Scaling a large Image during printing

Hi,
my Help includes some large images that are cut at the right side when printed. Is it possible to scale such images during printing, so that they fit on the printed page?
I use OHJ, V4.2.6 with JDK 1.5.0_06.
Thanks,
Mirko

I don’t think you want to set the image’s width/height to the page dimensions.  I think that will shrink the image to fit the page.  If you leave the image as a larger size, FlexPrintJob should chop into enough pages.

  • How to print a really large image on a desktop printer?

Is there a way to output a really large image on an inkjet printer?   For example, I want to print out a 4'X6' (1.5mX2.0m) image on a printer that only outputs 8.5" X 11" paper.   Is there a way to automatically tile the output so I can tape them together later?

Print>> Scaling >> Tile Full Pages
Set an overlap, unless this is quick and you are ok with slivers of white between your prints.

  • Lightroom 4. I have a large image (scanned) 10,000 X 14000 which does not Render when I try to print or export.   Regular sized images work fine.

In Lightroom 4:Mac OS 10.6.8.     I have an expecially large image (scanned) which is 10,000 X 14,000.  I have edited it but when I try to print or export the image, it starts to "Rendering Page" but gets stuck and is unable to complete the task before it times out.    When I use normal sized photo images (raw), it works fine.  I suspect the problem is related to the size of the file.   Is there some way I can reduce the size of the image while in Lightlroom?   Or is there any other solution?

You originally posted on a thread that really wasn't related to your problem, so I branched the discussion.
Check the Windows System Event Viewer to see the details of the crash, most importantly the name of the faulting module.
Most crashes on Open or Save are due to OS bugs (especially on MacOS) or bugs in third party extensions to the OS open and save dialogs.

  • My image is too large for the print service. Best options...

I shoot with a Nikon D800. It appears the images are too large for the print service. What's the best method to reduce file size? Open in Photoshop, edit size, and return to Aperture?

You would have to look in your TV settings, that is likely the issue.

  • How to print large image across several pages?

After using Appleworks for years I finally got Pages 09. In AW I used to be able to use drawing app to print large (36 x 36) images over several pieces of paper, simply by adding pages to the document. I would then tape the pages together to form the large poster. I can't see anyway to do this in Pages. It won't let you print any larger than 11x17, nor let you add pages to a layout to print a large image. Anybody know how to do this, or did I just waste my money?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Yvan Koenig discovered with iWork '08 that you can span images across pages in a Numbers document as a substitute. Select & delete any tables & then treat the Numbers document as a draw document. You shouldn't need to add pages like in AppleWorks as Numbers adds them as needed to display all of the content.

  • Can't Print Large Images With PrintJob()

    Hey all,
I'm having an issue where when I try to print a larger image
via printjob one of two things happens. One either the job fails or
two the output of the image is literally diagonally cut off. I am
simply passing the stage to the print job. I've tried both with and
without using printAsBitmap. Anyone encounter anything like
    that?

nope. but you'll need to scale your stage to fit the
    page.

  • Image cropped during printing!

    Hello,
I have a tiff image that is 13 x 48 inches @ 300 dpi, that keeps getting cropped to 8 x 11 inches during printing. I do not understand what is happening.
I have an Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer. I set my paper size in the "manage custom sizes" dialogue box, double and triple check all of my settings, previews and every maddening, minute detail, but it keeps cropping my images and I have wasted a plethora of ink and beautiful handmade paper.
I have done everything imaginable to try and remedy this problem. I have updated my printer driver, researched forums, spoke to support, had my friends look at my Photoshop settings, gone through every setting and tool and nothing is working.
I can't help but think it is something so painfully obvious and simple. Any ideas? Could it be my screen resolution, some obscure setting in Photoshop?
    Thank-you for any ideas...

What is the size of your paper?  What are the pixel dimensions of the file?  How much RAM and how much available disk space do you have?
What exact version of Photoshop are you running, 12.0.2?  What exact version of the OS, 10.6.7 ?
Have you downloaded and installed the latest version of the Epson driver for your printer?
Can you post a screen shot of what the print dialog box looks like in Photoshop?

  • Printing Larger Images (10x20)??

I'm new to photoshop elelments, in fact I just have the free trial.  I want to use the software to create larger images of multiples of my photos.  I created teh size of the file from the beginning, created my project.  Then, when I converted the file to jpeg I selected Maximum quality.  But when I go to print it through my online photo place its telling me that the max size is 6x9?  What did I do wrong?  I have a friend who did the same thing I did using an old version of photoshop and printed this size no problem.
Can anyone help?  I don't want to buy the software if its not going to work for me.
    Thanks!

When you went to File>new>blank file, did you set the h&w in inches? What is the value for resolution that you entered?
What is the resolution of the pictures that you placed on the background?  I assume that you did this via copy/paste; if not, how did you do it?
What is the maximum print size that this company can produce for you.

  • Print a large image from browser on one page

How can I print a large image that is generated by one of my servlets in a response page on one single paper page, (e.g A4 format). When I choose to use Print from Internet Explorer or Netscape the image is printed on 3 pages. Any stretch that I tried with Javascript does'n work. I dont want to use a plug-in. Can this be done with an applet or other way?
    Thanx for any answer
    Dan

So you are asking "How can I take an image in my browser and shrink it to fit on a single page?" This has nothing to do with JSPs, of course, because once the image is in your browser the JSP or servlet is long gone. What I usually do is to save the image to a file, then I use the (Kodak) Imaging for Windows accessory to load that file and print using the "Fit to Page" option.

  • How do I get AI to print a large image across multiple sheets of paper?

I'm pretty innexperienced with AI newer than a decade ago.  Anticipating that the software would be able to print Artboards as sheets, I created my image to cover more than one artboard.
I've read various related help topics and I still can't get one image to print over multiple sheets without space between: i.e. borderless.
I begin by choosing a 8.5 x 11 borderless in media but it still prints with a border even with "Don't scale" or "Fit to Page" turned on.
I tried tiling with some trepidation because it requires "Ignore Artboards" to be on and wants to reorient the paper the other way if on auto-rotate.  If I specifically specify landscape orientation that seems to fix the problem except for one thing: it still prints with borders! If I tile "Imageable Areas" which seems silly since the printer is perfectly capable of printing borderless, it will have to scale the image down a bit, which I don't want.
There are settings for "bleed" and "overlap" but those don't seem to be what I'm looking for and I don't need to waste more ink.

Try using the document setup from the file menu. You can set up the artboards to any size you want and cal include a negative gutter which will meant that with proper spacing you can get the file to print with the needed overlap and not have to use the borderless setting. Most borderless printers actually expand the print 1 or 2 percent to make sure that it goes beyond the paper. You might not want to do that.

  • Problem converting XPS document with large images

    Hi,
When I try to convert XPS documents to PDF in Acrobat 9.0 Pro, I have problems with "large images". They are either truncated or scaled down. The only images that convert correctly are small images that are not stretched to fill a large area. Attached to this message is a simple example. Does anyone know a way to correct this problem? By the way, the page is slightly larger than the standard Letter size.
    Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestion! In fact, I am the programmer who creates the XPS files from a .NET document. Our company used the method "Postscript + PDF" during a few months and it worked quite well. Recently, we introduced semi-transparent objects and fonts in our documents and the resulting PS prints look really bad. Since I can create a perfect XPS document, and since Acrobat can convert it to PDF, I gave it a try. It solved all the problems that I had with PS printing but there is that thing with images... Anyway, since Acrobat converts XPS to PDF, I guess they should try to solve the bug with the images. As for me, I will see if I can get a component to create PDF documents directly from our application.

  • Resizing images in printed documentation

I have Robohelp 10.  Is there a way to resize all images to 80% when creating a word and pdf document.  If I create an image style to 80%, it is ignored when creating printed documentation but works for online HTML help.

    Hi there
From what I'm reading, it would seem that you are using CSS to present images at 80%, no?
If that's the case, it would seem you want your images presented at 80% of original size regardless of whether they are presented on the screen or whether you are creating printed output. And if that's the case, I'll ask the obvious question.
Why don't you simply scale them to 80% before inserting them into the project? Wouldn't that solve the issue and eliminate any need to create a CSS rule to scale the image?
Additionally, by scaling in the browser you are likely causing horrible loss of quality. And causing the page to take longer to load because the larger image is being loaded when the page is viewed.
    Cheers... Rick
