Scale document during Export

Hi All!
Ever since Apple pulled the plug on print to PDF in Snow Leopard, we've been forced to export to PDF. Which is sort of fine. Except - say I want to output my document at 95%, how do I do that with Export? Rescale document in Acrobat, you say? Even if I knew how to do that, it's stil a major pain.
Anyone have any suggestions? Can someone guide me in rescaling a doc in Acrobat?

Export does not support scaling. You can:
Print to PostScript file with scaling and Distill PDF.
Place the INDD file into a new document, scale, then export PDF.
Place the 100% PDF into a new document, scale, then export PDF.

Scale bug during export in CS3!!!

I have a slideshow which all of the pics are scaled with the option "scale and crop edges". When I preview it in encore it looks perfect. The problem occurs when I export/builds the dvd, flash or whatever. When I playback the slideshow it looks like some of the pictures jumps between the two scaling options "scale and crop edges" and "scale and apply matte". In one frame the picture fills the entire screen and in the next frame it has 1/4 of black matte on each side. The jumps in scaling happens totally random, or at least I can`t find a pattern.

You can't "fix" overscan. Your audience has TV sets that are overscanned to some degree.
But your audience also has computer monitors that (most likely) don't overscan at all.
You have to create content that takes overscan into account if your target audience will be viewing that content on a TV set.
You can safely ignore overscan if your finished DVD will be shown *exclusively* on a computer monitor.
If we eliminate overscan as a consideration at all, then I have to ask: does the scaling change occur before, during or after a transition between static slides? How about changes between slides with motion effects applied?

How to keep embedded PDF's in an MS Word 2010 document during export to PDF with PDFmaker

I am preparing in MS Word 2010 a Software Manual with embedded PDF's
When I double click in MS Word on the inserted PDF, Acrobat opens the embedded PDF (these are A0 CAD Drawings).
I want this functionality also after I have converted the MS Word file to a PDF with the PDFMaker add-in (Acrobat X Pro)
Is this possible?

No. PDF files cannot be embedded within the pages of other PDF files.
What you could do is attach the other files after the PDF has been created, then manually link to those attachments in Acrobat.

Embed jpg in a pdf without re-compressing it during export or save?

I need to create a pdf-portfolio. Therefore I want the images included to look their best. I thought it a small matter to individually compress the images in photoshop for optimal appearance and size, and then to include them in a document for pdf-export. The idea is that you open up this pdf and see the images exactly as I saw them in the photoshop jpg previerw. So far I tried Illustrator and InDesign. Unfortunately both of these seem unable to just include the original jpg during pdf-export. They are completely set on recompressing the images. Either that or they will try to do away with the compression completely. You can choose the compression alternative "none", but then you will end up with a huge pdf-file, a couple of hundred megabytes in my case. If you chose any other compression alternative, the jpg will be degraded further during the second pass of compression that will take place during export. The images will look miserable.
So my question: Is there any way to get around this weird limitation in Illustrator or Indesign? And if not, what software should I be using to design a portfolio and include individually compressed jpg's and jpg2000?

No, png will typically be much bigger in filesize, not an option if data size is a factor.
BUT, I found a solution: I downloaded & installed Acrobat XI Pro. In Acrobat I open the pdf that was saved from Illustrator. Then it's just a matter of replacing all images manually with your custom saved jpg's. Comparing pdf's: Saved from Illustrator: 8.3 Mb and ****** looking general impression, lots of banding and artefacts. Modified in Acrobat and resaved with custom saved jpg's: 5.5 Mb and much nicer looking images, with few apparent compression artefacts, no banding.

How do I stop video freezing during export?

Video freezes during export to DV camera from imovie HD. Tried updating OS to combined version for 10.3.9. Installed latest updater for imovie 5 with no difference. Can anyone suggest any other solutions?

I found a solution to the freezing problem in one of the answers to another problem here on the discussion forum.
It solved my problem and it might be helpful to you.
Convert your iMovie video into a QT film with the same quality (I have a dutch version of iMovie HD, so I don't know the exact menu-wording. Something like >Slect>share).
Import this QT film into a NEW iMovie project.
Then export to your camcorder.
It took my Mac almost 11/2 hour to convert the video to QT (55minutes movie).
But in the end, it worked.
I'm no expert, but I think it has to do with the mutilations caused by adding titles, cutting, audio additions etc. which are imparted on the document.
The original video that frooze was 17.1 GB. The successful copy only 13.6GB.

F110 : program name of posting cleared document during F110

Dear all,
I need to figure out the "PAYMENT DOCUMENT SPLITTING" issue after F110 via debugging.
I believe the main program for F110 is SAPF110V and SAPF110S is the program handle the posting. However, after I put the break point in SUBMIT SAPF110S AND RETURN in SAPF110V, then do step by step debug. Debugging doesn't go to SAPF110S. I am not sure what's wrong.
Can anyone tell me the program name that post cleared document during F110 processing?

I guess you have missed populating field STYPE in each of the records which identifies the actual structure.
Below is how you have to pass for them:

During export from Discover to Excel, Time Format changes to Number Format

I have a seconds column which is of number datatype. But in my report, I am converting the number in *0HH:MI:SS* format. For example, I have *4952534 seconds*. So my report is showing *1375:42:14* which is a Time Format. It looks good when I view the data in Discoverer Viewer or Plus. But when I try to export the data to Excel, the time format gets converted to *4952534 seconds*, which is creating problems. So can you suggest on how can I preserve the formatting during export to excel from discoverer.

Hi,
Excel will not implement the 0HH:MI:SS data format, it just gets the field as a number. You will have to format the field into text using the calculation from my previous post.

Accounting document for Export Excise invoice

Dear All,
We have two scenario's one is Domestic Sales & Export Sale.
In domestic sales as per the normal flow of document we create excise invoice after billing document and accounting documents are also generated and updated in the billing document accounting (VF02). Accounting document for excise invoice has been generated.
However in export sales we create excise invoice with the reference of billing document but no accounting document has been generated for excise invoice.
Can u please tell me where i have to make changes so my accounting document for export excise invoice will generate?

There are 4 export scenario :
1) Deemed export 2) Export under Bond 3) Export under claim for rebate [No bond] 4) Export under Letter of Undertaking.
3) In export under no bond process is :- we pay the excise on the goods for exports and create the ARE-1 doc and send to port where the customers officials note the actual quantity of goods on the ARE-1 doc and stamped it. Then these stamped ARE-1 will be send to the excise range of the despatch plant(for exports) where we claim the rebate.
Now if you are not able to generate the accounting doc for such a scenario some of the consultants may suggest u to use the user exit (J_1I7_USEREXIT_DUTY_IN_EXPORT) and pass the the value X to the parameter SUPPRESS_CALCULATION this intern will help u to generate the Accounting doc also. but real problem lies somewhere else.
Actual Solution: Maintain J1ID (Customer excise details)
for export customer maintained the excise indicator to 3 {Nil Duty} insted of 1 {100% tax}.
Problem will be solved

IS-U INV: Creation of FI-CA documents during invoicing

Hi,
I need to create a couple of FI-CA documents during invoicing process. I found the Event R402, is there possible to create more then one FI-CA document?

The R402 event only allows for one document. You can populate the one document with multiple lines representing various scenarios if necessary. If multiple docs are required, then you need to explore additional events - and likely need to create logic for reversal scenarios. Implementing all of the posting in R402 enables standard reversal integration.

Addition of G/L items in Accounting Document during creationof Material Doc

Hi All
I am looking for User exit or BADI that allows me to add additional G/L line items (offsets) in Accounting Document during creation of Material Document. I wish to do this when I save Material document in MIGO, MB01 or MIRO.
Has anyone done this before? Is there any user exit, badi or function module to do this. Please share insight on this situation.

Stitch lines created in a PDF/X-1a due to transparency flattening during export from InDesign

Has there been any sure fire methods to avoid the digital stitch lines created in a PDF/X-1a due to transparency flattening during export from InDesign? If I attempt to edit the PDF using the Acrobat Edit Text and Graphics tool the PDF is actually carved into sectors and images are not selectable as a whole. Also contrary to what I have read those white lines do indeed image from time to time. I could export as PDF/X4 to preserve the transparency but on occasion it would be advantageous to flatten it before supplying to the printer. Currently using CC and have done the usual things in an attempt to avoid the lines such as all text above transparent objects on a separate layer and 'Clip-Complex-Region' on export.

If the default High Res flattener preset is stitching make a custom preset that's all rasters and use it in the advanced tab of the PDF/X-1a preset

Building linkable navigation within an indesign document when exporting to pdf

I'm working in InDesign CS3 and wondering if there is a way to create a linkable navigation in the program when exporting it to pdf. Also, how, if its possible, do I build an html file out of an InDesign document or exported from ID as a pdf?

ID CS3 has an export to crossmedia xml for DreamWeaver option, but you need to edit the result in a html editor like DreamWeaver to clean it up and get a better result. You will never be able to get a page in html that looks exactly the same as in ID though unless you provide a pdf-page for download. You also do not have control of how a pdf on the web is shown for the user in his/her browser as that setting for that is done by the user, not by the page. Some show it on the page, others have pdfs for download (like me).

The bigger picture is as follows:
I have a button on my report that essentially should download the output of report to tab delimited text file. This button is integrated with a custom built class which has a main method. When I click on the button, the logic written in the main method gets executed.
In this method I generate my internal table and pass to cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download method with parameters mention above.
I try debugging but every thing seems to be working correct when sy-subrc = 0 through executable program and it does not enter into the download method logic when i do it through main method, instead sy-subrc is straight set to 6 (unknown error).

How do you keep embedded documents during conversion from Word 2007 to PDF?

I have additional documents, spreadsheets etc embedded into a Microsoft Office Word document. When this document is converted to the PDF (using the Word PDF add-in interface) the embedded objects can no longer be opened and only appear as images.
Is there a way to retain the embedded document during the conversion so that they can be opened from within the resulting PDF?

I don't have Acrobat X installed at this time so am not able to create or edit PDFs (other than from Word). I understand that creating a PDF from Word may not be an Acobat issue per se, but thought that someone on this forum may have experienced a similar problem, hence thought I'd try my luck here
