Scale to Fit not working

I use very high resolution monitors in my office and most of the client PCs show up tiny in the logmin app window. Resizing the window results in a large window with a huge black border... why can't the default be to scale to the window size like Teamviewer or just any other remote access program? ok, so resizing doesn't work, but me thinks "ah ha! the Scale to Fit button will do the job" - WRONG! It does nothing. Instead I have to use Zoom until it sort of fills the window. What am I missing? How do I get Scale to Fit to work? Thanks

Unfortunately, you've posted to the wrong sub-forum. You want the PrPro Forum for CS3.
Now, the MOD's will probably move this one to that location for you, but in the meantime, can you tell us in full detail what your Project Preset is and also the full details of your source footage? Next, give a description of your Export settings.
That will likely point up where the error is.

Scale to fit not working in Ppro cs3

I have an issue with scale to fit of export settings in Premier Pro CS3. I need to eliminate the black bars on the side of clips. I check the scale to fit of the output box but it will not do the job. I have to manually play around with pixels numbers in order to get rid of the black bars. Is this normal or am I missing something?

I have a semi-related question. I'm using CS4. Does scale to fit reduce the image quality? It seems like it does.
I shot P2 HDV footage in the widescreen ratio (shot 24p 720p HVX-200), but my intention was to present a 1.33 image aspect ratio (not to be confused with the HDV pixel aspect ratio) even on the 16x9 displays, in other words pillarboxed.
This output was successful using crop tool in Media Encoder, but on 4x3 TVs, I want to present a fullscreen image. I output with Media Encoder, select 4x3, and I crop the same way, and then I choose "scale to fit". However, this reduces the image quality.
Is there any other way I can take 16x9 1.78 footage and crop it in Premiere Pro, or Encore, or Media Encoder to create a full-quality 4x3 image that is fullscreen on 4x3 TVs? (Note: I definitely don't want a letterboxed and pillarboxed result on 4x3 TVs, i.e. windowboxed).
I tried opening new Premiere Pro projects with different settings, and tried using "interpret footage" to fool it, but I couldn't hit on the magical combination to create a 4x3 cropped project (or Pan&Scan you might say) in Premiere Pro. Are there some Pan and Scan tools in Premiere Pro that can do this?
I found some help here. It says: "This techniques is called pan & scan. In Adobe Premiere Pro, you can implement either technique by using Motion effect properties such as Position and Scale." But what the heck would I do? Open a 4x3 standard def project and then import the HDV P2 footage and use position and scale there? Cropping it in an appropriately opened DVCPROHD project has a 16x9 image area to start with...
Any help?

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press CtrlAltShift/CmdOptionShift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Zoom-to-fit Not Working in Preview, & other features, too.

I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard, and have since found that Preview is not working properly. This is something I use almost every day, & it not working has created a real disruption to my work-flow. I've noticed that others have complained about this, and have been doing so since at least October of 2009! Apple has obviously not addressed this, as I've done all the updates, and still it doesn't work. The Zoom-to-fit won't work, altho it sometimes will when there's only a little bit of space left, & sometimes when the image is too big, it may reduce. However, the "automatically resize" doesn't work either, and some other features work erratically as well. Sometimes when I change the resolution of the picture, it will zoom to fit, & sometimes well, so many things don't work, or do, but so rarely, I can't even remember all the instances.
Does anyone actually have some kind of work around, or solution? I've done the trash all the preferences, etc., which didn't do anything, and am stumped at this point, thanks...

Surely you understand that you are not talking to Apple here, just other users like yourself. Whether Apple knows about it depends on whether you or someone else has used the bugreporter or feedback channel to tell them. Yes, I do understand that, and my question was in response to being told that
"Preview in SL is broken", by one of the "experts" when I posted my own thread about it not working properly. To me, that response implied this was a known condition, & that this person knew that Apple knows, & since this was all he said, w/no other advice, it further implied that a fix would come out whenever it will, and there's no use in pursuing it further. So, my question was to anyone else to affirm or deny that is or isn't the case.
Plus, I've read that in fact, some employees of Apple do contribute to the discussions (as they surely should, if for no other reason, that what I just spoke of, to let us know when an issue is a known one, thus nothing else can be done until Apple releases a fix; thus preventing users from wasting time &/or screwing something up worse, attempting to fix it)
Does Adobe Reader provide a possible replacement for Preview for your purposes?
Don't know, I'd rather not have to open it for all the times I would simply use Preview, why have it as part of the OS if it doesn't work? I'd think Apple would fix it, or not show features it can't do. That said, your question is actually the first response I've seen yet, that at least is a possible work around, thank you.

How a thread is marked is totally up to the person who started it. If you have a problem with how it was done, you need to take it up with that person I think.
I will, but it's not the person who closed the thread, as that was done nearly two months after it was marked "Solved". And yes, it could have been archived due to no further comments, although we've no way of knowing, since there's no date of archiving shown. And that is what I'm wondering, did Apple just close it, to avoid the topic being taken to the top of the list? If this feature is broken, why haven't they fixed it, now nearly a year later???
And I have personally reported this in several feedback forms. I refuse to sign up for the developers group, just to file a bug report, since I would have to answer all the questions in the application form without knowing what the heck I was talking about, since I am hardly a developer/programmer, techno-geek, etc., and shouldn't have to jump through all those hoops, just to report to Apple that something's screwed up! I can send bug reports via Safari w/o signing up as an advanced computer engineer, why should I have to for reporting the same with Preview? If Apple chooses to ignore feedback reports, as well as their discussion boards, then what real customer service would that be?

Shrink-To-Fit Not Working

HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One printer running windows XP. When I try to print a web page and click on the "Shrink-To-Fit" option it does not work. I checked for updated drivers and none are available. Anyone been able to solve this problem>

I also have this problem where I used to be able to shrink a 2 page doc to a single page. Since upgrade to FF4 it no longer works - but you can choose say 60% and it will work. All used to work fine in FF3

Resize window to fit not working

I can't get the resize window to fit option working. It has worked in the past; I have no idea what changed.
I am using Adobe CS4 (11.0.2) on Windows 7 (6.1) 32 bit operating system.
I made sure the resize window to fit option is turned on and deleted the preferences file. How can I fix this?

Where is that option. I know of menu View>Fit On Screen shortcut Ctrl|Cmd+0 and that you can set a script event manager open event to run a Script or action to do a View>Fit on Screen but the only Preferences option I know of for image window size is "Zoom resizes window"???

Scale Fit Not Working Correctly

Hello,
I have a front panel with a tab control containing 12 tabs. Each tab contains a cluster with one of the controls as an XY Graph. When I populate each of the graphs with data, I want to set the "Scale Fit" or "ScaleFit" property to 1 so that each graph is autoscaled 1 time. The problem I am running into is that only the graph that is shown is scaled correctly. The other 11 plots do not get scaled at all even if I set the "Autoscale" property to "On". This looks like a bug of some sort. Has anyone found a workaround? I tried turning on/off "Loose Fit" and this does not help.
I am running LV 8.5 on a WinXP machine.

Updating only 1 tab out of 12 doesn;t work, however, I guess I can do a single scale fit to other tabs if there has not been a scale fit done on the page before. Kind of a lot of work but I can swing it. Seems like NI should get this fixed.

Image Field Scale Proportionally does not work

Dear all,
we are using LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 to program a dynamic form in which we want to use image fields. Users filling the form should choose the picture to display in the image field.
We set the Image Field to embed data (so it can be saved) and to scale proportionally.
Testing the form with Adobe Reader 8.1.4 or 9.1, it’s possible to insert a picture, but it does not get scaled and seems to be positioned in the Background of the form.
Who can help us fixing this problem? If helpful, i can provide a copy of the form draft. Thanks in advance for any help und

figured it out by myself. Sometimes it's good to sleep a night over it ...
The solution is: In the Layout Tab of the image field, no exact measures were defined (extend to fit boxes checked). This way the poor program goes into a circuit.

Intenisty graph Z scale marker values not working

I have a VI that plots Intensity graph, I have assigned certain RGB values to the Z-scale markers. But all I see is green intensity chart always.

Strange thing is that all is showing white now. It was working petfect untill I put in a program that shows the mouse cursor for intensity values as long as I hover the mouse above the Intensity graph.
I am attachingn a VI so that you can see it for yourself. Also a test result that shows all values are almost same. In fact its supposed to be like sine wave. To get the actual values I will have to divide by 2^14 since my AD is 14 bit AD.
But I dont really know where am I going wrong.

Position & Scale motion effects not working on only one clip in a sequence.

Some of my klips are not acting normally when I attempt to apply motion effects. I want the clip to have a subtle pan/zoom (ken burns) effect, and I have been able to achieve this throughout the other clips in my project. However, when i try with the specific clip in qestion (as well as a few others) I can not control the beginnig frame size of the clip, or successfully make any motion happen.
Unaltered by motion effects, the clip is the exact size that I wish for it to be. But, if i add a scale(zoom) keyframe and adjust it so it zooms slightly, the klip now starts-and stays-on the newly entered scale size. If i try to put in a keyframe first that has the proper dimensions, and then add the scale (zoom) keyframe after it, it still does the same thing; starts-and stays- on the 'zoomed in' size. I also can not make any position-style motion happen. If I change the position (either on the first keyframe or second keyframe or third etc...) it behaves the same way as when i attempt to scale: the clip is now zoomed AND off center, and doesnt move at all.
Why is this happening? why cant I get any motion effect to actually happen?

SWFLoader Scale Content is not working when the application deployed

webserver(Tomcat), the swf file is getting loaded with its max

The Move and scale in photos not working, used a photo and typed message for lock-sceen and I am having trouble resizing it so all the text appears.

This is another example of failing Apple programming. Reduce Motion will not fix this problem. All it will give you is a small message while you are attempting to Move & Scale the image which states, "Perspective Zoom: On", and then when you attempt to size the photo to see it, the message changes to, "Perspective Zoom: Off", yet you still can't size the photo to see it... It is a bug and I've submitted over 20 feedbacks to Apple regarding this. Apple is hiring inept incompetent programmers or else is loosing control or just F'ing up basic programming. The media drive to get products out with new exciting features has driven over the idea that you test the features well prior to release. Even if you turn off Reduce Motion, you still can't get the entire image on the screen. The image still "jumps" back to a zoomed in version, cutting off the edges. I don't see how Apple can be this awful. Their programming is famous for being simple and just working, not being complicated and NOT WORKING. This is why Microsoft is failing day by day and Apple is trying their best to join. I'm finding program errors like this day by day because Apple is not sticking to basics. How can Apple make a lock screen feature where you can't see the photo you want to see? Can they be this ignorant after so long having this bug in existence?

What a nightmare! Had I known what was in store for me, I would never have updated my iPAD Mini to iOS7.
The calendar with it's ultra-thin Helvetica is near impossible to see. To add insult to injury, not being able
to move and size a wallpaper photo is just totally unacceptable. So annoying when software is thrown out
there for the general public when it's obviously not ready. I tried the solution:
Go to Settings > General > Assessibility > Reduce Motion "set to OFF"
Next, in Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness > Choose Wallpaper (pick the wallpaper) - you should now be able to "Move and Scale" the photo that you've chosen for your wallpaper.
After you've SET the wallpaper, you can go back to Parallax motion by turning Reduce Motion to "ON" (see step 1)
And it just DOES NOT WORK. Plain and simple. I am so tired of Apple products that have bugs that we are all expected to work through and work out while paying anywhere from $500 to $2000 for a product. And of course you can't get online support in a quick, efficient manner. My big old $600 bite out the Apple is tasting mighty sour at the moment.

Scale-to-fit with sticky menu

Hey everybody,
I have used Sara's scale-to-fit code, works perfectly.
There are two things though that I just can't get around.
I have created a sticky menu, that sticks to the top after a certain amount of scrolling.
using, $("body").append(sym.$('Menu')) and position:fixed, top:0px and all that.
This works great too, until I resize my window. It doesn't go along with the scaling of the stage, stays in it's original size.
I'm gussing the append is what is causing this.
Tried adding some css to control the menu's size on the scroll function, but that doesn't seem to work either.
Besides that, the code that is supposed to scale the height of the stage,
parent.height(stageHeight * rescale);
only seems to be working on Chrome. On Firefox and ItE, when I resize my window, the stage's height remains in it's original, creaing a very long empty scroll on the end of the page.
Any suggestions?

Glad you found the tutorial useful!
This is because the code targets the #Stage div, not the body which is where your menu is appended to.
Trying $("#Stage").append(sym.$('Menu')) might do the trick. Give that a shot.
