Scanned documents in Adobe ExportPDF

I want to export a scanned spreadsheet and make it editable. Is it possible?

Hi, Stacy,
Thanks for your reply.  What I need to know is the following: I tried to convert a pdf file that I received from email into a Word document and it worked ok, however I tried to convert another pdf file that had been scanned into pdf and the spreadsheet in the document came as a non-editable image and I could not work on it. I would like to know how to proceed in order to turn it editable in Word. Is it possible through the Adobe ExportPDF?
Thanks again and kind regards,
Vera S. Vasconcellos

To edit a document you will need Acrobat Pro.

If the scanned document was not processed for OCR, then it is just an image and cannot be searched for text.

how do you covert a scanned document file to adobe acrobat

    Hi Anthony
If you already have a scanned image, choose File > Create > PDF from File, and select the JPEG or other file you want to convert.
Choose View > Tools > Text Recognition.
Click the 'In This File' option in the Text Recognition panel that opens at the right.
Designate desired pages and click OK. Acrobat automatically applies OCR to the scanned document or image.
Use the OCR Suspects tool to search for and fix any misspellings.

  • Editing scanned document with Adobe Pro

Is it possible to edit scanned documents that are saved as pdf files? I know the search or find command do not work on scanned documents. Our office is going paperless but there are times that we need to go back to the original document and make changes instead of reproducing the original, making the changes and then creating a new document

you'd need a good OCR (Optical Character Recognition) application to convert the images to text first.
After that, you'd probably want to export the text to something like a Word document for editing.
Most of the time it's easier just to recreate the document.

  • How to scan legal size document with Adobe Acrobat 6.0?

How do you scan legal (8.5 x 14.0) size documents with Adobe Acrobat 6.0.0 ? There is no option for that size paper in the scan menu. And I can't find the answer in either my help file or on-line with Adobe.com. Can anyone help me?

I use a HP OfficeJet G85. I have no problem copying/printing legal (8.5 x 14) size documents with that all-in-one unit. So I assumed it should be able to send the image it collected to my Adobe Acrobat program instead of to the printer. Am I missing something? Or should I put the question to HP instead of Adobe?

This cannot be done on Reader. You need to have Acrobat.
In Acrobat, go to Create > PDF from scanner.
Else you can use the Scanner software to scan to pdf and then view it in Adobe Reader.

    Hi melisaf76024648,
Can you please tell me what process you're using to create the PDF? Are you scanning directly from the scanner into Acrobat? Or, are you scanning the document, and then using Adobe PDF Pack to convert the scanned image to PDF? Or, some other method?
Please walk me through how you're creating the PDF, and we will have a better idea where things went awry.

  • Will the Adobe ExportPDF allow me to edit PDF documents.

I purchased/subscribed for one year at 23.88 Adobe ExportPDF. I was trying to buy what I needed so I can edit a PDF document.......Did I buy the right thing? I had the free version of Adobe installed before purchasing the ExportPDF.

You can export to a Word document, and often edit THAT. The original PDF remains unaltered and unedited.

I just purchased the Adobe ExportPDF and need to know how to convert my pdf or other files into documents that I can edit.  Can someone help me with this?

    Hi Desh,
There is no way you can edit and document with Exportpdf. Exportpdf only helps you to convert the pdf document to other formats.
Please provide more information what is exactly that you want to perform. And what all Adobe Applications you have.
