Scanner for officejet pro x576dw printing off center

Scanned documents on our officejet pro x576dw MFP are coming out skewed--i.e. the contents are coming out looking like they were rotated 5-10 degrees. They're not deformed--just not showing up straight on the page.
The obvious thought was that the document is being fed in crookedly, but when I make copies, the content comes out straight in the copy, as they should. That suggests that it's not the document feeder that's the problem, but some issue with the scanner software. Here's what it looks like:
Any ideas how I can fix this?
Thanks!

  • Password reset for Officejet Pro X576dw MFP Printer

Help.  We have an Officejet Pro X576dw MFP and the manager who set up the system has lost the password that he input when he set the printer up.  We can't access the utility part of the program and set up out incoming fax's and scans to go straight to the computer.  I have been into the Setup menu and the Factory default setting is also locked and requires the password, is there any other way that we can reset this password??

I've found a work around.  Open System Prefs/Printers & Scanners. Click on HP Officejet Pro X576dw MFP in the left hand pane, then Scan at the top of the box on the right.  Load your document into the scanner and click Open Scanner. Now, make sure the "Use Document Feeder" box in new Scanner window is checked and click Scan in the bottom right of the window. If thta box isn't checked nothing will happen.
You'll find the scan titled "Scan" in the Pictures folder.

  • How to set wireless security for Officejet Pro L7750 printer?

    Hi there.
I connected Officejet Pro L7750 to wireless broadband router and all is well. Only problem is that all computers on the network can install the drivers and connect to the printer. How do I limit the printing capabilities only to 2 computers so the rest of the network won't be able to print to this printer?

Quite a few questions there, Sends, but I will do what I can to answer them.
I would first recommend buying a router, even if it is one that you won't connect to the internet and network this with your other PCs and the printer. This will give you the best functionality and results for what you are attempting to do.
Additionally, the Auto Off feature of the printer can be disabled, and is not affected by the connection type. You can usually go through the Setup Menu and select Tools to change the options there on the energy saving features.
Lastly, the auto off feature on your computer is a Windows question, but an easy one to answer. If you are on a laptop you can right-click on the battery in the service tray (bottom right hand corner) and change the energy conservation settings.
You might be better off installing the printer through the USB cord and alternating that based on when you are using it, but that would be optimal only if you are printing only a few documents on an irregular basis. A networked connection is the easiest to manage over several computers, honesty, but you do have some requirements for that connection and limitations as well.
I hope this information is useful!

  • HP Officejet 7610 randomly printing off center.

The header says it all, when printing one copy will be perfect, then the next comes out off center towards the right of page. Does it randomly whether printing one at a time or in multiples. Many more prints come out off center than not. Have updated firmware and drivers, still no luck. Printer is communicating wirelessly.

Hello , and welcome to the HP Community! I hope you have a pleasant experience with us.   I understand you are having an issue with off center printing on your HP Officejet 7610 Wide Format e-All-in-One printer. I'd love to help you with this. The first thing I would suggest, would be to make a multiple page copy on the printer itself. This will tell us if the issue is being cause by the printer hardware. If the copies print without issues, then I'd recommend making sure you have the most recent version of the HP software installed for your printer. You can download the software here - HP Officejet 7610 series Full Feature Software and Drivers If the copies are still off center, than we are most likely dealing with a hardware problem and I have a few suggestions. Please follow the steps in this document to check for jammed paper or obstructions in the paper path:A 'Carriage Jam' Message Displays for HP Officejet 7610 Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer Series (H912) I'd also recommend uninstalling and re-installing the ink cartridges. You should also try to align the printhead manually from the front panel of the printer:From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow (), and then touch Setup ().Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printhead.Wait while the printer aligns the printhead and then prints an alignment page. Please respond to let me know if we have resolved your issue!Have a fantastic day.

i need single reportevery fax sent by pc .. non full list fax report print!!

    Wanna help me??
would take a single and simple modification to the firmware and the sfw!!
thank you and sorry for my english !!

If you want the printer to print a confirmation report, in most models, you can turn Fax Confirmation on for Send and Receive under the Basic Fax Settings on the front panel of the printer.  Are you saying you have done this yet the printer is still not printing them?  This is one of the very few Enterprise Officejet printers on the market and  I do not have access to it.  Post your question on the HP Enterprise Business Community to gain more exposure to other owners of this printer as well as the experts that work on them.

  • Officejet Pro X576dw slow scanner

I have recently installed 2 Officejet Pro X576dw machines.  I like all of the features.  The only problem I have is
the SCAN TO NETWORK feature.  I set this up with a few folders on the server to scan to.  The scans work fine. The only problem I have is how long it takes to start the scan process from the time you hit the scan button.  Its almost 2 min.
We are going to be scanning ALOT of medical test results.  How can I speed up the time the printer takes to start to scan.
    thank you

  • Bizarre solution for OfficeJet Pro K5300 problem when Word docs hang in the print queue spooling

A bizarre solution to a spooling problem.
    Problem:
Word documents sent to an HP Officejet Pro K5300 Series printer hang in the print queue, saying “spooling”. They do not print, and cannot even be cancelled.
    Solution (Bizarre Solution).
The solution that worked for me was to rename the printer by removing the first space after “HP” in the printer’s name. When I did this, Word could then print to the printer. If the space is then re-inserted back into the printer-name then Word is still able to print!! I don’t know how, but it worked, and it worked on two separate installations! The full explanation is below with more options for testing that still need to be explored, or preferably explained by HP and or Microsoft.
First here is some background. My computer is an IBM NetVista 2.4GHz, P4. It has a 250GB HDD with lots of room and 2GB of RAM. My operating system is Win XP Pro with Service Pack 3. My anti-Virus in Trend Micro Internet Security 2009, updated regularly, (I turned it off while installing the printer software). I use Office Professional 97, with Office SP2b).
I bought a new HP Officejet Pro K5300 printer.
I installed the printer software, and followed HP’s directions strictly. I used the installation CD that was supplied by HP. My connection to the printer was USB.
The installation proceeded uneventfully and I printed a test page after it finished.
After that I printed a configuration page, then I printed a couple of photographs using Irfan View. The quality was great and I was pleased.
Then I tried to print a 2-page Word document, using Word 97, but nothing happened. No response from the printer, no error messages, just silence. I clicked on the printer icon on the task bar to look at the print queue and saw that my document was listed as “Spooling”, but it was not making any progress. I waited a couple of minutes but still no progress. I tried canceling it but it would not cancel/delete. The job on the queue would not respond to anything. I could not print it and I could not cancel it. The only way I could recover was to shut down Word, which flushed the queue and lost the job.
I tried this a few more times but with no success.
I did a Google search for this problem, and I found a few solutions. I tried them, but none worked. I checked HP’s website and found this problem listed, with some solutions from HP. I tried HP’s solutions, but they did not work either. In fact, when there was a Word document stuck “spooling” in the queue, HP’s diagnostic utility said that it could not even communicate with the printer, and suggested that my USB connection was bad. However, when I flushed the queue by shutting down Word, I could successfully send a Test Page to the printer, and I could print a detailed PDF from Adobe. So Word was the problem, not my USB connection.
After a pondering this problem over the next few days, and keeping in mind the fact that the default HP printer-name was “HP Officejet Pro K5300 Series”, I remembered that many years ago I could not get an Excel VB macro to select a printer, and print to it, if the printer-name had any spaces in it. I had noticed that the HP default printer name had 4 spaces in it, so I wondered what would happen if I renamed the printer by removing the spaces from its name.
So I renamed the printer to “HPOfficejetProK5300Series” (no spaces), and voila! Word could now print to it!
Then I wondered, if it was necessary to remove all of the spaces from the name, or just some of them, to get the printer to work, so I renamed the printer back to it’s default name in 4 stages, at each stage re-inserting one of the original spaces, and testing the printing. At each stage the printer kept successfully printing from Word, until I had re-inserted all four spaces and the printer’s name was back to being identical to the default name that it was installed with, but now it would print from Word on command.
So why was it that Word could not get the printer to print with the printer’s default installed name, but if I removed all of the spaces from the printer’s name, then re-inserted them, the printer would print from Word every time?
    So I did another test.
I uninstalled the entire printer software package and installed the updated Full Feature software package, filename “OJProK5X00_Full_8_3.exe”, 159MB download from HP.
After the package was installed, Word could NOT print to the printer, but other programs like Adobe PDF reader, and Irfan View, could print to it. I tried each software package about three times each, with consistent results.
I then renamed the printer, but this time I just removed the first space after the letters “HP”, i.e., I changed the printer’s name from “HP Officejet Pro K5300 Series” to “HPOfficejet Pro K5300 Series”. After I did that Word could then print to it. I then changed the printer’s name back to “HP Officejet Pro K5300 Series” by re-inserting the first space, and Word could still print to it now.
I challenge someone from HP to read this and explain why Word won’t print to this printer until I rename the printer by removing a space, but can still print to it after the space is re-inserted!
Of course, there is another alternative. Perhaps I could have renamed the printer by removing or changing any of the other characters, instead of the spaces. But each test involves completely uninstalling and re-installing the software, and I have better things to do with my time.
    This question was solved.

    What an amazing solution!
I recently purchased an HP Deskjet F4580 and had discovered that when using Word 97, it would print OK when using the Print icon but when trying to print using File->Print->choose page number or current page, Word would crash. Excel, Adobe etc would all print fine. I have spend many hours removing and then reloading the HP software and Office Professional software but this solution fixed the problem in a few minutes. PC is running XP Home SP3.
Just one thing I would add is that my computer has two accounts - one is the Computer Administrator account and the other is a Limited account. When I took out the space between HP and Deskjet so the printer became HPDeskjet F4500 series, I could then print from the Administrator account using either  the print icon or File->Print->choose page number or current page. When I switched to the Limited account, I would get the same crash when I tried File->Print->choose page number or current page (OK with icon). The Limited account mode does not allow the printer to be re-named.
I went back to Admin mode, re-classified the Limited account as a Computer Administrator account, logged on to this account and re-named the printer (in this case I took out another space so it became HPDeskjetF4500 series. Then it printed fine using the print icon or using File->Print->choose page number or current page. I then went back to the Computer Administrator account, re-named the printer to HPDeskjet F4500 and re-classified the second account back to Limited account mode. Now printing OK in both Computer Administrator account mode and Limited account mode.
    Thanks again!

  • 'Quick Fix' for HP Officejet Pro L7580 Printer & 88XL Yellow Cartridge Popping out problem!

After reading other forum comments from people having the same problem with the yellow cartridge popping-out, combined with others who have realised that HP have no interest in compensating anyone for this rediculous example of, at best, 'bad design', or at worst 'blatent planned obsolescence', I have created a solution that may add another 1, 2 or more years of life to the HP Officejet Pro L7580 Printer.
This is not the elegant technical solution I was hoping for.  However, in hindsight, it may prove to be a more reliable solution than replacing the faulty part that is actually causing the problem.  So, here it is the solution ........
I found a wooden triangular door stop that I cut to size that fitted exactly in the space between the plastic door and the offending yellow cartridge. To hold it in place, I wrapped the doorstop with 2" cellotape, then I stuck the door stop to the inside of the plastic door with double sided cellotape (double sided stick-on foam would also work well). With the doorstop in the correct place, the plastic door closed perfectly and was snug enough to apply sufficent pressure to the offending yellow cartridge, and hence stopping it from popping out again.  To make sure the plastic door does not 'fly open' with the pressure of the yellow cartridge (when it wants to pop out!), I applied another piece of 2" cellotape around the outside of the door, holding it to the body of the photocopier.
This exercise only took 10-15 mins to do.  I feel this is a much better option than spending another $300+ on a new All-in-One  system, as well as being a good environmental solution.  If this is DELIBERATE 'planned obsolescence', companies like HP need to be more accountable for, at best, 'sloppy design'.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Try this for a Quick Fix ...........

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Printer - help for office environment/wireless network

I'm an HP person (i.e., laptob, printer, etc.).  Our office had a Brothers (sorry) MFC 9840 and with it we had a desktop app that would allow us to scan, copy and fax from our personal computers.  Needless to say that printer died and I bought the office an HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer. Because the aforementioned capabilities existed, the staff would like them for our new HP printer. I didn't see these capabillities on the support disk.  Did I miss it?  Can you help.  Thanks (because I can not believe the HP would put out such great products without this capability).

    Hi @George1978,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that you would like to learn how to change the print settings when sending an email to print on your Officejet Pro 8630 printer.
To better assist you, would you please supply some additional information:
How are you sending the print job to the printer? Are you sending it from your computer and choosing Print, from one of HP’s mobile apps, are you forwarding the email to the printer’s ePrint email address, or another method?
What operating system are you using on the device you are using to send the print job? If this is a windows computer, save the folder on the C: drive and use the CMD prompt and type  ipconfig  then take note of the IP address of the PC and make the scanner path very simple.  For example, if my computer's IP address was 192.168.0.13 and I saved my folder to the C drive titled Scans, the file path would look like this:
    \\192.168.0.13\Scans  or even just 192.168.0.13\Scans
Then update the scanner defaults to go to that folder and do a test scan, making note of the exact error message if one appears.

  • Paper jam issue on HP OfficeJet Pro X576DW

My recently bought HP OfficeJet Pro X576DW displays and initiates a Paper Jam warning and holds printing subsequently. However, there is no "paper jammed".
Seems like one of the sensors is confused.
Is there a way to hard reset the printer, cause it is not working right now.

    Hope I can help you.
First, please see if you can make sure you have the latest version of firmware on your printer. If you hit the "?" mark and then touch Printer Information, you'll see the FW Version as the last thing on the screen.
The most current ends in 1336MR. If you have a number <1336, please update the FW.
The easiest way to check for FW is to have the printer connected to web services. The small icon on the upper left is for Web Services and under that menu is to check for update.
    Then...
    Settings/Tools/Advanced Cleaning.
Normally, this requires sending out of a cleaning pad by HP, however, try feeding a piece of card stock through tray 1. This may fix your paperjam.

  • Hp officejet pro 576 prints but won't scan

Friends, We recently bought and installed an HP Office Jet Pro x576 dw.  After initial setup, it seemed to work fine.  Shortly afterwards, however, the scanning to computer feature has failed.  Here is what I have tried so far: I uninstalled and reinstalled, and it still doesn't work. I'm running Windows 7, 32-bit.  I realized that nothing happened when I clicked on HP Officejet Pro X576dw MFP icon, so I looked and observed under Processes in the Windows Task Manager that the S/W starts up for a few seconds, but it exits before any window pops up.   I uninstalled ALL of the HP software, and I downloaded and installed "HP Officejet Pro X576dw MFP Full Software Solution" from the HP website.  The actual file name was: OJX576_DW_973.exe, and the version number reported in the control panel (in the uninstall menu) is 29.1.973.39397 The install seemed to work fine, but the Printer Assistant software still won't run. After that exercise, I uninstalled all the HP software again, rebooted, ran windows update, rebooted, and reinstalled the latest Full Software Solution from the HP website.  The install seems to go fine -- the last menu I see is the one where I enter my zip code, etc.   Afterwards, nothing happens when I click on HP Officejet Pro X576dw MFP in the Start menu or doubleclick on the shortcut that the installation placed on the desktop.   The MFP won't let me scan to computer (because it says it hasn't been set up), but I can still print to it. We connect to the printer wirelessly.   Note that I'm pretty sure this worked a couple of days ago, and I haven't knowingly installed any software since we originally installed the printer about a week ago, nor does any show up in the uninstall menu. After trying the various steps above, I searched this forum and tried this solution (quoted here from another thread): Follow the steps below to check the WIA Service:1. Type services.msc in run or search program and files
    2. Scroll down to the WIA Windows Image Acquisition
    3. Make sure that this service is running. Click Stop, and then Restart to make sure
    4. Restart the computer
    Restart the Dependencies services:
    1. Click on Start, in Search box type “services” without quotes.
    2. Scroll down until you see Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
    3. Double click on it and go to the tab called Dependencies.
    4. 2 services should be listed.
    5. Exit that window and look for Remote Procedure Call (RPC).
    6. Make sure it’s on manual or if it is on Auto, just leave it. Make sure the service is started though.
    7. Go to Shell Hardware Detection and Double click.
    8. Set the Start up Type as Manual and hit Apply.
    9. You should be able to Start the service by hitting Start.
    10. Now you are done and the Twain Manager should be working and not give you an error. This should fix your problem I'm super frustrated at this point and hope that someone out there has a solution. I really need the scan to printer feature to work to take advantage of this awesome machine! Thanks so much,Rita Edit: When I tried to post this, it said invalid HTML was found in the message body and removed.

I will do my best to assist you with getting HP Printer Assistant to open again.  You can also post this same information on the HP Enterprise Business Support Forums to get more exposure since this is one of the few Enterprise Officejets.  I would like to add there is a firmware update available for this printer that may be of assistance. Here is a document that discusses more about problems with HP Printer Assistance.  --HP Printer Assistant Opens with a Script Error or in Notepad--There is a place in this document to download a patch for your computer.  Hopefully this will help you get HP Printer Assistant to open.  Even though the title is a little different than your actual problem I have had this work before in this instance. Let me know if you get any specific error messages.  If you can print and even scan using Windows Fax and Scan or Paint, then that will confirm for me that the software installed, the printer is functioning properly, and that the only problem you have is with this one program. I'm happy to help!
