Scan to Email doesn't work

Hi
I've just bought a Scanjet G3110 which I've installed on a Dell T1700 PC runing Windows 7 64 bit.
The Scan to Email button doesn't work, it just prompts me to save the scan to a file, this is not what I expected.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how I can get this to work as described?

I see you are experiencing scan to email issues.  I would like to help!
I would recommend performing a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also suggest this document on Scan to e-mail.

  • HP Photosmart 6520 Server Connection Error: -1: Apps don't work and Scan to email doesn't work

    My HP PhotoSmart 6520 has a persistent error to connect to the server and therefore Apps and Scan to email doesn't work.
    I have manually set DNS to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4, I have installed latest driver on my Macbook pro, I have updated firmware, but still not working. Weird is also that in my ePrintCenter, the Apps I see there are not in line with thos visible on the printer.
    Detail is that I have set up the printer on a Windows PC but recently changed to Mac.
    Printing, scan to Computer all works fine.
    Help! I have read a lot on forums but so far no solution for me!

    Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are unable to connect to the apps and use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 6520 printer due to a server connection error.
    First off, thank you for the very detailed information, I really appreciate it.
    To better assist you, would you please provide some additional information:
    When you set the manual DNS servers, did you also set a manual IP address for the printer?
    Have you changed routers or internet service providers recently?  Have you updated the firmware on the router? If you have an ISP-provided router, do you know if they pushed out a firmware update?
    Have you recently installed any new anti-virus/malware software?  If so it may have blocked the ports the printer uses to communicate.  I’ve included a post by VisionAiry titled “Check the Anti-Virus for Blocked Ports and Timed Scans”. 
    Do you have a guest network setup? Please Print a Network Configuration page. It will let you know how many networks the printer sees. A guest network will have the same name as your network with a tag about it being the guest network.
    Previously did you customize the printer’s ePrint email address? I’m asking this because I might ask you to disable then enable the web services.  If we have to take this step you will lose the customized ePrint email address without any ability to get it back.
    What version of Mac OS X are you using? whatsmyos.com
    Are there any cables other than the power cable connected to the printer?

    Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are unable to use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 6520 printer.
    For the scanning to your iMac and why you aren’t seeing the document, would you please let me know what version of Mac OS X that you are using (whatsmyos.com)?
    For scan to email to work you need to have enabled the web services on your printer and claimed your printer in a HP Connected or HP ePrintCenter account.  Are you being prompted for your password or the 4-digit pin code that is sent to your personal email to activate the scan the scan to email feature?
    I’m curious as to why you would like to uninstall and then reinstall the scan to email feature? The scan to email feature on this printer cannot be uninstalled and reinstalled.  If you have accidentally entered an incorrect email address, please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • On my IPad email doesn't work anymore. I can't receive or send mails anymore.

    My IPad, 18 GB, ioS 8.02
    I don't know why, but all of a sudden my email doesn't work at all anymore. I can't send or receive mails. When I push the icon mail button, I see only a blank page. I see only the first line for answering, forwarding or writing new mails. But if I try to push one of those buttons, nothing happens.
    My IPad knowledge is not so good. So I didn't try anything to repare it.

    Consider updating iOS to 8.2
    Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
    Delete and re-add the email account.

    I upgraded to Yosemite and now my outgoing email doesn't work.  What should I do?

    Try removing the email account in Mail's preferences. Then re-configure a new account with the correct information. Be sure you know what that information needs to be for your account.
    You can also just check your outgoing mail setup and be sure it's correct.

  • Scan to email does not work

    Hello.
    I am having some issues with my HP LaserJet pro 200 Colour MFP m276n
    It is very odd, Basically I can scan to email with a @outlook or @gmail address
    But when I use a company email like [email protected] It will not work. It works on every other email provider except ours.
    I have contacted the hoster and they cannot find any issues. I have used all setup wizards and followed all instructions to the letter.
    It is not a problem with our emails because we have another printer on the same email address and settings in another room and it works completly fine.
    When I test the email on the Admin Page it tests successfully. But When I  scan to email on the printer it does not work.
    any help with this would be great, I have ran out of ideas.

    I understand the scan to email won't scan to a email with the .co.uk extension.
    I will be happy to help you.
    I would set the scan to email again by running the wizard to see if that will resolve the issue.

    If following the guidelines from this document doesn't work then I would recommend to call HP phone support in your country.

  • Hyperlink to message in Alret email doesn't work

    In our dev environment, the hyperlink in the alert email for message in RWB doesn't works by clicking, although the copy pasting the link in IE takes me to correct message in RWB.
    When i noticed, the message id is not part of hyperlink. Can any one suggest how to fix it so that message id also becomes part of hyperlink.

  • Mobile me email doesn't work for Find My IPhone app

    I've had an apple ID for years but never had an email address with me.com and my [email protected] doesn't work. In the settings for the mobile setup on my iPhone 4 it says it has to have me.com at the end.
    I dont know if i need to get an email setup or what.

    I figured a way round...
    It took me a while, but in the main apple id website just change your apple ID so it's the same ad the email you've set to receive emails to.
    Thats it.
    Instead of having the original 5 character apple ID I now have a really long email, which is a pAin.
    Anyway, it's done now.
    One question though, does anyone know the site you go to if you actually lose your phone to find it? Can't find it anywhere. Googled and googled and just kept going to the mobile me sign up page.
    Lame.

    firefox 26 doesn't work with comcast email. won't keep me signed in; won't show whole inbox in either full or lite; won't allow me to get to preferences; drop downs only work with arrows. I could just keep going.
    Earlier this week they worked fine.

    Be sure to delete the login.comcast.net cookie, it is not near the other comcast and xfinity cookies.

  • Email doesn't work when traveling....

    When at home or in range of my internet provider (e.g. at the local airport where they provide the internet access) I can use my email (entourage to send and receive messages no problem) with my wireless connection. When traveling, it only works if I am hooked up with an ethernet cable. Wireless gets me access to the internet and to downloading messages, but I can't send email messages. Please help. I get a huge backload of outgoing messages after a plane ride that I would love to be able to send.
    BTW- Doesn't work with any of my emails, which have different SMTP servers.

    Hi Dayna,
    It's probably because your smtp servers don't allow open relaying from other networks.
    download postfix enabler ( http://www.cutedgesystems.com/software/PostfixEnabler/ ) it shoud let you send emails out. postfix is the onboard smtp server in OSX, but it's turned off by default.
    you will have to add a new smtp server to your email client as 127.0.0.1 or "localhost"

    Frontier states nothing wrong..
    Iphone 5 4gs/ipad...nothing works on the internet.. but will work on 4g...
    Connection status: Icloud IMAP could not connect..

    Means your ISP or your router blocks ports used by icloud mail. You can find those in that article

  • I'm hooked up to the ethernet using DHCP with manual address. It's running (green) but my internet (Safari, messenger, email) doesn't work! Help!

    I'm running an iMac with Mountain Lion. Not only do we do accounting work on this computer with AccountEdge, but the computer functions as a server to another computer in a different state.
    Anyway, I set a static IP address (Using DHCP with manual address) on it (to allow for a VPN to the computer in the different state) and it is connected (green dot) - meaning that the other computer in the different state can connect to us via that ethernet line - but for some reason Safari, Messanger, and Apple Email won't work.
    But if I switch a dynamic IP (DHCP auto), I can use the internet (Safari, messanger, email), but the computer in the different state can't connect to this computer.
    How can I fix this so that the computer in the different state can connect to this computer and that the internet (Safari, messanger, and email) can work at the same time?

    No but if they are using a VPN Tunnel for the connection that restricts all internet traffic over the tunnel. Which means you can't use that same computer to broswe the internet or connect to other computers or devices on your LAN.
    I'd need to see the actual setup, router and the IP addresses you are using.
    Networking and remote networking is fairly easy when you are in front of the systems you are working on. Doing it over the internet on a forum is almost impossible. Tha is why I suggested you get local help, like the person that originally set it up.
