Scalable/full-width slideshows in Muse

I am interested in creating a full-width slideshow in Muse, much like what is being employed on this website http://lafayetteny.com/
Previous threads from last year say it isn't possible - has this changed since?

Hello,
Check these related threads that explain how to create full width slideshows:

  • Full-width slideshow glitching on mobile

I'm having some issues integrating full-width slideshows into my website.  They  look amazing on a desktop, but not so much on a phone.  See it here: birdwalkpress.com
When viewing the slideshow on a phone, there are a couple of intermittent issues.
         1. When you zoom in, the slideshow jumps to the left.  It doesn't reset when you zoom out either- it's (usually) stuck off the left edge of the screen.
         2.  You often can't scroll the page if you grab the slideshow, only if you grab other elements on the page.
I'm assuming this is a bug.  Can anyone from adobe shed some light on this?

    Hi
I see the issue you have reported, could you please send your muse file as an attachment to us so that we may further look into the issue.
Please send your muse file to : [email protected] with subject line attention:  Anshul

  • Full-Width slideshow appears fine in editing stage but browser preview shifts the slideshow to the left?

My problem is exactly as described from this unanswered question a couple weeks ago: slideshow within composition widget - 100%width image causes bug
I have a full width slideshow that is set to fill the browser but when previewed the page shifts the slideshow to the left. Upon a tiny 1px browser resize the slideshow will then snap back to full size and then work as intended. I have had this issue before and have no idea how to remove this invisible padding that must be occurring...

So here is a shot of what the gap looks like. I am not quite sure what you mean by setting the page resolution with 100%. I clicked the "full-width" button.. I should also mention that I have scroll effects on in the slideshow. Though no anchor points on the page means no way for the page to shift...

  • "Full Width" Slideshow with overflow hidden?

    Hello,
I am using the slideshow widget with a huge width  at the top of my page, underneath follows the content
with 842px width. Side width and column width is also set to 842px.
The Site aligns horizontally nicely. I want the slideshow to be cut off left and right by the browser width.
    100% browser width,  hidden overflow.
On the left side, the slideshow is "cut off" nicely by the browser, no scrolling to the left
    is possible.
On the right side, one can scroll all the way over to the right corner of the "oversized" slideshow.
Is it possible to set the slideshow to 100% of the browser width and then hide the overflow-x? I did not even find
a way to do that manually, browsing though the html export's code. The most important <div> is generated in the depth of the widget's .js.
Or is there any other way to prevent the user from scrolling to the right? (hiding the bar is not enough nowadays, being trackpads all over)
Can I send the muse file to you?
Thank you very much in advance!!
    Mike

FYI, if you want to keep the vertical scrolling capabilities, you should actually add:
    overflow-y: scroll;
    overflow-x: hidden;
    instead of just overflow: hidden;
BUT thank you so much for finally saying this can be done in the header section of Page properties.  I've been trying to create a "full width" effect for ages!!

  • Edge animation to show full width once in muse

I created a responsive edge animation and was under the assumption once imported into muse it would behave the same which is no the case, how can I acomplish edge files to extend 100% width?  is this something possible?

    Hi
Sorry to say but there's not much going on between the two camps, Muse and Edge A that is.  Like you, I subscribe to Muse but since I discovered EA...well...
Thing is, dragging the aimated button to the trigger container just overlays it which effectively hides it.  Hence, it will simply not work as a trigger to launch lightbox.  I myself had the same idea....but its more involved that this.  As always.
A possible solution might be to design your lightbox  and simply use the built in trigger for now -  go ahead and publish the site like this.  View your site in a browser of your choice then click on the trigger which will reveal the URL that launches the Lightbox feature.  Copy this in the browser.  Cheeky eh?
Then go back to your button in Edge A (select it) and add an on click event handler (look for {} to the left of the element and select click event).  Using the snippets on the right-hand plane choose add URL and paste the link from the clipboard between the " " so when the button is clicked it references the lightbox.  Go back to Muse and position your edge button again and publish again.  Its very long winded I know.  Get it? Will it work? dunno.  Have I tried it? no.  But the logic is faultless, because the URL trigger on your button  should point to the lightbox...thats the theory anyway.
Hope this is of some help and hope it works...might as well give it a try eh?...this is how I discovered Edge A trying to animate buttons etc.  In the end I decided to build my entire site using it.
    regards

  • Full Browser width slideshow ... can Muse do it (naitively)?

    Hi All,
I'd like to place a full browser width slideshow into Muse.
Is there a simple clean way to do this?
I know there is a 'work around'  method (discussed at http://forums.adobe.com/message/5359472#5359472) , but I'd like to avoid it.
    Many Thanks!
    Gary

Muse supports full screen slideshow since the release of Muse 7. Take a look at the video here - http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/adobe-muse-november-2013-new-fullscreen-slides how/.

  • Full legend in image slideshow full width

    Hi Everyone,
I can't get a legend full width with a background color in the image full width ( Slideshow )   , could you help me please ?
    Thanks

    @iamDK,
Thanks for the response. I am familiar with Pinning and Slideshow Widgets and have been using Muse since it's inception, what I don't understand after watching one of the videos in which Terry White mentions FullScreen or Browser Width using the Slideshow widget and as Jason Bibby at the top also mentions, I have not had any success using any of the SS Widgets again to acheive this effect. Pinning the SS Widget to the top of the Browser does just that and does not stretch images within it to fill the Browser Width even if you get inside the widget to expand an image so that it snaps to the edge of the Browser still does not do it regardless of weather its pinned or not.
I've had to jump into DW to get this done - in combination to using Fluid Grid, which I had rather not but so far so good, at least its responsive and not having to create twice in the case of Muse. I love Muse for its simplicity, being able to whip up pretty much any design in no time is sweet, but having a SS that stretches Browser width is a common trend and I'd like to see it integrated into Muse and if it can be done now as the video shows then how?
If you know how to do this in Muse could you please show us how?
    Kind regards,
    Kelvin

  • Full Width Composition

I know you can do a full width slideshow now, but that is not what I'm looking for.
I want the ability to have a button that makes a hidden full width object appear.  Currently I don't know of a way to accomplish this with any of the default widgets in muse.
    Anyone know of a workaround?
    Thanks.

Can I manually set Targets and Triggers?
Otherwise I can't make the Target Element 100% Full Width - It defaults to the max page page area, not 100% full screen width.
I think I know how to use compositions, but I just can't figure out how to set the Target to 100% page width once the trigger has been activated.

  • 100% width slideshow issue

i've created a full-width slideshow inside of a composition that is also 100% of the page width.  when the browser window is re-sized, the page develops a wide margin next to the images.
if you go to http://blipdapp.com/ and click on the "about" link at the bottom, then resize the browser window and select one of the other tabs (connect, create or share), you'll see the problem.
the only way to correct the issue seems to be refreshing the browser.  does anyone know of a way to fix this?

Hi, please see the below thread link for a workaround.
Re: slideshow within composition widget - 100%width image causes bug
Also, please vote on the idea to add 100% width support to the composition widget so that the Adobe Muse team will hopefully fix this soon.

  • BROWSER WIDTH SLIDESHOW on ADOBETV OR WHAT???

So there seems to be much discrepancy over whether or not it's possible to create a full-size slideshow within MUSE. I recently watched Terry White's video on Parallax Scrolling and in the video was yet again another example of a full-screen slideshow:
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/creative-cloud-for-design/discover-new-parallax-scrolling-with-a dobe-muse-cc/
(i'm sure we've all seen many examples)
Unfortunately.. I still can't get it to work.. So please.. somebody, please settle this for me.. Can I create a browser width slide show and if so, how on earth do I do it?

Actually, there is no full screen slideshow in Terry's video. What is in Terry's video are a number of 100% browser width rectangles that contain background images that are set to "Scale to Fill". These are arranged in panels vertically as you scroll down on his one page site. Because they are within 100% browser width rectangles and set to "Scale to Fill" they will resize when the browser window is resized in width.
That said, support for full browser window slideshows is a common request. While it is not among the new features in the June release, it is on our "To Do" list.
Until there is native support in Muse, there are at least a couple approaches I've encountered for achieving, or simulating, a full browser window slideshow in Muse.
    1) Create a slideshow, send it to the back and pin it to the top center of the browser window.
The hero images in the slideshow will be fixed size, so this is a simulation and a visitor on a Cinema Display will be able to resize the browser window wider than you'll likely want to set the width of the hero images, but this approach can be used effectively for some designs and is easily achieved fully within Muse.
    2) Leverage some degree of coding and manual uploading of files, along with a JavaScript library such as backstretch.
This thread <http://forums.adobe.com/message/5325056#5325056> contains a customer discussion of how to achieve a full browser window slideshow using backstretch.

  • Pin images in Full Screen Slideshow???

I am using a full screen slideshow in Muse and it appears that all the images are proportionately resized with fill frame and pinned in the center. This means that if some of my images of people don't have the same general layout, some photos have heads cut off, etc. Is there any way to pin these images to the top or bottom so I can have some sort of uniformity? As it is, about have of the images work perfect, while the others look odd because the subject has part of his head obscured by the menu. I know this can be done with a simple fill, but in the slideshow option, you don't have that choice. I have done this with flat out parallax coding, but no idea how to accomplish it in Muse.
    Thanks for the quick responses!

    Hi
With images in Full screen slideshow we cannot define different pattern for separate images, all images will be used as fullscreen and will resize with browser.
In your case where few images are not same and includes cut off parts , you will need to modify the images outside Muse using any image editor and then use in slideshow.
Or try to modify the layout of the page with page elements if they overlapp any specific page section.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Centering a full width image in Adobe Muse

Can anyone help.  I am trying to centre a full width image in adobe muse but I am getting nowhere!  I am trying to keep the center of the image in the middle of the browser no matter what the browser width.  I am using the image as a fill in a full width box and have tried centering it using the fill options (top centre) and using the align (central ) tool for the box but neither seem to work.  My page can be viewed at
    www.helioswebdesign.co.uk
Any help would be much appreciated
    Yours

To add images press CTRL+D and then select the image and place it where you want.
To hyperlink it go to the top menu and there should be Hyperlink folowed by a box. Enter your URL to link in there.
You can also use the slideshow widget should you want to make a slideshow.

  • Muse mobile site doesn't display full width

The mobile version of my site doesn't display full width. It doesn't scale to fit the mobile screen as the set up width in Muse.
I found a tip talking about add "viewport" code to muse site. When I insert the code to html window, it give me a box said "unable to generate a thumbnail"
If add the view port code is the solution, how do I add this code to the <head> tag on muse?
If not, what's the solution for this situation?

One  problem where this occurs is that there could be some object (s) outside the layout page size.

  • Full Width 'Basic' Slideshow

I am trying to make the slideshow on my page full width, which will expand with the window size.  I have dragged to the edges of the screen but it doesn't go to edge of the screen when previewing in a browser.
    Could someone please help?!
    Thanks,
    Jon

100% width is a CSS BASIC. I don't get it. Designers are using 100% in their designs...it's very popular. How did this one roll off the table? 100% slide shows are years old. Nothing new...I don't get the "miss" on this but it would be nice to have a Creative Cloud membership that has complete products rather than a bunch of them that are constantly being sourced for customer feedback. No one wants a produict in eternal preview and it used to be that "previews" or betas were a user's option.
I think Adobe needs to remove "preview" products from CC - no one wants to be met with the frustratin of a product that does not have all the considerations...esoecially when they are paying $50 a month. it's like paying for pain.
In the case of not having 100% width for slideshows, it's kinda like building a house with doors.

  • Full Width Composition Slideshow

I know you can have a slideshow that is full width but I want a slideshow with Targets, not thumbnails, which I normally use a Composition.  But when I select the Composition the Full Width button is not available.  Is this a future feature?  Is there a work around?

Is there a work around for creating a full width composition.  I'd like to use it as a slide show with individual click throughs.
I've done it by oversizing the images, but its not great.....Home Technology Design & Consultancy Services, Living Home Tech, design and install home automation solutions including …
If only the full width button worked with compositions...
Do you know if this is on the list to be looked at?
    Thanks.
