Scanned files from Photosmart 6520 screen missing

I decided to try scanning a single page from my scanner instead of using the program on the Mac. The printer screen claims it scanned successfully but I have no idea where to. The printer stated to check the monitor, but nothing opened up after the scan. Any clues? I can't figure out how to set where files scanned would be sent to.

Welcome to the forums!
I read your post about not being able to find your scanned image on your Mac, so I decided to play around on a Mac here that is running 10.10, and I would suggest that you try these steps to see if this helps you.
Click on the "Finder" icon at the bottom of your desktop, or click on your desktop.
Click on Help, and in the search bar, type in "scanned images" and you should see an option pop up saying "Recent Folders - Scanned Images".
Click on the Recent Folders option and look for your scan in there.
Let me know what happens!

Auto scan files from windows folder

I am having trouble updating the iTunes library automatically? e.g. when I delete a file from my folder where all my music is stored the Library in iTunes does not do a refresh and pick up the change?
Please help because this is getting irritating because I have to keep importing the folder into iTunes.

iTunes does not have an auto-refresh or scan feature as you desire.
If you delete a music file on the PC (outside of iTunes), you will be left with a broken song reference within iTunes.
Delete both the reference and file by using iTunes.

You will have to contact Cloud Service to have the Web Service reset. The number to call is 1-855-785-2777.

Oddity in Preview re scan files from CanoScan

I've come upon some strange behavior in Preview. When I scan a page on my Canon LIDE 25 scanner (via the CanoScan software), the resulting saved file is a .tiff (the default). When I try to open it in Preview, Preview starts, and says that file is the current window, but no window appears. (This used to work just fine in Mac OS 10.4.11.) The .tiff file is apparently fine (read on), but Preview doesn't display it. After a couple hours of hair-tearing, I found that the file is there, and there are at least two ways of inducing Preview to display it:
1. Minimize the (nonexistent) window, and then call it back up from the dock. The window now appears, with the scanned image displays just fine.
2. Open a random PDF file and it appears, along with windows for any and all previously invisible image files.
So I can force my way around this problem, but would appreciate if anyone can suggest a fix for this perverse behavior.
BTW, Get Info shows that the files saved by CanoScan contain somewhat fewer properties than files saved by other agents. I don't know why this should make a critical difference, but I thought I'd note it.

How to transfer files from old flat screen Imac to time capsule?

I just purchased a brand new Imac and would like to transfer my files, pics and music to it from my old flat screen Imac.
I have a 500gb capsule as my wireless router and backup for the new imac, however my old imac does not have airport installed on it so I can't access the capsule wirelessly.
So... I was wondering if I could link them together through ethernet or hook the old imac to the capsule with an ethernet cable and off load my files to it?

Ok, let's give the following a try:
1) On the host iMac (the "old" iMac), in the Services pane of the Sharing System Preferences pane, turn on Personal File Sharing.
2) From the Finder's Go menu on the "new" iMac, choose Network. A computer icon for host iMac should be present.
3) Double-click it to mount it. You will need to provide credentials (an account name & password). These credentials must be an existing user account on the host iMac.
4) The host iMac should now be mounted on the new iMac's desktop. You should now be able to transfer files as required between devices.

How to delete file from DW welcome screen

Don't know much about CS3, but learning. Erased some files,
started over again, but noticed the name of the file/site is still
showing on the "welcome" screen when I open CS3. Can't find a way
to delete it. Any suggestions?

i think you might just have to wait until you've
opened/created enough
files to move the old ones down and off the list.
or you could just click the "don't show again" box on the
Welcome
screen. it's not really necessary, because you can find all
of those
options in the menu at the top as well. that welcome screen
may seem
handy now, but you'll probably get sick of it eventually. i
know i did!

Compressor won't compress large files from QT X Screen cap

all of my large screen capture files give a "Quicktime error: -36" when I try to transcode them in Compressor. Small ones work fine. Trimming one large file into two smaller ones makes no difference; the second of the two still fails. Ideas please..?

Need more info:
What compression settings are you using?
File size of original file?
Hard drive space remaining?
How much ram?
How many cores?
etc
Pretty much every little detail.

Need to create access to a pdf file from IOS Home Screen

I need to be able to do this for a company executive. I thought it would be straightforward using GoodReaders "gropen:\\" command in Safari and using "Add to Home Screen". Problem is, as soon as I enter the gropen command it goes to GoodReader, before I can add to Home Screen. I have tried hitting the "stop" X - but I am never fast enough. There seems to be no way to edit a Home Screen shortcut url. Any ideas? I have 24 mours to ficure this out before I admit defeat. Help!

'No Upload Authorization' While Uploading a Text File from Multiple Select

Hi all,
   The User is trying to upload a text file from Multiple Selection screen of a Query in BEx and it gives the error message of 'No Upload Authorization' (Error DB886).
   In 'Logon data' tab of Tcode SU01, it has 'User' for 'User Group for Authorization check' for this User.
   I could upload a text file from Multiple Selection screen with my User Id.
   An idea about this error, PLEASE ?

Hi Ron,
   This User does not have the access to Tcode ST01.
   The user executed Tcode SU53 immediately following the authorization failure to see the authorization objects. The 'Authorization obj' is blank and under the Description it has 'The last Authorization check was successful' with green tick mark.

Photosmart 6520 converting scanned files

I need to upload my college transcripts to an application website. When I scan these documents, the files show up in png. The website only accepts htmal, wp, pdf, doc, etc. How do I convert these files (or set up my scanner) to produce documents in pdf, wp, html...?

a. From the Home screen, touch Scan.
b. Select the destination by touching either Computer or Memory Card.
Touch Touch here to preview to preview the scan.
Touch Settings to select a scan type or change resolution. (select document here)
c. Touch Scan.
It supports the following formats:

• Optical Resolution: up to 1200 dpi
• Hardware Resolution: up to 1200 x 2400 dpi
• Enhanced Resolution: up to 2400 x 2400 dpi

Print preview missing from HP Photosmart 6520 e

where is the print preview option for the HP Photosmart 6520?

I use the print preview every time I print so I can decide what is wastefull.

Photosmart 6520 unable to scan editable text

I am unable to scan editable text from my HP Photosmart 6520 to my HP Envy Phoenix pc running Windows 8.1 64 bit.
It is possible to scan the document to the pc as a pdf file.
It is then possible to convert the pdf to a Word document but the text is not editable.
Is anyone able to help me with this please?
Note: I am able to convert pdf files sent to me via e-mail into word documents with editable text.

Photosmart 6520 Scanning

I have just purchased an HP Photosmart 6520 to replace my 6510 which was malfunctioning. I always do my scanning from the the HP Scan on my iMac; with the 6510 I could go into Preferences and change resolution/colour or black & white or grayscale/crop size if wanted each time I scanned. But those preferences do not exist, or at least I cannot find them, in the 6520 HP Scan utility. I have downloaded the latest software. There is the "Scan to Computer" options but changing them makes no difference to scanning from the computer, which means that I am, so it seems, left with having to use the defaults built into the software (200 dpi colour for photos and 300 dpi grayscale for documents). Is there any way I can change these settings to my own requirements for each scan, i.e. I never scan photos at less than 300 dpi. My operating systen is OS X Mavericks.

I see that you are missing some scan options for your HP Photosmart 6520, on Mac OS X 10.9, and I am happy to help you with this scanning issue!
Please make sure that the Airprint driver has not been selected as the default, it should read as HP Photosmart 6520. Click on the Apple Icon, System Preferences, then Print & Scan. Then look at these screenshots:
