Scaning with a HP Officejet 7610

I am trying to scan a picture that is 12" X 14" and each time it scans at legal size.  I can't qutie figure out how to correct this error when the scanner can take a much large size.  Can anyone help me please?

Welcome to the forums singac
I noticed that you are looking to scan 12x14 however, the scanning size is legal. You will have to select the scan size in the scanning software before scanning to inform the printer the size you wish to scan as. I took a screen shot to use as an example.
Have a great day

  • ADF Not Working HP Officejet 7610

When trying to scan or copy multiple pages it only signals the glass to copy or scan.
Went through all troubleshooting found here
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01728503&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=id&dlc=en&lc...
It does the make the beep noise so it's reading that the pages are loaded but still tries to scan from the glass.
Nothing worked. Still cannot scan or copy from the ADF.
This is a replacement printer to one that had an ink system error. I'd hate to have to call HP, go through all the steps I've already gone through twice, wait for a new printer and return the old one again.

    Hi @geno0010,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your ADF is not working with your HP Officejet 7610 printer. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
    Three more suggestions to try:
Make sure the printer's power cable is plugged directly into the wall outlet, and not a surge protector. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

  • Officejet 7610

Hi, this is my scenario: windows 7 home premium x64 with all patches 1: I'll try to install hp7610 e912 with wireless mode and it works2: After change from wireless to Cable , start the nightmare , the printer is detected but the setup cannot finalize the printer configuration. I have already cleanup registry, drivers, download drivers from website , open a tt with HP italy but they don't understand the pc and suggest to format and reinstall the pc ( impossible!!). Any idea? thank you for your time.

Welcome to the forums remo_1, I saw your post about the troubles you are having with installing your Officejet 7610 with a cable connection. I would be happy to help! I would like to ask you for some more information to get started and also give you some information. 1. Which cable are you wanting to use to install the printer? (Ethernet or USB)?2. If you are using a USB cable and have a desktop, are you plugging it into the front of your computer tower or back? (Must be plugged in the back of the PC tower).3. Before you start the installation, it is important to keep the USB cable unplugged until the installation asks you to connect the USB.4. I would like you to run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and let me know the results (run it once for printing and once for scanning).5. Try installing the printer by using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.  Hope to hear from you

  • Officejet 7610 wide format: can't scan legal documents to pdf

I am having a problem scanning legal documents from the ADF and/or off the glass.
only cropped letter size gets created.
I believe I am using newest model with the newest drivers.
Just purchased and installed drivers from the internet.
I need work-a-round or other fix.

There is no setting in the Front Panel to set to Legal. All paper size settings need to be done on the SW. I believe you have installed the overall SW.
Select HP Office 7610 series icon from pc desktop. Otherwise Click > Program > HP > HP Officejet 7610 series to open HP Printer Assistant.
    1. Select Set Preferences.
    2. Select Paper/Quality.
    3. Change Paper Size to Legal.
    4. Click OK to save setting.
Now by default the scan target will be scanned to Legal size. Take note by default if there is A4 or Letter siz paper and when setting is at legal, then these paper sizes will be scanned to legal sizes.
Alternatively if you do not want to set the default size to legal, then you can go to HP Printer Assistant. Select "Scan a document or Photo". Select the appropriate settings and do a SW scan.

  • Hp officejet 7610 scan result is blue stripes

i've been having problem with my officejet 7610 which in my case the scanning output for color scanning is all blue stripes and is unusable. Please help, cause i need to scan really important docs.. Thank u for ur help.

    Hey there @waskitoputro
    Welcome to the forums!
I read about the scanning quality issues you're having with your Officejet 7610 on Windows 8.1 and I would like to help.
Please try these few steps and get back to me with the results.
    Power reset the printer:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Check for a Firmware Update: Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
Test a copy from the front of the printer. Was there any issues?
Test a scan from the PC. What did the scan look like?
If there was an issue with the scan only, run the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.
    Hope to hear from you!

  • HP Officejet 7610 Software

    Hi,
I recently updated my printer to a brand new Officejet 7610. I connected it wirelesly through my Dlink Router. I have a couple of problems though.
    1. When printer is in sleep mode and I choose to print Windows 8.1 wont recognise it and say that is Offline. If i try to print through my android tablet it is OK when the printer is on the same state. When I restart the printer it starts printing immediately. The web interface of the printer is working prefectly while on the same time.
    2. Printer settings ar poor. Check the Image below.
I annot get the full features out of my Settings.
My Previous printer HP Officejet 8500 909 which btw was perfect in every aspect had a full feature printing dialoge allowing you to use every printer option.
How I can solve my problems? How I have a full feature printing dialog?

    Hello M_George,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand you have some concerns with the new printer, the Officejet 7610, not performing to its full ability. When you installed the printer on the Windows 8.1 computer, did you use the C.D that came with it?
Those two issues could be the result of the Windows Class Driver being used for the 7610 and not the Full Feature Driver. To check this, open Devices and Printers, right click the printer and then click Printer Properties. Click the Advanced tab and the you will be able to see the driver being used.
Running the Print and Scan Dr will test the software installed and let you know if the full feature software is installed. Also, if you run the Print and Scan Dr while it is unresponsive, it may point to a cause and help resolve it.

  • Officejet 7610 margins are too big on my Mac

I'm on my second OfficeJet 7610 Wide Format, because HP couldn't fix this problem the first time, so they assumed it was a hardware issue.  I don't think it is...
The default margins for this printer are as small as 0.13 inches (3.3mm) based on the specifications.  I use a Mac that runs Maverick.  I have no issue printing, only that I haven't found a way to reduce the margins down to the default dimensions above.  The top and bottom of my prints cut everything off smaller than 0.60 inches.  This is a real issue with PDFs, forcing me to chose the "shrink oversize pages" in order to not have the tops and bottoms cut off.  I should be able to print at "actual size".
How can I change these margin settings globally??  Making manual margin adjustments in programs like Word, still cut off the tops and bottoms for anything smaller than 0.60 inches.  Please help!!

What worked for me was selecting index card 8.5x11 on the mac print paper select options

  • OfficeJet 7610 driver needed for OS X 10.5.8

    Urgent help needed.
I purchased an OfficeJet 7610 without paying attention that it does not support OS X 10.5.8  Now I'm stuck with my computer not talking to the printer.  Is there any generic driver out there or any way that can help?  Thanks a ton!!

    Hi,
Try using an alternative driver and check ig that may help.
Download and install the HP Officejet 7500A which support B-Sizes printing as well:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-86352-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
If the installation prompts to select your device you should see a checkbox or a button that the device is not listed and complete the intsallation without configuring the device, I would also suggest selecting HP Recommeded Software wgile installing
Once you are done, ensure the printer is conencted to your Mac through a USB or through a network, go to Print & Fax and click the plus sign.
Select the listed 7610, within the Print Using drop-down click on Select Printer Sotware and select the 7500 E910 from the list.
Try printing and check if that may work.
For scanning, try opening the HP Scan under Applications > Hewlett-Packard and check if it may able to locate the 7610 sanner.
If it does not list the 7610 you may try the 3rd party VueScan software which seems to support the scanner and compatible with 10.5:

  • OfficeJet 7610 Ink Cartridges out of ink error can't be correct

I purchased an OfficeJet 7610 a few months ago. I have barely used the color ink. Recently I received a low ink error message for the colors. That made no sense to me, but then I realized that these are just "estimated" ink levels. I read that I will still be able to print until the cartridges have run out of ink. However, not long after that I received a message that the magenta needed to be replaced. This made no sense since I hadn't used it. Then I replaced it anyway and received errors right away for the Cyan and Yellow cartridges that they needed to be replaced too. When I clicked to ignore the yellow cartridge error message, it would no longer even let me print in black ink.
I am positive that these color cartridges that came with the printer were not out of ink. Yet, the printer forced me to replace them. I also am confused because from what I read in the help center, I should be able to continue to print in black ink only even if the color cartridge is saying it needs to be replaced. However, with the yellow one, that was not the case.

There are several cases where color ink would be used even if you are printing mostly black and white:
Some ink is used to keep the printheads from clogging as they are waved around in the air while printing black.
Color ink is typically used for printing graphics unless "Print in Grayscale" and "Black ink only" are selected.  The color drops are much smaller and give better print for graphics.
Ink is used from all colors when a new color cartridge is installed to remove air from the supply tubes.
Black ink is not used to print on photo paper.  The pigmented black ink is not compatible with photo paper, color ink will be used even when printing B&W on photo paper.
The document here described how ink is used.

  • HP Officejet 7610 randomly printing off center.

The header says it all, when printing one copy will be perfect, then the next comes out off center towards the right of page. Does it randomly whether printing one at a time or in multiples. Many more prints come out off center than not. Have updated firmware and drivers, still no luck. Printer is communicating wirelessly.

Hello , and welcome to the HP Community! I hope you have a pleasant experience with us.   I understand you are having an issue with off center printing on your HP Officejet 7610 Wide Format e-All-in-One printer. I'd love to help you with this. The first thing I would suggest, would be to make a multiple page copy on the printer itself. This will tell us if the issue is being cause by the printer hardware. If the copies print without issues, then I'd recommend making sure you have the most recent version of the HP software installed for your printer. You can download the software here - HP Officejet 7610 series Full Feature Software and Drivers If the copies are still off center, than we are most likely dealing with a hardware problem and I have a few suggestions. Please follow the steps in this document to check for jammed paper or obstructions in the paper path:A 'Carriage Jam' Message Displays for HP Officejet 7610 Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer Series (H912) I'd also recommend uninstalling and re-installing the ink cartridges. You should also try to align the printhead manually from the front panel of the printer:From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow (), and then touch Setup ().Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printhead.Wait while the printer aligns the printhead and then prints an alignment page. Please respond to let me know if we have resolved your issue!Have a fantastic day.

My 3 days old officejet 7610 is @unable to scan, copy or send faxes' I parted with almost £200 to buy this to prepare for a very important job inteview next week. having followed some dicussions, I am sure somebody out there will help me today.
I have spent all the 3 days without sleep trying to fix this but to no effect.
    thanks.

    Hi AndyKali11,
I understand you have an Officejet 7610 that is telling you it is currently unable to scan, copy or fax. I'm sorry to hear this and will do my best to assist you.
Essentially this error is telling you that the scanner itself itsn't functioning properly. I would suggest you start by following this A 'Scanner Failure' Message Displays on the All-in-One Control Panel and You Cannot Scan, Copy, or F... document and make sure to plug the printer directly to a wall outlet.
If this error persists I believe it may be a hardware defect inside the printer. In that case you can exchange the printer at the store, or contact HP Tech Support for your area and inquire about an in warranty replacement.
Hope this helps, have a great weekend!!
