Scale images in a slideshow

Greetings
Is there a way to scale or position images in a slideshow such that they are within title safe? My slideshow images are getting severely cropped on my tv. Or, do I have to adjust them in photoshop so that they have a black border around them? I'd rather not do that.
Thanks!
iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

William:
Or, do I have to adjust them in photoshop
Yes.
In Photoshop CS2 select New file and choose from the presets list the video format your are authoring, i.e. DV NTSC. This way you'll get a blank canvas with your video dimensions including the Tittle safe area. Use as a base canvas to resize and/or recenter your pictures.
REmember using the Acion & Tittle safe references lines active in DVDSP. That way you can check if something important in your picture (... i.e. a head !!!) is outside the action safe zone.
Hope that helps !

View –Cover Flow View-Grey scale images
Hi. No problems when I view my album covers in either [List View] or [Album View]. When I use [Cover Flow View] I get distorted lines, less than even a blurred image, in fact grey scale. Seems strange that iTunes can display in [List View] or [Album View], but not in [Cover Flow View]. Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't know the answer to this so a couple of suggestions, are you on the latest version of iTunes that is compatible with Windows 2000?
If not you can download it here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/itunes732forwindows2000.html
Are you upto date with your DirectX for Windows 2000? Although looking at the MS website it doesn't look as though there is anything particularly new:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7c61e5da-8c60-43f6-9549 -65b93cf6f987&DisplayLang=en
Also check your computer manufacturer's support website to make sure you are upto date with your drivers etc.

  • How to change the images in a slideshow

What is the best way to change the collection of images in a slideshow?  I realize you can delete images by deleting individual thumbnails, and then add new ones, but that seems rather crude.  If I want to swap out a collection of images in a slideshow and then replace them with a new collection, which may or may not include some of the original images, is there a simpler way to do that?
And related to that, is there a publish plugin for Adobe Lightroom that allows one to publish from Lightroom to a Muse slideshow?
    Thanks.

    1. Temporarily switch on the thumbnails and drag the thumbnails to a new place.
    2. Locate the slide show in the layers panel (using the magnifying glass at the bottom of the panel) and drag the images to a new place within the slide show.

  • How to delete an image from a Slideshow in Adobe Muse

In Adobe Muse, I've created a slideshow through Slideshow Options > Add Images. I know how to replace an image, but how do I delete an image from the slideshow? I don't see that option anywhere.
    Thanks.

It worked - I deleted it from the thumbnails. Thanks.

  • IDVD is stripping most color from my images in my slideshow. Please help!

I have received so much help from this forum....
I am running iDVD 7.1.2 and Mavericks 10.9.5.
So I started an iDVD project about 18 months ago on a different computer.
I saved the project to an external HDD so I could move it from an iMac with a bad DVD drive to a MacBook with an awesome superdrive.  This has always worked for me.
But I don't think think that information affects my current problem.... just tossing it out there because sometimes information we don't think is relevant is certainly relevant to a knowledgeable person!
Fast forward 18 months or so. I open the project on another computer, but iDVD is stripping all but the brightest colors from the images in my slideshow.
    Is this a Mavericks thing?
I have tried, in numerous variations, even to the point of starting a completely new DVD project and dropping the images into the app..... still the same problem:  all the images are mostly black and white (or gray tones at best), with the occasional colored brightest elements from the original photo.  (It's a cool effect, just not appropriate or desirable for this particular project.)
I have tried the project on different computers, both with opening a new project and with building a new project.   It just doesn't matter.  The slideshow images lose color.  Except, an interesting caveat is that if I pause the playback, click the previous slide button, then play: the image has full color again.  But subsequent images are again B&WwC.
I figure it must be something awry with the settings in Wirecast.....
Thank you so much for any assistance.

    Hi
In what kind of format is Your photos ? .jpg, .tif, .bmp else
    What size are they ?
    How many ?
    How many slideshow set's ?
You are aware of the 99 photos per serie limit. And 99 series/chapters limit per DVD disk ( not iDVD but DVD-Standard in general ).

  • Repeating images and replacing images in a slideshow

does anyone happen to know if I can select a set of images and basically copy them so that they are duplicated within a slideshow? I have a rotation of an object and I would like the slideshow to show it rotating twice whereas right now it only rotates once. Is there a way to copy the 60 images and paste them within the slideshow (even though they will have similar names) so that I can put them at the end of the first 60? I have a front cover image and a end image so I can't just loop it.
Is it preferable for me to import the images into Aperture again by copying them into the slideshow?
Also, is it possible to alternatively /write-over/ images in the slideshow? RIght now I have some images at the front that I would like to redo and I am wondering if I can redo them outside of Aperture and simply copy them into the slideshow and have the old ones written over or if it necessary to delete the old ones and import the new ones...
thanks for any help with this.
    - Jon

    Hi Gibbah,
You'd have to place the line with:
    var imageLoader:Loader;
    within the loop.
Now the same loader is told 5 times to load an image and to
report when done. Each time overwriting the previous commands.
With the variable declared inside the loop a new loader is
    created each time.
In the eventhandler you'd have to point to:
Loader( e.target.loader ) instead of 'imageLoader'
apart from that i will aways trace 5 since it is declared
outside any function and thus reports the last value it was
assigned. This also means all images will end up at the same
    position.

  • Linking an image from one page to an image within a slideshow on another page.

I would like to link an image on my home page with an image within a slideshow on another page of my website. I can create the link, but when I click on the link, instead of taking me to the image within the slideshow, it takes me to the first image of the slideshow which I don't want. Is there a way to link to an image "within" the slideshow and not the first image?

    Hi
You can create pages with specific images and then use link of images which will open the page with that specific image, link images within slideshow to show exact image within would not be possible with native Muse feature as by default slideshow will open the first image in target.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • How do I go from a link to a specific image in a slideshow?

    I have a two-part question.
    1. How do I go from a link to a specific image in a slideshow? If you take a look at the attached screenshot, here's what I'd like to accomplish. I wan to click on a link like B for examply at the top of the page. It scrolls down the page to ANCHOR "b" where I have a slide show. Once it scrolls down, I would like to have the slideshow to slide over to the image set that matches the link that was clicked. in this case, if i click on B at the top, the slideshow would slide to image set "B".
    2. Each piece of work I want to display has three images. One which is our main image seen inside the black outlined box below. There are however two additional images tied to each piece being shown. What is the best way to set this up? The default way of using the slideshow is limiting.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you as I have the same problem!
I want to link images on one page to certain slides on another.
Have you had any luck solving this?
I've spent hours looking for a solution... I'm very frustrated!!!
Will post again if I get some answers.
    Best of luck
    David
David, as of right now there is no way to click a link and have it go to a speficic image inside of a slideshow on another page. It will only show the first image in the slideshow on that other page.
So, perhaps you could just have the image you want to jump to on the other page, be the first image in the slide show. Make sense?

  • Images in mp4 slideshow are 'soft'.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong here. I've just completed a quick experiment in Slideshow and exported w/a short-enough piece of music for the 12 slides I'm using.
The slideshow looks great when I play it back in Preview.
However, when I export as a 'video', images in the slideshow look 'soft', out of focus! (Both in the 480x320 and the 720x480 presentation size.)
Now this is the first time I've putzed around w/the Slideshow module since LR2. In the past I had produced PDF slideshows at various presentation sizes with fabulous results. In fact, the fade's were good and w/Adobe's most current Reader installed the transitions were nearly spot-on to what I had built into the slideshows in LR.
What is it I'm not getting about exporting as an mp4 here in LR3?
As well, is there a way I can trim the 'fat' from these finished movies (eg. imovie, etc.)?
For only 12 slides (w/music) at 480x320 we're looking at 3.6MB, the 720x480 file jumps to nearly 14MB!
And, last but not least, any suggestions on good places to shop for mp3 files that are drm-free?
In my experiment I used a piece by Merry Clayton, from the 'Performance' soundtrack; but when I publish something I don't want to be ripping someone's ©'d work...
    thx,
    mm
See both versions of slideshows I am referencing HERE. (Videos play just fine in Firefox. NO playback in Safari.)

    T.R.,
Thanks for the input and your suggestion. If you follow the link I posted in my (very late) response to Pete's post (from back in October) I was finally able to wrestle a 'reasonably sharp' version of the slideshow movie I wanted to make through the Slideshow module w/LR.
    What I did was this:
    1) Exported images sized to 720p wide. Then
    2) Re-imported the smaller TIFF's back into LR and sharpened them almost till my teeth ached (were WAY-too 'crunchy' for my liking when viewed in the content window), then
    3) Brought the new, smaller and Über Sharpened images into the Slideshow module where I exported the thing with music AGAIN!
Miraculously this procedure seemed to work... WRONG. (Only temporarily!)
Why do I say this? Because when I decided to make a new slideshow sans music – using the exact same image files w/the same (Snapshot) settings I saved back in October (it is now 5 months later) – the resulting slideshow's images are back to MUSH AGAIN! (Grrrrrrr.)
So I tried your idea T.R., your work-around experimenting with the 'Widescreen' template Adobe provides... NO GO: Got the same garbagy reproduction of images no matter what export size I use for the movie files!
I'm going to keep on trying – BUT I really don't understand why Adobe would roll-out a generally impressive application like LR3 and have included a feature it would seem to me to be of real utility to many of the folks using LR. (Not only wedding shooters, which, I'm going to assume, would totally glom-on to being able to make 'cool' slideshows of the events they make their livings on; but also 'artists' that might create something more 'edgy' or engaging: Combining, say, an mp3 version of some spoken-word story or poem in tandem with an engaging series of images.) But no.
I find myself almost embarrassed now, the praise I continue to heap on this application – and Adobe – when I talk to others about Lightroom. I REALLY have no use for the Print module. The Web module is really quite nice – lots of controls to make clean, sophisticated (HTML) designs – though I still find myself doing additional, followup work in D'weaver to get rid of some clunky design issues w/my exports here. (*It would be great if we could easily adapt templates so that those of us who want to get rid of, for example, that ugly, clunky Old School link underlining that is generated with whatever is typed-into the 'Web or Mail Link' field...) C'est la vie.
Do we really need to purchase ANOTHER app to make wonderful slideshows that look as good as they should?!

  • Arranging/Ordering images in a slideshow

It seems that when I upload images to a slideshow, they play in a random order. Is it possible to have the images appear in a certain order?

    Hi Alanna,
The images in the slideshow appears in the order they appear in the thumbnails box, unless you have the option to shuffle, checked. Screen shot - http://prntscr.com/3mq8if
I will recommend that you, in order to arrange them in a certain order, use the thumbnails box and if you are not willing to use the thumbnails in your design then you can disable that once after you have arranged the images.

  • Text triggering images within a slideshow?

    Hi All,
I'm looking for a method to allow scrolling text that comes into view to activate matching image in the slideshow next to article. Does anyone one know if current DPS allows such technique to work?
    Thanks.

So you want a scrollable frame that includes text that when swiped to a certain point it will trigger a specific image in an MSO? Using the current DPS tools you would need to tap the actual text which could have a button assigned to it that targets an MSO state, rather than what I think you want is the actual location of the scroll to automatically activate the matching image. I would look into creating this effect in Edge Animate then linking to it from inside your InDesign DPS layout. Very possible with .js and keyframes.

  • Multiple Scale Images in one workflow?

I want to take a large image, scale it down and rename it, then scale the new smaller image and rename it. (The Create Thumbnail function makes them too small, though.)
Right now, my workflow looks like this:
    Get Selected Finder Items
    Copy Finder Items
    Scale Images
    Rename Finder Items
    Copy Finder Items
    Scale Images
    Rename Finder Items
The workflow does the first scale and rename, and while it says it does the second half, nothing results from those commands. The log shows no errors. Playing with it, it seems that the second Copy Finder Items isn't working. The only workaround is for that second Copy Items to be pointed to a different folder than where the first items are put (which is annoying).
I've tried throwing in commands for Automator to create a new folder and move things around, but repeatedly specifying where to move and copy almost defeats the purpose.
Any idea how to get a single workflow to take one image, then scale and rename it twice to end up with TWO images of different sizes and names? TIA

Have you tried the Move finder items action, if you say the workaround is to save it in a different folder?
    Just guessing:
    Get Selected Finder Items
    Copy Finder Items
    Scale Images
Rename Finder Items (this is size 1)
Copy Finder Items (to a prespecified temp folder)
    Scale Images
    Rename Finder Items
Move Finder Items (back to where you want it to be, this is size 2)
    See if it works

  • Using slideshow function yield very fuzzy/soft focus show.  Same images in MS slideshow are sharp.

When I view a selection of images using the slideshow function in Bridge, (CS6) it significantly softens the focus of every image.  If I view the same images in the MS slideshow viewer, the images, same screen size, of possibly even slightly larger, are very sharp.  Why the problem?  Typically I am working with 3-8 MB files.

Thanks for your reply and for the link. However, the link addresses the problem for TV appearance while mine was concerned about the playback on my iMac.
When I burned other DVDs from Keynote, there was no "blurring or fuzziness" with photos or text on playback with my iMac or TV!
Also, the playback was automatic when the disk was inserted. When the latest one was inserted, the disk icon etc had to be clicked for it to run after which full screen had to be selected as well.
I do not want to make a DVD from iDVD - just one that will run the slideshow.
Any other suggestions on burning would be appreciated.

  • How to Convert FLIR Gray Scale Image to a Temperature Map in NI VBAI

I have been working with a FLIR A315 Infra-Red camera and NI's VBAI software.  I need to determine the presence and continuity of a hot mastic foam that has been injected into the hollow bulb of a rubber weatherstrip seal in 4 adjacent locations that flow together inside the weatherstrip bulb to form a continuous foamed mastic plug.
So far, I have been able to trigger image acquistions in VBAI from a FLIR IR camera by monitoring an Allen-Bradley PLC's status bit.   The communication with the FLIR A315 camera is via the IMAQdx GigE driver.  However, I haven't figured out how to detemine the temperatures from the gray scale images I receive from the FLIR camera.  I wonder if someone could give me some pointers on how to do this.
I have attached some images below to illustrate what I am working with and how far I've gotten.
iPhone_Photo.jpg - shows a photograph of the weatherstrip section that the FLIR IR camera is "looking" at.
FLIR_IR_Monitor.jpg - a screen capture of a FLIR IR monitor utility that shows temperatures measured at a number of points and areas (showing it can be done)
NI_VBAI.jpg - part of my VBAI 2010 project which shows the image I've acquired from the FLIR A315 IR Camera
So, I am part of the way there, but so far have not found a way to map the gray scale image that VBAI is acquiring from the FLIR IR camera into a heat map from which I can determine temperatures - and would appreciate some help on how to do this.
    Kind regards,
    Nick

    Hello,
Image provided by FLIR camera are unsigned 16bit.
Depending on the FLIR temperature scale you selected (10mK or 100mK), you will have to divide by a 10 or 100 factor to get K values. Don't select radiometric output.
So if your object is cold, the population of the histogram of your image will be on the left part of it and if the object is hot, the population of the histogram will be on the right part.
If you want your temperature values in Celcius, just add 273,15 to the Kelvin Value.
Then you can add a color palette in VBAI (FLIR iron is available)
    Hope this helps

What resolution and if I need to do anythig with digitalstill images files?

Use an image editing program like Photoshop to resize the images to the correct resolution
and pixel aspect ratio (PAR) of your DVD before importing them into PPro. PPro does not resize images very well.
