Scan to email tiff files cannot be viewed on IOS devices

Hi,
Anyone experienced issues to open attached Tiff files from email scanned from MFP's to IOS mobile devices?

You can't play a Flex web app without Flash.  If it were an air app, you could package it for iOS and install it to your phone, but that's about all that is possible.
Now that Steve Jobs has resigned, you may want to try your hand at calling Apple and demanding they allow you to install Flash.  Who knows?

    Hi Acrobat.com,
"This file cannot be viewed on mobile devices."
I'm wondering why some of my files online aren't "viewable" with an iPhone (3Gs) and other files are readable.
I noticed that files created (New) on Acrobat.com will not be displayed on the iPhone
while files created on the workstation (Apple) work fine (on both platforms).
    Please, please, please, help me.
PS: I searched the forum for an answer or similar post,
without success. May be I din't use the right keywords ; - )

    Hi there,
Thanks for posting; I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the Acrobat.com mobile app. The error message that you're seeing (thanks for the screenshot here, very helpful) indicates that the file you're trying to open is not a PDF; the message will appear when you try to open a Buzzword document, for example, or some other filetype that can't be previewed on the iPhone app. We're doing our best to improve the quality of our mobile app, so keep the feedback coming - you can help us by suggesting your ideas for improvements or enhancements at our Ideas site:

We get a lot of our inspiration from the ideas that users post there, so I encourage you to participate.
Please let me know if you need any more information or assistance.

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.

  • Lumia 930, video cannot be viewed on this device

    Re: Lumia 930
    Dear Sir/Madam,
I have signed up for an expensive contract for above metioned phone couple of days ago,  I am very disapointed now that I cannot watch NINEMSN site videos! and I get message " We're sorry, the video you are loking for cannot be viewed on this device"  I need to use the phone mostly for this purpose only, if I can't use it then it will be useless and rest of my family members using iphone and android phone and they are able to view all videos from NINEMSN site.
Can I please have a resolution for this issue ASAP?
    Thank you
    vckumar

Good day, vckumar. Welcome to the Microsoft Mobile Community! Are you able to view videos from other websites aside from ninemsn? I supposed you're using the phone's Internet Explorer app to access this site, right? Does this happen whether you're using the desktop or mobile version of the browser which can be changed under Settings > swipe to applications > Internet Explorer > Website preference? Does the phone require anything that needs to be installed on it for you to be able to watch videos from ninemsn like Flash player? Note that Lumia devices don't support Flash player. Instead, they use HTML5 when playing web media files.
You can also check if there are apps in the Store that will allow you to play videos from ninemsn. Click here: WP - ninemsn.
    We'll wait for your feedback.

  • Numbers file created w new version of Numbers on my mac and then transferred  via Dropbox to my ipad: file cannot be opened by iOS version of Numbers

Numbers file created w new version of Numbers on my mac and then transferred  via Dropbox to my ipad: file cannot be opened by iOS version of Numbers

    Hi Jocomo,
That's correct. Dropbox does not handle Numbers 3.0 for Mac and Numbers 2.0 for iOS documents well at all. They will probably fix this.
But why are you using Dropbox for this?  Numbers has built-in iCloud integration for the very purpose of syncing documents back and forth.  It's much easier than using Dropbox even if Dropbox could handle the new Numbers format.  And it's now quite reliable.
To enable iCloud with Numbers on your Mac:
In System Preferences>iCloud make sure you have Documents & Data turned on:
And after clicking Options, make sure you have checked Numbers.app:
On your iPad you need to make sure iCloud sync is turned on in TWO places:
      Settings>iCloud>Documents & Data>Numbers
      Settings>Numbers>Use iCloud
If you have entered the right iCloud credentials on your Mac and iPad, Numbers will then sync back and forth. It's much easier than putting in Dropbox and then having to Open in... , etc.  You can of course still keep backup copies of your documents in Dropbox if you want.

  • Why is my Air application taking so long to show the first view on iOS devices?

I built an Air application that runs on Android devices and iOS devices. The application uses Air 3.4 and Flex SDK 4.6. On my Android device, the application starts in 5 seconds. On my iPad device, the application starts in 90 seconds.
My application has a splash screen, which is launched via the ViewNavigatorApplication property, splashScreenImage.
The application was built in release mode and the SWF file is 1.384M. After I create the ad-hoc build, which includes the Air Captive Runtime, I see the following file sizes and startup times.
    iPad 2 - ipa size, 8.6M
12 seconds of black screen. Then my splash screen appears. 80+ seconds of splash screen. Then my first view appears.
    Android Nexus 7 - apk size, 4.0M
2.5 seconds of black screen. Then my splash screen appears. 2.5 seconds of splash screen. Then my first view appears.
Here are more details about my app.
It's a video conferencing app. So I have to set renderMode to "cpu". The app has 5 views and several popups. The popups use the SkinnablePopupContainer. The app uses dependency injection as provided by the Parsley framework to share two small data objects between the views. The app uses web service calls to manage the conference state.
The problem occurs at startup. I haven't rendered a view with video logic, and the first view is a welcome page with a scrollable text area for terms and conditions, one button with an icon, one toggle button, and one hyperlink button.
The app has about 400k of embedded images which are rendered using the MultiDPIBitmapSource.
The app has 43.3K of icons for the various sizes as specified in the application xml file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I figured out how to resolve the issue. I had to change the renderMode from "cpu" to "direct". That solved the problem, and the application performs perfectly. Even the video displays work ok. It's interesting that Adobe advises against using "gpu" or "direct" renderMode when displaying video. I need to figure out why and make sure the application is acceptable as is.
I have more testing to conduct, but I'm very encouraged.

  • Word and Pages-files cannot be viewed on iPhone

I have experienced that I cannot upload a word-file (.doc) or Pages 09 and view it on my iphone. i have tried both mail and air sharing neither work. iPhone knows the type of doc, so that's not the problem. Any hints or is it due to the new software?

Before finding this thread, I posted a similar inquiry over on a related thread
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8987900#8987900
In it, there is a suggestion to save documents in Pages '09 using the old Package format rather than the new monolithic file format. I tested it on my iPhone and the document DOES display that way. The problem is I don't know an easy way to convert from monolithic files to Packages, nor am I sure that it's a good idea other than enabling iPhones to see the document. I'm hoping iPhone software updates fix the problem.

  • PDF file cannot be viewed from OA Framework page.

    Hi all,
I have developed an OA Framework page which shall present an XMLP report in pdf within the browser.
When I click on my menu item which opens the oa page, the Open file.. diaglog appears. When I open or save the file (and thereafter opening if) the following error appears: _Acrobat could not open [filename] because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged._
I can open the file if I go to the server and copies the output file to my own machine.
The error that i'm describing is happening on the server and NOT in my development environment. I cannot get it to work at all on my own machine.

  • WVC80N - AVI recorded files cannot be viewed in Quicktime or Windows Media Player

I have tried on two seperate PCs and the AVI files will not load. I have inspected the AVI files to be ISO MPEG-4 Video V1 standard and therefore should be able to be played by Windows Media Player and Quicktime but they both complain they cannot be played. Anyone else ran into this? I should have the specific codecs by default. The error message from quicktime is that there is required software needed to play this file and I get redirected to a generic page of possible plug ins. Windows Media player gives me a generic error with a link to some random troubleshooting steps that dont apply.
As a side note Nero Showtime can open the file and play it...

To Download VLC Software, Go to http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and download and Install the VLC Media Player on your computer. Once the Installation is completed then you will be able to play the Video Files using VLC Player.

  • Multiple files cannot be viewed

    Hi
User copied in files using Windows Explorer to a sharepoint library.  Some weeks later they cannot be seen.  I am the administrator and cannot see them either.  I have checked logs and the file names do not appear in the logs.

We can see the files as soon as they are uploaded.  The library only has one user with permissions.  It seems to happen all by itself some days later.  There is NOTHING in the audit trail, and they are certainly not in the recycle bin.  Was
told that running Office 2010 on any of our connected computers might cause this.  We are not using 2010, everyone is 2013.

I suddenly get this message when I try to open image attachments from my email. JPG, GIF, any image attachments. I have have no problem doing this up until today. I'm at a loss as to why this suddenly happened. I've pulled the battery several times. Made sure that the attachment service is listed in my core apps, it is. Can anyone else be of assistance?

OK...be sure to do them in order though...they are steps, each depending on the success of the prior step...steps 1 and 2 MUST result in some message coming to your BB...if they do not, then proceeding is irrelevant as that step did not succeed.

I get a list of dozens of different CDMA lines with numbers. Only one is bolded. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do here. There is nothing about registering on any of the menus on this screen.
Yes, there are dozens of lines there...and it does not matter which you have highlighted in the list. Just press the key and select "Register Now". Are you saying that "Register Now" is not an option in the menu that pops up from the key? That would be very odd indeed...

  • Receiving email on iMac and MacBook, but not iOS devices?

Not sure why this is happening, but I'm not getting all emails on iPhones and iPads. I've had several emails addressed to my me.com address that show up on my iMac and MacBook, but never show up on our iPhones or iPads. This applies only to my me.com stuff. Even an iTunes marketing email doesn't show up on my iPhone.
I just transitioned to iCould last week and that's when it started. All devices were converted to iCloud and the iMac and MacBook are set up as IMAP accounts.
    Any ideas?

I finally figured this out. I use SpamSieve and when it's identifies something as Spam, it moves the email into a local folder and removes it from the cloud. The solution (in SpamSieve's documentation) was to create a new mailbox in iCloud and change the rule to move the messages there so that you can see any mis-identified on the iPhone.

  • Files not being shared across IoS devices

Why are my files on my iPad not shared with my iPhone?

Well, in the future, it may be possible using Apple's iCloud which allows documents to be shared between devices. Currently, that only works with a few Apple applications (e.g., Pages, Numbers and Keynote).
It would work for non-Apple applications if (1) Apple made iCloud-linking features available to non-Apple applications, and (2) if Adobe decided to implement such a feature.

  • Image files created by CS6 not viewable in iOS devices

    Hello,
This is kind of a strange one.
I'll start off with what I am running:
My computer - Late 2013 MacBook Pro (Retina) running Yosemite (10.10.1)
    My Photoshop - CS6 (13.0.6 x64)
    And now the issues:
I am not able to view any emailed image files, on any of my iOS devices (using the default mail app) that were created by CS6 on my laptop.
As a test, I had someone in my office create a .jpg using their Photoshop, had them email it to me, and I was able to view it on my iPhone using the default mail app.
So, something in particular with my installed version of CS6 is doing something strange when outputting files that are making them not viewable by the default iOS mail app.
I work in film, and often have to email images to clients (which many of them are using iPhones), so having the images not viewable is a big issue for me.
Has anyone experience anything like this, or perhaps know what may be causing this?
Thanks so much for your input,
    Greg

This has somewhat been resolved.  This is actually an Outlook issue, Outlook is doing something strange to the image file when emailing that is causing the problem.
    Ugh, sorry for the post.
