Scan Productions duplicating Productions

Hi, this is driving me nuts.
I have a scan production configured to my capture scratch. All project and media are scanned and productions with the directory name are created correctly. This is configured to only scan until the medias inside the root project folder in captured scratch.
However I have folders called "extras" inside each project root folder that are not scanned (intended), but since medias inside this folders are used by the .fcp projects and if they're uploaded to FCS they will be catalogued as well. To "avoid" this I would like to create a Scan Production to pre-catalogue ONLY these "extras" folders to ONE production called "EXTRAS". I've managed to setup everything almost ok. All medias are catalogued but multiple (the number of "extras" subfolders) productions called EXTRAS are created.
So in resume I have:
Capture Scratch/project1/extras
Capture Scratch/project2/extras
Capture Scratch/project3/extras
And inside FCS productions is created 3 "extras" productions with medias inside.
My Scan Productions is setup like:
MetadataSet: Show
Title: Extras
Priority: Low
Scan Mode: Full
Production Depth: 1
Recursion Limit: 3
Does anyone reckon what is going on?
Regards

Just to ADD that it's not my ASSETS that are duplicating. It's ONLY PRODUCTIONS ("folders").
This doesn't have nothing to do with all other posts about duplicated assets.
The bottom line is:
You can specify a Name to a Production on "Scan Production" instead of \[0\], but doing this (or \[1\] and so on) it creates X productions with the same name, where X is the number of the Sub-Folders inside the Device and inside each "same-name-production" are only medias of that sub-folder.
Trying to ease things a bit:
If I have a Capture Scratch folder with many subfolders (created by fcp projects) and want all medias inside this "capture scratch" folder (regardless of sub-folders, in other words, flattened) into ONE and ONLY production how would I configure "Scan Production"?
I would think that choosing a fixed name (and not using \[0\]) and putting 0 as recursion limit it would scan everything inside those folders and would add to a production but that doesn't happens.
Thank you

  • Portal Forums - Which virus scan products?

    Hi,
Anyone experience with virus scanning of portal forums?
From the documentation I have learned that only ICAP protocol is supported by forums.
Are there any virus scanning products that support ICAP that you can recommend?
Here I found an overview, but none of these products are currently being used at our company.

  • Scan products by bar code during packing process

    Hello al SAP experts,
During packing process in my company, for some products of  finish goods we would like to  scan them by bar code one by one ( like a point of sale in a super market) instead of scanning the material number and typing the quantity.
Like in serial mode where you scan one by one we would like to do it also for non serial products- to scan the catalog number
(or the EAN/UPC code) and the system will sum up the quantity according to the number of items scanned.
Are you familiar with such an option?

    Hi
Scanning barcode at packing means, do you mean scanning the HU/carton? can you explain your requirement in little more detail?
We do have the similar requirement & its happening through RF gun. Have barcode for the HU/Carton ready, scan that which creates carton> then pack the product>scan the carton for the SSCC number which gives assurance for the right SKU, qnty & process PGI further.

  • Mapping during scan productions

In a previous post, I've read this :
"Also you can map the subfolder-names to metadata fields. For more detailed infos see the admin manual".
I didn't find anything like this in the administration guide. Effectively, they discuss on mapping folder name with title field. But nothing about subfolders.
For example, I have a metadata set with those fields : Title, Subtitle and TapeID.
    I also have a directory tree like this : MyTitle->(subfolder)MySubtitle->(subfolder's subfolder)MyTapeID.
I tried mapping my fields this way, [0] for title, [1] for subtitle, [2] for tapeID, but I only get "Mysubtitle" with [0],[1] and [2].
    Am I clear?
Have you managed to map any subfolders? How can I do?
    Thanks
    Matt

One solution could be using regular expressions. It is discussed here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7133538&#7133538 but I can't find any information on how to use regexs with FCS...
    Any ideas?

  • Scanned Data duplicating in Adobe Acrobat Standard 7

I am scanning a multiple page document, that includes letter size sheets and A4 size sheets.
When I set the A4 size in my twain driver screen, inside acrobat, any pages that are letter size in the batch, come up with the last quarter-inch or so duplicating the data scanned usually 3 times. The A4 pages are fine.
This only seems to happen if I scan the document from Acrobat. If I use a different program, which can scan to PDF's, the letter size sheets are blank, in the last portion where the setting is expecting an A4 size sheet.
This occurs if I use OCR or not. This just started happening a few days ago.
Has anyone ever seen this before? How can I get it to stop?

To post-process a tagged PDF or to tag an untagged PDF you must have the Pro version (Acrobat 6 through Acrobat X).

  • Upload FCP Projects and Associated Media to a Production

    Hi,
This sounds very silly but I`m really disappointed and can`t figured out how to do it.
Is there a way to upload a *.fcp project and associate NOT ONLY the project but ALSO the Media that this project contains?
In other words, if I upload a FCP project and choose a Production to be associated the production is created but ONLY the FCP Project Asset is inside this production, not the whole medias.
A scan production (for the FCP file) also doesn`t work.
What works is uploading all media and associating to a production or do a Scan production into a directory with medias. But my FCP and Medias are in distinct places and a thought that FCP project could help me cleaning the Media directories (by uploading the project and after all medias are catalogued archiving them, so the rest in directories are useless).
    The work around would be:
1- to do a Scan Production in the Media files and after that uploading a FCP project associating with that Production, but as I`ve said I can`t just scan the entire Media as it`s very messy and with this way I could be guaranteed that my important assets are catalogued (and archived) and the left ones in the messy directories could be quick filtered to exclusion and cleaning without worries.
2- to upload a FCP and associate to a production and after that manually move fcp associated assets to this production (this almost impossible because the limitation of 200 assets per page).
Can some one propose a better way?
    Regards

No, you are correct, but unfortunately these are Elements (inside the FCP project) and not real Assets. So for instance, if you fill in the annotations on the Asset it will not show on the Elements (inside FCP projects) and vice-versa. You can`t do a lot of other things as well with elements as you can with assets.
So I would like to have a Production with all media created automatically when a FCP project is uploaded (or scanned).

  • RF - Product identification modelling

    Hello Gurus,
I'm currently starting  a WM project in a leather-products manufacturing company. I have to implement RF based operations in their raw materials and finished products warehouses. I hope you can throw me some useful tips on how would be the best approach for product handling and identification.
WIth their current software they identify their raw materials (leather skins) with an EAN 128 barcode that groups together material number, batch and quantity. They have worked with their suppliers in order for them to ship the products with this label from their plants. By reading this label, they perform goods receipt, stock placement in storage bins (various materials and batches in the same bin), picking, etc. They reprint the label every time a stock removal is performed in order to update the batch quantity.
If I intend to map this exact process in SAP, I would have to develop my own custom screens that can read and interpret the EAN 128 barcode, and execute function modules to create TOs and confirm them automatically.
The other alternative would be to use storage units instead of their current EAN 128, which can also group and uniquely identify a material and batch quantity in a storage bin, which would require to print SU labels in goods receipt. This way I don't have to translate an EAN 128 barcode with application identifiers. Anyways, in both cases I would have to develop custom transactions because the customer wants to be able to perform stock transfers from bin to bin with just two barcode scans (product identification and destination storage bin).
How should I model this scenario? Should I use SUs or not?
Every piece of advice is greatly appreciated.

I put upgrading in quotations because I am not so sure it is an upgrade to go from PC to Mac, especially given all of the difficulty I am having getting the platform transferred over.  I appreciate the input about version 13 and see that you are correct.  Adobe is sending me a disc with the software on it.  I was trying to download it from the internet so I could get going with my new computer and photoshop.  However, every time I click on CS6 to download up comes CC.  CC seems to be an extended version of CS6 so I am hessitant to download it.  I was given the serial number to input re the program I ordered.  Not sure what to do at this point other than wait for Fed Ex to deliver disc to me next week. Any sugggestions?
Further question:  I downloaded and installed Lightroom 5.  I am on Mac Book Pro 4.  How do I activate the program?  Every time I double click on the Lightroom icon the installation dialogue comes up.  I read that I was to go to the download center, but I have no idea how to find it.  Help!

  • AutoCreate Productions

    Howdy FCsrs
Anyone know how to automatically create Production folders ??
ideal - Watch folder with elements, then that folder is automatically linked to a Production folder ..... I have looked throughout the response but can't see CREATE Productions

    According to AlexMedina:
You need to create a new Response. Type: Scan Productions
Then you need to define the device or a subfolder of a device to be scanned. You can configure the scan which folders/subfolders to choose for a new production title. Also you can map the subfolder-names to metadata fields. For more detailed infos see the admin manual. It's very easy to handle and works fine. I use it alot.
Don't forget to set up a schedule to fire up the response periodically.

  • HP OfficeJet 6500 E709a: cannot scan from Windows 8.1; uninstall crashes at step 8 of 10

When I try to scan from Windows 8.1, launched from the HP Solution Center, it fails before giving me a preview, saying:
    Scanning error
    4,[(2,22,80040001),(3,22,0)]
When I run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and select "Fix Scan", it fails on the first check, saying it failed to find the driver. The text field that gets uploaded to HP includes the string "hpbxpsrender.dll: Not Found".
I tried uninstalling, using uninstall.bat in the "OJ_AIO_6500_E709_EntScruber_140" (HP OfficeJet Enterprise 14.0), which I downloaded from HP.com. It gets to step 8 of 10 ("removing unnecessary components..."); then it hangs and Windows 8.1 says "HP Installer Uninstaller has stopped working" and kills it.
I have tried running uninstaller in regular mode, in regular mode with my anti-virus / firewall (Kaspersky) paused (disabled), and in Safe Mode with Networking. Same result every time.
I have run the Installer without error. I can view the HP OJ status web page in my browser (http://192.168.1.5) from both computers.
I don't remember if scanning has ever worked on this computer. Scanning works on another computer (Windows XP). Both computers are wired (Ethernet) to the same network switch as the HP OJ.

  • HP Device Not Found Error when trying to print or scan wireless- HP Officejet Pro L7590

Have had HP Officejet Pro L7590 All-In-One Printer for years.  Always worked fine and I had no issues printing via wireless connection.  Several months ago..  Possibly after a Windows 8 update.  From Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 I have not been able to use the printers wireless feature.  When I try to print or scan it shows the printer as offline.  Also get an error message that tells me "HP Imaging device is not found".  I can still print when connected to USB.  Cannot scan or use features of the HP software suite.  I have tried several times to correct.  Reloading the software and drivers several times, but no success.  I just tried again and was able to print the test page wireless, so got all excited and thought I fixed it.  Then tried to print something and got the same error message I have seen in the past.  I have talked to certain supports saying that it may be a firewall setting within Windows.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks

  • Scanning lots of photos - ideas?

I'm looking to scan a ton of old family photos. One scanner, the Kodak i1210, got a great write-up in the WSJ in early January. Here is a Consumer Reports blog post on it (I don't think he's right about it not being available to consumers):
    http://blogs.consumerreports.org/electronics/2007/03/thekillershoe.html
I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this or any other scanner that can easily scan large amounts of photos. Thoughts?

We had a whole tub of family heirloom photos I scanned 2 winters ago. Many were from the 1910s and 1920s. I ended up with 1200 scanned photos in my computer using 7.5GB of space. I recommend a setup like this:
    1) Scanner software:
    Vuescan: http://hamrick.com/
Vuescan works with virtually all scanners made so you can ignore crappy proprietary software. Vuescan will be the same software regardless of high-end rented scanners or your old HP flatbed. It does cost $50, but for a big job like yours it is worth the money. It does have batch functions so scanning production style is easy.
    2) Scanner:
I rented a Nikon Coolscan scanner for the old celluloid exposures, but for prints you are on your own. My sister had an old AGFA scanner that was excellent quality and was able to scan at 1200dpi. Keep in mind that old-timey prints are extremely high density and can be scanned at 900 or 1200 dpi for archival quality. You do want a good scanner for that.
    3) Image software:
    Graphic Converter: http://lemkesoft.de/
GC is the best out there. Batch functions for fast easy conversion from TIFF to JPG, a cool image browser and EXIF editing for your data fields. Invest in it and you won't regret it.
