Scanned photo appears striated after selected and pasted into new photoshop file.

Hey Everyone,
I was wondering how to select a photo from a scan. I used the various selection tools and then copied and pasted the photo into a new photoshop document ane the scan appears striated and strange. Is there something I'm doing incorrectly?

I scanned it in at 300 dpi. I didn't change it from RGB to CMYK. I am scanning the photos for the purose of a video which I was going to convert it ot 72 dpi later. I'm also planning to archive these photos hence why I scanned them in at 300 dpi and saved it as a tiff file. I scanned several photos at once. I didn't use the crop and straighten option because the photos are from the 70's and the edges are rounded. I wanted to maintain that look so I used the pen tool to get a decent selection. For kicks and giggles, I tried copying and pasting a screen shot I took and the same striation occured. I then downloaded a picture from google images and copied and pasted it and the same thing happened. Could there be something wrong with my program? I have all the updates for it. Also, when I rotate the images the opacity changes and I get columns appearing on the photo.
This isn't the photo I scanned but the fact that it was scanned doesn't seem to matter. There seems to be something wrong with my program. I used an older version of photoshop elements I have with no problem, but for many reasons I don't really want to use elements. I hope this helps. Thanks

From the error message that you posted it seems that you are putting a semicolon ";" at the end of your query. I checked the query that you have posted. It is working fine for me. (I am using 3.0.8) but I feel it will work in your version also. I tried the query without a ";" at the end --It worked.
I tried with ";" at the end -- It gave the error that you have posted. So remove the ";" at the end and it should work. If you are still getting the same error then pls write down the version you are using. I will check in that version.

PDF comments change to XML after copying and pasting

Has anyone experienced a problem with comments in mark-ups where they appear as normal text until they have been copied (and pasted into Indesign, though this part is not relevant) but when ticked as completed they change to xml formatted text? See before and after pics below:

As a follow up to this I have just experienced another similar situation where the the pdf comment changes to Greek text...
the left hand pic is from the comment window, the right hand pic is from the mark-up in the text. Very odd...

How exactly are you doing this?
When I cut out a part of an audio region, then drag the remaining parts together, so they are touching, the track will skip the cut out section when playing the file. Also, if I select the remaining parts of the region and use the command "Edit > join regions". This will create a new audio file with the cut out part deleted.

No. There are no known viruses that can affect an iPhone that has not been jailbroken.
It may ave been copied unknowingly, but there is no virus involved.

Try using the SHARE menu to share your movie in the sizes you need. It should work on the shared copy.
Another thing to try would be to restart your Mac so you have fresh memory.

Can't copy text or images from webpages and paste into word documents or notepad

Today suddenly I cannot copy text or images from webpages (I tried many different ones) and paste into my word 2010 document or notepad. What can I do to get this ability back. CS4 Copy and paste to new Project

When I copy (or cut) and paste an audio clip to a new project timeline the sound is fine but after I save the project I see the video and the sound file but no sound. The sound file still plays in Soundbooth but not on the project timeline. I tried rendering the clip but no lucki. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I haven't remapped the keyboard. In the CS4 (which I am using) help shows "M" as the key for Match Frame. Also I am targetingthe audio track and moving the CTI over it and pressing "M" as you suggest but no luck.
I guess I will just have to find another work method to complete my project but I really thank you for your efforts on my behalf

One thought - have you remapped your keyboard?
Also, and a CS5 user will have to step in here, it could be that Match Frame has changed. It did between PrPro 2.0 and CS3/CS4, so it is possible. In the CS5 Help file, what is shown for the keystroke?
Last, are you Targeting your Audio Track, Selecting the Audio, moving the CTI over it, and then pressing M?

Instead of importing an entire photo into Pages, I am trying to:
-take a screen shot of iPad documentation
- open in photo roll and crop a section out of it
- paste into Pages

You can do that with PhotoPad. You take a screen shot, crop it in PhotoPad and it is saved to Saved Phototos. Then you just go the Media section and import the croped photo.

How do I copy image from web and paste into Open Office Document

Whenever I choose Copy Image from Safari and then paste into open office, I only get the image url and not the image. I am sure that I am not selecting Copy Image Address.

If the images are in the location you want them be sure to select "Add" at the top of the import dialog box.

How can I get rid of formatting marks in a doc that is copied and pasted into word; these marks don't show up in Safari.

When copying and pasting text from an article into Word, formatting marks appear in the copied text that don't appear if I cut and paste from Safari to Word. This started several months ago, perhaps even a year ago. I assume it's a FF issue since it doesn't happen with Safari, which I don't use if I can avoid it.
