  • HP7520 - Scan to email problel

Hi, I have read many emails about scanning to email issues. I have the same issue as others. The scan to email has worked perfectly fine for months. Now it keeps coming up with the message "unable to connect to wireless services"
I have tried all the suggestions about going the the HP website and entering the 8888 and 8844 codes under my IP address etc etc.
Can someone please send me the email which seems to have sorted out a similar issue for others?
    Many thanks

    Hello @AllyMcBeal ,
    Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand that you are getting a server connection error when trying to scan to email .
I would like to help you with this.
I realise you have already set a manual DNS.
There are two things that I would like to make sure you have done before you reset the printer.
    1. Turn off the printer.
Then unplug the power from your router or a minute.
    Wait one minute.
Plug the power back into the router.
    Turn the printer back on.
When the blue wireless light on the printer stops blinking, try the scan to email.
    2. Remove web services.
Touch the ePrint icon in the upper left hand corner of the display.
go into settings, select remove web services.
If you have customised teh printers ePrint address, you will lose the address.
Unfortunately there is no way to recover the email. It will be gone for good.
After removing the web services, you will be sent back to the main screen.
Touch the ePrint icon again and enable the web services.
once the information sheet prints out, go to scan to email.
You will have to set it up again like you did the first time.
Also if you are familiar with your router, double check the following settings.
-Multicasting needs to be turned on
    - Bonjour enabled ******** for Airprint
-Mac filtering needs to be turned off
-also make sure your router has current firmware update if
    needed
Ports to open are : *** Eprint and Apps
    UDP (incoming)Ports
    80
    443
    TCP (outgoing)Ports
    5222
    5223
Finally, I have sent you the reset via private message. Please ensure the above items have been done/reviewed before resetting the printer.  Please read this post by Bob_Headrick, in regards to printer resets.

  • 8500A PLUS - Scan to Email - to another 8500A Plus email address will it print with no PC?

Wanted to know if anyone has tried using two HP Officejet Pro  8500A Plus  SCAN to EMAIL feature without the use of a PC. Anything to look out for before spending the money on two of these units? Basically i want to set one up at my office the other at my home and use them without a pc using dsl internet to send  and receive scans .

If you have 2 8500a with the scan to email option you will need a pc to set up your scan to email and once that is done you could register those 2 printers and enable eprint and using that address you could scan an item from one and email it to the other and it will work using eprint.  I hope this helps

  • HP Photosmart 7520 scan to email not working / working only once in a while

I have read through all of the answers that I can find as to how to fix the scan to email function on my printer.  The printer is only a couple of months old.  I am using a Mac.  I need this to work.  The problem is that while I always receive the emails, they don't always have the scan attached to them.  Sometimes, but not always.
When I scan one page, it works.  When I scan 10 pages, it works about half the time.  When I scan 25 pages, as I sometimes do, it doesnt' work.
HP, please fix this !  It worked just fine a couple of weeks ago!
    Machta

    Hi Machta,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I see that your scan to email feature of your Photosmart 7520 seems to be inconsistent when attaching the scanned documents to the email.
Please start by assigning a manual IP address and manual DNS servers to your printer.  If you are unsure how to do this please click here.  It will take you to another post I’ve done that has the steps with screen shots.  Don’t fret that the screen shots are for a Photosmart  7510 printer, the steps are the same.
If you have already set the manual IP address and manual DNS servers, then please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • Laserjet 500 MFP Scan to email stopped working

    Hi,
We have three LJ500 M575's, which we have been using for around 10 months with no issues.
All three devices use the same Exchange User.
This week we started to get SMTP Protocol Errors when sending scan to email, I have checked the Log and the error is 44.10.01 SMTP Protocol Error.
I ran through the setup wizard and left the details the same, at the end I sent a test email, and this is fine, I have sent these internal and external to the company, and each time the test email is delivered.
When I then go back to scan I get the same 44.10.01 error. I have changed the username and ran the same test, with the same results, I am able to send the setup test email, but when I go to scan I get the same 44.10.01 This is the same across all three devices.
I have flashed one of the devices with Firmware 2304061_439478, but this has had no effect.
I cannot see any errors on the Exchange side.
    Any ideas anyone?

  • Laserjet pro 200 color mfp m276nw Scan to Email issue

My laserjet pro 200 color mfp m276nw claims email is not set-up.  I have entered in the e-mail addresses to send the scans to, but it still claims it is not setup.  How do I setup this feature? I already have the "Send an Email" feature working where it sends the scan "from" my e-mail, but I want to use the Address Book feature and just send to a specific e-mail.

    HI @Username57 ,
I see by your post that you what to setup the scan to email on the printer. I would like to help you out with this issue today.
I have provided a document for How to Scan: From the Control Panel. Select Scan to an email.
If you are still having issues then go into the printer's Embedded Web Server by typing in the printer's IP address in your web browser and setup a Static IP and set the DNS address.
Click the Network tab, then click on IP4 config on the left side.
    Click on Network Address (IP)
    Select Manual.
Type in the printer's information and IP address.
Set the DNS Address Configuration as Manual. Under Network Information, it looks like you can change the settings there.
Set the preferred address as 8.8.8.8
Set the Alternate address as 8.8.4.4 and confirm the changes.
    Try setting it up again.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.

  • HP LaserJet 400 MFP M425dw setting up scanning to email

    Hello,
I want to set up the Scan to email option on our printers however our emails are made through an exchange environment, and I don't see an option about sending scanned emails from an exchange email account. I'm not too sure what port I would need if we have exchange accounts.

    Hi,
The Laserjet 400 M425dw only support scanning to an email account by using SMTP server.
If your exchange account does not support SMTP, you will not be able to use the specific feature, I would suggest contacting your IT and check for the SMTP server details, if an SMTP server is not available you will need to use a differnt email account which use an SMTP server.

Hello FreckleFace, welcome to the forums
I read your post and from my understanding, you are unable to scan to email. I would like to know some more information about the problem and we will troubleshoot from there.
    Please let me know:
What printer(s) are installed on the computer?
How is the printer connected (USB/ wireless/ wired/ Bluetooth)? Have you tried an alternate connection (if not, please try and include the results)?
What is the Operating System of the computer?
Have you tested hardware functionality (copy and test print, power)?
What Firewalls and Anti-virus software are installed? Have you tried disabling or uninstalling them?
Did any changes occur on the computer around the time when the issue started?
Have you tried power cycling the entire network, and disconnect and reconnecting any connections?
Have you tried scanning from the printers control panel and the printers software from the computer?
Are you seeing any error messages on the printer or PC?

  • Can't 'Scan to Email' on USB connected printer to AE (Bridge mode)

Can't 'Scan to Email' on USB connected printer to 2nd AE (in Bridge mode extending wireless network).
    Prints fine though.
Printer is set to static IP adress (192.168.0.50).
Upstream Router is: 192.168.0.1 (this is connected to first AE).
When the printer was previously attached (by ethernet cable) to 1st AE, everything was working fine and I could login to printer Admin page via Safari by tying IP Address.

Only the print function is supported when a multi-function device is connected to the USB port on an AirPort router.
Advanced features like scan, copy, maintenance, etc are not supported at the USB port.

  • Can scan to email but cannot scan to computer using 6830 and OS Yosemite

I just purchased 6830  to use with my imac with Yosemite.  I am able to scan to email but I am not able to scan to computer.  I have installed the latest driver .  I followed directions to access HP utility and there was no way to get to scan preferences.  Any ideas how to scan to computer.  I keep getting message to open up the utility which does not get may anywhere.

    Hi @pfgoodman1,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you can scan to email but cannot scan to computer using your HP Officejet 6830 and OS Yosemite. I am sorry to hear this but I am happy to help!
First, I would make sure that the full feature software and driver is installed and not just the basic software.
Then I would recommend the following guides:
Scan From the Control Panel (Including Scan to Email, to a PDF, and to a Memory Device) for HP Offic.... (Select Scanning a photo (.jpeg) or document (.pdf) to the computer.)
A 'No Computer Found' Message Displays for HP Officejet 6810 and HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One ....
    Hope this helps!

  • Eprinters can't "scan to email" - whats up with that?

    Hi,
I just read this thread: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/scanning-to-e-mail/m-p/302534
And it seems that all of the new eprinters can not scan to email. If this is true, I find this mind boggling.
I am trying to understand the reasoning of HP product marketing/managment here. They wanted to build a printer  that is so independent that it doesn't need to be physically connected to any device - _except_ when someone wants to scan something? Does that make sense?
Technically speaking they probably have some email (smtp) client built onto the printer, so setting up an email gateway, and sending email shouldn't be that much work. The only thing I can think of (or hope for) is that "scan to email" didn't make the cut in the first release and will be added to future eprinters.
Maybe someone here can help me understand HP's thought process.
    tia,
    rouble

    Hi roubles19,
If my understanding on the feature that you mention is correct, scan to email is actually a feature that is currently available for the Officejet product range. The new ePrint lineup for Officejet do support scan to email but the implementation are just slightly different.
For HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus and HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium, if the printer is network connected, there is a feature called HP Direct Digital Filing. User needs configure the email settings such as email address, smtp server setting and etc  sueccesfully and the user will be able to perform scan to email.
    Thank you.

  • Can't scan to email on my hp 7520

    Hello,
I can print wirelessly but whenever I try to scan a doc to my email it reads unable to connect to web services, confirm internet access and try again.  Please help!  Everything seems fine except that

    Hi Nick3404,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I gather that you are getting an unable to connect message for your web services which is preventing you from using the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 7520 printer.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for your printer. I have included a link to another post I did with the steps (and screen shots) on how to do this.  Please don’t worry that the screen shots are for a Photosmart 7510 printer, but the steps are the same (and other than the name of the printer the screens look the same).
