HPAYD, welcome to the forum.
There is no OS X 10.10 driver for the scanjet.  If it is over a year old, it is doubtful that HP will provide a driver for it.

After spending all day developing film I find myself unable to scan contact sheets from the film.
Made one attempt using Vue Scan software, by placing the film strips directly on the glass. The result was less than optimal, so I placed two of the 120 film strips into the film holder that came with the scanner. The result as a double-click sound from the transparancy lid and no scan.
    Tried again; same result.
Rebooted computer; tried again and same result.
Switched to the HP software (HP Scanjet Scanner 2.4.4); same result.
Tried a flatbed scan with the film still in position; scan completed (but of course useless).
Ran another transparancy scan using the HP software; again a double click sound from the transparancy lid with no scan.
Has the transparancy function stopped working?

  • Is it possible to set up a HP Scanjet 8200 series (8290 with ADF) Intel Mac

Is it possible to set up a HP Scanjet 8200 series (8290 with automatic document feeder) on the new Intel based Mac Pro desktop computer (nehalem 2.93 dual processors, 8 core)? Can anyone please steer me in the right direction -- I tried one of the drivers from the HP website and the install reflected that it does not work on intel based computers. Does OS X Leopard come with some type of utility to help me set up the scanner (I don't see where to set it up)? Thanks.

    Hi Nicky,
Yes,  you can download and install the software.  Yay!

  • Mac Mini using OS X Tiger does not see my HP Scanjet 4670 scanner! HELP!!!!

I have an HP Scanjet 4670 scanner which worked fine on my pervious mac which was an emac with OS X Panther.
However, I now own a G4 Mac Mini running with OS X Tiger and recenly tried to use my scanner with it for the first time only to get the message: "scanner not found" I then went straight to my System Profiler to look at the USB Device Tree and was shocked to see that all my USB devices show up EXCEPT my scanner!
Mechanically, the scanner appears fine (even when I run its 'Hardware Test') but no matter what I do I cant get the Mac to 'see' it. I have reinstalled the HP scanner software old AND new, but to no avail. Although, I'm sure that even with NO HP software on my Mac, the System Profiler should still be detecting a USB device on its tree.
Just out of curiosty I connected my scanner to my old emac (my girlfriend has had it for a few months now) and it has the same problems there too!! WEIRD OR WHAT? The emac is STILL running on Panther - although during the months AFTER I gave it to my GF there has been some minor OSX Panther upgrades installed.
Is it just coincidental bad luck that my scanner became faulty when I changed mac and operating systems? Or is there an OS X Tiger problem lurking somwhere here?
PLEASE PLEASE can someone offer suggestions!!!!????? It is a lovely looking, decent scanner which was not cheap to buy and is only under 2 years old!!!

Looks like you're using software for this scanner that was for Panther only.
Try downloading HP's version of the scanner's software for Tiger.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&dlc=en&produ ct=303641&os=219
And run software update to make sure you're running the latest Tiger update.
If you're already doing this, or it still doesn't work, it could be a damaged USB cable (as your girlfriend Panther system doesn't see it either).

    Some basic questions:
Did you install all of the software, I installed all of the sofrware for my Epson scanner before using it, I'm sure if I jump ahead, I'd be in trouble.
    USB Questions
is it plugged into a usb hub? If so try connecting it directly to the computer.
is the cable your using a usb2 cable? Your new Mac has usb2 ports not usb like the emac, and you'll run into issues using a regular run of the mill usb cable. I ran into a simiar issue with my Kodak 1400 printer, I needed to go out and purchase a usb2 cable.

  • Need the full functionality for Scanjet G4050 for Mac OS 10.9

I am Mac user and a few years ago I bought the Scanjet G4050, because the quality and good performance scanning photos and 35mm negative films.
I was pretty satisfied by the results and the perfomance of the HP software. I was able to include all the negative films and the program automaticaly scanned, and separate it in files and with the desired quality.
But, with all the upgrades of Mac OS the features and functionality of the software is becoming worse and worse.
I haven't been able to scan for a while with the OS 10.9. Now the last driver is working and I can scan.
But, why have you HP guys removed the old negative scanning funtionality??? It worked perfectly well and now is a disaster.
Please, tell me you are planning to release a new driver with that functionality again. I expect that support from HP.
    Thanks

Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom. Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

  • Scanjet 8300 and Mac OS X 10.9

Does a Mac with OS 10.9 (Maverick) need a new driver in order for a Scanjet 8300 to work?
After scanning, I get this error message when I try to save the image: An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to.  Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only."
When will a driver be available?
    Is there a workaround?
    Thanks

I was just testing this solution and run into the same issue with the second document I try and save. The first one after opening HP Scan always seems to save.  Unfortunately, even when it does save the image is completely gray.  This happens no matter what image format I use.
I will have to see if there is going to be a Mavericks update for a product this old.

  • Still no software for HP Scanjet 4370 for Mac OS X 10.9.3 Mavericks

I recently moved from a Windows PC to Mac and have an HP Scanjet 4370.  Today I found the Mac OS X software and **bleep**-near celebrated.  The HP page says the software is for Mac OS X and Power PC.  After downloading, when I tried to run the install .exe I got an error message saying that Mac no longer supports Power PC.  So I backed out of the install and put away my celebration party supplies.  SOMEBODY go to HP headquarters, go to the programming department and write an installation program that WORKS for the 4370.

  • Scans from HP Scanjet 4070 save as horizontal black/white bands in Mac OS X 10.9.4

Using H-P's latest software "HP Scan" v2.4.4 and running under Mac OS X 10.9.4 "Mavericks," the sacnning software and the scanner work perfectly, UNTIL "Save" is clicked. The resulting file is a series of horizontal balck and white bands. Changing resolution of the scan changes the widths of the bands. The preview window shows the correct image, and cropping function works, as does rotation. Have only attempted to save as JPEG file, no other formats tested.
I had this problem once before a couple of years ago and solved it, but can't remember how!
    Any help? Thanks!

  • PSE 6.0 on Mac and my HP Scanjet 6350C plugin not working

    Hi,
I think the title say it almost all about my issue, but when I install my HP Scanjet drivers and tools, I have a Photoshop plugin. When I was under PSE3.x on my Mac, it used to be detected and worked fine. Now, I'm trying to configure it for PSE 6.x and the plugin is not detected by PSE.
Any idea what I may have got wrong? Maybe in the wrong folder?
    Thanks

My scanner is not very recent, maybe late 90's. So yes, I'm pretty sure this is the latest drivers, has they do not update the drivers for older scanner that often.
I'm using OS X 10.5 Leopard. The scanner software in standalone mode is working correctly. I just cannot add the PSE plugin and make it work.
My Mac is an iMac Intel 24" white. But like I said, the plugin used to work on this machine in PSE3. In the help menu, I can read something like: external module not loaded: NONE. But I also read at the beginning that my external module main folder is:
    MyHD:Applications:Adobe Photoshop Elements 6:Plug-Ins:
And no other folders are define for plugin. I put my scanjet plugin into:
    MyHD:Applications:Adobe Photoshop Elements 6:Plug-Ins:ImportModules:
I rename the file to Scanjet.plugin (from Scanjet without the .plugin extension), but that did not help.

I need this driver, which was available there before:

but now the link doesn't work anymore.
Can anybody sent it back to me? Thanks a lot for advance !!

The HP web site has support pages and a general search with the word
Mac in there plus your product name & number should generate results.
Here's a result from such a search of: HP Scanjet 5400C drivers...

HP had a rather large combination download which covered many of their
products a year or so ago; that was an update and replaced original media
CDs that were included with some of their items. Not sure if scanners were
included in that (and it was huge.) Somewhere, I have that download .dmg.

  • Mac compatible scanners and HP Scanjet N6310

Does anyone know of a good resource for finding Mac compatible scanners and recent reviews of such scanners?
In particular does anyone have experience of using the HP ScanJet N6310 on a recent Mac. It is listed by HP as being OS 10.5 compatible and even has Mac versions of various software on its installation DVD. I have found a couple of reviews of it, but it is not clear that any of the reviewers were using a Mac. I am wondering how the Mac software and drivers work.
