Hi.
Can any one tell me the name of the SCA file which includes the source code for leave request?
I downloaded SAP_ESS release 600 SP13, however i was not able to find the source code related to leave request applications.

Hello,
I would like to integrate https://github.com/blueimp/jQuery-File-Upload to my APEX 4.2 application inside XE11g. I would like to use this kind of jQuery component, multiple file upload, use Drag & Drop, image resize, size limit, filter extensions etc...
This jQuery component and also others javascript uploaders sends data files to some defined URL. Developer need to build some servlet, php script or something on server side that will read files from HTTP request and stores it somewhere.
Do you know how to do it in APEX? How can I read data from HTTP POST request in PL/SQL? Now I can only call my On-Demand application process from javascript, but I am not able to read any data from HTTP POST in it.
Can I do it in APEX, or using MOD_PLSQL?
I would like to implement this:
1) some javascript uploader will call some URL of my application and sends HTTP POST with data files
2) I will read data files from HTTP POST and store them into database
3) I will create some HTTP response for javascript uploader

I know about that existing plugin " Item Plugin - Multiple File Upload"
But I doesn't work in IE and has only basic features. Licence for commercial use is also needed. I would like to use some existing jQuery plugin. There are many of these plugins with nice features. And only one problem is that I need to create some server side process/servlet/script.. that can recieve HTTP request, get files from it and stores them into DB.

FMLA relevant absence Message in ESS Leave Request

Hi Experts,
I am on ERP2004, EP6.0SP20.
I have configured the ESS Leave Request and activated the workflow. When an employee submits a leave request, he sees a message "the requested absence type is an FMLA relevant absence". However, the requested absence type is not a FMLA relevant absence.
I would like to stop this message coming on to portal. I am not sure whether it is related to Time Management configuration on absence quotas etc. Has any body seen this message?

Messages can be hided in Leave Request through configuration on R/3 side. NWDI customization is not necessary.

ESS - Leave request - Absence type

Hi SDN.
We want to implement ESS(50.4) iView "Leave request".
How do we control which entries there is in the dropdownbox "Absence type"?
I can't find any documentation regarding this.

Error Not enough quota 30 for attendance/absence in ESS Leave Request

Good Morning
I am trying to create a "Leave Request" using ESS with "Floating Days". It has a cuota manual. When trying to create the leave request in ECC all works fine, but when trying to create the same leave request in ESS the following error occurs:
Not enough quota 30 for attendance/absence 0261 on 05.03.2008 for personnel no. 20001140

Hi,
I would suggest the following :
Step1: Check your IT 2006/IT 2007 for your Absence and Attendance Quotas.
Step 2: You can also verify the same information using the PT50 transaction ( quota Overview)
Step 3: By doing the above you ensure that the person has the required quotas.
Step4: logon to ESS and do the request for leave.if it does not let you, then there is some problem in the config in the ESS. I cannot tell you this from top of my head. We need to look into the portal to see what exactly the problem.

ESS Leave request workflow : ws12300111 : Customizing

Dear experts,
I need to customoze ESS leave request workflow WS12300111.
Can you please tell me do I need to Copy this to a NEW workflow generating a new WF no or can I simply generate a new version for this only ? What is ideal ?
1. Can anyone tell me step by step process(config) in ESS leave application workflow?.(SWFVISU????)
2. Is workflow WS12300111, the only workflow that I need to look for leave application ?.
3. If it is WS12300111 I dont see any start event for this workflow. So how is it getting triggered?
4. For the approval task TS12300097, agent determination is done by expression &Agent_0001.Agents&. How does it interact with Org.Structure.
5. In my scenario, approver should be supervisor of the employee applying for leave. If it is pending with this approver for 5 days it should go to the next up level manager.
For identifying first level approver is &Agent_0001.Agents& enough.? For identifying 2nd level approval do I need to write a rule ?

ESS Scenario
Workflow Process 20000081 u2013 Create Leave Request with HTML
Steps for triggering the workflow:
1) The employee logs with his user name in the ESS web page.
2) The employee creates a leave request with an optional note and sends it to the appropriate approver (usually his supervisor). The approveru2019s name is automatically displayed in the leave request form and the employee can replace him with another if such a change is needed.
3) The approver (us approver) logs on to sap system or to ESS
web pages and reads his mails in the SAP Business Workplace. The employeeu2019s leave request form appears in the workflow inbox with approve and reject options.
A) If the us approver approves the leave request, he pushes the
button approve from his mailbox (processing status A with
approve). A screen is appeared with a box (Table entry: 0001)
and the approver must push the button continue in order that
the workflow is continued. Then the form is sent to the
employeeu2019s mailbox in Sap. When the employee opens his mails, he receives a note in his inbox that u201Cthe absence from u2026. To u2026..has been approved byu2026.u201D.After that the absence is
automatically created in the sap system. Then the approver gets a mail (notification of completion & Return u2026u2026).
B) When the approver cancels a leave request, he pushes the
button reject and the processing status changes to u201CRu201D.

(the ! at the end is essential).
7. ESS 4.70 Unicode System ITS 6.10 patch level 29 and above (With IE and Netscape). ITS 6.20, patch level 6 and above (With IE only).
The ESS development tested these ITS versions.
8. For Release 4.6C, ESS has the same browser requirements as the HTML (see also note 178788) and the mySAP Workplace 2.11 (if ESS is accessed through the mySAP Workplace 2.11).

Options for leave request work items in ECC6

We are upgrading our backend system from R/3 4.7 to ECC6. I am not very impressed with the leave request authorisation process and wondered if there are any other options open to us.
In 4.7, leave requests were workflowed to the requester's manager with a subject like this:
Process leave request from <fromdate> to <todate> submitted by <person>
When the manager selected it, they only see that request.
In ECC6 (using task 12300111 and the Webdynpro 'Leave Request: Approval') the subject in the inbox is;
<person>'s Leave Request
When the manager opens the item they see all leave request from all staff, despite this, they can only process one item at a time. Once completed, they are given an option to Approve Another Absence - but the link does not work. I can remove that link using ctrl-right-click, but was wondering;
1 Has anyone got the "Approve Another Absence" link working when the iView is launched from the UWL?
2 Has anyone managed to put the details of the request into the subject?
3 Has anyone managed to setup bulk authorisation of multiple requests in one step?
4 Has anyone managed to restrict the workitem to only display a single request?

Check the "Leave Request: Apporval" iView's ID if you try this - I don't know if ours is in the 'standard' place within the PCD.

Team Calender in Leave Request Application

I am trying to configure the leave request application. I see a link in the "Show team calender" in the application. I configured according the documentation in spro>personal Management>Employee Self Serivce>service specific settings>working time>leave request.

5. Select the employees whose absences you want to display in the team calendar. You first have to enter one of two grouping characteristics in the View/Grp field:
If you use the Manager Self-Service (MSS) or Employee Self- Service (ESS) components at your enterprise, you will probably use the view groups. They are based on employees organizational assignments.
If you use the Time Managers Workplace (TMW), you probably use grouping IDs.
You now have to select the employees whom you want to display in the team calendar. To do so, enter the required view group or grouping ID in the relevant field.
However I do not know where to create a "GROUPING ID". I have added the view group. but the field "GROUPING ID" is blank in the customization. May be this is required to display employees in team calender.
Could you help me how to get employees in Team Calender.

Error while importing .SCA files in track

Hi Folks,
I tried importing following .SCA files into a nwdi track but it Finished with Errors.

By logs i got information that
'File is not added to build request, because associated SC is marked with the 'non nwdi deployment flag'

Error while adding .sca files in DI Track

Hi,
I have 4 different tracks in DI for:
1. ESS
2. MSS
3. A
4. B
The software component in A and B is same.
Now i have to add CAF related SCA files in Track A.
I add those as dependencies. After adding, i also synchronize the dependencies.
When i click on save, it doesnt display popup for save. Instead, a popup is displayed regarding "Where-Used Check" stating" Following runtime systems already used elsewhere in CMS domain" and below this displays the list of the remaining 3 tracks. It has 2 buttons: continue and cancel. If i continue on cancel, it gives the error:
Unexpected error; inform your system administrator: User not authorized. (Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://<hostname>:50100/CBSWebService/CBSHttpSOAP?style=rpc")
I am not able to figure out the reason for this.

ECC 6.0 leave request attendence overview

Please can someone help me how to configure the field "status" in my ESS leave request attendence overview in ECC6.0?
I'm using a leave request scenario without approval and the status of my posted absences in infotype 2001 show the status "informed". From a proces point this status makes no sense.

Intreperter Failed ERROR while cancelling leave request in ESS

Hi all,
We are facing this issue. When a person goes to ESS and tries to delete a wrongly raised leave request by pressing on trash button. We get a confirmation screen. In that after pressing on " Delete leave request" we get the following error
INTERPRETER FAILED
THE INTERNET TRANSACTION SERVER FAILED TO GENERATE THE RESPONSE FOR CURRENT REQUEST.
PLEASE CONTACT THE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR.
INTERNAL ERROR CODE: 0X2101
NOTE : This issue is only with certain employees.
Can anybody guide what should be done so as to resolve the above said issue.

Hi,
This means 'no such input', I assume the Business HTML interpreter is
searching for a template that does not exist...
If you are using the internal ITS you will find information in the related trace
file, for the stand alone ITS in the agateX_sapjulep.trc.
Alternatively you want to set ~generatedynpro temporarily in order to see
which screen should be processed.

You don't have the absence type created on either one of the two following tables.
T554S - This one is for the Absence creation on the backend in IT2001.
T554S_Web - This one is to show on the frontend framework of the Leave Request.

500 internal error while approving leave request

Hi All,
One of my user when trying to approve leave request, he is getting the following error. it was working previously but suddenly thsi error has come
500 internal server error
Application error occurred during request processing
Details: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.core.Dispatcher exception: The requested deployable object 'sap.com/ess~lea' and application 'leaverequestapprove' are not deployed
Can anyone advise on this error please!!!

Dear Swarnaprakash,
Hope you are doing good.
Do make sure that all ESS related applications/services are running.
Please try to restart the applications this way:
1. start the telnet admin tool
telnet <hostname> 5<instnum>08
2. logon using the J2EE Admnistrator user
3. lsc (to list the available servernodes)
4. jump <servernode> (usually jump 0)
5. add deploy
6. start_app -all
Please have a look at the below for more information:
