SBO users and licenses

Hello, I´ve got a problem with SBO and I don´t know how to resolve it. The question is the next:
How can I know  the Differences between the diferent tipes of licenses and users??
Thanks.

Hi,
There is a license guide file that you could use to find the differences. You could download it from SAP B1 partner portal --> documentation resource center (for updating file) or in the product CD.
The licensing option are :
1. Application license
2. SDK license
3. Addon solution license
4. DI server license
If you want to assign the license per user, you must buy all the 4 options according to the user that will need it when using SAP B1. No. 1. is a named user model. SDK is concurrent model. No. 3 is named-user model (license are allocated per user name). DI is unlimited concurrent model, so the number of users can connect to DI server are unlimited. let me know if need more detail

  • Amount of users and license agreement?

    Hi
Sorry about posting about this topic, might not seem really relevant to the forum but I’m struggling to get support.
Ok, I just basically want to make really sure before I purchase Flex for my freshly started developing company:
    1. When I purchase a copy of Flex, how many users can use the product in the company, or can I use it freely to all the employees of the single purchase?
    2. Just to confirm before purchase. The licensing regarding selling of flex created software is for free?
Like I said before, my company is fairly new and there is no room in making errors in purchasing languages. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards
    Jacques

If you mean Flex Builder, the prices quoted on the Adobe site at the page below are single-user licenses:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/buy/
You will need to purchase a license for each developer. Volume licensing options are available so I'd suggest clicking the "Have Adobe Contact Me" link and discussing further with them.

  • Number of concurent users and licenses. ODBC

    Hello
I have code that connects to Oracle with ODBC and uses one USER, but makes multiple concurent connections.
Can I pay for one user license or for any one of this connections.
    Thanks
    Ivan Andonov

Dedicated server is the default. It means that each and every user session is serviced by a dedicated Oracle server process. 200 user connections? 200 dedicated server processes.
On Windows these are however threads inside the physical oracle.exe process (and not actual separate process images like on Unix/Linux for example). A standard thread on Windows needs around 2MB of kernel space. So 200 threads, for 200 dedicated server connections, need 200 x 2MB RAM.
So instead of having 200 dedicated server processes to service 200 users, you can for example use 5 dispatcher processes and 30 shared server processes to service the 200 sessions of those 200 users. In this case 35 processes are used that translates into 35 threads at a basic 2MB RAM cost per thread. (also note that the UGA now moves from the Oracle PGA to the Oracle SGA and the SGA needs to be sized accordingly).
Please read detailed reply by Billy at below link :
    Shared and Dedicated Server...
could you suggest me upto how much concurent users , i should configured it as shared server?Yes, for 200 concurrent user, shared server configuration is recommended.

  • Users with license

    Hy,
is there a report or something where I can view which users have license ??

    Greetings,
Thats a really good question, and currently we view the users / license info from "\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One ServerTools\License" folder and call out the "B1Upf.xml" to view the users and licenses applied to the users.
Its hard to say, run a query and show me what users are licensed (and show the type; Pro, CRM Sales etc) because you could have multiple users on each company database (named users!).

I am interested in purchasing Adobe's Creative Suite 6 Master Collection for Mac and Windows (Single User Educational License) FOR STUDENTS & EDUCATORS ONLY. I am purchasing this program for my son who attends George Washington High School: The College Academy in New York, New York. He is a sophomore and is interested in web design. I would like to know if he is eligible to use/activate the Creative Suite 6 Master Collection for Mac and Windows (Single User Educational License) FOR STUDENTS & EDUCATORS ONLY prior to my purchase.

Peru Bob makes a good point.  I just assumed the OP understood what the System requirements | Adobe Creative Suite 6 were.

  • SAP user licensing - service users and system users

    Hello,
In SAP licensing process, will it count service users and system users for the license.

  • SBO Client and Windows Vista in workgroup Licence error

    Hi!
My customer runs B1 2004C. Network structure is workgroup. Client and server are in the same workgroup. XP users connect successfully, but new Vista user gets the licence error: "-2147024891 Access denied". DCOM and other customizations on the licence server are done like in SAP Notes. It doesn't help.
I know Vista is not officially supported by 2004C B1, but i have several Vista users running SBO fine in domain structure. I think the trouble is in the workgroup.
    Thanks a lot!
    David.

    Hi David,
some of the SAP Notes addressing DCOM access denied problem of 2004 releases.
    <b>Note 833798 - After Upgrade W2003 to SP1: Access denied -2147024891</b>
    Symptom
After upgrading Windows 2003 server to SP1 you get the access denied error -2147024891
    Other terms
    license server, error -2147024891
    Reason and Prerequisites
Upgrade to Windows 2003 server changes security settings
    Solution
The problem is caused by SP1 for W2003 Server. You have to change the
default configuration of the DCOM to enable clients to access license
    server again:
    1. go to "Start/run", type in "Dcomcnfg" and the Dcom configuration will open
    2. expand "Component Services"
    3. right click on "my computer", open "Properties"
    4. go to tab "Com Security"
    5. in "launch and activation permission" go to "edit limits" this
    button is new since SP1
    6. tick the boxes "remote launch" and "remote activation" for user
    "everyone"
After that the clients can access the license server again, if all nescessary rights are give in the DCOM as well. When the changes described above did not take effect, please check this additionally:
    1. go to "Start/run", type in "Dcomcnfg" and the Dcom configuration will open
    2. expand "Component Services"
    3. Go to "SBOLicense", open "Properties" by right-clicking the mouse
    4. On register tab "Security" customize all permissions. Add all nescessary User accounts there. If you add i.e. User Group "Everyone" there, you will not have access right problems any longer, as every user belongs by default to this group.
If that change does not take effect immediately, reboot the server.
This note is permanently updated. If you have any comments or proposals tho improve it, please contact the SAP Business One Hotline and let us know.
    <b>Note 824976 - error -2147024891, access denied to license server</b>
    Symptom
error -2147024891 when trying to connect with B1 client to license server on another computer The License mechanism needs a properly set up license server which is available over the network via DCOM interface to client computers. The necessary windows user rights must be assigned to client and server.
    Other terms
Access denied, SAP Business One, License server
    Reason and Prerequisites
    Functionality description
    Solution
    1. Is the license server up and running?
The B1 client on the license server computer should be started and logged into to ensure that there are no problems withs the license server itself. The B1 Server tools should be opened and the settings of the License Manager should be checked so that it is possible to connect by pressing the Connect button.
    2. Is the network connection between client and license server working?
The server should be pinged via its IP-address for a response. Any firewalls should be disabled between client and license server for troubleshooting reasons as they can effectively block data packets which are needed for license mechanism. If a VPN is used between client and license server all ports should be available.
    3. Are necessary windows user rights in the domain given?
We highly recommend to use B1 in a windows domain, as this is the only way to manage user accounts effectively. Domain user accounts have to be configured on the domain controller computer only. For troubleshooting reasons log in at the client with the windows domain administrator account, that should prevent the user from being blocked due to a lack windows user rights. According to our recommendations the users should be Power Users on the local computer.
    4. Are necessary windows user rights in a workgroup given?
If the user is in a windows workgroup, the same user account should be configured with the same password on the license server and on each client computer as well. For troubleshooting reasons a local admin account should be configured on each of these computers. As account information is stored locally on each computer, username and password must be exactly the same on each of the machines. Login with this local administrator account. According to our recommendations the users should be Power Users on the local computer.
    5. Is DCOM installed and configured correctly?
On the license server DCOM interface should to be installed and configured correctly. It is located under Control panel\administrative tools\ component service. Expand and in My Computer you will find DCOM Config\SBO License. Open its Properties and check configurations in Security tab. Add user accounts there, if needed.
DCOM should be enabled on the Client machines and on the server(s). In the Component Services expand to My Computer and right click to open the Properties for My Computer. Go to the Default Properties tab and make sure that 'Enable Distributed COM on this computer' is ticked. If these settings are modifed a restart of the computer is needed for the changes to take effect.
    Br,
    Chris

  • Hi, I currently have Lightroom 5.6 for MAC and Adobe has launched Lightroom 6 - I am trying to understand if there is an upgrade path for 5.6 users and how much does it cost, if any or is a forklift upgrade i.e. new software all together.  Thanks

Hi, I am a Lightroom user and currently have 5.6 version (DVD Version).  The lightroom 6 version, for existing lightrrom users, is there an upgrade path or it is a new software entirely.  In either cases, what costs are associated.
    Thanks,
    Raj

LR 6 is a new payfor upgrade, $80 in the US if you have the serial-number-licensed LR 5.  If you're already using the CC version of LR+PS then it just comes along as a new app you can install.
It’ll run alongside your LR5 so you can try it out and see if it’s something you want.
The only trial is a LR-6-CC version that you can convert to a serial-number-licensed version if you buy a serial-number.  I think the download in LR 5 when it notifies you of an upgrade is what you can use to try it, although I don’t have personal experience with that seeing as I have the CC version of LR+PS so the CC App provided the Install button for me.
The main issues people are having are for some system configurations performance is worse.  Adobe rewrote it to use the GPU in the Develop module but some people’s video cards aren’t up  to the task, and for some people even turning off the GPU, while speeding things up, doesn’t make it as fast as LR 5.
On my system it seems to work great.

  • FND_USER and licenses

    Hello,
I would like to know how it works with licenses for Oracle users in Oracle EBS. Practically one userid is allowed per person to login into Oracle EBS
However, is it possible for more than one person to login into Oracle EBS using the same oracle userid?
    Is this allowed?
    Thanks for your answers

DonNothing would stop you from logging to the same application username from multiple clients at the same time. However, when it comes to the license you should share the same account between many users and consider it as one concurrent user. For license question please see the link below or contact your account manager (sales representative) as he/she is the best one to answer such questions.

  • High level user and Low level user

    Hi to all gurus,
How SAP diffrentiates between high level user and low level users?? I mean if the licences are for 25 high level user and 50 lowevel users, than how SAP will categorize the high level and low level user licenses?? Is there anyway where BASIS person has to specify??
    Thanks and Regards,

Ask your SAP Account Manager, he will be happy to explain it for you.

  • Can the license manager load the computer-based license first, instead of the user-based license?

We have several machines in the lab with computer-based licenses on them and a number of techs with user-based licenses. When a tech needs to occassionally sign in as themselves, instead of the generic service account, the license manager attaches the machine to their user account. Not a problem until they try logging in to LabVIEW from their own PC again and they get the 14 day trial period notice.
Is there a way to have the license manager look for the computer license first instead of the user license?
    Thanks for any help.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Joe,
In the license file hosted on the license server, you may be able to manually change the "sort" tag in the file to modify the order in which VLM checks out licenses. Licenses are checked out in descending order (2, then 3, then 4, etc.). Typically, your license file is set up in a default order, but in special cases such as this, it may be beneficial to alter the order. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Open the license file with a text editor (such as Notepad)
    2. Search for the "sort" tag. For instance, the "VLM_Core" entry will have a sort tag value will appear as "sort=first". Do not alter this value. VLM_Core should always be first.
    3. Change the sort tag value for the named-computer license to a value that is lower than the sort tag value for the named-user license. (e.g. "sort=2" for named-computer and "sort=3" for named-user).
    4. Save the file and reinstall the license.
Let me know if you have any questions!
