Scan multi-page less convenient in Acrobat Pro 8

Scanning a multi-page document is less convenient in Acrobat Pro 8.
In prior versions when a page had been scanned a dialog box was presented in which the user could simply press Return or Enter to scan another page, or Escape if there were no more pages to scan.
However, in ver. 8, the new dialog box defaults to "no more pages to scan" and if you nee to scan additional pages you have to reach for the mouse and click an alternate radio button, then click another button to scan the additional page(s). Quite a bit more movement required than before.
I realize this is a relatively minor issue, but it's annoying when scanning multi-page documents.

  • Xerox 7830 fails to obey "Choose paper source by PDF page size" option in Acrobat Pro -- Adobe issue or Xerox issue? Workaround?

Our former office printer (Xerox 7345) had no problem with this. But the new Xerox 7830 fails to obey the "Choose paper source by PDF page size" option in Acrobat Pro. Even the "Page Setup" is overridden by the Xerox printer driver. It is extremely annoying to have to go into the Xerox driver dialog every time, regardless of that check in the box and the correct dimensions being displayed in the picture.....

Unfortunately, not only does this not solve the problem with multi-page-size documents, but it's begun happening on files which are all one size as well, where that box isn't even checked.
It appears that what's happening is the newer versions of Adobe Acrobat don't play nicely with emulated postscript support past a certain date. We're replacing our Canon with a newer model that has actual postscript support, and if that resolves the issue I'll be certain to post confirmation here. Copies of Adobe Acrobat 7 and 8 in our office haven't seen this problem at all; it's simply everyone who has upgraded past that point that can't print reliably.
More news next week, after we get the new copier.

  • Line spacing (leading) when converting web page to PDF with Acrobat Pro 8.1.2

I recently upgraded from Acrobat Pro version 7.0.9 to version 8.1.2 (Windows XP Pro). In many cases, when I "Convert current web page to an Adobe PDF file" using the Adobe PDF toolbar in Internet Explorer, the spacing between lines is much larger with version 8 than it was with version 7. Has anyone else observed this? Is there any way to control leading?

  • Can I create a page border using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

I'm making a certificate of completion and would like to create a page border.  Is there any way to do this is Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

If what you want to do is scale a page down to a smaller size, Acrobat doesn't do that, not directly anyway. I think there are plugins for Acrobat that can do this.
if you're desperate and/or don't want to go to that expense, there is a hack available in Acrobat that can get you there. If you've added other interactive elements (links, bookmarks, etc.), you'd have to recreate them. Post again, preferably in a new topic (since it doesn't apply to this one), for more info.

  • MB2320 - Scanning multi-page documents and saving as a single, page-consecutive PDF

I just purchased and set up a Maxify MB2320 to replace my PIXMA MX892, which fell victim to the dreaded "Incorrect Printer Head - U062 Error." My only disappointment thus far is the replacement of "MP Navigator" with "Canon Quick Toolbox" and the unavailability of ADF-AutoDuplex scans. My problem: I've searched the instructions, tried the "Document," "Custom," and "ScanGear" utilities and cannot figure out how to scan multiple-page documents, have the scanned images appear in a single place where they can be put into sequential order, and save the whole mess into a single PDF file that can filed and saved in a folder designated by me. I'd very much appreciate a step-by-step tutorial on how to do that. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your prompt response and suggested solution. It worked! (One of the reasons I got lost is that the CSR I spoke to when I called initially sent me straight to the "ScanGear" tab in the "IJ Scan Utility," rather than "DocumentScan" (not "ScanDocument.") Couple other observations. When I installed the utilities onto my laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium SP-1, the shortcuts were installed to the Hidden Icons Folder in the System Tray, not the Desktop; I can pin the utility to the taskbar or add it to the Start Menu, but I can't create a shortcut for the Desktop by right-clicking. Also, after scanning two double-sided pages manually for the saved PDF, I was able to rearrange the pages into proper order mostly because the pages were graphically distinct enough to tell them apart in the thumbnails. This would be impossible for pages that are all-text, since the thumbnail images are so small. Is there a way to make the utility windows any larger, or otherwise make the thumbnail images readable? Thanks again.

  • What's the easiest way to extract data out of a multi page document in adobe acrobat 8 pro.?

We have landers that are now sending us lists with multiple social security numbers in a single pdf with multiple pages, before they used to break it up into which departments they go to, so I installed acrobat 8 pro on the users machines, now we need to get certain lines of data within that document and make a single document for different departments out of that 1 document, i tried the crop tool and made a document from cropped image but it pastes it in the corner extremely small for some reason, and I dont see how you can extract that data and bring it into either word or make it a seperate pdf document, because it dosent keep any of the formatting????
    Please help

You might just try to do a save as DOC. The formatting may be lost, depending on how the PDF was made.

  • How do I restore the "Pages" button on Adobe Acrobat Pro?

I clicked the  Pages button, usually seen in the grey bar on the upper left side of the  screen, and accidentally pulled it out of the bar. Now it's gone. I suppose I don't know my own strength.
Please help me get it back. I use it a lot. Thanks!
(And is there a way to nail it down to keep this from happening again?

There are two ways. The following is for Acrobat 9, but it's similar for Acrobat 10:
1, View > Navigation Panels > Reset Panels
    2. View > Navigation Panels > Pages, and then click on the word "Pages" (as opposed to the top bar) in the floating window and drag back to the navigation pane.

Trying to save a LARGE document and it's giving me an error saying the document could not be saved.  there was a problem reading the document (14).  HELPS

Tried that :/  I finally went through and extracted sections at a time to narrow down the area of the corrupted pages.  It was within the first 15 pages.  So I will piece it back together like that and will have to redo my bookmarks which will take forever, but at least I didn't lose all of it.  I have the 9 version, so I'm going to request getting the latest one which is 11.

  • Wrong orientation of backsides of landscape pages when printing with Acrobat Pro 9

Since I switched to Acrobat 9 I have the following problem:
Two landscape orientated documents that were printed
identically with Acrobat 8 are printed different with Acrobat 9
(backsides of the document are rotated 180 degrees). The documents
    have the following properties:
    Landscape doc 1:
    - Media & crop box: [0 0 595 842] Rotation: 90 degrees.
    Landscape doc 2:
    - Media & crop box: [0 0 842 595] Rotation: 0 degrees.
I am using the identical driver. If I check the generated
postscript I see that they have a different orientation (portrait
    vs. landscape) and a different viewing orienation (1 0 0 1 + 0 1 -1
    0 vs. 0 1 -1 0 + 0 1 -1 0). Anyone an explanation for this
    difference?

  • Using Windows Search for multiple, multi-page PDFs

I am scanning documents into a Windows folder (documents have been OCR'ed).  An employee verifies that each document has a specific number that OCR picked up, if OCR did not, the user will use the 'Add or edit text box' under tools in Adobe Acrobat Professional XI to add the correct number.  Multiple scans are handled this way and merged together to create documents that may be up to 2300 pages long (so far).  Within that same Windows folder, there are other files with similarly handled information and numerous pages.
My problem is, if I am looking for a specific number that is within one of the PDF files within the Windows folder - I can find it if I open the file that contains the number and do a search.  However, even though we are using a Windows index to be able to search from the Windows Search, the Windows Search will not always be able to find one of the indexed numbers.  Does anyone know if there is a maximum size or number of pages a PDF can be for the Windows Search to be able to be used?  Perhaps this is a question I should ask of Windows.  I am not sure if I am doing something wrong with the PDFs or if the Windex index isn't working.  Thoughts?

    Something that may help -
With a multi-page PDF open in Acrobat Pro; select Document > Extract Pages
In the Extract Pages dialog you can select "Extract Pages As Separate Files".
This will provide you with a PDF file for each page of the source PDF file.
    Additional options are also possible.

  • Multi-page PDF to multiple single-page PDFs

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone out there knows a way, if you have a multi-page PDF, to export each individual page to it's own single-page PDF.  Is there a way to do this in Acrobat?
Or is there a way in Microsoft Word using Adobe's PDF print driver, to print each page to it's own single-page PDF?
Ultimately I want to run a batch process on each PDF page in Illustrator, but for me to do that each page needs to be it's own PDF.

  • Scanning multiple pages on hp officejet pro 8620

where is the setting to make officejet pro print mulit pages?

    Hi,
The following lines are from a 268 page manual:
    Scan
You can scan documents, photos, and other originals, and send them to a variety of destinations,

    ● Scan to a memory device
NOTE: The printer must be connected to the computer and be turned on.
NOTE: If you are scanning an original from the printer control panel or from your computer using the
HP printer software, the printer software provided with the printer must be installed on your computer
prior to scanning. In addition, on Windows computers, the printer software must be running prior to scanning.
NOTE: When scanning a borderless original, use the scanner glass and not the ADF.
    Scan to a computer
NOTE: To scan to a computer, make sure the feature is enabled.
(Windows) Open the HP printer software, go to the Scan section, and then select Manage Scan to Computer.
(OS X) If you installed HP Scan, open HP Utility. Under Scan Settings, click Scan to Computer, and ensure that Enable Scan to Computer is selected.
Now, to scan multi pages, please try:
Double click printer icon on desktop,
Select Scan a Document or Photo,
Put the first page on the glass (face down),
Check options (size, dpi ...), and select Scan document to file,
Click Scan - machine will scan the first page
Remove the first page on the glass, put the second page,
Click + (plus sign) It sits on the left hand side of a red x
Machine will scan the second page, put 3rd mage on the glass and click + again ..... to the end then click Save

  • Scanning with Yosemite splits multi-page documents into a separate document for each page

I use a Mac Book w/ OSX 10.10.1.  I scan docs using the HP Scan utility & both an HP OfficeJet 6700 & an HP Officejet 8600. Everything worked great for a year or more.
In about September, 2014, multi-page docs started creating a separate file for each page of the doc, instead of storing the scanned multi-page doc in one file as it had before.  I didn't change any settings w/in the HP utility that I am aware of.  I did download the the Yosemite OSX.  I haven't been able to find a setting w/in the HP scan utility to correct the issue.  Both of my scanners are useless for scanning & returning executed agreements (my primary use for them) until I can fix this problem.  I would appreciate any help anyone can give.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
From the HP Scan click on Scan and follow the steps on screen.
Once the scan preview being shown click on Send and then click on Folder.
Select the required Format, then check the box next to 'Save all items to a single file' and click the Save button, then the scan will no longer be saved in seperate files.

  • I get prompted to select a scanner and a scan profile/preset each time I try to scan a document to PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro.

    Hello,
I have a fujitsu scanner (fi-6140) connected to my computer and have the "Scan" button on the scanner associated with Adobe Acrobat.  And so when I press the "Scan" button on the scanner to scan a document, it launches Adobe Acrobat Pro automatically.   Then I get prompted to select a scanner/device and a scan profile.  It seems to remember the last-used scanner/device, however; it still prompts me each time to confirm the scanner/device selected and select a scan profile to use.  Is there a way to save both the scanner & scan profile information and so when I click the "Scan" button, it doesn't prompt me to select but starts scanning using the last-used settings automatically?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Are you facing the issue with any pdf file?
Please try updating Acrobat to 11.0.7 and check.

  • Help Needed:  Acrobat Pro XI - Reduced Sized PDF vs. Optimized PDF

Hopefully some of you folks can help me, as I cannot get in touch with Adobe customer service.  I recently upgraded to Acrobat Pro XI.  In my old version of Acrobat Pro, I used to be able to take a PDF file of large size (let's say 10 MB) and shrink it down considerably with relative ease (down to less than 1 MB).  The file could then be easily emailed, shared, read, and most importantly wouldn't take up tons of hard drive space.  With this new version of Acrobat Pro XI, that same 10 MB file barely reduces down to 7 or 8 MB.  I have played with the various settings in both the File -> Save As Other -> Reduced Sized PDF and File -> Save As Other -> Optimized PDF.  Regardless of what I try, I cannot achieve anywhere near the same compression results as what I used to be able to achieve with my old version of Pro.  I can get the file size reduced, but the reduced file quality is trash.
Has anyone else encountered this problem as well?  Do any of you have any suggestions on what to do to fix??  I primarily scan a document as a PDF file with my HP OfficeJet Pro, and then reduce the PDF file size after the scan.  I could scan the document with lower DPI to begin with (currently scan 300 dpi typically grayscale), but then I don't have the scanned image quality that I need to reduce the file down so that it can be reprinted later at a good enough quality.

I had previously ran the audit, and 99% + of my bloat is in the image.  All of the other possibilities for bloat do not even add up to 1%.  For my purposes as a Financial Advisor, I print out blank applications & account forms, fill out the paperwork by hand, and then scan copies of the completed paperwork back into my computer for electronic filing.  Some of these completed client documents can be 50 to 75 pages long ... so the PDF scanned at 300 dpi obviously starts out as a substantially sized document that can take up 25, 35, or 45 MB per scan.  The crazy thing is that the old version of Acrobat Pro (I believe it was version 7 or 8) would take a 45 MB file and compress it down almost to 1/10th of the oiginal size.  As a result, a 45 MB file would end up as a 4.5 MB file.  This significant reduction was always accomplished using the one button selection "Reduce PDF" command ... had nothing to do with optimizing the PDF with the old version.  Once I ended up with the 4.5 MB file, I could open that file at a later date and print out a page that I needed and you couldn't hardly tell if it was the original or a scanned copy.  There was no loss of quality whatsoever!!  The Reduce PDF size in Acrobat XI just doesn't work well ... will take that 45 MB file and reduce it down to 42 MB which defeats the whole purpose of the Reduce PDF command in the first place.  If I play around with the inputs in the Optimze PDF, I can shrink the file size lower but lose way too much image quality.  The only variable that has changed from my old scanning results vs. my new scanning results is the upgrade from Acrobat Pro 7 to Acrobat Pro XI ... everything else that I'm doing is the exact same.  Same thing applies when I create a PDF portfolio from multiple PDF documents ... a 150 MB PDF Portfolio will barely reduce in file size.
