Scan for saved files

  Windows XP
I copied my files from my Itunes folder on my desktop system to my laptop. I can see thr files thru explore, but I have to go and select each song and import them one by one. How might I scan the drive to mass import all the albums/ songs en masse? Thank you in advance.
Pat

Pat, If I understand correctly the songs are now all on your hard drive and you wish to add them to your iTunes library?
You do not have to do them one at a time. From your iTunes library, pull down the File menu and use "Add File to Library" and/or "Add Folder to Library." The latter goes thru a folder, including its subfolders, and adds all the songs it finds.

    any ideas?

    Error: "svr.VirusScanExecutionError"
    An intermittent problem with acrobat.com's underlying virus scan component causes this issue. This issue happens occasionally on a small number of server instances.
    The solution is to update the article again. Trying again typically routes you to a different host in the server array.

  • Looking for saved files in Adobe

    Please help me to open Adobe on a specific directory on my computer when looking for saved files?

    Actually, it's not written into the GUI for the app. That's just where Windows looks (to oversimplify a lot) if you don't tell it where to look. It's intended to be the default for all apps.

  • Scanning for additional file extensions

    Hi
    We have a requirement to scan and report back PCs which have database files on the local drives, and I am struggling to configure ZCM Inventory to scan for files with the mdb extension. I have checked the product documentation and do not seem to have missed anything
    In the Device Inventory settings section on the Configuration page I have "collect software file information" ticked on all the inventory scan types.
    In the "software files" section I have "Collect .exe files" ticked, and have placed mdb in the additional extensions field. I also have all three (system, ancillary, other) file catagories ticked.
    The inventory reports back all the exe files it can see on the test system I am running the inventory against (and yes I do have some .mdb files on there), but does not report back any mdb files.
    Is there something I am missing in order for this to work?
    Thanks

  • Memory Used for Saving Files

    My IT person is giving me a hard time because I've used 5.5 gigabytes of memory in the 2.5 years that I've worked here design everything from brochures to ads, etc.  Does that sound like an unreasonable amount of memory for desktop publishing?  His solution is to have me save everything onto 11 discs and have a spreadsheet to determine what projects are on which disk. I have no point of reference - and haven't run into this issue in past jobs.  Between saving files in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, PDFs and stock photography, the amount of memory seems reasonable to me.  And saving projects on discs sounds cumbersome.
    Appreciate the feedback.

    When talking about Memory most people think RAM not hard disk space. 5.5 gigs is a trivial amount of hard disk space to be used for projects in the DTP business. It should take up a trivial amount of space on your hard drive. HOWEVER, all your work if needed should be archived to CDs or DVDs as appropriate. If for nothing else backup. Each project should have its own disks or disks that can be externally marked. BTW, 1 terabyte drives are available for about $100. Tell IT to get a life, get off your back, and buy you a decent sized drive or two.

  • How to set option in Scanning for Reduced File Size

    I am scanning from a Fujitsu 6230 scanner in Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.4.1. My scanning options are Color, 300DPI,Letter, High Quality, with Optimization options of Custom Settings of JPEG for Color/Grayscale. The scanned files are very large...1852KB per page. After using the Reduce File Size option and selecting Acrobat 8 and later, the file size is reduced to 187K. Is there a way to preset the Acrobat 8 or later setting....rather than having to do the two-step?
    Also, if I use Fujitsu's scanning interface I get far higher quality pdf's,  with small file sizes, and lower scanning resolution......but without the option to append to a pdf, an option I use frequently. Apparently their program for converting the scanned image to a pdf is more robust than Adobe's. Is there a way to use their image->pdf engine within Acrobat?

    Hi Boatseller,
    I will put this in simple way.
    Can we set properties in biztalk wcf_custom adaptor like
    1. <security authenticationMode="UserNameOverTransport"
    2. enableUnsecuredResponse="True"
    or
     includeTimestamp="false"
    3. <textMessageEncoding
    messageVersion="Soap11"/>
    <httpsTransport/>
    I am unable to find these properties in BizTalk wcf_custom adaptor properties. It will be great help if you could guide me in right direction . My problem is to receive response message into orchestration which is not having header. But the response is coming
    from web service. I saw that in fiddler.
    Also, If there is any steps to make these properties available in machine config, please share
    Thanks in advance

  • Best practices for saving files when emailing to the media?

    I'm pretty much an Ai imposter. I have Illustrator cs4 (14.0.0) and the way I use it is to cobble my designs together from iStock vector files and a lot of trial and error. Occasionally my husband throws me a lifeline because he is skilled with PhotoShop. As a small business owner, I am dying to find the time to take a course but right now I am just trying to float around the forums and learn what I can. Basically I flail about near the computer and the design sloooowly and somewhat mysteriously comes together. It's getting faster and is kind of fun, unless I get stuck.
    This week I had a problem with an ad I designed for a very small community orchestra's printed programs. I send them a pdf first, and when they view it on their screens using inDesign they see the whole image but when it printed it omitted an element (a sunburst in the background). They thought it had something to do with that element being in color rather than greyscale (though there were other elements that survived and they were the exact same color so I was skeptical). I sent a greyscale file, no luck. I sent them the Ai file, but that apparently "crashed" their iD and now they believe I've sent a corrupted file. They aren't very adobe-savvy, either.
    I've designed and emailed no fewer than 9 other ads to other print & online media organizations this year and never had a problem. The file looks fine to me in all versions I open/upload/email to myself.
    You can see it here if you like: http://www.scribd.com/doc/27776704/RCMA-for-CSO-Greyscale
    So here are my specific questions:
    1. How SHOULD I be saving this stuff? Is pdf the mark of a rookie?
    2. What settings should I be looking at when/before saving? I read about overprint, for example, and did try that with one of the versions I sent them to no avail. I don't really know what that does, so I was just trying a hail mary there anyway.
    Thanks for your time!

    PDF is the modern way of sending files  but what you might want to do is in this case select the art in question and go to Object>Flatten Transparency
    then save it as a pdf or as an ai file when sending the file to them zip it if they have windows based computers or stuffit if they have Mac actually zip is good for both.
    It is safer to send it as an archive then as an ai file.

  • ESA scanning for a file inside of a zip inside of another zip.

    There is a new file-encrypting ransomware called CTB-Locker going around that places a malicious .cab file inside of a .zip file inside of another .zip file.  Two questions:
    1) How far will an ESA scan depth wise into zips inside of zips.
    2) Is a .cab file considered an executable by ESA or something else?  If it is considered an executable, would a block based off of this match (attachment-filetype == “Executable”) catch this type threat?
    Reference to the CTB-Locker: https://www.f-secure.com/weblog/archives/00002788.html
    Thanks

    As an additional safe-gap measure, i would also suggest (unless of course you're receiving a lot of emails with .cab attachments normally) to put in an extra filter to quarantine emails with .cab attachments as most of the attacks seen are coming as .cab formats at the moment.
    In terms of how deep it'll look in.
    for .zip .rar filetypes, it will look as deep as you've set it.
    So if it's a viral file inside a zip (where the viral file is  an executable) it will be unable to unpack up the zip and capture the executable at the content/filter levels.
    However normally the AV engine itself (mcafee and sophos) should be able to sort it out for you assuming the viral definition is available already.

  • IOS5.0.1 'Do Not Backup' attribute for saved files?

    Anyone from Adobe know if there are provisions to support the new iOS 5.0.1 way you need to save files?
    Since November 2011 Apple have updated the way you need to save files on iOS 5.0.1.
    I know there an ANE extension to overcome the problem, you can find it at:
    http://www.jampot.ie/ane/ane-ios-data-storage-set-donotbackup-attribute-for-ios5-native-ex tension/
    and the new Apple rules here:
    https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#qa/qa1719/_index.html
    In my opinion this must be implemented directly in the AIR ecosystem, and not rely on third party solutions.
    As I have made the StageWebViewBridge class and it uses extensively the filesystem, I need know which must be my next steps in the development.
    Thanks

    At first we also sought to find a solution without additional workarounds.
    So we migrated our Flex/AIR projects away from File.applicationStorageDirectory to File.documentsDirectory.
    I believe that will ok if your data is user generated & critical. This method uses the current AIR framework with no extra workarounds.
    But if like us you are downloading data and need to store this without the danger of being deleted then the use of File.documentsDirectory in your App will get Rejected.
    Our 'Do Not Backup' ANE should allow you to modify your existing File code slightly without a major rewrite because we have also developed a helper File storage package (ie.jampot.device.DataStorage) which uses File objects itself to do the work.
    A simple way to do this is a quick find and replace for:
    "File.applicationStorageDirectory(" with "DataStorage.filePrivate("
    Then after a file has been saved simply apply the iOS Do Not Backup ANE to that directory.
    private var iCloud : MobileBackup = new MobileBackup();
    iCloud.doNotBackup( DataStorage.filePrivate.nativePath );
    Yes it would be nice to have this built-in to the AIR framework, but for now the bottom line is even if you use Xcode you would still have to to rewrite parts of your code.

    PS. Looks like a nice project you are working on, I'll have to check it out

  • How do I change the default file format for saving files in Preview

    I often take screen clips and save them as files to my desktop, then upload them to my website or include them in emails. The default file format for Preview seems to be TIFF, but I'd prefer jpg. How do I convince Preview to use jpg as the default file format?
    TIA,
    Thad

    I should have been a little clearer...
    If I'm emailing a screen-clip, I can just paste it right into the email, but I post on a lot of discussion boards and it's often nice to be able to include a screen shot in those. My preferred way to do that is to post the clip at my personal website and then put a link in the post. It gives me the ability to delete the image whenever I want (a plus for any security freak) and it works on every discussion board I know. Some boards allow attachments, some don't. Plus I don't want to have to remember different d/b file attachment procedures. Anyway, when I make a screen-clip, I need to temporarily save it (usually to my desktop), then ftp it to my website. I use Preview to do that. It's simple. But I'd like it to default to .jpg instead of .png or .tiff. (FWIW, I just tried it and the default was .png, but I swear I did something similar earlier that defaulted to .tiff when I first tried to save the newly-created file).

  • Unique file name for saving file on server.

    Hi
    I am having a servlet which will be used to save a file from client machine to server.
    Now, this servlet can be used with multiple users through web at same time.
    All user will be uploading files.
    There will be cases where 2 users from different location will upload files with same name.
    Thus, it is important for me that I append some string in uploaded file name, so that file name stands unique.
    How can I get this unique number.
    Is there no instance number for generated class !!.
    Thanks

    A few years ago I found this code on the Internet. I have forgotten where, but I'ven been using it since then and until now it always generate the unique number.
          * Generates unique ID based on timestamp, thread ID, random seed and random
          * double. Each part is converted to hexadecimal, padded left with zeros to
          * a length of 8 chars and then concatentated to each other.
          * @return Unique 32-char hexadecimal string.
         public static synchronized String getUniqueID() {
              final String pad = "0";
              final int padLength = 8;
              final int padDirection = StringX.PAD_LEFT;
              String timestamp = Integer.toHexString(Long.valueOf(System
                        .currentTimeMillis()).intValue());
              String threadHashCode = Integer.toHexString(Thread.currentThread()
                        .hashCode());
              String randomInt = Integer.toHexString(RANDOM.nextInt());
              String mathRandom = Integer.toHexString(new Double(Math.random()
                        * Integer.MAX_VALUE).intValue());
              // You may remove this try block if you want to increase performance by
              // 1ms.
              // But the generated ID might not be fully 100% guaranteed to be unique.
              // If you want to keep this block, then you can "almost" safely remove
              // the
              // randomInt and mathRandom parts of the UniqueID.
              try {
                   Thread.currentThread().join(1); // System.currentTimeMillis()++
              } catch (InterruptedException e) {
                   // Do nothing. However very, very, very rare. Haven't seen it
                   // earlier.
              return StringX.pad(timestamp, pad, padLength, padDirection)
                        + StringX.pad(threadHashCode, pad, padLength, padDirection)
                        + StringX.pad(randomInt, pad, padLength, padDirection)
                        + StringX.pad(mathRandom, pad, padLength, padDirection);

  • Scanning for all  files in a directory

    I built a very basic flash movie of 6 pictures scrolling
    across a page for a client. You can view it at the link below.
    Fazio Realty
    I made most of the content on the site updatable through a
    protected Admin section, but now he wants to be able to update the
    images in the flash also. I am pretty sure this is possible but
    have no idea where to start, if anyone could point me in the right
    direction that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
    advance.

    It's totally possible. There are many ways to do it as well,
    all from simple to complex.
    One way that shouldn't be too difficult, you could create a
    movieclip with presized movieclips inside it animating just like
    the pictures you have on there now do. On each of the movieclips,
    load one of the external jpg files into it. You could use
    loadVariables or a movieClipLoader to do that.
    Also, you might want to consider upping the frame rate on
    your movie.. It is very jerky.

  • What is the best method for saving files off of the hard drive?

    I would like to save music files and photos somewhere other than my hard drive (eg. CDs, DVDs, zip disks). What is the best method for doing this?

    It rather depends on how paranoid you are
    External hard drives protect you from hard disk trouble on your machine.
    Optical media (CD's, DVD's) protect you from trouble with magnetic disks - such as external hard drives and the HD in your machine. Optical disks are thought to be more reliable that magnetic disks for long term storage.
    Off site back-ups will protect you from fire or theft at your home or office.
    How paranoid are you? Personally everything is backed up across three diferent external HD's. And maybe twice a year I burn a copy of my photos onto DVDs and they go to a relative's house across town.
