  • How to do Enhancements in Reporting & What is Role and How to create Roles

    Hi All,
Can any one tell How to do Enhancements in Reporting, and also What is Role and How to create Roles in Reporting?
Plz reply back me on [email protected]
    Regards,
    Kiran

Reporting Enhancement - RSR00001 - BW: Enhancements for global variables in reporting
And using the SAP Exit - EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001
RSR00001- With this enhancement to global variables in reporting you have the option of determining your default values for variables. You can use this enhancement for variables, for which 'Processing by Customer-Exit' has been selected in the variable maintenance. This is valid for all variable types (characteristic value, node, hierarchy, formula and text variables). You use the Exit EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001 for this.
The Enhancement component (RSR00001) must be assigned to a Project Created using the Transaction CMOD. On activating the Project, the Exit would become active and in turn the logic written inside the Exit.
To ensure that the data warehousing soultion reflects your company's structure and business needs it is critical that you establish who is authorized to access the data. With SAP BW, Authorizations can be defined and maintained by object and can also be applied to hierarchies and these authorizations can be inserted into roles that are used to determine what type of content is available to specific users or user groups.

  • What are Roles and Role entry points in the context of windows azure?

I am just starting out with my journey towards understanding azure. I have a vague idea about the Web and Worker roles.
So when I am publish-deploying a website on azure from visual studio, am I doing something with respect to roles? Am I starting up a Web role?!
RoleEntryPoint: But this is actually related with the web/worker roles and services. My understanding is that the RoleEntryPoint is some code which is executed when you deploy "services" on the azure cloud. These services either have a web role or
    a worker role.
What is "services" in this context? So what traditional (on-premise) app would be analogous to a service that has a web worker role? A WCF service or WebApi? Or can it be a website? So would a service having a worker role be something analogous to
    a "windows service"?
And finally RoleEntryPoint. I don't get the use case. From what I've seen,
say you want to initialize some related services that support your main service, for e.g. a cache server, or a sql database, you have have the initialization logic written in these classes and make the code perform them.
There are definitely other ways to do this right? You don't need to necessarily tie the deployment of that main service with the initialization of the other services. They could be separate deployments, right?!
I am a bundle of mistakes intertwined together with good intentions

    Hi deostroll,
From you post I understand you've read quite a lot about Azure, but I'm affraid there's still some misunderstanding on what all these terms mean.
Azure is a cloud computing suite of services tiered into three categories: IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. IaaS stands for Infrastructure-as-a-service and is an offering where Microsoft allows you to run your own virtual machines. You will handle everything from software
patching, network connectivity (from the application level: virtual networks etc.), software installition and configuration etc. Basically everything you would do today on your own premise except for whatever concerns hardware (bare-metal). PaaS stands for
Platform-as-a-service, and is a middle offerint, where Microsoft selects some VMs and is responsible for periodically patching this machines. You don't have to care about IIS or whatever existing applications there are on the VM either, because it's Microsoft's
job to do this. Last but not least, SaaS stands for Software-as-a-service, and is the offering where you use a piece of software without even knowing what infrastructure exists behind it: I guess you've used some sort of webmail client before, right? That's
    a SaaS.
When it comes to Windows Azure, IaaS is offered as Azure VM, PaaS is offered as Azure Cloud Services (formely known as Azure Hosted Services, should you get across documentation that uses that term instead) and SaaS is offered in the form of: Azure WebSites,
Azure Mobile Services, Azure Media Services and many more.
When you talk about either web roles or worker roles, you actually talk about two forms of roles that exist in the context of an Azure Cloud Service. Basically, when you create a cloud project from Visual Studio, you end up in adding either Web projects
which might (but not necessarily) be linked as a Web Role to your Azure Cloud Service. You may also add, to the same solution, Worker Role projects. As you've probably already guessed, whenever you add a Web role, the web project it references is a web project
in the literal term: ASP.NET Web Project, whether that is WebForms, MVC, MVC WebAPI that's all completely up to you. However, what is a worker role project, you might ask? A worker role project might be though of just as a console application. You basically
get absolutely no UI, but your code runs as long as it runs inside an infinite loop at some point. If the loop stops, just like a console application, your worker role will stop which will force the Azure FabricController to refresh your role. Consider the
FabricController has the guardian of all roles, which will auto-magically 'respawn' your roles whenever something goes wrong, whether that's a software issue in your app, in the OS or a hardware failure.
Moreover, keep in mind that every role in your cloud service project ends up in being created as a separate VM. What this means is that you will have separate VMs for each roles in your cloud service, so even if you create several web projects, you still
get one machine, with one IIS instances with a single web application (yours) for each of your cloud's roles. Same goes for worker roles.
I hope this information clears up some of the questions you might have.

  • What is rfc. and uses

    <u></u>what is rfc. and uses

    Hi,
    RFC
    Remote Function Call:
RFCs are requests that an SAP component sends to invoke functions on remote systems, or calls that remote systems initiate to invoke functions on an SAP component.A process that can accept RFCs from SAP components. This allows SAP components to access functions in external systems. In SAP BC terminology, the process is called a Listener. Listeners are one or more threads on SAP Business Connector that wait for incoming requests from SAP components. Listeners are named and register with an SAP gateway to indicate that they are ready to accept requests. Listeners can accept RFC or tRFC requests.
Transactional RFC (tRFC) and Queued RFC (qRFC). tRFC is used mainly to transfer ALE Intermediate Documents (IDocs).
    Transactional RFC:
If an error occurs during a synchronous remote function call, the system cannot tell at what point the error occurred (most crucially, whether the function module was actually processed in R/3 before the operation failed). Restarting a failed call is therefore a dangerous thing to do, since you risk duplicating a completed function call.
To alleviate this problem, you can use transactional RFC, which guarantees that each function call you issue will only be executed once, even if you submit it repeatedly to the R/3 System. The system implements this safeguard by assigning a unique transaction ID (TID) to each transaction that you submit. When you attempt to process the transaction, the system checks whether that TID has already been processed. If it has, the transaction is ignored.
    Queued RFC:
When you use transactional RFC, you cannot guarantee the order in which the function calls will be processed in the system (it is quite possible that one call might overtake another). For cases where you need to specify a particular processing order, you can use queued RFC, which is an extension of transactional RFC. In qRFC, you place each function call in a logical queue. A function call cannot be executed until all of its predecessors in the queue have been processed. Queued RFC calls are processed asynchronously.
RFC is an SAP interface protocol. Based on CPI-C, it considerably simplifies the programming of communication processes between systems.
RFCs enable you to call and execute predefined functions in a remote system - or even in the same system.
RFCs manage the communication process, parameter transfer and error handling.

  • What BP Role is used for Loans Management in ECC6?

    Hi guys,
Can someone help with the BP role to use for Loans Management in ECC6? The system shows that the old role TR0100 is now obsolete, so in ECC6, what is the role name for FS-CML? Is it FS0000 or something else?
Any documentation on Loans Management in ECC6 will help.
    Regards
    Fisayo.

    Hi,
You have to use BP Role TR0100 only. Please check which BP Role Category is assigned to BP Rle TR0100 in spro. There is no change in ECC6 as well. The role name should be "Main Loan Partner"

  • What the difference and use between   of  TABLES and SY-REPID?

    Hi,
    Experts,
I have came accross 2 cases that i can't able understand
    EX1:
    TABLES: VBAP   -
    >( Here also Appplication Server(AS) creates Wrokarea of Structure VBAP but, by
data: v_vbeln like vbap-vbeln.    double clicking on variable v_vbeln AS taking me to DDIC VBAP table VBELN field then what the using declaring tables. )
    ( and )
DATA: VBAP TYPE VBAP -->( Here also Appplication Server(AS) creates Wrokarea of Structure VBAP data: v_vbeln like vbap-vbeln.    but, double clicking on variable v_vbeln AS taking me to user declared VBAP
i.e., above DATA declaration statement )
Then Which one is better in Functionality wise as well as Performance wise or when we have to go for TABLES and when we have to go for DATA declaration of DDIC objects.
    EX2:
    what the difference between
I know that SY_REPID is not a system variable. And also that
Data: vrepid type SY_REPID.--> Predefined data type in ABAP
    and
Data: vrepid like SY_REPID.-> Predefined Constatnt in ABAP( it is a constant it allowing with out VALUE
    attribute)
what difference between them and when we have to go Data: vrepid type SY_REPID and when we have to go Data: vrepid like SY_REPID.
    Thank U,
    Shabeer Ahmed.

    Hi Ahmed,
    TABLES:
      VBAP.   " DDIC
    DATA:
      v_vbeln like vbap-vbeln.
*Here you are using the DDIC VBAP
    DATA:
      VBAP TYPE VBAP.
    DATA:
      vbeln like vbap-vbeln.
*Here you are using the local data object as your data type so it will always
    * take you to user declared VBAP which is declared by you.
    DATA:
      T_VBAP TYPE VBAP.
    DATA:
      vbeln like vbap-vbeln.
    * here its using T_VBAP not DDIC VBAP
And for performance always the second option is better, use Data instead of tables, declare your own local structure.
    Data:
vrepid type SY_REPID.  thereis nop redefined data type in ABAP as SY_REPID
    * its SY-REPID which is a system variable.
    Data:
      vrepid type SY-REPID.

  • Role and use of MDM for SD consultants

is there any use of mdm to learn for sap sd consultants. Please suggest experts. how far it will be helful to me if I learn MDM , what will be my role etc

    Hi Ramesh,
    Appreciate your interest in MDM.
I am sure you will be using master data like Customers/Business partners in SD for various transactions like Sales Order mgmnt,Invoicing,Forecasting, etc. And, on several occasions you might have noticed flaws in business transactions due to incorrect/duplicate/incomplete master data maintained in your system.
Complex and expensive ERP/CRM/SCM systems deliver value to business only with clean and consistent data.
You can leverage MDM to -
a.Enforce Data integrity of master data.
b.Maintain single version of truth (deduplicated data).
c.Enforce Data governance inform of validations for business critical parameters.
d.Streamline Master data creation using workflows.
Being an SD consultant, by learning MDM, you can  provide better and stronger business solutions to your customers in terms of Data quality and governance. You can leverage your SD experience to closely study Data centric/data driven processes  and identify pain points in SD business processes. Make full use of Data management options that MDM provides while you deliver your solution.
    Hope my suggestion helps.

  • What is roles and responsibilites in supporting tell at the place of client

    Dear gurus,
pls explan detailed summary in the support to project , step by step if ask some body how to tell... with explanation... who will be involved in your role , is there attend to any quick meeting ... know solve ticket rather than what support member do it ?
    thanx .sai.

    Hi Sai
A Consultant who is working on a support project needs to look after daily issues raised by the user present across the globe if cutomer is present in more than one country. there is differnce between a user and a super user, a user whenever finds some issue while working on His/Her area in SAP tells super user , then Super user raise a ticket through a Tool to supporting partner. the tool is a medium by which Super user raises there issues and then same can be seen by support guys.each problem has different severity level depends on how critical is the problem. normally E1,E2,E3 and E4 are the severities in increaing order of the resolution time and decreaing order of severity. so E1 is most severe problem and needs to be resolved within a say half n hour because it is impacting 80-90% of the customer business. same way E, E3 and E4 have some time attached to them, so support guy has to solve the issue with the time assigned to each severity. if you miss it then it wll impact your  company based on the SLA(service level agreement).

  • Role and uses of cue sheets

    hi
i am about to (re) rip my entire cd collection onto my mac in aiff format and either aac or apple lossless and i have stumbled across cue sheets
i believe they hold info re gaps between songs as well as other stuff
am i right in thinking that these are invaluable if i want to create a cd in the future from my aiff files (particularly) when there are, say, no gaps between songs - such as in a live album?
as far as i know when playing an album, such as a live album, through itunes artificial gaps between tracks (that are not on the original cd) will not occur.
am i right in how i understand cue sheets?
do i need them for properly creating cds (ie if mine gets damaged or lost)?
does anything happen if i import them into itunes with the rest of the album?
what are the benefits, pitfalls, uses of these things
any knowledge and guidance would be great ly appreciated (before the re ripping process occurs)
    cheers
    peter t

am i right in my understanding tonight that this can be done through disk utility - creating image and burning cd?
Yes.  If you have Roxio on your machine, go ahead and do this with one CD, so you can see the results before you start the big project.!
can i do this without Roxio, ie disk utility, for the creating disk image and burning function, within imac (that i am yet to use)?
as i don't have roxio toast any other names /programs you can throw at me?
Other non-audio information can be embedded videos or documents that are on some CDs.
    "a-ha!!!" moment for me
Yes.  The standard Audio CD format does not have tags for the tracks.
    "huh?" moment here.
but when i rip cds aren't the tags from the cd? or are they from the database service the ripper accesses? and therefore why does wav have no tag (or major issues)?
    or have i missed something?
If I were in your shoes?  Personally, I no longer have interest in the original CD.  I just rip the tracks I want, and usually never touch the CD again, and definitely would not feel any urge to recreate it in the future.
i'm thinking i might accept and have to give in to this. the times are indeed a changing. and i probably will not be ever looking at recreating my cds. i actually cant see the need to either. i guess if the berlin wall can come down then maybe i can move on with this shift too.
As far as the format for storage, you could get into a big discussion on the relative merits of WAV, AIFF, ALAC, and FLAC, but from an audio perspective they are all equivalent.
i guess this is a discussion for another time but after some testing on a number of steely dan tracks in recent weeks (as part of this whole process of mine) i have myself thinking/being fooled that there is a difference to what i can hear between aiff, wav and alac when heard right next to each other. i'm not saying it's fact but....
finally (for now), can you shed any further light for the use or need for cue sheets for my purposes (apart from disk image -> cd production that i've almost let go of)?
as you can probably see above in my mindshift here this discussion has been very beneficial ed2345

  • List Box in ITS template and use of 'FIELD_SET'

    Hello EveryOne,
I am working in SRM5.0. Can some one guide me, If we can create a List box in custom ITS template. I am trying to use SELECT statement on HTML to create LIst Box. Is this right way to do that?
Does any one know better way to create a List BOx connected to custom field, that is filled in PAI. We do not have a search help added to this field. So I can not use F4 modules.
Also does any one know If use of macros 'FIELD_SET' is still allowed in the PBO/PAI  ?
Really appreciate any help in this regard.

    Dear srivallika,
first you have do build up an steploop on your dynpro for the it_ccode-bukrs
    AT PBO
    loop at it_ccode cursor g_ccode_cur into wa_cccode.
    my set loopc
    module ccode_loopc.
    endloop.
    Include PBO
    module ccode_loopc.
      g_ccode_loopc = sy-loopc.
    endmodule.
You only see via DIAG Dialog the displayed rows on the Dynpro.
So if you only have a steploop of 4 rows -- you only get 4 rows to the wgate.
    Better use the field-set makro.
    AT PBO
    module rfc_fieldset_ccode.
    INCLUDE PBO
    module rfc_fieldset_ccode.
data: ls_ccode like line of it_ccode.
    data: i type i.
    I'll use deeper structure
      perform rfc_fieldset_ccode.
but you also can define the code here
    loop at it_ccode into ls_ccode.
         add 1 to i.
         field-set 'INDX'       i i .
         field-set 'BUKRS'   i   ls_ccode-bukrs .
    endloop.
    endmodule.
Why to do this? The field-set makro (don't forget to include AVWRTCXM at your topinclude) will send the data from internal table via AGATE to the WGATE.
Here now you can define the dropdown list:
srivallika, i'll hope i could help you a little. If you have any questions, you won't bother me. ASK!
    With best regards
    Thorsten

    Hi.
I have not done this kind of requirement. What i said was just an option which came to my mind. Also not sure whether it will work for you. While submitting ,instead of exporting list to memory do submit to SAP-SPOOL. Then later read the spool content to internal table.
I am referring you two links for this.

  • Dynamicaly manage role permissions using JAAS

    Hi All,
I'm pretty much a newbie to JAAS and I need your help with the following requirement we have in our application.
We have a set of predefined permissions that we know in development time and we can assign to EJBs. We need to be able to assign those permissions to roles in the organization through API in the application.
We can't use simple role based security as the most granular actors in our application are roles, so we need to assign the permissions to the roles and not directly to the users (which are eventually assigned a role - managed in the customer user store).
As I mentioned before, the permissions are a closed set and are not configurable. The only configuration is who gets those permissions, and that ability should be given to the Admin of our application.
We considered using an hierarchy of roles, giving each logical role a set of permission-roles and use the standard role-based EJB security. For that we consider a custom login module to flatten the list of roles.
Let me know what you think and if there's any best practice for such scenario.
Just on thing. We want to stay in the JAAS realm as much as possible and avoid using some other security framework.
    Thanks,
    Eyal

JHeadstart uses roles and permissions only for maintenance reasons (for example, to quickly assign a number of permissions to a user). In runtime, differences between roles and permissions are discarded and both are treated the same. So, it is then comparable to JAAS, which only distinguishes between users and roles (called groups in OID).
The actual setup of the OID and JAAS is not part of JHeadstart. JHeadstart just uses the JAAS provider (when in JAAS mode) to check for the required roles (= permissions) for the current group.

  • Role and Privileges for OLAP metadata

    Hi,
Is there any document which specifies what all roles and privileges are required for creating any OLAP meta data ( Dimension, Cube, Measure and Catalog etc)?
I think these are impt roles:-
    SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE
    EXECUTE_CATALOG_ROLE
    DELETE_CATALOG_ROLE
    RECOVERY_CATALOG_OWNER
    OLAP_DBA
    OLAP_USER
Through system/manager I created one user TEST_BI_OLAP and granted CONNECT.
After login as TEST_BI_OLAP I am able to create dimension. Why it is possible whereas doc says user should have OLAP_USER or OLAP_DBA role associated with it.
OR only CONNECT is sufficient for creating OLAP metadata!!!!!
    regds
    P

The difference is in what the end user sees. Say you want to deploy an analytical workspace based off of a ROLAP dimensional cube. Here is how I've been approaching the problem:
    1. Create a new user with the OLAP_USER role to hold the AW (say "AW_USER")
    2. Now log in with a userid that has OLAP_DBA role, and create the AW utilizing the ROLAP cube - but direct the AW to be stored in the AW_USER schema. Note that because it is in a separate schema from the ROLAP cube, you will not need to append characters to the dimension or measure names.
    3. Have end users log in using the AW_USER name. Then they will see the AW information, but they will not have access to the ROLAP cube data.
    Hope this helps,
    Scott
