Scan using estation photosmart

When I start to scan using the printer Estation all in one photosmart it directs me to start software on computer that came with it... What software is it speaking of?  Also how do you scan docs using the scanner to be able to open the scanned item on the computer ex. I am trying to scan transcripts it is only allowing me to scan them through windows photo gallery then they are jpeg files..I need them in pdf format.... Help please!

I hope you are doing well and welcome to the forum;
This is the software that came with the printer you can download form here GO HERE (Dowloading  in my personal experience and modest opinon is better than using  the CD that came with the printer due to the fact that the dowload will include latest changes to the software) updates.
You can use the cd as well.
Here you have eReader that should provide that capability for you.  another alternative is to use a 3rd party PDF solution  Can not recomemded any but a quick google search with the word "review" will provide you alternatives and with user reviews. and you can also use software such as MS office open the Jpeg there as save as PDF.
This is the manual of your printer in case you don't have it http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02555102.pdf

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @lilypants ,
I understand you have upgraded to Mavericks and are no longer able to scan, using your Photosmart 5510. I have some suggestions for you below, that might help.
Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system
    Repair disk permissions
    Restart the Mac
Install the Full Feature driver: HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers
In addition, download this driver: HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X
Now try scanning and it should work

  • Scans using the Printer/Scanner utility in MAC OS 10.9 disappear.

    Hello,
I am having new issues with scanning documents on my HP Photosmart Premium Series C309 All-in-One printer/scanner.
I have been able to successfully scan and save documents, but just recently, something happened. It appears the scanner is successfully scanning the documents, and I am able to inpput my "save to" information, but the documents are now disappearing into cyber space.
I am operating wirelessly via a Mac Book Pro with OS 10.9 (I believe).
Can someone guide me to what is going wrong and what to do about it please? I've tried using the utilities and help available online and in my computer
    Thanks,
    Spirit Dancer

    Hi Spirit Dancer,
You may scan using Image Capture or Preview, the HP Scan application for your printer is not intended for Mavericks and such save issues are expected.
Follow the workaround below to scan from your printer to Mac OS X 10.9:

  • Using a Photosmart Premiere C309a with an Ipad.

I use an Photosmart Premiere C309a with Windows 7. I have just purchased an Ipad. This needs "Air Print" which my printer does not support, so I guess I will need to purchase a new one.
I need an all in one with WiFi, Bluetooth,  borderless A4 photo printing, scanning, faxing, Air Print and the ability to print on Blu-Ray/DVD/CDs.
It seems that HP have dropped the function to print on disks.
    Any ideas?

  • Firefox keeps crashing and closing after I've used HP Photosmart software

As title. I'm using Firefox 35.0.1 but the last few versions of FF have done this too.
After I've done any scanning with HP Photosmart scanning software Firefox keeps closing with a send-error-report box if I switch to a different tab or scroll up or down with the mousewheel. It does this almost immediately every time I restart FF and the problem is only solved by rebooting my laptop.
I updated all my drivers including nVidia drivers about ten days ago but it hasn't made a difference and tbh it doesn't seem like a graphics error to me anyway. This problem has gone on for several versions of FF now and I don't really have time to reboot my laptop every time I use my printer :( Maybe it is down to the HP software, but Chrome, Opera and IE don't have this issue, only FF, and using other browsers only serves to remind me how much I really prefer FF over all the others LOL x

  • I can no longer scan using HP d110 after Mavericks

I have tried so many work-arounds to fix this issue!  I've read countless threads, deleted and re-installed drivers (although according to mac and hp, this wasn't necessary), I've tried scanning using the Print/Scan utility, Image Capture, Preview and Webscan and NOTHING works.  The scan begins (so I know that the printer and communicating) but then I get an error message that says "An error occurred while communicating with the scanner."
My printer works fine.  But scan - which worked just fine before installing Mavericks - no longer works.  Help!

    Hi urbanfitchick,
I understand that you are getting a scan error. I will do my best to help you resolve this issue in Mavericks. I suggest trying to do a copy from the printer, this is to establish that the scan function is working properly on the printer. If you cannot do a copy then there is a problem with the scanner hardware and we will have to address that issue first.  If there is no problems doing the copy then I recommend that you power cycle the network.
    How to power cycle network
Follow these steps to reset your HP printer, your wireless router, and your computer.
1.Press the Power button on the HP printer to turn it off.
2.Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the HP printer.
3.Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
    4.Turn off the computer.
    5.Wait 30 seconds.
6.Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
7.Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready.
    8.Turn the computer back on.
9.Wait for the computer to reload.
10.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the HP printer.
    11.Turn the printer back on.
    Then reset the Printing System
Resetting the Printing System in Mac
Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print
Hold down the Option key while clicking the "-" (Remove printer) button.
If no printers are currently added, hold down the Control key while clicking in the box that appears above the "+" (Add printer) button, then choose Reset printing system… from the contextual menu

  • Would like to scan using older scanner

    Hello to the Mac family,
Once again I am stuck. I have been a very longtime user of 9.2. I really loved it. Well my slot load 350 finally died. I bought a new I-mac running X.5.2.
I have an old Epson perfection 636U scanner. I would love to be able to scan into Photoshop with this scanner. Money is now really tight so I need to be able to get this to work if possible.
I must say I wish my old apps like "Sound Jam, Pagemaker etc. worked on this new computer.
I went to the Epson site and see that the drivers are for 8.6 to 9.2. I figured these won't work on X.
There must be some sort of generic Twain driver or something that will let me scan.
This is where I need gentle help. If there is a way to scan using this could someone please advise.
Also please remember that I am a total newbie to X. In 9.2 I could download and install to the P.S. prefs folder or put the driver into import/export folder. I knew how to do all that but on X I am having trouble just doing little things like finding my music.
I really would appreciate it if someone could offer step by step help. The scanner is old but it works great. I know I won't have my OCR software etc. I just need to be able to scan pixs to PS.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.......mGb,,,..,,,,,,,,,Jim

    Hello Dennis,
First...thanks for the help. I followed your suggestion and I thinkI did it right.
I tried to use the scanner but it doesn't see a scanner. When I go into Photoshop or Imageready, I can select the Twain drivers that are listed from the download. I see 5 drivers and have selected each one. When I select the 640 and try to import it says no device. I did this with all 5 and still no luck.
I rechecked all my connections and have the scanner plugged directly to the computer (no hub).
It really seemed like it would work. Prior to this I had no Twain devices listed.
Do you have any other ideas. I really need to scan and my wife will never OK the purchase of a new scanner. The computer was a large investment for us. It seems as though I should be able to get this scanner to work. I am 100% certain the scanner is good.
As far as the new OS, I am pretty sure in time I will love it. For now it is hard to navigate. In 9.2 I used the exten manager quite a bit. I could trash prefs when having trouble, I knew where most everything was located on the HD. It is just going to be a change and I am not real good with change. Kinda like an old pair of boots, you get to love them......
If you have any other ideas I would really appreciate it, as my wife has several pixs she wants me to scan. These are of recently deceased family members so this is important.....Thanks......mGb.....Jim

  • Can't scan using front panel of HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

I can't scan using front panel or laptop.  I can't find the set up disc that came with the printer that I purchased almost 2 years ago.

Hello @Pierre1 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are having issues scanning. I'd like to help!
I'd recommend starting with a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Can't Scan to HP Photosmart C5180, but can print to it.  Why?

How do I get my HP C5180 all in one to be an all in one printer on Leopard? I can print to it, but it says there is a communication error when I try to Scan using HP Scan Pro software. Anyone have a fix for this on my new Aluminum Intel iMac?

    Hi Applemac
I have exactly the same problem at times. The only thing I have found that works is to uninstall the Drivers and software completely then reinstall the latest from HPs website:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-55010-3 &lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1153481&os=219&lang=en
Also run Software update from the Apple menu to make sure that you have the latest updates installed, I have experienced this less after a few recent updates.
Also you cannot scan from the C5180 (USB or network) if you have it connected to another computer and are accessing it over a local network as a shared device. It will only scan when it is connected to a router via the network cable.
    Hope this helps

  • Scanning using LaserJet Pro M1217 nfw MFP

Product: HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP
    Mac OSX - Mountain Lion
I would like to scan using this printer. I can not find a reliable method. Any suggestion?

I just figured this out!!  So happy!!  I am using Windows, so not sure if this will help you MAC users (hoping to be one soon, haha).  Here are the instructions I followed:
Place the document to be scanned either in the feeder or on the flatbed glass
    Click Start
Click Programs (or All Programs depending on software)
Click HP and select your product (in this case, HP Color LaserJetPro MFP M177 fw)
Click HP Scan, select a scanning shortcut (e.g.: save as PDF), adjust settings as desired
    Click Scan
And voila!  You will have your scanned document saved on your computer for emailing, etc.

  • When I scan using an HP ScanJet 8390 using Twain Driver in Acrobat 9

When I scan using an HP ScanJet 8390 using the Twain driver the scanned image comes in wrong.
    Please see images.
HP 8390 using the Twain driver gives me this result.
HP 8390 using the NON Twain driver gives me the right size page.  How come the Twain driver does not?  It worked fine in Adobe 8.

    Hi,
The 3210 model only supports 35mm negatives, it does not support any larger negatives.
You may find its Scan Specifications listed below:
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00408357
Also the 3970 only support 35mm negative scanning, tiy may find its Transparent Materials Adapter (TMA) specifications listed below:
    http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c00005741
I afraid that 110mm negatives are not supported by any of the scanners.
