SBO-Common saved on another disk

Can I save SBO-Common on another Disk, like data file on D: and log file on E: or this is system DB that should be saved on default SQL path
Thanks,
Olga

Hi,
It is better if you change only the company database to another drive and leave the SBO-Common database as it is.

  • Excel file corrupt after saving to another disk

    I have two PCs at home.: A laptop running Win-7 64-bit, and a desktop running Win-7 32-bit.  Both are running Office 2010.  Often, but not always, when I save an Excel workbook from one PC onto a shared hard drive on my home network and
    then try to open it on the other PC, the other PC displays the "file appears corrupt, would you like Excel to try to recover/repair?" message when I try to open the file.  This also happens sometimes when saving to a thumb-drive and attempting to open
    it on a non-connected laptopn running XP and Ofice 2007.  Most times, Excel successfully repairs/recovers the file without issue.  Infrequently, it doesn't repair everything.  Today it failed completely and was unable even to open the file on
    another PC.  I've tried various methods to copy the file.  I've experienced the problem when I use Windows Explorer to copy the file from one disk to the other, and also when using both DOS COPY and XCOPY commands.  The issue occurs with
    many, but not every Excel file I copy.  And it doesn't happen every time - only sometimes.  It seems to occur more frequently with certain specific files, and and rarely or never happens with specific other files.  It occurs in both directions
    (i.e. with both the 64-bit Win-7 machine as the "source" machine and with the 32-bit Win-7 machine as the source machine.)  All of the files I have problems with are .xlsm files.  I have not tried to confirm that it happens only with .xlsm
    files.  It doesn't seem to matter if the destination file is being overwritten, or if it is being created from scratch by the copy source.  I'm baffled.  Any suggestions as to why this is happening?  How I can prevent it?  Thanks.

    Hi,
    The Office 2010 you used on both computers are 32-bit or 64 bit?
    There are some differences between Office 32 bit and 64 bit.

  • Creating user defined table in SBO-COMMON

    Hello experts,
    I'd like to create a user defined table in SBO-COMMON. I'll tell you why:
    I have successfully created a SAP B1 addon which adds freight costs to an order if the total amount is under a certain threshold. We have 2 administrations running, a live one and a test administration. We have put the connectionstring to determine the expense code of the freight costs in the exe.config-file of the addon.
    We want to be able to point the addon from one administration to the other by modifying only one value, a centralized value, independent of SAP administration. The most proper way to do that in my opinion is to put it in SBO-COMMON and the only logical way to do that is a user defined table in SBO-COMMON.
    Is there such a way?
    My alternative is to abuse another database on the server and just add the info there, but I'd prefer to store it in SBO-COMMON.
    Thanks for your time!
    Vincent

    UDT cannot be created in sbo-common. You may create new db and work with table in this db (but it will be not UDT, but standard sql table), or create new company db only for this purposes and create UDT there.

  • License allocation table in SBO-COMMON database

    Hi all,
    Does anyone know which table in SBO-COMMON database stores the information regarding the license allocation?
    This would help me a lot 'cause I need to update that table in order to rescue a license that was blocked when I deleted a company database.
    Please advise.
    Victor

    Hi Victor.
    This info is not saved in any tables. They are in B1upf.xml which under licensing server. You can backup and recreate the file by reassign all licenses.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Close SAP on server and client machines.
    follow below steps:
    Always take a full backup before a detach.
    Detach the database, delete/rename the log file, attach the database - this will create a minimum size log file.
    Note that the log file must be deleted/renamed otherwise it will be re-used even though it is not mentioned in the attach.
    Enterprise manager
    Right click on the database, All tasks, Detach database, OK.
    Delete/rename the disk log file.
    Right click on databases, All tasks, Attach database, Select the .mdf file, OK, Yes (to the create new log message).
    t-sql
    sp_detach_db [dbname]
    Delete/rename the disk log file.
    sp_attach_single_file_db [dbname], [filename]
    where [filename] is the name of the physical data file (.mdf).

  • Sbo common error - test connection

    Hello, Im trying to connect the B1DI in SBO common, but I can't:
    This error appears:
    XCE001 Nested exception: java.rmi.RemoteException: com.sap.b1i.xcellerator.XcelleratorException: XCE001 Nested exception: java.net.MalformedURLException: invalid authority: rmi://license_server_name:2099/DiaAdapterProxy_XXX
    If I write the IP address, is another error: -8012... I checked the note "Troubleshooting on B1ic Version 8.81" but the patch level are correct...
    Can somebody help me??
    Thank you!
    Sorry for my english!!
    Paulina

    Hi Paulina,
    You cannot successfully connect to SBO-Common via the B1DI test connection since its actually not like a normal Business One database. Therefore you should only test connections to normal B1 databases. If they do not exists in the SLD then you can create one.

  • Recording to another disk?

    I'm moving from ProTools Free (OS 9) to GarageBand, and have a question.
    What is the correct proceedure to get garageband to use another disk or partition to store audio files?
    At present I'm doing a Save-As, and saving the song file to another disk, then using that icon to open the song.
    David

    Because usually your system disk is busy running the shop. You can get away with it for a while if your projects are small, but after a while, things will start to slow down, and audio may not always have top priority over system functions. Result - gliches. If you are a privateer, maybe no problem, but if you are doing it for a living, it would be almost suicidal.
    Most professionals have been using a MacPro with several internal disks, system, audio, and maybe a couple of sample library disks. Lately with the advent of Thunderbolt, external disks are stating to be a more reasonable option, which has been bringing the iMacs and laptops more into play.Firewire is OK, but if you are running dozens of tracks with lots going on, as well as a firewire interface, things can start to bottle neck.
    if you have the option of only one internal drive, make sure your extermal audio drive is AT LEAST firewire 400. 800 is much better, and eSATA or Thunderbolt is as good as an internal drive. USB2 is not a feasible option for external audio, unless you are only talking about half a dozen tracks, and you don't mind a bit of skittishness.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

  • Trying to back up iPad to external hard drive, "iTunes library file cannot be saved. The disk you are attempting to use is full."

    This issue is somewhat complex so I will try to explain it as clearly as I can. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    It all began when I kept getting popups from my iPad saying that I had not backed up since May. I realized that was pretty dangerous so I decided to finally try syncing it to iTunes, though I had avoided doing so for so long because I knew that when I tried there was no room on the computer. I then remembered that I have an external hard drive with plenty of storage space, so I got that out and set it up with a folder to move iTunes and the backup into.
    On iTunes I went to the Advanced Preferences and changed iTunes Media Folder Location to the G: folder, with the keep organized box checked. I also copied the previous backups from the original C: drive to G: so that I could delete the ones on C:.
    I used Junction Link Magic to link my now empty MobileSync backup on C: to a new (JLM would not work unless it was empty) backup folder on external hard drive G:.
    I plugged in my iPad to iTunes to sync it, and while it was backing up I checked the new folder on G: to make sure that the backup was being put there. It was.
    However, about halfway through I got the message "iTunes library file cannot be saved. The disk you are attempting to use is full."
    My question is Why? If it is being made in a 1.5 terabyte hard drive now, and not the computer, why is there no disk space? My guess is that it must still somehow be saving to the computer. But how? And how can I get it to save solely on the G: drive where there is enough room?
    I am running Windows XP and the latest version of iTunes.
    An additional but not as crucial issue:
    Much of my music has been lost, with the being displayed next to the songs in the iTunes library, and only 50 (purchased) songs remain on my iPad. This was because those missing songs were stored on a different external hard drive ( I:). However, I copied many of the music folders on I: over to G: so that everything could be together. I am wondering if it is possible for me to get these songs back onto my iPad. But this is not my most important issue right now, because I believe that once I get the first issue solved I can simply plug in I: and G: at the same time while syncing the iPad, and get the songs back.
    Note: I have come to realize the iTunes program itself is still under Program Files in the C: drive. Does this have to do with anything?

    Short term, free up some disk space. Long term, move the library to a bigger drive.

  • ITunes Library File Cannot be Saved. The Disk Cannot be Read From . . .

    I use a MacBook Pro with a healthy battery. My iTunes songs are on a USB drive. The Database and XML files are on my MacBook. Power went out in my house and the USB drive shut off. The MacBook stayed up and running. Power came back, powered on the USB drive, open iTunes, and bang: This sorry error: iTunes Library File Cannot be Saved. The Disk Cannot be Read From or Written to.
    The disks are healthy, did an fsck and ran disk verify/repair. No problems. Restart iTunes, same error. Obviously a corrupted Databse file. This wouldn't be a big deal if only the XML info would be useful and actually restore critical info such as play count and dates which is essential for the Not-So-Smart Playlist dependencies to work.
    This is the third time I've been burned with corrupted iTunes "Database" files. I use "Database" in quotes because a true Database wouldn't crap out like this. It would be recoverable. It would understand a simple SQL "Where" statement. It would have a maintenance script and some means for recoverable backup beyond the lame process of copying the XML file. Or it would at least read in the info the XML file.
    I am becoming disillusioned with iTunes and I'm beginning to yearn for my old Linux box running GTKPod which never failed me....

    OK, here's an update - After doing the restore as mentioned having everything seemingly work, I erroniously downloaded the iTunes 7.4 & 7.4.1 updates. Now, about 80% of library is non-responsive, ie: shows up in iTunes, but clicking to play does nothing at all. the other 20% of my library plays, but it's not the song it is supposed to be playing. For example, clicking on a song from say, ABBA prodes a wonderful Gorillaz track :-/ (The same Gorillaz track which will not play if I select it...)
    I reiterate: WE NEED A MEANS TO BACKUP OUR LIBRARIES RELIABLY!!!!!!!!!!

  • How to move Tablespace from One disk group to another disk group in RAC

    Hi All,
    I have 11gR2 RAC env on Linux.
    As ofnow I have problem with disk group. I have 3 disk group which is almost full - 98%. I have added one NEW disk group and want to move some of the Tablespace(TBS) from OLD disk group to NEW diskgroup and make some free space in OLD disk group.
    Can any one suggest me how to move TBS from one disk group to another disk grup without shutting down the instance.
    DB is in Noarchive mode.
    Thanks...

    Hi Helios,
    Thanks for doc id but I am looking for noarchive mode solution. becaues I got ORA-
    "ORA-01145: offline immediate disallowed unless media recovery enabled " when run alter database datafile '...' offline.
    Hence I am trying something and findout below steps but not sure how useful it is:
    1- put tablespace offine
    2- Copy the file to new diskgroup using Either RMAN or DBMS_FILE_TRANSFER.
    3- Rename the file to point to new location.
    4- Recover the file.
    5- Bring the file online.
    I had move 240M TBS from OLE to NEW.
    These steps run successfully so I think this is valid for noarchive mode.Hence want to confirm..so inform me please.
    Thanks :)I have doubt in my mind:
    1. You database is in noarchivelog mode
    2. You're taking tablespace offline
    3. Suppose you're moving a file of size 10GB(or any larger filesize) to another disk group
    4. Now after moving the file, you're trying to bring the tablespace online............NOW
    tablespace will need recovery. if the required data is inside the SGA then it is ok. But if the data has been flushed, then?
    if step 2 and 3 has taken significant time, then most probably you'll not be able to bring that tablespace online.

  • How do I move my home directory to another disk?

    I want to find out the "standard procedure" for moving my home directory to another disk.  My current system disk is getting quite full, so I have purchased additional storage.  The issues I am concerned about are the following:
    Preserving the file permissions
    I have used rsync and ditto commands to copy the file.  Does rsync preserve the permissions like the ditto command?
    Updating the System to use the new home directory
    I have used the Ctl-Click on the accounts control panel to update the location of the home directories.  Do applications use "~<username>" or /Users/<username> to find the home directory of the user (obviously this is limited to Apple Controlled software).
    Understanding the /Users and /home directories
    Since Apple is no longer using netinfo, I wanted to get a better understanding how these directories are set up.  Is the /home directory exclusively for network mounted home directories.
    Please let me know if you have any questions.

    I disagree with Linc Davis on whether to move the home folder, But I think you are going about it the wrong way.
    Having a Boot drive with only System, Library, Applications, and the hidden unix directories including Paging/Swap on it is one of the best ways to speed up routine disk Access for all your other files. The system keeps "snacking" away loading and reloading bits and pieces of System and Applications as you work, and that System activity slows "regular" disk access way down by moving the drive heads away from the files you are processing.
    Giving System files their own drive speeds up everything.
    Here are two good recipes and discussions about how and why to do this, and how to make it happen without a single line of Terminal code:

  • Moving Hyper-V VM to another disk

    Hi all, I have read several forums about moving the Hyper-V VM to another disk but I still don't understand on the replication side. I have two physical server running Hyper-V and it's HA between each other with all VM running replication. I have install
    a new disk on both plysical machine and both need to move all the VM to the new disk.
    Please let me know if my steps are correct.
    In this scenario, I have 2 hour downtime so I could power off all VMs:
    1) Pause all replication for all VMs.
    2) Export the replicated powered-off VMs on the inactive server.
    3) Copy it to the new disk.
    4) Import the VMs from the new location.
    5) Power off the VMs on the active server
    6) Export the VMs.
    7) Copy it to the new disk location
    8) Export the VMs from the new location
    9) Power up the VMs and start the replication
    10) Delete the old vhd on the old location
    Qns 1: Will the replication know the new location on the other server or as long the VM on both server are on the exact location so it will automatically replicate over ?
    In another scenario let's say I don't have any downtime and just for my knowledge:
    1) Pause all replication for all VMs.
    2) Export the replicated powered-off VMs on the inactive server.
    3) Copy it to the new disk.
    4) Import the VMs from the new location.
    5) Failover the VMs to the inactive server
    6) Power off the VMs on the other server
    7) Export the VMs.
    8) Copy it to the new disk location
    9) Export the VMs from the new location
    10) Power up the VMs
    11) Failover the VMs
    12) Delete the old vhd files at the old location
    Qns 2: Will the failover work in this case after I have change the location of the other server ?

    1) What Operating System are you running on the HyperV Server?
    Win 2012
    2) You are talking about HA, but I would assume that you don't have a cluster here. Right?
    Yes no cluster here. HA means if one of my Hyper-V is down, the other VMs on the other Hyper-V would take over
    3) You are talking about Replication, but I would assume that you don't mean HyperV Replica. Right?
    But If you have HyperV Replica running you don't have to export / delete / copy / import /etc. your VMs. This is all done by HyperV replica...
    I don't understand this part. You mean Hyper-V Replica could help me to move the vmhd to another disk ?

  • Add-On connection for Journal Entry - Failed to Connect to SBO Common

    We have a customer (SAPBO 2005A SP01 PL29) with some specific requirements that required an add-on running in the background to monitor the addition of Goods Receipt PO's to the system. When the GRPO is successfully added, the Add-On will (behind the scenes) create an appropriate Journal Entry through the SAP DI. One of the issues that we encountered during the development of this functionality was that when it was tested by users, they weren't authorized to access the Financials module or the Journal Entry screen. What we ended up doing was creating a secondary connection (vCompany) in the DL pulling the information from the encrypted user information from SAP the Add-On used to connect, but utilizing a management level user ID and password. Once that connection has been made, the Journal Entry is added through the DI and that secondary connection is disconnected.
    The problem that we're encountering is this. When the users are logged into SAP Client with an regular user, and the GRPO adds, the secondary connection fails and returns a message of "Failed to Connect to SBO-Common". However, if the user is logged into SAP as an adminitrative level user and the GRPO is added, the secondary connection is successful and the Journal Entry is created. The secondary connection is strictly used for the JE. Here's the code (VS.Net 2005) for the secondary connection:
    vCompany = New SAPbobsCOM.Company
    vCompany.UseTrusted = True
    vCompany.language = SAPbobsCOM.BoSuppLangs.ln_English
    vCompany.CompanyDB = oCompany.CompanyDB
    vCompany.UserName = "XXXXX"
    vCompany.Password = "YYYYY"
    vCompany.Server = oCompany.Server
    vCompany.DbServerType = SAPbobsCOM.BoDataServerTypes.dst_MSSQL2005
    lRetConnect = vCompany.Connect()
    Where "XXXXX" would be the appropriate management level SAP User Name and "YYYYY" would be that users password.
    Has anyone else had this kind of issue where you needed a secondary connection with management level access behind the scenes to accomplish something in SAP and had problems getting it to connect? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Dennis,
    what you can try is to make a untrusted connection
    oCompany.UseTrusted = False
    and set the DBUser and Pwd
    oCompany.DbUserName = "sa"
    oCompany.DbPassword = "insertpwd"

    If you use print to file then you get a file that is meant to be send to a printer and that file has all kind of formatting code for that specific printer.
    Opening such a file in Firefox or a text editor can only work if you use a text only printer to print the file to, so make sure that such a printer is installed and selected.
