple Discussions! I suggest that you use http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html to report feedback to Apple. These forae here are for questions about usage of products - which you doesn't seem to have - and for other users - not Apple - answering your questions.
    Cheers,
    Volker
    P.S.: There are no DOS drivers, no AIX drivers, no HP/UX drivers as well, all of them being on the market as operating systems since more than 10 years... dang - logic is not always easy

  • Installing a better Hard Drive in my MacBook Pro

    Hey guys,
    I'm looking to install a better hard drive into my MacBook Pro (15.4" Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz) that I bought last September, and I'm strictly a software guy: I know little to nothing about hardware.
    I'm hoping to upgrade from a 120 GB to a 320 and hopefully from 5400 rpm to 7200 rpm. Is there any other specifications I need to follow, other than it needs to be a notebook hard drive and it needs to be SATA?
    I have these picked out from a previous post:
    http://www.ifixit.com/Apple-Parts/320-GB-7200-RPM-Hitachi-SATA-Hard-Drive-New/IF 107-063
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145228
    Is there any difference besides the price? Will both work in my computer?
    Also, I have the AppleCare protection plan. Is there someone who can install a hard drive for me that won't void the protection plan?
    I tried calling an apple store, and they want me to come in to the apple store and talk to a genius, which is too difficult for me at the moment.
    Thanks,
    - Keith

    Yeah I'm more of a speed freak, I admit it. 7200 RPM sounds good even sacrificing the size, because I already have an external and intend to get a huge desktop in the next few years. Also, my laptop is much more powerful than any of my computers could ever be upgraded to be.
    Also, I talked to my brother who says compared to my 5400 rpm hard drive, a 7200 rpm hard drive will run *significantly hotter* and get *significantly less battery life* (~30 minutes depending). Has anyone here upgraded a 5400 rpm notebook hard drive to a 7200 rpm hard drive before? Can you say anything about these claims?
    I'm pretty sure I'm getting one of these two:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Hitachi/0A57547/
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Western%20Digital/WD3200BEKT/
    Any advice of comparison, brand loyalty, or how these specific hard drives will compare when it comes to heating up or battery life would be appreciated (for example, the Hitachi one claims to use less energy and user reviews claim to get better battery life).
    Thanks,
    - Keith

  • Acrobat Pro installed on a Windows 2003 32bit server - where's the 64bit driver?

    Hello.
    I'm still newbie with Acrobat Pro so please bear with me if this is a silly question.
    A prospect of ours installed the TRIAL version of Acrobat Pro Extended on a 32bit Windows 2003 server and everything went fine; this server "serves" a number of Windows 7 64bit boxes which are supposed to share the PDF Printer created on the Win2003 server during the installation.
    Problem is that when the printer gets shared and clients try to install it, the 64bit driver could not be found.
    The customer tried to install the 64bit driver on the Win2003 box but he does not know where to find the correct .INF file for 64bit windows client.
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Two facts for consideration. As I understand it the trail only comes in 64-bit. Don't know for sure since I have never downloaded it, but that is a faint memory.
    More importantly, read the EULA carefully before you purchase for the type of application you listed. The general EULA does not allow the use of Acrobat on a server in the manner you have indicated. You have to purchase Acrobat for each machine, not a  server. You may have enough that need to use the product that a volume license is in order -- contact Adobe for that. In the meantime, use the Acrobat Trail to test the features and such to be sure it meets your needs (other than the server use).

  • Is there a better external drive than the one Apple offers?

    Hello all,
    I've got the 15" Macbook Pro with Retina display, and of course I don't have a disc drive, was just wondering if there was a better quality drive than the one Apple offers? I will be using this drive to burn audio onto CDs if that helps (I DJ)
    ***Sidenote: I have no problem with paying for or using the Apple one, I just didn't want to get it to then find out that another brands' drive does the same or a better job for less money
    Thank you all in advance,
    Ryan Huff

    I actually have been reading some stuff online and came here after mixed reviews, I guess it's a very subjective topic,
    Like I said I've got no problems with the apple one, thank you for your help!

  • 64bit drive

    Very soon Windows XP Professional x64 will be released. I already have the RC2 release to test it. However, untill today I wasn't able to find any 64bit driver for my Audigy 2 Player. When will these drivers be released?

    Eaglesgift,
    The preview site is a sharepoint site. It has the option of a login and password, however that is for members of the sharepoint. General users won't need to log in since all of the primary features will work without logging in. The sign in is mostly for the admin to use.

  • Windows 7 64bit driver support for GX623

    Hi, i have GX623 laptop (CPU:Intel Core 2 Duo P8400; RAM: 4GB ), i am interested why there is no Windows 7 64bit driver support for this model ? I really would like to run some 64bit software on it.
    If my laptop hardware support it why MSI don't release drivers so my software can also support it. In some 32bit drivers there are some 64bit drivers but still not all for complete functionality.
    On some older posts from 2009 I see responses that windows 7 64bit is very new so that's the reason for no driver support but in 2011 surely that is not the case.
    Can we expect 64bit drivers for Windows 7 in near future or support for 64bit software isn't planed for this model?

    So is it officially GX623 supported for Windows 64bit install because I still don't see any drivers for Windows 7 64bit or maybe Windows 7 64bit don't need any drivers?
    Hello anybody here? Anybody working here?

  • OdbcDataAdapter.Fill() not getting all rows from RDB using 64bit driver

    I am using VS2012 Pro on Windows 7 (64-bit). I am migrating an older 32-bit VS2008 app to the new environment. I'm building for the .NET Framework 4.5.
    The app queries an RDB database and uses the Oracle RDB drivers version 3.3.2.0. When I build as a 32-bit app and use the 32-bit Oracle RDB Driver, the query succeeds and returns all 341 data rows. When I built it as 64-bit and use the 64-bit driver, I only
    get the first 101 rows.
    Oracle says the problem is in the OdbcDataAdapter.Fill() method. I was able to confirm this. I created an OdbcDataReader and used the debugger to see what was being read, I can see all 341 rows, but when I use the DataAdapter.Fill (or DataSet.Load) method,
    the results are truncated to 101 rows. Changing the SQL to query different tables does not change the problem. Below is a code sample:
            private DataSet runQuery()
                string connString32 = @"PROVIDER=MSDASQL;DRIVER={Oracle RDB Driver};SVR=myserver;DATABASE=ATTACH 'filename mydatabase';CLS=myclassname;uid=myusername;pwd=mypassword;xpt=2";
                string connString64 = @"PROVIDER=MSDASQL;DRIVER={Oracle RDB Driver 64 Bit};SVR=myserver;DATABASE=ATTACH 'filename mydatabase';CLS=myclassname;uid=myusername;pwd=mypassword;xpt=2";
                string sql = "SELECT person_id FROM person_tab";
                DataSet ds = new DataSet();
                using (OdbcConnection conn = new OdbcConnection(connString64))
                    OdbcCommand cmd = new OdbcCommand(sql, conn);
                    OdbcDataAdapter da = new OdbcDataAdapter();
                    da.SelectCommand = cmd;
                    conn.Open();
                    da.Fill(ds, "myDataSet");
                return ds;
    Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how did you get around it?

    Hello,
    Since I do not have the RDB database, I made a test with both 32bit and 64bit ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server and query for 1000 records, however, both of them can work fine.
    As far as I know, the ODBC is just a component as a bridge to connect the driver and the application and since you are use the Oracle RDB driver, I suggest you posting it to the Oracle forum:

  • Audigy 2 Value and Windows 7 64bit driver don't work

    my first Audigy SE before Audigy 2 Value (SB0400) worked perfect on Windows 7 64bit
    with Audigy 2 Value SB0400 i tried 3 drivers , including the beta from the creative support , original and daniel_k driver and after reboot the windows hangs at LOGO and stays there.

    Re: SB Audigy 2 ZS and Windows 7 - Full Package driver?T While Creative has written new drivers and some applications for Windows 7/Vista for the Audigy, they have not re-written or updated all of the original applications on the CD. This card is very old now. What Daniel K. did was take all of the applications or most of them, and tweaked them to properly install and include themselves in the registry on operating systems other than Windows XP. For the full and most recent package, check here:
    http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-...009/td-p/53838
    If the application you want is not included in his package, then you can try downloading the official Creative version and install it on your system in "compatibility mode" by right clicking the file, and choosing properties, and then the compatibility tab and choosing "Windows XP service pack 2 or 3" and it may or may not function.

  • Beta nVidia Driver 257.15 officially supports MPE in CS5

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-257.15-beta.html
    This is the link to the Win 7 64 bit driver. Versions for other OSes can also be found on the nVidia driver website. From the "highlights":
    "Supports  the new GPU-accelerated features in     Adobe   CS5."
    As with all beta drivers, it is not recommended that you install this driver on a production machine. There is one additional change in this driver in that nVidia has converted the XML file nVApps.xml, that controls video settings for individual pieces of software, to a binary file, which cannot easily be modified by the user. A series 257 driver for the Quadro series has not yet been posted, as nVidia generally provides only WHQL versions.

    That's my thinking on it also. But it's worth experimenting with it to see how widespread the problems are. With the 257 driver there's also no way of directly editing nVApps.xml until nHancer is updated.There's several other tools that will do this and work with the 257 driver, but in my opinion, it's presently not worth the effort. It might be worthwhile submitting any CS5 bugs that are discovered here:
