Sbs 580

Hi everybody: I just bought this sound system, my idea is to connect it to a Mac Book Pro, it has only two audio holes for plugging, but the thing is this system comes with 3 plugs (orange, green and black). When I turn it on, it works, but I wander if I better return this equipment -perhaps I?m missing some marvelous sound- or if there is an accesory I am lacking in order to connect the three plugs.
Any suggestions?

ur mac pro soundcard only support up to stereo or 2 channel speakers or headphone. if you have a 5.1 channel speaker and you want to fully utilize the speaker, you have to get a 5.1 capable soundcard that work with your mac. I'm not sure if there is any mac pro 5.1 soundcard available in the market.

Could you please let me know the price of the external sound card mentioned above .. I asked in Staples Bangalore where they quote the price to 4k which is more that the cost of my creative SB 580. Does not seem like a viable investment. Could you please advice here ?

Broken cable Creative SBS 580

Hello! At the beginning I would like to apologize for my English.
Returning to the question, I have a speaker Creative SBS 580 and long ago I broke off the plug. Now, it does not have. but I noticed that the same plug as in mouse (PS/2). Can someone tell me how to connect the cable to the plug? I would add that it is a six pin plug. Which cable connect to which pin?

The problem is that the front right satellite is not working properly, at the max volume I can hear it only whispering. I'm just wondering if it's the problem of my soundcard and I need a proper 5.1 sound card to get the full effect or is it the problem of particular system and I should contact the seller I've bought the speakers from? Any help is appreciated!

Hi, I am looking at getting the Creative SBS-580 5.1 speakers for my computer. I was wondering, how do these connect to the computer? Is it through a single 3.5mm cable, or is it through 3 separate 3.5mm cables?

SBS 580 with my Xbox 360?!?!?!

I have got some Creative SBS 580 5.1 surround sound speakers.

The thing is, the cable for the input coming from the speakers has three 3.5mm jacks, a green one, orange one and a black one! http://images.americas.creative.com/...67_hdr___6.jpg
The three cables look the same as this but obviously only half.
But how can i convert these into the sound part of the HD/VGA Cable which i am using to put my xbox 360 into my pc monitor?

SBS 580 power supply

I have moved back from the USA to the UK recently. I brought back with me a SBS 580 speaker system.
Un fortunately i left the power supply in the USA as it is a USA plug.
I need to buy a new UK power supply but i don't have the spec on the old one.
Can anyone help with the spec, i know its 12v AC but i don't know the power output or the plug size.
Any help appreciated.

I need to know the dimensions of the plug end which goes into the bass speaker.
An electronics store wouldn't know the size as there is nothing to work from to give them and idea.

Connecting The SBS 580 5.1 System to My SPDIF connection

Just got this new soundsystem for my laptop but i have a problem, my laptop unly has the SPDIF audio out connection and my sound system has 3 different connectors. (Orange-Sub, Black-Rear, Lime-Front)?So i need to convert these three connectors into my SPDIF.Can i get a connector to convert these ?Do i have to get a reviever with all these hookups ?If so, what shuld i get ?Thanks AlotBiles

Hi Biles, Firstly Have you got a free usb port? If so get yourself a "Creative Sound Blaster Live 24bit". Your minimum system requirements need to be....intel PIII or Celeron class 800MHz or faster processor, MicroSoft Windows xp(sp) or 2000(sp4),128mb ram, 340mb hard Disk space, Available USB. port, CD/DVDrom drive required for software installation ,ok so far , this may or maynot cure your problem,but....... I just bought the same system my self finding only half of my speakers were working. Istarted checking on the cheapest remidy "External soundcard" plugs in play you get a cd installation disk for all other needs (sound adjustments,speaker setups ect) but again hope this helps.

I am a relati'vely Spanish new user of Creative. But I fall in love the quality-price that I obtained with the audio one of my PC with SBS 580.
Now I buy a Creative ZEN 4GB.
Despite I want to open this post, stops of some form, between all to vote improvements, added and things that cambiarian (those that was possible) of Creative ZEN so that if it fits, he was even but explendido in his content.
I begin: That from the memory card SD, archi'ves of all type to the internal memory and of this to the SD can move. Possibility of creating, of moving and of renombrar folders like archi'ves from a site to another one.
That if reproduces from card SD or it fixes or formable, to be able to continue sailing by all the reproducer so that the use of the internal memory is obtained so sublime. That all this supposes a complicated work, but confio totally in the developers of Creative and their support, that unlike other supports, puts the batteries and update firmewares and that causes that the confidence of its clients holds fast but... since it has happened to me to my.

Adopting 3 minijacks systems (5.1) to soundcards without 3 outs

Is that possible to use 5.1 system (sbs 580) with electronics that does not support that 3 outs?For example can I use it with USB port or regular headphones jack through some connectors or stuff like that? If so, what will I lose in terms of sound quality or ability of balance the sound between the F/R or L/R?Realy need solution because I have only laptop in my household and it has no that 3 jacks for my 5.1 system.

If ur computer / laptop only has minijack, u can only have 2 of the 5 speakers to work (the front left and front right). If u want to utilize ur 5.1 speakers, u can buy external sound card that support 5.1 or 7.1 like creative audigy 2 nx or audigy 2 zs.

Center channel doesn't work

I just purchased a CL SBS 580 5.1 speaker system and a SB Audigy SE sound card. The installation of the sound card was uneventful, and sounds do work. Mostly, anyway. I installed it with the 5.1 speaker settings. Then I proceeded to disable my integrated nVidia sound chip on the motherboard that was previously working as my sound device. First thing I noticed was that WinAmp only seems to use the front channels and the subwoofer. I don't know whether this is a bug or a feature. After noticing this I ran a diagnostic on the setup. In the channel test, all other channels sounded fine except the center channel, which was mute. I switched around the right rear and center channels, and discovered that the speaker itself works fine (in the diagnostic, anyway). But the center channel doesn't. No white noise with the 'noise' test, and no female voice with the 'channel' test.
Yes it's plugged in properly into the center channel on the sub, yes it's turned on and yes the volume is at an audible level, both on the speakers themselves and in the sound card volume control.

Also, the sound does the same, sounding almost normal one second and choppy the next. But the biggest deal is the fact that I don't hear any speech! I read somewhere that the center channel handles speech in video playback, and without it I can't hear any talking.
Is the subwoofers center channel broken and should I go get another set with the warranty, or whats the problem?

Audigy 2 + Logitech Z680 speakers, only center channel and sub work

I have an audigy 2 and logitech z680 speakers, and only the center channel and sub are working. I have tried reinstalling drivers, unplugging and replugging everything, i even moved the soundcard to a different pci port. Whenever i try to install any creative things, it tells me that it cannot find any required components. (anything creative). If anyone has had a similar problem or can help, i could use any help i can get. Thanks!

Sharepoint Foundation 2013 On a SBS 2011 Domain??

I have an SBS 2011 domain with 2 servers(SBS2011 Premium) The SBS box acts as domain controller and the second server runs Server 2008R2 and has SQL 2008R2 on it for Dynamics GP and Dynamics CRM 2011 and hosts the Sharepoint Foundation 2010 Databases. Is
there a way that I can setup a Sharepoint Foundation 2013 farm. Currently both boxes are farm members in the 2010 farm. I would like to keep the setup similar but if I have to can I just run the farm on the 2nd server. Will it live side by side with the Sharepoint
2010 on the SBS box. What about Companyweb? Thanks in advance

Error connecting win 8.1 to sbs 2003 vpn

When I attempt to connect my (all antivirus off, firewall off, ports forwarded, gre enabled) win 8.1 laptop to my office sbs 2003 machine through a pptp vpn, I get an error. Here is the log:

SBS Server 2003 and Exchange Server - need to access but only have HDD

I have been redirected here from a Microsoft Community Forum. I am reasonably conversant with windows systems but am not a computer professional, just trying to see if I can solve a problem without spending a great deal of cash at this stage as
our office has been completely flooded out and we are still struggling to regroup....Here is the original question.
A couple of years ago our sever died completely, we kept the HDD's, but unfortunately not the CD's with the software on or the software keys. So I have now 2HDD's, the original boot partition and one with data on. both clean and fully working and
connected now to an old desktop. I can see everything fine, but I cannot boot from the original boot drive (I have tried simply disconnecting the desktop's boot drive and the windows logo shows for 1 second an d then chucks me back to the initial (DOS?) load.
The point is that I need to boot into SBS2003 with the exchange server installed in order to access a handful of old emails which have become extremely important, and also to run an old version of Filemaker server which will not run on any newer O.S.
I have tried, incidentally, a converter for the exchange files and I can see the directories but I think that unless I pay $xxx for something, which I cannot afford now, then I will not get the emails and all attachments back.
So my question is this - is there anyway I can use the original boot disk in a new hardware environment to restore both sbs 200 and exchange to working condition? I have paid vast sums for both so I do feel that I should be able to use them still!

get one pc with hyper-v or VMware. with enough memory.
install 2003 OS with sp2
run dcpromo add same domain name wich is old.
install exchange 2003 /with same ORG name / and install exch 2003 sp2
open exch console and Enabling the database to be overwritten on mailbox database
dismount database, rename database, and copy old database to new and mont database
run clean mailbox
create new user without mailbox.
select disconect mailbox and connect to new user.
