SBWP and UWL

Hi Friends,
I am sending a work item for approval. If the approver selects reject button then a pop up should appear for him to enter the reason for rejections, this can be achieved through advance with dialog option if we are using SBWP, but in case of UWL this option is not available, so i am planning to use the user decision handler. In this case if the user login into sap then the dialog step after the user decision step(for getting the rejection reason's) should be used, but if the user uses UWL the user decision handler should be used and this dialog step should be skipped or else again a work item will be sent to the user for entering the rejection reasons. How to control this.

it is not necesary to check the tcode. you can pass the flag. there are function modules that return ping values its_ping which would clearly define that the request is coming from ITS. If the request is form ITS then its from portal (uwl) else its from R/3. This flag will help you to carry on with the further logic.

  • MDM Workflows and UWL in CE 7.11

    Hello,
I am working with MDM Workflows and UWL in CE 7.11.
For configuring the UWL, we need to set some property of MDM Result Set iView to
connect and display MDM workflows for an MDM repository in EP 7.0.
But in CE 7.11 the concept of Result Set iView is replaced by ResultSet component which we use as a used component in the custom wrapper (DC).
How to use ResultSet component  to configure UWL in CE 7.11 ?
    Thanks in Advance..

  • Extended notifications and UWL

    Hi Friends,
I am using Extended notifications for sending notifications to lotus notes. In the notification we can maintain shortcut to open the workitem in SAP GUI. But the users use only UWL to access work items. So Is there any way to maintain the link to be directed to the work item in UWL, is there a way of changing this email icon link to point at the portal rather than sap gui. Please clarify.
I heared that this can be maintained in General settings in SWNCONFIG, if so will this be a generic link to access the work list instead of specific workflow task?

    Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply. I tried to mention the UWL link in SWNCONFIG -> General Settings -> INBOX_LINK_URL and i am getting this is in notification. But i would like to know is there any way to dynamically generate the link along with the task id or work item id so that upon clicking the link the user can open the work item in UWL directly. Please let me know if this is possible or not.

  • BPM Process and UWL in Federation

    Hi,
I need to chekc the feasibility for the same.
I would like to create a BPM Process for a typical workflow in a CE 7.1 JEE 5 Application Server.
Now , I would like to connect a UWL formatted in a SAP Portal NW 7.0 as a consumer portal to the BPM Process.
Is there a feasibility to do the same..
    Best Regards
    Sid

Open your project explorer and expand the BPM project you have created. Locate a folder named "Rules" in the Project Tree. Right-click on the Rules folder and select 'Create new rule'. You can model your rules such as rule-scripts here and use it in the BPM.
Note: These rules cannot be used outside the BPM Project.

  • How to design this requirement  by GP, webdynpro, Adobe and UWL?

    The scenario is :
The supplier logs in the SAP Portal
    1) The first screen should be WebDynpro  screen with some filter selection which have drop downs etc populating from R/3
After selecting particular values and clicking on a button on screen an adobe form should open upon fetching detail from R/3
    2) This adobe form will have certian prefilled information and certian fields will be editable for the supplier to fill in.
After the supplier fills in the remaining data he clicks on "Submit" button on the form (Assuming this is online scenario).
    3) Now this form should go for approval as line item in inbox (portal inbox can be UWL/GP).
    4) Once the manager clicks on the line item which has come for approval, on click the filled adobe form should open up and
the Manager should have option to approve/reject. If approved the data should load in SAP R/3 (I assume to send data back to R/3 i will have to make this also WebDynpro  but how will it have the values that the supplier filled in and how can be it be open when clicked on line item in GP?)
Note: This all has to be achieved by using WebDynpro  for Java/GP/Adobe, no SAP R/3 workflow has to be used.
Kindly let me know how can I break this requirements into WebDynpro ,GP and adobe?

    Hi vishal,
We have similar requirement and currently I am working on it. One solution we have got is using portal database (MaxDB) for storing data temporarily.
Once the employee submits the data, it is stored in MaxDB, later manager can fetch it from here, and once approved it will be updated in SAP backend. Later a WD application callable object can be created in GP.
This link /people/karthikeyan.rammohan/blog/2007/12/06/jdbc-connectivity-with-webdynpro-and-max-db can help you in creating the table in database.
Please let me know if you have any better ideas.
    Hope this helps you,

  • GP and UWL

    Hi all,
I've configured the UWL to also show the GP Processes, everything works fine, the users are receiving their Notifications and can continue the processes. But one user cannot, this one is having this mistake when is trying to access the GuidedProceduresConnector:
An error occurred while trying to connect to the provider
And when we enter into the detail, the following is shown:
Time out occured. Time taken is more than 30 seconds
What can be happening in here, we've deleted the cache of the UWL and also the configuration of the GPConnector and then restart the portal and created again the GPConnector and the error persists...
    Thanks in advance!!
    Regards,
    María Margarita Monteverde

    Hi Luca,
Yes.. We've already applied this note, but this isn't the error we're having. The error is when we press the UWL Link for the first time and the GP Connector couldn't connect and shows a time out.
Thanks a lot for your help,
    Regards!

  • WD for Java and UWL work items (Adobe HCMPF)

    Hi Experts,
I am implementing the Adobe forms HCMPF from the HR Administartive Services BP based on  the 'old' WebDynrpo for Java. SAP references in SAPnote 1024326 that when the WD Java is preferred over the WD ABAP one can configure the Application Parameter "isEnabled=X" for the Java WD's.
This application parameter works fine for iViews like Start Processes and Search Process. However, the problems come when you open the work item for approving/editing a form that is received in the UWL.
These workitems call the WD application that is defined in ECC. However, they do not call an iView from the PCD but the application directly. Therefore I was not able to configure the Application Parameter "isEnabled=X" for these applications (eg sap.com/paasrformstep).
Can anyone please help and explain how to set the application parameter property for applications that are called directly fron the UWL work items?
Without this we can only start the processes but not contunue them after the workflow has started.
You expertise is greatly appreciated and will be rewarded when helpful!
    Regards,
    Thomas

    Solution found.
Edit the XML UWL configuration to inlcude the application property for the workflow work items in questions.

  • MDM workflows and UWL

    Hello,
We have recently upgraded ourselves to MDM 5.5 SP4 Patch pack 4. This patch pack was intended to solve an earlier problem we faced when integrating Universal Worklist (UWL) with MDM.
Earlier the UWL would return error in case the MDM workflows had worklfow jobs which the user had to not "Accepted". If the user "Accepts" it using MDM Data Manager, then the record would appear on the UWL.
I wish to know how we can configure the "Accept" button on the UWL, so that the user sees all the "Available" workflows and can "Accept" the workflow job which he plans to work upon.
    Thanks in advance,
    PKS.

  • GP's and UWL - 'From' value

I need someone to confirm something for me.  I have a GP with 3 block, 2 actions each.
    Block 1
    ......Action 1
    ......Action 2
    Block 2
    ......Action 3
    ......Action 4
    Block 3
    ......Action 5
    ......Action 6
Each of the actions are simple web dyn pro forms with 1 field and 1 button.  The actions result states were also set to go to the next action.
I went in and grouped each of the actions (12, 34, 56) into a roles (block role 1, block role 2, block role 3).
At the process level I identified each of the block roles as 'Initian Defined' and Default Definition Required.  I then went into my Default Roles and picked 3 separate portal roles (pRole1, pRole2, pRole3).  Each role group was assigned to a different portal user
    Block Role 1 -> pRole1
    Block Role 2 -> pRole2
    Block Role 3 -> pRole3
I then activated everything, logged out, and logged back in with a user who had pRole1.  I kicked off the GP and performed my first 1 step.
in pRole1 UWL, I can see the value of the 'From' as being the user that I am currently logged in as.  This is correct.
I then kicked off the second action.  The system tells me that it is waiting on another user or process which is correct because someone is pRole2 needs to execute it.
I log out and then back in with a user in pRole2.  I go to their UWL and see that the 'from' is the person from pRole1.  I click on the UWL entry to continue the process and complete the next two steps. Now, at the end of my action 4, it tells me 'action is complete.  Shouldnt this be 'action is ready for next user or role?  I then log out and then back in with someone in pRole3.
In pRole3's UWL, I can see the task however the from shows as the person in pRole1.  Shouldnt this be pRole2 since that person was the person that gave him the role?  Or is FROM always the person who initiated the process?
    Thoughts?
    I

This is the conclusion that I came up with as well.   The FROM is always the initiator of the process.  Since this seems to be the case, then I believe the difference in 'action complete' response messages are in the way GP handles the 'who can do what' part.
I would seem that since the initiator of the process is handing out tasks for others to complete rather than those people passing them off to the next person.  This is why the FROM is always the initiator instead of the last person who completed their task.  If this is the case, then all that matters to the person who gets assigned something is that their task is complete and that they dont really care about the next step (unless they are assigned to it).

  • Difference SBWP and SO01

Can anybody tell me the difference, and can I use SO01 if I dont have auths for SBWP?

    Hi Bonny,
if you are authorized for SO01 you can use a subset of SWBW.
If you are authorized for SE37, you may use function C160_TRANSACTION_CALL to use all transactions you are not authorized.

  • HTTPS and UWL and port 50001

When we click on the Manager Self Service tab in SAP portal when using https/ssl (https://server.company.com/irj/portal), all iViews appear correctly except for the UWL which is requested in a non-secure way over port 50000.
    http://server.company.com:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tckmcbc.uwl.ui~wd_ui/UWL
If I add the https port to the URL (50001), the UWL opens fine and secure:
    https://server.company.com:50001/irj/portal
    https://server.company.com:50001/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tckmcbc.uwl.ui~wd_ui/UWL
Any ideas on why this would be? For some reason, if I don't put a port on there and use https, the UWL iView changes to the http/port 50000 location. But if I use https and include port 50001, the UWL opens with the secure link.
Is there a setting somewhere that would cause the UWL to go to http and port 50000 unless I specifically tell it to go to port 50001?
Other webdynpro pieces open up fine, such as the team calendar:
    https://server.company.com/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/ess~lea/TeamView
Note: UWL config has the same problem as the UWL itself:
    /webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tckmcbc.uwl.ui~wd_admin/Configuration
Unless I specifically put port 50001, it'll go to http and port 50000, which is unsecured.
    Hopefully this explanation makes sense.

    Hello
Curious if there was any resolution to this issue - our situation is very similar, although I have not configured the portal to support HTTPS.  We are accessing via a load balancer (HTTPS) which then sends the request to the HTTP port of the portal.
Accessing the UWL by chaning the URL manually to HTTPS as you experienced works fine:
    https://loadbalancer.domain.net/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tckmcbc.uwl.ui~wd_ui/UWL
