SBS2011 Network Reports failing to email

Hello all,
I have a number of SBS2011 machines that are failing to send the daily network reports.
I’ve done some troubleshooting already and cannot resolve it, thus this post.
Neither the scheduled report nor the “generate and e-mail report” method work.
When I try the “generate and e-mail”option, I get the error “An error has occurred while sending this report.  As a result, some of the recipients will not receive this report in e-mail”
The following error is also logged in the file C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business Server\Logs\MonitoringServiceLogs\DataServiceComponents.log
[16568] 141022.113000.4756: Messaging: MessagingTaskException: The operation couldn't be performed because object 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM' couldn't be found on SBS.DOMAIN.local'. - Error# (80006)
I’ve read various other posts in this forum and only one post was close but it wasn’t resolved despite someone marking it as resolved after suggesting to run SBS BPA.  BPA has been run on this server incidentally and it’s clean.  I’ve also followed
the instructions to manually repair the reporting services from the Microsoft blog.  Re-created ok but still no joy.
The error message from the DataServiceComponents.log suggests it’s a permissions issue but I don’t know how to resolve it.
I read that the SBSMonAcct account must be enabled for these reports to work yet one of the servers that we maintain that IS sending these reports via email to external addresses has this account disabled (yet the email still comes from
[email protected]).  So I am thinking that this account is irrelevant? It was disabled by default on our internal SBS and I tried enabling it but still no joy.
Anyone got any suggestions?  Much appreciated.

Hi, apologies for the late reply, I've finally got time to follow this up.
I've unmarked Susan's reply as answer until I have actually fixed it.  The linked info seems relevant but isn't hitting it on the head.
Reports cannot be generated manually, they fail whether manual or scheduled.  The receive connectors appear fine and are configured correctly.  The "Default SERVERNAME"
receive connector is still there and is untouched since the initial fresh install of this server.  I verified the config is as per;
and
I will try the fix my network wizard out of hours on our own server and update this post later.

  • Reports failing to Email - losing logon parameters

I have some reports that are failing to email.  There are 2 reports that fail everytime they are supposed to run.  The first report I have that is failing is not getting emailed when it should.  It says that there were incorrect logon parameters but I was able to pull up the report.  I have had a similiar issue but once I enter the password in for report it works fine but this issue is different.  The password is populated but the report will not email.  The other issue I have is a strange one and it this error is only on my other report.
ERROR:  Failed to retrieve initial report values.  For example, database information for this report could be incomplete or incorrect.  This is a configuration problem.  please contact your systems administrator.
Once I go to into the Central Management Console, I can refresh the reset the report, then it works fine, but this error comes up every week.  This report however, is not getting emailed, this error is seen when you try to view the report on infoview.
Has anyone had a similar problem?

  • CiscoWorks VMS Security Monitor competed reports fail to email

    Windows Server 2000
    VMS 2.2
    SecMon 2.2
We periodically have an issue with CiscoWorks VMS Security Monitor Reporting where VMS will stop emailing completed reports. In the past when we reboot the server the email which has been queued up somewhere all gets delivered and the email delivery will work for a few months until it stops again. We rebooted the server this time and the completed reports emails are still not being delivered.
When I test email functionality from the Windows command prompt with blat I can send email from the system through the mail server to my email address. All of the CiscoWorks processes are running without errors.
Where else can I look to troubleshoot this issue?
    Thanks in advance

  • Automatic Email When Scheduled Report Fails?

Is there a way to configure XI to automatically send an email if a scheduled report fails to run successfully?

This is actually configured at the report level from the CMC and not via auditing. For each report that you want notification(s)to be set for, switch to the Schedule tab --> Notification in the CMC. Enable email notifications as required. ie. "A job has failed to run. "

The reports works perfect, but after I run the commands bellow, the error: "Load report failed" occurs. To fix I need to give the NETWORK SERVICE read access to C:\ , It's possible to change this access to other diretory?

I don't believe that this is configurable, and i believe in other versions that you only needed to give list directory access to make it work.

  • Error in report generation-Load report failed

I have installed crystal reports  for VS2005 runtime in my live environment. When i try to load the report file from a .Net page i am getting the error'Error in Report generation-Load report failed'.
This works fine in development and testing but when moved to production we are having issues.
I believe i have a workaround i.e i need to open the rpt in a VS 2005 environment and re-write the connection string again. This fix had worked in development and testing when we had the same issue.
But not sure if this is a known issue with crystal reports and if so do we have any hot fixes for the same.
    Please help.

    Hi Don,
The reason why i posted the item on 'data Connectivity issues' is because i suspect the problem is with the connection string.Though i had provided the correct connection string,re-writing the connection string with the same info might help to fix the issue with loading the report.
Does it mean that there is a problem in the connectivity?
I have a risk here that i cant re-write the connection string..i.e to open the RPT file in VS2005 and bind it.The production web server & database server sits in a  third party environment and it is not in the company network. So i cant connect to this server to re-write from any other severs in the network.
Is there any fix which can applied to the server to get this issue resolved?
    Cheers
    Nithya.

  • NFR 2.5 - no autogenerated reports, fails on generation

    Hello,
we have NFR 2.5 installation with mutiple bindings to Windows and OES servers. The scans works well and we received information inside the databases (PG 9.2). I created some reports which will be work in the preview mode. The next step to schedule the reports fails. There are no reports inside the "stored reports" section. I reconfigure the log level to debug and see an error inside the report generation "Report generation completed with errors or warnings for report SERVER_FS_filextension: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at SRSReportGenerator.SRSReportGenerator.ReportThread (Object obj)".
Which are the next steps to fix this issue? Is there an other way to analyse the problem? I get the same error level for all reports on the system. I try also to delete these reports and recreate a new one.
Here you found a trace from the report generation:

  • Network drives fail (drives used to share databases among multiple computers).

I am using databases on multiple computers to store test results for a production line. The computers share info from thier databases with each other using dsn's made with the ODBC Windows XP Admin Tool (Control Panel). This works well most of the time but occasionally one of the network drives fails - I have to disconnect and then use ODBC to make a new connection (a new dsn). Why are the network drives failing? Should I use somenthing else that is more reliable? datasocket? Shared Variable? [email protected]

    Gary MavSysInc,
When you say that your program fails, are you referring to the same thing as your LabVIEW Application that is reterieving data? If so, what do you mean by it fails? Is there an error message? Does it Crash? What happens when it "fails"?

  • Scheduled Report Failing - Don't Know Why

I'm trying to re-create a scheduled report on CMC that had gotten deleted. It ran before (sometimes multiple times...) but at least it ran. I'm duplicating all the settings for this report based on how they were before, but every time I try to get the report to run, it fails.
I don't know enough about this to be able to embed any kind of error messages in the e-mail notifications we get. All I know is that no matter what I change/tweak/adjust, we get an email saying "This report has failed to run."
What kinds of things should I be looking at to troubleshoot? I know the report itself is fine, as users can view it normally (as in, through other viewers). There's definitely something specific to the scheduling process that is not correct, but I don't know what to look at.
Here is how the scheduling is currently configured:
    Schedule > Main Tab
    -Run Weekly, Tues - Sat
-Start Date: 10/01/08, 8:30 AM (I originally set this up yesterday, so today at 8:30 should have been the first time it ran, but instead it failed)
    -End Date: 10/01/18, 12:00 AM
    -Number of retries allowed: 0
    -Retry interval in seconds: 1800
    Schedule > Notification
-Email notification based on: a job has failed to run
-Message: Report failed to run. Scheduled Report: %SI_NAME% - %SI_STARTTIME% What other codes can we put in this message, BTW? I've been trying to look for something to return error codes, but %SI_OUTCOME%, %SI_STATUSINFO%, and %SI_ALERT_MESSAGE% don't display anything, they just print on the email
    Schedule > Destination
    -Destination: Email (SMTP)
-Clean up instance after scheduling is checked
-We have "Set the values to be used at schedule time here:" populated with our list of email addresses for recipients
-Attach object instance to email message is checked
    -Specified file name: %SI_NAME%%SI_STARTTIME%.%EXT%
    -Add extension is checked
    Schedule > Format
-Format: Microsoft Excel (Still fails if we choose Excel Data Only or Adobe Acrobat)
-Use options saved with report is checked (Still fails if we deselect this)
    Schedule > Schedule For
    -Schedule only for myself.
Could really use some help here, as I don't know what in the world could be causing this to fail. Thanks in advance.

First thing is to forget all the complex configs and just try to schedule the report to run once now, no alerts, no notifications, no nothing.
    Does that work?
Then you can build up the schedule, to see where the problem is coming from.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Load Report failed when opening Report under IIS 5.1

I recently upgraded to Crystal Reports 2008 (12) from Crystal Reports Basic 2008 (10.5).  I am using Visual Studio 2008 with the CrystalReportViewer.  Now when I run my reports from the website under IIS 5.1 (Windows XP SP3), I get a Load Report Failed.  The detailed exception follow:
    Error loading report (ConfigureCrystalReports)
CrystalDecisions.Shared.CrystalReportsException: Load report failed. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800001F5): The Report Application Server failed at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc.ReportClientDocumentClass.Open(Object& DocumentPath, Int32 Options) at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportClientDocumentWrapper.Open(Object& DocumentPath, Int32 Options) at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportClientDocumentWrapper.EnsureDocumentIsOpened() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportClientDocumentWrapper.EnsureDocumentIsOpened() at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Load(String filename, OpenReportMethod openMethod, Int16 parentJob) at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Load(String filename) at ncspo.ReportViewer.ConfigureCrystalReports() in D:\Websites\NCSPO\FIS\ReportViewer.aspx.vb:line 43
If I run the report using the ASP.Net Development Server, the reports run fine.  It only fails under IIS.  From other posts, I understand that i need to grant the Network Service and IIS_WPG group read/write permissions to the windows\temp folder.  I have done this for the Network Service, but the IIS_WPG group was not introduced until IIS 6.0.  Any ideas on how I can get this working under IIS 5.1?
Here is the code behind page:
    Private Sub ConfigureCrystalReports()
                Try
                    rpt = New ReportDocument
                    Dim strReportFilename As String
                    If Len(Request.QueryString("ReportFilename")) > 0 Then
                        strReportFilename = Request.QueryString("ReportFilename")
                    Else
                        strReportFilename = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("cr404Page")
                    End If
Dim strReportPath As String = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("ReportPath")
Dim strReportFilePath As String = strReportPath & strReportFilename
                    Dim strReportFilePath_Full As String = Server.MapPath(strReportFilePath)
rpt.Load(strReportFilePath_Full)    <--- Exception occurs on this line
                Catch ex As Exception
lblStatus.Text = "Error loading report (ConfigureCrystalReports)"
                    lblStatus.Text &= "<BR>" & ex.ToString()
                    ncspo.clsMisc.LogError(ex, Me)
                End Try
            End Sub

Am I correct in reading the following 2 documents that IIS 5.1 is not supported?
If you check this document.  It shows IIS6 and 7 no support on 5.  See page 6

  • Remote Speaker (AirTunes) Error - "the network connection failed"

I am getting a strange error message when I try to stream music through an AirTunes remote speaker. iTunes tells me this:
*An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker "NN". The network connection failed.*
I can't say what has changed for this error to occur. Last time I used the system it worked fine, now it doesn't. I do know I have upgraded iTunes a couple of times since, though.
I am connecting to an 802.11g AirPort Express running firmware version 6.3.
Both our computers (MacBook & MacBook Pro) run Mac OS version 10.5.8.
In my system, the AirPort Express functions solely as a wireless speaker client, as the WLAN network itself is based around an 802.11n AirPort Extreme.
The AP shows a green light, and reports no problems in AP Utility.
When I change the device's "iTunes Speaker Password" setting in AP Utility, iTunes in both our computers immediately reflect the change, so apparently the various parts in the system do speak to one another just fine. They just can't transmit music, for some reason...
Anyone have any idea what might be going on, here?

I have a similar problem. I use AE(g) with a Powerbook G4 and always get this error, which kind of bugs me, since all the settings appear to be correct. Unlike you though, I didn't make it work, not a single time — closing lid, opening and closing iTunes, resetting AE, yet no luck. Tried it all only with current versions of software.
However, the AE does sense when I unplug the speakers, since it first says "no speakers found", and then "the network connection failed". Strange is that the error has no number, nor does Console provide any clues. Sometimes it is pretty annoying when OS X just says "error". What error, where, why... Feels like good ol' windows times.

  • Adobe version checker : Network connection failed

    Hello all,
I recently wanted to try the new "Adobe Mobile Packager" to publish a FL application.
I succeeded in making the .sis file, with an empty certificate. When installing the .sis application, all went fine.
But when I wanted to launch it, it asked me to install the "new" other "Adobe Version Checker" application... but when it tried to connect, i have a great "network connection failed" prompting to me. and the application could not be launched.
Any idea to solve this ?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Thanks for the feedback.
The device is a Nokia N95 8Go. The network I want to connect to is SFR
    (French Network).
I didn't try with another network like Orange or Bouygues, I can try
this and report you the result.

  • Network Report Changed

    Hi All,
Cisco changed the way that Network Reports are done. No longer is the actual report Emailed. No Longer can you checked previous Email Reports. You can only check the current information.
If you like Network Magic and are unhappy about the current Network Reports, you need to speak up and call Customer Service and / or post your feelings here. Or you can just accept the changes.
I have no children, and really don't need Network Reports. But if you have children and want to check older Reports, you need to speak out and not remain silent.
thecreator - Running Network Magic version -5.5..9195.0-Pure0 on Windows XP Home Edition SP 3
Running Network Magic version -5.5.9195.0-Pure0 on Wireless Computer with McAfee Personal Firewall Build 11.5.131 Wireless Computer has D-Link DWA-552 connecting to D-Link DIR-655 A3 Router.

    A few thoughts :
    - I like the format of the new reports, but I don't need an email every day with the link when I could (theoretically) get to it via the NM Tasks section.  Currently this functionality seems to be broken and should be modified to provide the same link as the new emails.
    - The benefit of the (previous) daily email report for me was to have an overview of the links followed, allowing a final check for potential malware via the combination GMail/Finjan.
My ideal would therefore be a combination of old and new, and the chance to set the email report frequency to something other than daily (weekly would be optimum for me).
Perhaps we can collate the user requirements via this thread?

  • Schedule reports fail - CrystalEnterprise.Smtp

We have scheduled a report to run for all corporate employees.  When the schedule runs, here is what happens.
    - Report run and is marked in the running state
    - Report moves to pending state in history but the email is sent to recip.
    - Report moves back to running state
    - Report moves to pending state and again the email is sent
    - Report moves to running state
    - Report moves to failed but again the email is sent
In all, each recip gets three copies of the report and finally the report is marked failed.
The same report can be scheduled to addresses not hosted on our domain and only one copy is sent and the report instance is marked successful.
When the report fails, I get the following error : recipient error. []: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]
    Any help would be appreciated,
    Chris

    Hi John,
I have the SMTP address with the ports and we have our mail server.
As per admin guide, what would be the user for the destination ?
    User Name
Provide the Job Server with a user name that has permission to send email
and attachments through the SMTP server.
    Password
Provide the Job Server with the password for the SMTP server.
Can i just leave the user name and password so that the users email will be taken ?
Please refer to SAP Note 455140 to configure the SMTP plug-in to send emails. However there is no section in SAPconnect to enable you to add a user and password as a means of authentication. You will have to enter the IP address of your sending SAP application server to your mail server as a means of authentication to enable emails to be correctly relayed to your mail server.
    Hope this helps
    Michael
