Scanjet 4670 - work on Windows 8.1 x64

Hello,
I have found that, for the Scanjet 4670 scanner, the drivers for Vista x64 works very well with Windows 8.1 x64. So this scanner is not incompatible with Windows 8.1 x64. Just download the Vista x64 drivers from the HP website. I hope that this information is helpful to other users.

Sorry, I can't know what the exact problem was. Many things don't start in Windows Safe Mode, like third-party security software and included security tools like Windows Defender. You can use the following guide if you want to troubleshoot the issue. The "How to determine what is causing the problem by performing a clean boot" section is the relevant part.

Adobe Extension Manager CS5 wont work on Windows 7 Pro x64 only on XP Mode in Virtual PC

I am on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit operating system on HP ProBook 4720s with XPMode in Virtual PC activated
I run Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe as Admin and the log files has only 3 lines

I noticed that the drive d: doesn't exist on my computer; there was only Local Disk (C:) and HP_TOOLS (F:)

I have the same problem.
I installed Dreamweaver CS5 and Adobe Exchange Manager for CS5 too in my Lenovo 760p Windows 7 x64.
The extension not open and appear this errors in the log.

Remote desktop connection not working in windows 7 Pro x64 bit sp1 3389 port not working

i have still facing same problem in last two week in my system RDC not working . i have installed in my system windows 7 x64 bit Pro sp1 then i check 3389 port working or not in my system use the command netstat -a -o command in
command prompt but this is my bad luck its not woking in my machine after i have decide to change RDC listening port via registry i have change it 3389 to 3391 after restart my system, and
after again testing using same command but no any change again rdc not listening . After i have search this issue on search engine google bing and microsoft , i have found more solutions but i have try one
uninstalled two microsoft updates first is kb KB2621440 second is KB2667402 and after again restart my system and again installed KB 2667402 But not change i have already enabled Remote Desktop connection in windows 7 and select the option

Could the other PCs connect this PC with the RDC?

Did you reinstalled the KB2621440?
Besides, did you follow this guide to enable the RDC connection?

IDRAC6 racadm not working on Windows 2008 R2 x64 Server

We have Dell PowerEdge M910 on a M1000e Blade Chasis
iDRAC is Accessible via its Web Site and racadm -r works on different Server
But on the Actual Machine its giving me the Error of:
ERROR: RACADM is unable to process the requested subcommand because there is no
local RAC configuration to communicate with.
Local RACADM subcommand execution requires the following:
1. A Remote Access Controller (RAC) must be present on the managed server
2. Appropriate managed node software must be installed and running on the
server
Is there anyway to resolve this like Re-installation of Certain Software? or Anything that would make the racadm work when running on the server itself
Search Google and this Forums and this problem seem to be unique.
Lifecycle Controller Firmware is 1.6.5.12
Firmware Version is 3.60 (Build 3)
Operating System is Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, Enterprise x64 Edition

Since iDRAC is accessible via it IP Address I have done the following but NOT successfull.
racadm -r <IPAddress> -i racreset soft/hard (with and without -f flag)
Also Reset using the Blade Chasis iDRAC and Server's iDRAC
I dont think there is something wrong with the iDRAC, as this is accessible using the iDRAC Web GUI and command line interface with the "-r" flag.
The issue is running the racadm (without and -r) on the server itself and getting the error mentioned above
Is there a way to check the any Logs file and or is there any Windows Server Service's Component that is needed by racadm command in order for it to function when running locally?
BTW
OMSA is at 7.4.0.2
Lifecycle Controller Firmware is 1.6.5.12
Firmware Version is 3.60 (Build 3)

i have a network of some windows7 and some server 2008 r2 Terminal Services, There is
a hp 1022n printer . when i print locally from windows7 , the
print comes very smoothly but no printing from windows Server 2008 R2 via RDP. i had installed driver for hp
1022n + (windows 7 x64) on server 2008 r2 but it still doesnt print.
note there are other printer installed (via TCP/IP ,hp jetdirect printing) and they working finely on
server 2008r2.

Flash not working in Windows 8.1 x64 with Internet Explorer 11

I updated my Windows 8 to 8.1 and Flash has stopped working in IE11. Flash still works fine in Firefox. I have tried to use the patches available from Windows, but the patch won't install because "not applicable to your version".
The Flash verification page says "You're not running Internet Explorer in Windows 8". I have tried all the troubleshooting I can find, and no positive results as of yet. Thanks...

Please be aware that Flash player is embedded in Windows 8.1.

Skype stopped working on Windows 8.1 x64

Hello,
Today I tried to log in to Skype desktop but first the start screen froze for a few second than it couldn't log in and I needed kill skype from the Task Manager because I couldn't close it. So I downloaded the latest desktop version(6.22.81.105) and installed it, but still there are problems on the first start after update it couldn't log in so I closed skype and tried to start again and now it froze after the intro screen popped up this happend twice now Skype starts but is still wont log in. So I can't get it work, the funny thing is that 72hours ago it worked just fine, since than I installed only one software which is Hyper-V and I don't think that can interfere with Skype if its not running. I checked the firewall but both skype desktop and the metro app is allowed so thats not the problem.
Oh and of course metro app also can't start it never gets forder than the start screen where those dots are spinning.
So how can I fix this? Because I realy want to use Skype on my PC.
Before you ask I did no changes to my router, or anti virus software or any other sw and I didn't change any Windows settings (except as I wrote before I installed Hyper-V)

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

itunes has never supported XP 64-bit and never will. I don't want to argue whether that is fair or right, I'm just stating a fact.

USB Console (Serial) Driver fails to install on Windows 8.1 x64

The USB console cable driver v3.1 will not install on Windows 8.1 x64. Had a similar problem with Windows 7 x64 but this was fixed using Greg's (greggar25) excellent step-by-step procedure (see post: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11492306/usb-console-driver-install-failing).

I followed the same procedures I did for Windows 7 and the install goes without a hitch. Reboot and connect the USB cable, opened Device Manager and now I have a COM Port randomly appearing and disappearing with its number incrementing well above 1,000.
A few times while it appeared for a few seconds, I was able to right click on the properties, update the driver and chose Cisco Serial and it settled down but it did not assign a COM port. Then a few seconds later, it starts the disappearing/reappearing thing again.
Anyone have luck getting this to work with Windows 8.1 x64?

In Device Manager a new hardware category, CiscoUsbConsoleWindowsDriver, is displayed. It has two components: the Cisco Bus enumerator and the Cisco USB to Serial adapter. Expanding the Ports hardware category shows a new Cisco Serial port.

1) Install the usb console driver\windows 64\setup(x64)
2) Follow the wizard and accept the defaults
3) Restart the computer (the installer usually says it needs a restart)
4) After restarting the computer, plug in the usb cable
5) The computer should say installing Device driver software and fail at the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00
6) Click the Windows button, right click computer, manage
7) Under Computer Management, Click Device Management
8) Go to Ports (COM & LPT)
9) You should see the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 with a Yellow Exclamation point on it
10) Right Click on the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 and select Properties
11) Click the Driver Tab
12) Click Update Driver
13) Select Browse my computer for driver software
14) Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
15) Choose the Cisco Serial Driver
16) Device Driver is installed successfully, take note of the com port it is using and enjoy.

Solution found for getting itunes to work on windows XP 64 bit

I recently just got an ipod nano and I got it to work on my window xp 64 bit desktop. I followed the instructions from http://skunkwerks.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/getting-itunes-to-work-with-windows-x p-x64/ and it works but it comes up with an error that your ipod requires itunes 8.0 or later because the prior instructions is for itunes version 7.6.2 so you need to go to http://pctech.invisibill.net/?page_id=36 click on the last link and download itunes64setup again, except this time it's for version 8. Repeat the same steps you did for 7.6.2 only for 8 this time.

You can run a 32 bit version of Windows XP in a virtual machine. Microsoft is ending support for XP in less than two years, so you may want to invest in an upgrade.

Have you disabled the firewall in you security system? Windows firewall rarely gets in the way, but security systems' do.

I fixed it by downloading this drivers:
