SBO Service Manager button disabled

Dear Experts,
Hi, I try to run SBO Service Manager, it used to have dropdown drill with some options like "SBO Backup","SBO DI Server" and "License Manager". But now I see the dropdown no longer has those 3 options, but only blank and the button is turn into grey and disabled. I've check on service.msc all the services is "started" except for the SBO Backup.
Does anyone know how to figure it out?
Thanks,
Flo

Hi Flo, this is just my opinon and even experience -
You probably have it on DVD or have downloaded some place the server tools service manager install/uninstall.
I suppose it should not matter, as you are not downloading newer service manager.
However, do backup whatever you are doing, if you want to restore it to this state.
It is hard for me to tell 100% it will be OK, but I think it will be ok. The final decision is yours!

  • SBO Service manager

    I installed SAP Business One 8.8 and the Upgrade PL13.
    The SQL server 2008 was installed a few months earlier and already in use.
    The SBO service manager is not working well:
    If I choose at Service: license manager,(or SBO Backup, SBO DI Server)
    the buttons below stay grey and become not active.
    I don't know what the problem is.
    This is the reason I cannot find the hardware key for my licence key.
    Can anybody help me?

    Webber is correct that there is no problem with your hardware key.
    The license server is not able to access because there is security setting prohibit it to run. The security setting is in the UAC.
    In the OS like windows server 2008 and UAC setting in the OS MS Window Vista or Window 7. there is UAC that turn on.  This made the license server is unable to run. If you are using laptop or notebook as server standalone and using MS. Window Vista, just turn off the UAC. If you are using window 7, just set the UAC from always notify or default to notify me ... or never notify.
    The setting is similar with windows server 2008 and do not afraid the other impact. The security is just to prevent the running of the softare that is not yet certified by Microsoft software. UAC is available in the user account. Access the user account in control pannel.
    if you set the UAC default or always notify, you need to run as administrator for the SAP B1 software including SBO service manager.
    here is the steps:
    1. To run a program one time as an administrator
    Right-click the program and select 'Run as administrator'.
    2. To run a program permanently as an administrator
    Right-click the program and select Properties -> Tab Compatibility -> Privilege Level -> Change settings for all users -> Privilege Level -> Run this program as an administrator

  • Service Manager Disabled - Vista Business

    Hi,
    I have started a clean installation of Business One on a Windows Vista Business environment. I have installed SQL 2005 Standard Edition SP2 and then installed the Server Component for SBO. After installing the Server Tools from SBO 2007A PL8 i cannot seem to start any of my services. All the buttons on my service manager are "Greyed Out" therefore cannot import a licence file, cannot start the licence server etc...
    Has anyone experiance a similar problem, or am I missing something?
    Please help....
    Regards
    Grant

    I'm experiencing the same problem.
    I haven't gone around to try this yet, but I think there might be some issues around the vista UAC. I'll post back if I figure out what to do.
    If anyone else could post their experience it would great. Any experience around vista could help too...

    In the standard service PZ02, if we select the emergency address as address type, "Change" button is disabled.
    Why is this button disabled for emergency address only where as it is enabled for permenent residence and work address.
    If we want to make this enabled for emergency address, what should we do. Is this control through any configurations?
    Thanks & Regards,

  • How to set button disabled property based on backing bean method

    JDeveloper 12c
    I have a table and a button on the page. When user selects certain table row I want to enable/disable the button.
    My backing bean (which has backing bean scope in the task flow where the page is) is
    package view.backing;
    public class Studybrowse {
        public Studybrowse() {
        public String b1_action() {
              //Do something here
            return null;
       public boolean b1_user_auth(){
           // Do something here to return true or false
            return true;
    My button is something like this:
    <af:button text="Do something" id="b4" action="#{backingBeanScope.Studybrowse.b1_action}"
                   disabled="#{backingBeanScope.Studybrowse.b1_user_auth THIS DOES NOT WORK}"
                   partialTriggers="t1"/>
    The first problem is in design time, it says: "Reference backingBeanScope.Studybrowse.b1_user_auth not found"
    and in runtime, desired behavior does not work.
    Any help is appreciated

    Timo:
    I changed my backing bean method like this:
        public Boolean isUserAuthorized(){
            // some code here that will return true or false, hardcode to true for now
            return true;
    and the button disabled property like this:
               <af:button text="Go to Reports!" id="b5" action="#{backingBeanScope.Studybrowse.b1_action}"
                           disabled="#{backingBeanScope.Studybrowse.isUserAuthorized}"
                           partialTriggers="t1"/>
    Still same problem in design time there is a warning and 500 error in runtime.

  • Windows Service Manager 32-Bit Has Stopped Responding/iPod not showing up in iTunes

    Hello,
    I've scoured this forum for answers but I cannot find any result that works. I have an iPod classic that I've connected to my Gateway running Windows Vista for over four years without issue. When I was using iTunes 9 the other day, I plugged my iPod into my computer, but it only connected to My Computer and didn't connect to iTunes and update my iPod accordingly. So, the iPod is charging and the iPod is showing the "Connected, Eject before disconnecting" screen, but it isn't adding new music (which kind of defeats the purpose of buying new music). I thought it was because I was using 9, so I downloaded iTunes 10, but the issue still popped up.
    This hasn't pop up today after I installed 10, but back when I was using iTunes 9 the following error came up on my computer: "Windows Service Manager 32-bit Has Stopped Working." Now, no error messages pop up, even though the problem persists.
    I've tried suggestions in this post as well as in this post. Also, with the fix being recommended in those threads to change the code in Notepad by clicking "edit" under the System tab under My Computer? There's one problem - there is no edit button on my options. I've included a screen grab to prove this.
    I don't know if the relative age of the discussions makes any difference - maybe a new fix has com up and i'm just not finding it? Plus, since this issue began with iTunes 9, I can't help but feel like getting rid of iTunes 10 is going to help the issue, either.
    This is incredibly frustrating, not being able to add new music to my iPod, so if anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it, as previously recommended ones aren't useful.
    Screen grab of iPod connecting to My Computer, but not iTunes:

  • "Failed to connect to the service manager" when I try to add nodes to a cluster on Windows Server 2008 R2

    Hello,
    I get the following error message everytime I try to add a node to an existing cluster "Failed to connect to the service manager".
    I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2,
    Any ideas?

    Hi saeedawadx,
    Please run the cluster validation and post the error or warning information, in normal scenario the “Failed to connect to the service manager” issue often caused by the firewall
    or AV soft block the others node connect, please try to disable the firewall and AV soft then try again.

  • Adobe service manager keeps crashing

    Hi,
    always get the same erroe "adobe service manager stopped" working, on startup and every couple of minutes, while working with adobe applications.
    Problem is connected to ntdll.dll
    Windows 7
    CS6ServiceManager.exe
    3.0.1.46
    4fe81e0b
    ntdll.dll
    6.1.7601.17725

    Hi Zylinde123,
    The ntdll.dll file referenced is one which is part of Windows. That file shows as being 1.23MB on my system.
    I'd try temporarily disabling UAC on your system to see of the behavior persists and quitting all programs running in the background and see if the behavior persists.
    You can typically right-click and choose close or quit for most programs in the system tray
    Disable and Turnoff UAC in Windows 7 from Control Panel
    1. Access User Control Panel from Start Menu -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Account
    2. Click on
    User Account Control settings link.
    3. Move the Slider to Never Notify
    4. Click OK to make the change effective
    5. Reboot.

  • Cannot connect to the Service Manager portal WCF service - Error when opening SM Portal

    Greetings,
    I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this issue and I have tried all suggestions I have found on Technet.
    Basically, I had the SM Portal working on a test VM.  I am ready to use it in production but it is not working.  I deleted my test VM and built a new one.  On it, I have SharePoint 2010 Foundation and the SM Portal installed.  I have
    a valid self-signed cert.  the FQDN is correct (hqsrva24.dds.local) in both SharePoint and also in IIS.  I also made sure under Application Settings on the SM Portal IIS site points to the FQDN of the SCSMWebContentServer.
    So what happens when I go to the SM Portal (https://hqsrva24.dds.local:444/SMPortal) is it prompts me for a logon, which i put in and the site comes up.  But at that point the Silverlight portion is not loaded and I immediately get prompted for a logon.
     I have tried several different logons, all of which have full access to the site in Sharepoint.  Eventually I get the error in red at the bottom of the screen "Cannot connect to the Service Manager portal WCF service"
    If I try to access the Web Content Server service on its own (https://hqsrva24.dds.local/Servicehost/services/DataAccessService.svc), I get a prompt to logon and none of my logons work.  i eventually get
    an unauthorized error. However; If I log into the server which SM Portal is on and go to https://localhost/Servicehost/services/DataAccessService.svc, I get no prompt to login and I get a "Metapublishing for this service is currently disabled."
    I'm out of ideas at this point, barring completely starting over (not just the SM portal but all of the Service Manager Suite).

    Man I've had this problem so many times and its almost always a different solution. Are you sure that either the Domain Users group or NT Authority\Authenticated Users have permissions to the site and service. remember the the two prompts are authenticating
    different things: the Sharepoint site and the application site (silverlight). Make sure users have permission in both SCSM and in Sharepoint.
