Sc.exe wants to run when I reboot.

When I start or restart my Windows 7 OS PC I get a box telling me that se.exe wants to make changes to my PC.
The box is the standard one you get when an application is installing.  But the strange thing is that it doesn't show that sc.exe is a Microsoft application.  the box shows unknown for source.  The pop-up is also random.  I don't get
it every time.
What would cause sc.exe to run on its own and is it something I should be worried about?

Yes.. Sc is not a common file that needs to run at start up.
I would suggest you to locate file http://www.pcandtablet.com/windows-7-tutorials/1343/how-to-disable-a-startup-entry-in-system-tray-task-bar-in-windows-7-a.html
(You may untick start up entry no harm)
By hearing a process name/filename nobody  tell whether its a virus or not.. if you suspect it should be a virus/malware what
you can do is to find the file location from above and submit this sample to  virus total.. https://www.virustotal.com/
By submitting to virus total, you can check whether it is detected by famous malware scanners..

  • Javaw.exe is still running when application is closed

The application works fine. when i close the application using "x" at the top of the window the javaw.exe is still running in task manager. javaw.exe is accumulating all memory when i run the again. The same problem occurs when i run the application through jar. Any help is appreciated

  • Firefox Setup 9.0.1.exe will not run when I select as "Run As" option

I downloaded the update no problem. After I click "Run" after the "Do you want to run this file?" window, I get a prompt asking which user I want to run the file as. The only account on my computer is my own, and I am recognized as Administrator. No matter what option I choose, once I click "OK," absolutely nothing happens. The update extraction does not proceed.

The code you posted here doesn't make sense, as Paul has already mentioned. As a guess (I haven't checked) it might have been something like the following:
    Application.Templates("F:\Building Blocks\SRS Header.dotx"). _
    BuildingBlockEntries("SRS
    Header").Insert Where:=Selection.Range, _
            RichText:=True
If so, what you also need is a line before that saying
    Application.Templates.LoadBuildingBlocks

  • I want to run my .exe file in same time when Labview started to run

    Somebody know, how do it?

Right, so run a batch file instead of LabVIEW.
Or if you must run "LabVIEW.exe" rename "LabVIEW.exe" to "LabVIEW Backup.exe" then make an EXE that just runs "LabVIEW Backup.exe" then your program and name it LabVIEW.exe.

  • Wine - Wineboot.exe Runs When Launching Apps

Anyone else experiencing 'wineboot.exe' starting and continuing to run whenever any Wine application is launched? I've never seen this behavior before (though it could have been going on for a little while without my noticing).
I always thought 'wineboot.exe' was used to simulate Windows reboots, but I'm unclear now what it does or is doing. I have since read a little about it possibly having some functionality related to launching applications in the Startup folder, but I have no startup apps or services, and it seems if it were doing that, it would launch, perform its functions then terminate.
The process can be killed without any ill effects on currently running Wine applications as far as I can tell.
Is this a Wine bug, a package bug, or intended behavior? If intended, can it be turned off natively (without having to run a 'kill' script)?
    Thanks.
    PS
Is it possible that this process was split off from wineserver in a recent Wine update? The only reason I ask is that 'wineserver' seems to use much less RAM than I remember it using. Probably wrong about that, though.

I haven't spent a lot of time on this subject as I can't find much about it anyway, and I really didn't want to sign up with Google groups to seek answers, but for now it seems the issue is moot in the near-term anyway:
    http://groups.google.com/group/comp.emu … f8b03fc168
[The run and runonce functionality] is causing a lot of problems, and so it has been disabled in the current git, and should be disabled in the next release of Wine. You can revert to the previous version of Wine while waiting for 0.9.54, or edit your registry and delete the Run and RunOnce keys.
I wasn't really having issues with 'wineboot.exe' other than it wastes resources, but it looks like its gone for now. Hopefully, if and when they get other issues ironed out and try to re-implement it, it will run, do its job and exit.

  • Warning when trying to launch application over mapped drive "We can't verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to run this file?"

We have 2 load balanced application servers that map drives with programs on them for users from a central server that are giving the warning "We can't verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to run this file?". Basically how it works
is a user logs in to one or the other application servers (for example, 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2) and runs a log on script that maps an L:\ drive to the users folder on the central storage server (10.0.0.100). When the user goes to launch the .exe from the L:\
    drive it presents that warning.
I've looked around and have seen recommendations that you need to add the site to the local intranet zone for IE, but when I try to add L:\ it tells me that I have entered an invalid sequence. It appears that you can only put network shares in that location,
which is not how we're mapping the drive.
Has anyone run in to this before and knows how to resolve it?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
A mapped drive letter is not supported so please try to input \\server or \\server\folder to see if it will help.

  • In application builder the top level vi is always set to "run when opened"; how do I turn this off so I don't have to change it each and every time I build a .exe??

I build a lot of executables using Application Builder under LabVIEW and in every one I build, I don't want the top level vi to take off and run when I open the executable. Currently, I edit each .exe I build within Application Builder and change the option of "run when opened" from Yes to No for the top level vi. All the other subvi's are already set to No. It would seem as though there should be some way to "turn this off" if you will so the top level vi is not always set to "run when opened" by default within Application Builder. Is there such a solution that anyone knows of?? Any help would be apprec
    iated... thanks...

Indeed the Application builder forces "run when opened" to true for top levels VIs. If you don't want your VI to make any real work when the application starts, you should simply put a do-nothing loop in the beginning of the VI that will loop until the user presses a boolean. It will be more intuitive for users to press a Run button on the FP than clicking on the white Run arrow in the bar.

  • Unable to reconnect to target (FP-2000) when exe vi is running

Im'not able to reconnect to target (FP2000) when a exe vi is running.
*I'm using LV 7.1 with windows XP
When I connect to the target a window pop up and ask for the vi. I always have the error message that the vi is not similar.
I tested with a basic vi (a switch and a led) and I have the same problem.
Right now I have to stop the exe vi if i want to reconnect to the FP-2000.

    Hi geeaile,
This happens because the exe retrieved from your RT target and vi on your host pc don't match, as the app builder optimises the exe. To get around the 'vi's don't match problem', you need to create a folder in your host computer "c:\ni-rt\startup" and place a copy of the built executable located in your RT system (c:\ni-rt\startup folder) in the same directory on your host pc (you can do this via ftp).
Hope this helps.Message Edited by DavidT on 05-03-2005 11:35 AM

I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen.

Any ideas on what i can do to fix it?
Urgent help please as I have to hand in the project today!
    Thanks soo much in advance,
    Wesley

    Hello Wesley,
you will need the jdbc driver for your database.
You will find it on http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/j/3.1.html
Download it and put it in your glassfish classpath, e. g. [glassfish-root]/domains/domain1/lib/ext and restart the server.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

i have a slow macbook, i ran live disk utilities (from hard drive), turned out I needed to repair disk from a installation disk. Did that, I got the volume (Hard drive) repaired from the installation disk disk. To this point, great!
When I reboot from hdd, then run disk utility, I get the same error message i did b4 repair. I went thru two rounds of this.....
    Can anyone help? thanks

Sorry guys, I don't see how to reply to you so I use reply to "me" basically.
So the error I get is "volume header needs minor repair" and then you need to perform repair from the installation disk message.
I did repair not verify from the disk twice. Every time ending in the "the volume had ha been successfully repaired". Then I reboot from the internal disk. Run disk utilities from it, do verify and get the same error message I got before repair. I hope this can shed some light fr you guys. Sorry I didn't include details in the original
    MEssage.
