SBS 2011 Remote Website Not Available in IE

I can't get to my /remote website from outside my LAN using IE. I can get to it from firefox and am able to log in with no problems but am not able to RDP into any resources on my domain.
I am able to log into /RDWeb and /OWA using IE from outside our network...
I thought the issue might have been security settings in IE so I've pointed my IE to another client's SBS 2011 Server and am able to open the site. Does anyone now what I can do to troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks,
Dave

Hello Larry, I never fail to post in the wrong thread... Thanks for your reply.
I did not add a DNS entry for remote.mydomain.com on our internet DNS. I am accessing the site the same way I get to our /owa site. https://mail.mydomain.com/remote
When browsing to the URL in IE nothing comes up, it acts as if the site does not exist. The odd part was that I can use Firefox to browse to the site, log in, and view resources on our domain. RDP connections to any PC or Server in my domain always fails
in Firefox though.
I've been trying to log in my site for days and got the same result every time using IE. I tried it one more time last night so I could report exactly what IE Showed but I was finally able to log in using IE...
Last night before IE connected to the /remote site I went into the session state of the /Remote site in IIS and changed it from In Process to Server State... I did this just to see if I could get IE to behave in a different manner than the blank page...
RWA threw errors when trying to log in from outside the network using IE, I changed it back to In Process and at that point IE allowed me to log in and I was able to use RDP to log into the SBS2011 Server.
I thought I could come back to it this morning and test more connections but now I can log into /Remote using IE but am not able to RDP into any resource in the domain...
I'm at a complete loss so any help you or anyone else could offer is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Dave

  • SBS 2011 Remote Web Workplace issues not enough memory???

    Hi,
Were having problems with the RWW website on our SBS 2011 server, users are able to logon, but the connect buttons of the computers are not working, if we click on them nothing happes, no error message, nothing.
When a users logs on we see 5 error messages in the application log of the SBS server, 4 times event 3 appears and 1 time event 1309, all messages say there is not enough memory available (less then 5%). When we close some applications/services and the memory
usage is below 95% the RWW websites works fine and the connect buttons function properly.
This server has 16GB of RAM, beside the standard SBS 2011 installation we installed only anti-virus and back-up software on this server.
We have several other customers that are running SBS 2011 servers, they have less internal memory and sometimes just 98% of free memory, but their RWW websites function without any problems and don't get these error messages.
Can someone tell me how to resolve this problem?

Yes, many of our customers use the same anti-virus software, Kaspersky AV 6.0, and the same back-up software, Ashay online back-up.
A reboot temporarily solves the problem but when the memory usage gets above 95% the problem gets back.
This site has about 40 user accounts.
The error message states the following:
To resolve this problem reducethe load on the
computer or modify the valueinFreeMemoryPercentageToActivateService in
    the configuration element service
    hosting environment.
Where could we check if there is a limit of 5% or less free memory set, which configuration file should we check?

  • Suddenly Airtunes Remote Speakers Not Available

I've been using Airtunes for quite a long time with a single problem. Now suddenly I was playing music using iTunes v7.1.1 and the playback stopped. Even so I was able to get to web pages and send and receive email. I noticed that my remote speakers showed at the bottom right of the iTunes window but they were italicized- which means they are unavailable. I then tried connecting to my base station with a wireless connection and it came back. Went back to my wired connection and no remote speakers! OK, so I thought it was the router that the base station and my Mac is connected to so I power-cycled the router and I got the remote speakers back. Started playing music again then a while later (a couple of hours) same thing happened. Power-Cycling the router always brought it back but I thought my router might be failing so I installed a brand new one. I was surprised when later iTunes stopped playing to my remote speakers again. Although I had no need before, I mapped UDP port 5353 to my Airport Express and started playing music. After a while the same thing happened- AirTunes just stopped playing. Power-cycling the router always brings it back, temporarily. So it wasn't the port, and it can't be the router. Anyone have an idea what may be going on? I've see that PC users are having this issue and turning off Bonjour fixes it for them, but I'm using a Mac (PPC) running OS 10.4.9. I did try turning off IPv6 but that didn't help- turned it back on. I'm now thinking it's iTunes 7.1.1. I'll try downgrading to an earlier version to see if that resolves the issue. Anyone have any other ideas?

Until today I had exactly the same problem.
Have you changed or upgraded your anti-virus recently? I have a PowerBookPro and a Dell XP PC on the same wireless network, Netgear main modem/router with 3 Airport Expresses each connected to amps/speakers. Suddenly recently the Mac could still see remote speakers via itunes, but the PC could not.
Turned out it was my upgraded antivirus, upgraded from eset nod32 to eset smart security on default settings. The default eset personal firewall settings are "automatic mode" where the sofware monitors all network traffic and imposes its own rules. I changed this to "interactive mode" where any traffic came up with a dialogue box to ask my permission.
Lo and behold, itunes had been asking permission to acces the airports, but been auto-denied. New setting allowed me to give permission and sure enough the speakers now appear in itunes.
Lesson: try fiddling around with settings of anti-virus monitoring software: it worked for me.
    Hope this helps.

  • Server 2012 R2 Essentials, Remote Website not accessiable, however the //CONNECT is

    Hi there,
    Question for someone.
I don't know when this started.  but after a recent reboot of the server, I noticed that about 3+ days that I'm not able to access the remote.yourdomain.com from my server.
So did a quick reboot and I was able to access.  Assuming problem fixed right.   Nope.  3+ days after same issue.
When I try accessing the server from localhost/remote.   It doesn't work either, but after a reboot it does.  However, I can access //SERVER/Connnect fine from both localhost/connect, or //servername/connect.
When I try to browser, all I get is a Spinning wheel in all browsers, and then nothing. No error code nothing.
I've looked at all services, all running fine, event took a snap shot of the service before and after a reboot. None of the services are stopped
Look at the Application Pools, all running, did a restart of them all to see if that was still didn't' fix the issue.
Tried a rebuild or Fix via the small business wizard.
Tried access via IP and server name.
Tried accessing outside the network same issue.
The only thing that does is a reboot.
Any ideas on where I should look?  It was working fine, but when it stopped working I don't know.

    Hi Tech_Kevin,
Did you remember which operation had been done recently? For examples: install updates or install third-party applications.
    Please use the
Configuration Troubleshooter tool that Robert created to check IIS and Certificate. Any find?
-->When I try to browser, all I get is a Spinning wheel in all browsers, and then nothing. No error code nothing.
Would you please provide a screenshot of the issue? In addition, please add the RWA link in
Compatibility View and Trusted site in IE, then check if this issue still exist.
If any update, please feel free to let us know.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu

  • Website not available to public.....suddenly password and name required.  Anyone?

I created a website in Iweb and piggybacked it onto a domain name with Go Daddy.  I received a call from a potential client that she couldn't access the website because it kept asking her for a name and password.  I haven't changed any of the specs and the website had been working fine since the end of June.  What do I do to sort this out?

The site that opens with this URL ...
    http://web.me.com/mermaidphotography/
... is the one named "Photography_Four_Paws"
This is the one whose index.html file is in the Web/Sites folder on your iDisk.
If you want a different site to open with this URL, you need to upload its external index.html file to replace the one that's there.
To get to this folder, from the Finder Go menu, follow the path - iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites. Double click the index.html file that's in the Sites folder.
The alternative is to re-upload all your sites making sure that the one you want to open with this URL...
    http://web.me.com/mermaidphotography/
... is the to site in iWeb.
The other sites will require the folder name in the URL as OT has pointed out.

  • Keynote Remote not available from South African Mac App Store

    Hi
I Just bought Keynote from the Mac App Store and discovered that the sister app Keynote Remote is not available in the South African Mac App Store. Not only is this app missing but there is no games category and there are other very useful apps which aren't listed. This means no Fight Control or Simon Says
Any way this can be rectified?

    Hey Cybeo,
You are correct! There isn't a games section on the South African Mac App Store. Strange.
I would drop a note to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ unless there is a reason someone else might know of?
Is the Keynote Remote application not showing up for you in the iTunes App store under South African?
    Direct Link http://itunes.apple.com/za/app/keynote-remote/id300719251?mt=8
Keep in mind that the stores while they share the same AppleID are different for iOS devices like iPhones/iPads and iPod Touch then it is for your Macintosh Computer.
    I hope that helps!

  • [SBS 2011] Weird problem installing Internet Explorer 2011

The update for Internet Explorer 11 would not install for a long time on the SBS 2011 server. Not such a big deal, since I hardly use Internet Explorer anyway. Last month, I decided to dig into it, since the update for Internet Explorer 10 and 11 pop up
every time I log on to the server. The installation of the update fails with error 9C59. Googling this error, I landed on this page: http://www.microsoftsupportchat.com/blog/post/internet-explorer-error-9C59/
Performed the commands listed and... updates installed without problem. Ran Internet Explorer and it read version 11. Until yesterday. Logged on to the server. Windows Update popped up with updates for... Internet Explorer 10 and 11. Huh? Ran Internet Explorer
and it reads version 9. Huh????
Somehow Internet Explorer 10 and 11 got removed and I wonder how that happened. And as before, the updates will not install. Same error as before. To make things worse, the trick above doesn't solve the problem this time.
    What's going on here?
    Simon

There's only one admin and that's me. I didn't remove the updates...
Here's what the System eventlog says:

  • SBS 2011 VM regular unexpected shutdowns, unable to find cause.

    Hi,
I have an SBS 2011 virtual machine running on ESXi 5.5 / HP DL380 G7. This particular VM is reporting unexpected shutdowns at regular intervals, at first it happened once or twice every few months but in the last few weeks it has started happening every
    2 days between 1am and 2am.
There are other VM's on this server that are not effected.
The event logs don't report anything suspicious until after the unexpected shutdown when I get the unexpected shutdown errors.
Steps I have taken so far to isolate the issue are as follows.
    1. update the firmware on the HP server.
    2. update ESXi from 5.1 to 5.5
Unfortunately these steps have made no difference. Any idea on what might be causing the SBS 2011 VM and not the others to have this problem? It runs a rather large exchange database and all these unexpected shutdowns are a cause for concern.
    Regards,
    PM

    Thanks for the suggestions,
AV updates take place between 7pm and 11pm at hourly intervals (previously hourly all day)
We use Shadowprotect for our backups and an incremental backup it taken on an hourly basis between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, a full backup takes place on a Saturday afternoon.
I've gone through the system logs and tried to compare what's happening at the time of the crash on the days it did/didn't happen and have noted the differences below.
Between 1:00am and 1:30am on a day the server didn't crash there are GroupPolicy Event ID 1500's in the System logs and not much else.
on the days ( this morning ) it did crash there are those same 1500's as well as some Service Control Manager Event ID 7036's in the System logs immediately after a group policy update of 7 objects. The 7036's are as follows.
30/03/2015 1:05:05 AM Service Control Manager
7036  The Portable Device Enumerator Service service entered the running state.
30/03/2015 1:05:06 AM Service Control Manager
7036  The Windows Defender service entered the running state.
30/03/2015 1:05:07 AM Service Control Manager
7036  The Windows Defender service entered the stopped state.
30/03/2015 1:07:05 AM Service Control Manager
7036  The Portable Device Enumerator Service service entered the stopped state.
There are then some more 1500's until 1:25am then at 1:28am I get Event ID 12 The operating system started at system time ‎2015‎-‎03‎-‎29T14:58:12.109999300Z
The application logs seem more promising, see the screenshots below. First where the server didn't crash and second where it did. (crash was at ~1:26am)

I have since removed the certificate 805XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I have not yet removed certificate 114XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
as I get the following error in EMS
The internal transport certificate cannot be removed because that would cause the Microsoft Exchange Transport service
to stop. To replace the internal transport certificate, create a new certificate. The new certificate will automaticall
y become the internal transport certificate. You can then remove the existing certificate.

I have not yet followed up on this, and I'm unsure if it's related.
There is no unusual performance issues or memory use, there is 76.6GB free on this VM.

  • SBS 2008 - SharePoint Connect to Calendar over HTTPS not available

    Hello,
We have a client with a SBS2008 server using SharePoint internally without any issues through http://companyweb.
Recently the Port forward (TCP-987) has been completed and the website loads with the correct certificate through the https://remote.domainname.com/RWW and then into the Internal Website http://remote.domainname.com:987.
Internally we can configure the outlook clients to connect to the SharePoint client with the "Connect to Outlook" Action item, this works great. However if you navigate to https://remote.domainname.com:987/
and try to do the same thing the "Connect to Calendar" and the button is not available to click on. This also doesn't work when
externally either. It appears to only work over HTTP. Ideally I want to run this over HTTPS so the end users when remote aren't using VPN
    for access to the information.
Is this feature only available over HTTP? I was thinking it might come to the password prompt I receive when ever trying to log into the SBS Website over
    Https://.
Any nudges in the right direction would be great!
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
Would you please let me confirm current situation of this issue? Did this method (Add the HTTPS site to Trusted
sites) help you to solve this issue completely?
If this issue still persists, please open Event Viewer and check if you can find some relevant events. It may
help us to go further. Meanwhile, please run
SBS BPA and fix all that it can find, then monitor the result.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu

  • SBS 2011 GPO for changing the default save location for Word/Excel 2013 not working

So this is a strange one. I've got an SBS 2011 server that's the only domain controller in the org. I've created a GPO to change the default save location for Excel 2013 and Word 2013 using the Office 2013 ADMX files which were installed to the PolicyDefinitions
    folder.
The GPO (U-Office2013 Default Save Location) only contains:
    1. User Configuration - Microsoft Excel 2013/Excel Options/Save - Default file location - Enabled - Z:\
    2. User Configuration - Microsoft Word 2013/Word Options/Advanced/File Locations - Default file location - Enabled - Z:\
The GPO is linked at the OU that contains my users for my SBS organization.
When I do a gpupdate /force on a windows 7 system with office2013 installed, and then run a gpresult/rsop, the policy appears to be applied successfully as it lists my GPO under the Applied GPOs list on the workstation:
    Applied GPOs
Default Domain Policy dyndns.local AD (24), Sysvol (24)
    U-Office2013 Default Save Location domain.local/SBSusers AD (6), Sysvol (6)
In the gpresult report, the applied settings appear under:
    Administrative Templates
    Extra Registry Settings
    software\policies\microsoft\office\15.0\excel\options\defaultpath Z:\ U-Office2013 Default Save Location
    software\policies\microsoft\office\15.0\word\options\doc-path Z:\ U-Office2013 Default Save Location
BUT, when I go to the workstation, and check office->options-Save-default file path, the path has not been changed to what the GPO is pushing.
The strange thing is that in my test environment running 2008R2 server and Win7 with Office 2013 and identical settings the default save location is applied and works as expected.
    Any ideas?
I've already tried re-installing the ADMX templates and re-created the GPO's several times.
I should also note that other GPO's on the SBS2011 server such as the folder redirection GPO work as expected on the same windows 7 system. It just appears to be an issue with the default save location in office2013 and other Office 2013 related GPOs which
utilize the recently added ADMX template that don't seem to be working for me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Justin,
Thanks for your reply. I have tried several different user accounts (all have local admin privileges to the workstation) with the same issue. The default save path does not get applied from the GPO to any of the users i've tried. Here's the steps I took
    per your suggestion:
    1. log on as a user who has never logged onto the workstation before.
    2. run gpupdate /force (entered y for yes when prompted to log off).
    3. Log back in as the user and open Office and check the default save path. It has not been changed to match the GPO setting.
    4. Check rsop to see if the policy was applied. Rsop states the gpo was applied successfully.
I have attached the gpsvc.log file from a the session described above. The GPO Guid in question is: {DC3C93EC-7C28-48E9-BA38-FCA1E275A207}. Its common name is: U-Word 2013 Default Save Location. It's only setting is:
    Policies\Administrative Templates\Policy definitions(admx files retrieved from central store\Microsoft Word 2013\Word Options\Advanced\File Locations\Default File Location = Enabled\Documents = F:\

  • Bluetooth Not Available 10.7.2 2011 Intel iMac

    Hi Guys,
I need a little advice whether I have a software issue or Hardware issue with my (May 2011) intel iMac (27")
When I got the new iMac I migrated from old iMac with Snow Leopard and had no bluetooth issues at all.
I upgraded to Lion in July and Bluetooth was OK, 10.7.1 update seemed ok until 2/3 weeks ago, 10.7.2 has had no fix.
    This is the problem:
I have an Apple BT Keyboard, BT Magic Mouse & BT Magic Trackpad connected... all was ok untl 2/3 weeks ago.
Currently on the 'top bar' if I click on the BT icon, it says "Bluetooth: Not Available" ...... The BT icon itself has a 'jagged line' through it.
Bluetooth is not shown under System Preferences.. as if it does not appear on my iMac
Also if I check under 'System Information' and click on Bluetooth it says "No Information Found"
I have reset the PRAM and SMC & Verified and repaired HD several times.... all to no avail.
I have favourited the BT devices to the iMac allowed them to wake iMac etc, but does not offer a fix.
Over the last few days it magically comes back on for a while then cuts dead in the middle of 'work'.
What should my next step be?
Thank you very much in advance for any advice offered.
    PS:
I have checked the Console.App and have a Kernel log file with these 'panics', I admit this log is way beyond me but if anyone understands it, I'd be grateful:

Hi elcroz, were you able to fix the issue eventually? Was it a hardware problem? I'm seeing the same behaviour since yesterday (also on a mid 2011 iMac).
When I woke the iMac from sleep yesterday Bluetooth was "gone" - no connection to mouse and keyboard and the module had disappeared from System Preferences. I rebooted and the Mac booted itself into safe mode. I did a PRAM reset and that instantly solved the issue. But today I saw the exact same thing again, only that the Mac wouldn't even respond to my old USB mouse when I connected it. After a hard shutdown and restart everything seems fine… Bluetooth available and functioning. What the **** is going on here?
I just performed the Apple Hardware test and no problems were found.
I'm seeing some of the same errors in console you pasted, but only one line of each after a restart.
Strangely my keyboard was mentioned in the console logs and my mouse wasn't - so I will keep using a USB keyboard for now to see how it goes.
Anyway, I would really appreciate any advice - let me know how it turned out for you, if you get the chance. I don't want to bring the Mac to an ASP if it's not really necessary, the nearest one is more than an hour away from where I am….
    Cheers

  • SBS 2011 GPO for changing the default save path applying to Win7 but not working

    Thanks in advance.

When a group policy is not applying, it is often that it has been linked to the wrong OU. Please first check this.
You might also check the apply status on the client site based on the GPSVC.log.
    How to enable GPO logging:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/csstwplatform/archive/2010/11/09/how-to-enable-gpo-logging-on-windows-7-2008-r2.aspx
It looks more like an issue on server side than an issue of Office Group Policy settings. Try to post in Server forum and see if there is any luck:

  • I have an ipad that I purchased in Australia and my iTunes account is Australian, but when I try and watch Australian TV shows on Australian websites it says that the content is not available because I am not in Australia.

Please help! I have an ipad that I purchased in Australia and my iTunes account is Australian, but when I try and watch Australian TV shows on Australian websites it says that the content is not available because I am not in Australia. How can I fix this?

Are you using a proxy server to access the net?
Or another cause could be that your router thinks it's in its home country (probably china)
I just don't know how to fix it. There's a way but I don't know enough to advise.
You could try googling your router model and 'wrong country' or keywords like that and see if something comes up.

  • Installing Office 2011-Says software for installation not available

I've seen this same issue posted, but never found a resolution to the problem.   Office 2011 14.3.9 will not install on Mac Air that is running OS X Version 10.8.5.   Message says that the software needed for installation is not available on my computer.

What version of Office do you now have? You must have 14.3.8 to install 14.3.9. And 14.3.8 requires 14.3.7, etc.
