Scanned Images Have Yellow Lines When Using the HP 2400 Scanner
I have a HP 2400 scanner. The scanner was working fine on Wednesday, Sept. 10. I tried to scan a photo (Jpeg) and a document (PDF) but there were yellow lines going through each item. I reconnected the scanner and attempted to rescan the photo and document. The yellow line still appeared. Please let me know what I can do to correct the problem.

Because our IT system can only handle PDFs with versions up to 1.4, we need to "PDF from scanner" feature to store the scanned PDFs in version 1.4.
Acrobat 9 always saved it in 1.4, but starting with Acrobat X, the PDFs are saved in 1.5.
There must be a setting or configuration somewhere where I can change this.
I already tried modifying the distiller's standard joboptions, but that did not work.
Thanks for any helpWe use in our software an open-source pdf library that only supports pdf versions up to 1.4. I know it is old, but it's not that simple to exchange it.
But I just had a look into the Actions as you suggested. This way I get it to work. It costs one additional click, so that's acceptable.

Ps keeps crashing after shortcuts stop working and image get screwed up when using the hand tool
Hi, ive been having problems with Photoshop Cs4 for a while.
I work with big photo files and when i have alot of layers and use the hand tool to move throughout the image this happens:

Alot of times PS shortcut's stop working and eventually PS crashes.
I have an 27 imac 3.33 GHZ Core Duo/8GB DDR3/256MB ATI Radeon HD 4670
When im using photoshop, even if i have other softwares open at the same time I still have 5gb of ram available.
Any suggestions to solve this?I tried everything and the issues are still there.

How to hide the extra line when use the AI pen tool
When I use AI CC pen tool to draw a line, when i click the 1st anchor point, " - " shows next to the Poniter ( I did not drag ) ,I tried to move, but an extra line coming out before I click another point. So I could not draw lines or curves! That extra line just follow the Pointer direction. I am using Window 32 bit, will it affect this? please help.

Apologizing for my being so slow in the uptake, I believe I have finally grasped the meaning.
As I now (mis)understand it, you are seeing the (maybe overly) helpful Smart Guides in action.
You may ignore the line or untick Smart Guides in the View dropdown, or change their settings as desired.
The Smart Guides are trying to help you with snapping to directions, paths, Anchor Points, whatever, and also telling you where you are. -
Blurred lines when using the stroke tool
Im trying to draw frames with feathered corners using strokes, its supposed to be a solid black line 2px thick it works sometimes but not others. What I end up with is a blurred edge, almost like it's using a spray which is not at all what I want, have tried changing various settings but its still the same.
Anyone any ideas please? It's driving me mad..

I've changed the colour settings so it's not being 'filled' but when I try to use stroke it's now greyed out.
All I am trying to achieve is a rectangular shape with rounded edges with a black outline.

Return key not creating a new line when using the horizontal text tool
Going through the adobe after effects 'classroom in a book' examples - when writing a line of single line using the horizontal text tool pressing return does not create the next line underneath, the cursor stays on the same line?

My OS is windows 7. I think it is the first time I have needed to put more than one line of text in an after effects layer. I am new to CS5.5 - after effects and I'm going through an adobe tutorial 'classroom in a book' series book.
I thought about using a paragraph text box as you suggest but could not find the function in the tools menu.
I have since tried clearing the cache out and restoring default layout but with no joy.
I have used the return key for multiple line text in premier pro and it works perfectly ok.

3rd iPhone 5, due to purple lines when using the camera.
I am now on my 3rd iPhone 5 in a year, after a lot of hassle getting one, but that was down to Vodafone, never use them again.
My 1st 2 iPhone 5's were fine for about 5/6 months, and then when I used the camera a lot, they started getting purple lines on the screen.
The 1st time this happened it was there every time I tried to use the camera, but the 2nd time it happened it disappeared afterwards, but, as you would expect I still had it replaced.
Although the 2nd time the 'genius' at Kingston were not so helpful, and told me that it was software, and was due to me restoring from a backup from my previous iPhone, I explained that I hadn't, but they wouldn't have it, but then realized that I was telling the truth, but didn't apologize, just said, 'oh you didn't restore did you?'
My phone is now out of warranty and Apple can not guarantee it wont happen again, or what they will do if it does. and the 'genius' said to e-mail Apple, but couldn't give me an e-mail address.
I think I'll be returning to android when my upgrade is next due.
Who else has had this issue?
And what did Apple do? Did they help you?

It seems unbelievable!I have the same issue - perhaps not exact but extremely similar. In photo mode, there is a small purplish speck, which I initially thought as dust or something, and of course it ends of in photos taken. However, this speck is not present in video mode, meaning there is no dust, but some sort of artifact on the photo processor or something. Either way, itsa product defect - I plan on seeing if Apple will support this and replace thephone.....

Image Preview grey out when using the Radial Filter
Hi,
I am trying to use the radial filter on my photo in the Lightroom 5, but my problem is that when I tried to create the eclipse with my mouse drag on my photo, the photo immediate disapper and grey out, once then, I cannot do anything with my photo
Even I tried to change other parameter for example changing the color temperature....etc., the photo is still disappearing and grey out, nothing showin in the photo display area.
The program is not hanged, it's just that the photo not displaying, I have to click the Library module and then click again the Develop module, then the photo appears again.
Is there anyone encountering this issue and share with me any solution ?
( I wonder if it's because my laptop below the Lightroom required spec, my laptop is Intel i5 2.4G with 4G RAM)

In looking at screenshots in a tutorial, I realized the box that pops up for the controls for the graduated filter was collapsed on my screen. Once I clicked the arrow and got the proper controls, it works like it should. It's been a while since I felt this dumb!! But I guess that's why they call it the Beginner's forum, eh?

Lines when using the mixer brush?
PS said my hardware wasn't supported (not suprising, it's just a laptop from where I work), so this might be due to that. Though even things like the roate and larger mixer brush were running smoothly, so I'm not sure what's causing it.

Is anyone else getting this?What was the spacing on the brush? It looks like you came in from the edge with a wet brush and it mixed picked up paint with what is on the brush on the next applied tip.Try reducing spacing on your brush to around 3 or 4%, that should clear it up.

I scanned an image and want to use the image trace tool, but it doesn't pick up all the lines. Is there a way to darken the lines before using the image trace tool? Help!
If the scan is in B&W, then play with the Threshold setting here
If it's in Color, then you will have to open the scan in a Raster editing software (like Photoshop) and play with the Brightness/Contrast settings to make the lines bolder. -
Single Vertical Line When Using ADF for Scan or Copy on HP Officejet Pro 8600
HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium Printer (CN577A)
OS: MS 7 64 bit
When using the ADF for my CN577A HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium printer, I get a single vertical line on the document that is produced. This occurs when copying or scanning, both in black and white, and in color. If I scan or copy using the glass, I don't get the vertical line.
I already tried the troubleshooting. I unplugged the printer, left it without power for several minutes; that didn't correct the problem. Next, I cleaned the rollers and the glass; I still get the vertical line, but only when using the ADF.
My firmware version used is current (CLP1CN1150CR).
What should I check next?

View Solution.The ADF uses its own glass area on the scanner bed, it is the narrow (about 1" wide) strip on the left. Cleaning this area should resolve the issue. A single small spot would cause the issue you are seeing.

You need a user with XDBADMIN rights to access the WebDav. Once you have access, you can open the URL as webfolder (in IE).

When using the "Fill & Sign PDF" feature, is there a way to stretch to size the text box on a specific area of the page...instead of the text box going on in one straight long line....? I'm not seeing there's an option or ability to do so, just wanting to confirm.
Improving the handling of multiple line text fields is in our plans, but for now, you will have to add manual carriage returns (Enter).
