Scanner is misssing edge of image

Scanner B210a has been working fine but is now missing 1/2 inch of front edge when reprinting photos.
Curious though, when scanned from computer we get all the image.
Tried restoring factory defaults and switching off and on a few times - no effect.
Is my scanner broken?

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, it's the very outer edge. But it's present on the top and bottom edge. I thought it was the over scan issue but since it only happens with some clips, i was not sure anymore. The footage came from DigiBeta transfered from film. This will go in DVD for an installation via a projector.
Should i just leave it or try to fix it ??? If i crop, would'nt it leave a bigger space at the top-bottom....i thought to scale it so i can make the edge dissappear. Thanks

    I installed OS X Mavericks and now my Epson Scanner Perfection Series V330 Photo refuses to open. Is there a new driver available? I am scanning my work for a book publication and I need my scanner urgently. I tried Image capture but scanner is not detected.

    Looks like all Epson scanners will fail under Mvrx. And who knows when an updated driver will be available. It's not as if they have had a while to do it already.
    After I noticed mine wouldn't work, I deleted my Workforce 610 and re-added it by pressing the + and instead of going for the IP versions that may pop up, that they say to do under normal conditions, select the Bonjour version. When you select the new printer/scanner in the Printers & Scanners Control Panel, then open the control window and then look in the dock and see if your printer is there. Right click on it and go to "Keep in Dock" for easy Access. In the printer panel there should be a little picture of a scanner on the right side. Click on it or type Commmand-3 and the built-in scanner software/utility will come up. After playing with it I think it's better than and there are some cool features that are not in the stock Epson software.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I print with black border around edge of image?

    I'd like to add a black border around the edge of certain images I'm printing. I know it's fairly trivial in Lightroom, but I can't see where this option is in Aperture. Is this lacking in Aperture, or am I just missing it? Many thanks.
    PS -- I'm aware there are some plug-ins that claim to do this, so if Aperture can't do this, please feel free to chime in with comments on the best plug-in for this task.

    Aperture BorderFX 1.1
    Thanks, Rich. That's a good plug-in, and does cover what I need (with lots of other features, too). The problem, though, is it requires an export of the image, which I then have to either print from another application, or reimport to Aperture to print. I was hoping to find something that will either just apply the border to the print job, or that would serve as more of an Edit With . . . type of plug-in than an Export plug-in, so I can keep everything in one place. Thanks again.

  • Edge poster image no longer visible in design mode

    Just updated to Muse 2014.3
    In design mode the preview of Edge Animations has been replaced with the "Eg" icon.
    The animations works just fine but it is more difficult to place them properly without a preview image.
    I checked the Edge Animation file to make sure that the poster image was selected.

    Yes, it came down to something corrupted with OS X as suddenly I started getting the long grey progress bar every time I booted OS X (no problems when booting Windows 7 on the Boot Camp partition).
    Disk Utility could not repair it and for some reason I couldn't boot off a USB drive that I had setup as a recovery drive, so I couldn't repair it via Disk Warrior nor TechTool (I misplaced the boot DVDs over the years of moving).
    Since this was my laptop that I only use when I'm on the road, all my important information was synced to my desktop Mac so I just started over and reformatted the entire hard drive and reinstalled everything (it gave me the opportunity to try out 10.7 preview release on a clean install as well as I wanted to upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 7 anyways) and now everything works fine, including Target Disk mode.

  • Epson 1670 Perfection Photo Scanner gives "Scanner reported an error" in Image Capture

    I can not get my scanner to work.  It gives a generic "Scanner reported an error.  An error occurred during scanning" message anytime I try to scan something.   I have tried downloading the drivers from Epson and get the same result.  I am using a 2011 MacBook Pro 15" with Snow Leopard 10.6.7.  Any help would be appreciated.

    For anyone else with this problem (for those who WANT to use Image Capture from Preview)
    The EPSON ICA drive needs to be deleted.
    The ICA driver can be removed by following steps:
    1. Disconnect the scanner
    2. Open following path in Finder
    /Library/Image Capture/Devices/from there (called Epson Scanner.app)
    3. Delete this file.
    4. Plug in your scanner.
    5. Try to scan an image. (after this step it worked for me)
    Others have had to:
    3. Delete this file
    4. Reinstall the old ICA driver for the Epson scanner.
    5. Plug in your scanner.
    6. Try to scan an image.
    And still others have had to:
    3. Delete this file
    4. Reinstall the new ICA driver (listed above) for the Epson scanner.
    5. Plug in your scanner.
    6. Try to scan an image.
    Sorry all. It has been a long day of troubleshooting and trying different things out.
    Good luck. Drop me a line if you want to compare notes.

  • 8600 scanner won't produce scan image after overview performed

    Using 8600 All-inOne with Mac OS 10.9.4:  Problem with scanner--  After scanning overview performed; when I try to scan, I get the message "Done scanning selected areas" and no scanned image has been saved to Documents.  Thanks for help!

    Hi @KateSR , and welcome to the HP Forums!
    I see you are experiencing scan issues.  I would like to help!
    Do these issues occur when making a copy from the scanner glass or feeder, or just when scanning?
    I would recommend performing a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
    Please let me know what you find.  Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Trying to establish Colour Hex Value for edge of image

    Using style no.11 and tinkering with the colour I've created
    a couple of tiles that I can use to display as a background in my
    header and left hand column.
    I need to specify a backgound colour in my Style sheet to
    match the edge of the graphics, but I'm having a bit of trouble
    determining the Hex value of the pixels.
    I've tried looking at the file as a bitmap, but it doesn't
    seem to show hex values in this format.
    I'd be grateful If anyone can suggest the technique required
    for this process.
    Thanks,
    Myles

    Opened the Lemon image file.
    Copied the background layer by dragging it to the little folder icon at the bottom of the layers palette. (I then double-clicked on the name and called it "Image layer" you don't have to, but I like to name layers as a matter of course.)
    Selected the Background layer and filled it with white*.
    Selected the Image layer and added a layer mask by clicking on the little mask icon at the bottom of the layers palette (3rd from left).
    Took the gradient tool and chose black to white (should be the default). Drew the tool across the image to fill the mask (making sure the mask is selected in the layers palette.)
    Voilá!
    You can keep the layered image by doing a "Save for Web" which will prepare the file for the web page.
    *If your web page had a different colour you could use that here.

  • Edge and image sequences

    Can you set a edge element (div) on the stage to play a image sequence? for example a frame animation rendered from AE or other source  If so how?
    If not can you play a video you host on your own site and can it be an element (layer) that you can animate, group, or mask like any other graphic ?
    Thanks

  • Canon 8800F Scanner--How to turn off Image Capture???

    Hi
    I have a Canon 8800F flatbed scanner, I have the latest drivers and latest copy of MP Navigator EX.
    1) The buttons on the front of the scanner don't work.
    2) If Image Capture is open, then MP Navigator EX scanning doesn't work.
    Is there a way to stop Image Capture from trying to use the scanner?
    thanks

    Dave1234567890 wrote:
    1) I tried changing the Scanner Buttons in Image Capture to "MP Navigator EX 1.0 Opener"--that didn't do anything (upon pressing a button, I could tell something launched on my computer, but it didn't open/redirect-to MP Navigator).
    You don't select MP Opener in the menu. You just need this software installed to assist with getting the buttons to function correctly. MP Navigator needs to be selected in the Scan Button menu.
    2) I can get the buttons on the scanner to work if I do the following
    a) set Scanner Buttons to "MP Navigator EX" (not the Opener)
    b) make sure Image Capture is turned off
    c) MP Navigator must be shut down before each button press
    d) Click on "Close Main Menu after Scanning with Scanner Buttons on the Scanner" inside MP
    Okay, a is true. This is what I said to select in my previous reply.
    Regarding b, I find that when using the buttons on my LiDE 200, I don't have an issue if Image Capture is open, but then this application should not be open unless it is opened by you or a setting in the scanner settings.
    Regarding c, I don't have to close MP Navigator for each scan. I can leave the application open and keep adding more documents using the Scan button on the scanner.
    As for d, is this a Preference setting you are seeing in MP Navigator? I don't seem to have this setting...
    3) There is no way to change the setting in Image Capture to ignore the scanner.
    Considering that Image Capture is the default scanning application for 10.6, then it is not an easy task to ignore the scanner. But, if the application is not open, then it will ignore the scanner when you open MP Navigator or use the Scan button, providing you have the Scan Button set to open MP Navigator rather than Image Capture.
    Because of (2) above, you can't do multiple sheet PDFs via the buttons, you have to use the on-screen software to add pages and finish the doc.
    Like I said already, the button is working fine for me to add more than one page into MP Navigator. Maybe the setting you mention at d) is causing your symptom?

  • How to feather edge in image?

    First I used a marquee selection tool to draw around the image.  Then I went to Select>Feather and did what I had to do.  But nothing happened.  I even followed Adobe Help's instructions but nothing happened.  I use PSE8.  Thanks.

    If you just feather, all you've done is feather the edges of the selection, so you won't see any difference. Copy/paste your selection into a new file, or do Select>Inverse, and then press backspace/delete to see the edge.

  • Edge and Images

    All-
    I have a few images I'm using as backgrounds in Edge.  If I assign the hide() function does the computer still process it the image behind the scenes?  I'm trying to maximize the usability of my site so I'd like the graphics to be processed efficiently.  I was thinking that I might have to delete the image upon mouse click and then create it again on another mouse event.  Another idea was to embed the image in another html page and pull it in dynamically

    When you use jQuery's hide() method, then you're essentially setting the display property to off, which actually results in the element no longer being displayed in the DOM. The hide() method is handy to use if you want to reload the element later using show(), or if you just want it not rendered in the browser any more.
    If you truly want to nuke the element from the page, then use the remove() method instead.

  • Edge animation-images are not displayed on my dreamweaver-site

    Hello, could someone please help me?
    My animation, which is inserted into  a Dreamweaver-website, shows no pictures - only text elements when you open the page in the browser. In the live view and preview in the browser the images are displayed but on the Website they are not display. I have already set the file permissions to 777 - but it did not help.
    When i open the Animation without my Dreamweaver-site - only the Animation in the browser the Images are displayed correctly.

    I've just found the error! One file was not uploaded... sorry !  Anyway thanks for the quick reply!!!

  • Fading around edge of images [cs3]

    I've spent a fair bit of time a few times, using the eraser tool and soft brush to `fade' around the edges of photos so they don't appear hard but blend with the background in some smooth way near the edges.
    I'm pretty sure this could be done using some kind of masking.  I don't understand much about masking but wondered if someone might walk me through it, at least in broad outline.
    I'm hoping I could create some kind of mask that could be used over any image of the right size.  So that, if I had a bunch of same sized images I could make one mask and then tranfer the layer to all the pictures.
    I'd like the end result to look something like the quicky sloppy job <ahref="www.jtan.com/~reader/vu/disp.cgi"> <b>HERE</b> </a>
    where the top picture is unedited and I've  used the big soft eraser around the edges of the bottom picture.
    [ NOTE:
    I can't seem to master the new controls on this forum so not sure how to enter a url and make it clickable... one failed attempt above.
    Here is the site to copy and paste: www.jtan.com/~reader/vu/disp.cgi
    Once more usging the insert tool:

    if you are going to save your same sized picture in different names, like pic1, pic2 and so on:
    drag all your pic to your main PSD
    in the layer pallate, select them all
    create folder for them
    ctrl+click on one of the layers
    you get the selection
    select the folder
    hit the create mask, now all your PICs are masked
    select the mask and unlick the link sign
    ctrl+T to control the size of the mask
    feather it or blur it
    thats it , you got one mask for all layers. you can delete, add and do anaything with one mask.
    the idea of the mask is:
    black and white, imagine you are in a dark room. you do not see any thing, since you turn on your tourch you see the ojects that stay under the spot light.
    cheers

  • I am trying to make an Edge Animation work on a CMS. I used "AdobeEdge.loadComposition" to find the .JS file, but it is looking for the images in the "/image" folder. I would like to store the images in another place. Please help me accomplish this.

    Here's the code:
    <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="http://animate.adobe.com/runtime/5.0.1/edge.5.0.1.min.js"></script>
    <style>
        .edgeLoad-EDGE-4084323 { visibility:hidden; }
    </style
    <script>
       AdobeEdge.loadComposition('/media/products/edge_script/channels', 'EDGE-4084323', {
        scaleToFit: "none",
        centerStage: "none",
        minW: "0",
        maxW: "undefined",
        width: "361px",
        height: "268px"
    }, {"dom":{}}, {"dom":{}});
    </script>
    <div align="center">
      <div id="Stage" class="EDGE-4084323">
      </div>
    </div>
    Thank you for your help.

    Ahhhhhh, ok. Figured this one out after digging more.
    Here's the answer from another post. Hope it helps someone!
    If you need to set an absolute folder url, or you are pulling the content from a server that does not host the content, you can manually update the <projectname>_edge.js file to specify the directory:
    (function($, Edge, compId){
    //images folder
    var im='<SERVER/FOLDER>/images/';
    Just beware that if you re-publish the files, you'll need to redo any custom modifications.  I do this for off-server projects and it works very well so long as you make all the changes in each JS file where you need to specify the exact path.
