  • Epson Workforce 325 scanner app will not work.

Recently downloaded Maverick X and now my Epson Workforce 325 scanner app will not work. I have checked for updates through Epson and they say its an Apple problem, but there is none available through Apple.
Do I have to go back to the old Mountain Lion 10.8.5 v software?

You will have no alternative but to wait for Epson to update their drivers to be compatible w/Mavarick.  Why not call them (tech support) or send them an email?

  • [SOLVED] Epson flatbed scanner detected but not working

I have an Epson V330 scanner which used to work with iscan and iscan-data from AUR. Now the scanner is detected correctly by lsusb, sane-find-scanner, and scanimage -L, but if I run
         scanimage > image/pnm
    I get
         sane_start: Invalid argument
xsane brings up the scanner but it gives the same error.
I think the problem may be related to the fact that there is no /dev/scanner0 or anything similar, which I think there should be. I've tried rebooting with the scanner switched on but no result.

Thanks so much - yes, that was it!   I had to reinstall my system last month and I forgot that I'd been caught out by that one previously. Now working.

  • HT3669 I have an Epsom 1250 photo scanner that will not work with my new iMac.  I get an error report indicating 'scanner ot available' and the indicator light on the scanner goes to red.

When I try to use the scanner I get error message 'scanner not available' and the scanner indicator goes red .  I have contacted Epsom who advised me to run System update on my Mac several times which I havedone to no avail.  The scanner is in working order as it works satifactorily with my 'Windows' laptop.  The scanner is listed as being included in the driver updates but It would appear that the driver on my iMac supplied  in any update is not suitable.
I am currently running OSX 10.8.4
What steps should I now persue to be able to use the scanner?
    Alan.

    Howdy Susiesdad,
I would suggest the troubleshooting steps from this article named Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3147
Don't let the name throw you off, the troubleshooting is relevant for scanners as well.
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • My scanner blue is not working how can I get it fix

the message said my sanner blub is to low

    Hi @twilat,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you scanner bulb is to low with your HP Officejet J4680, on Windows 8.1. I am happy to look into this for you!
Some questions for you, if you do not mind:
Are you able to place a sheet of paper on the scanner glass and make a copy of it? Or does the printer provide the same error message?
Is the printer plugged into a surge protector? Or Directly into the wall outlet? Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If you make a copy and lift the scanner lid, do you see the light bulb come on, and the scanner bar moving?
Thank you for posting, and hope to hear from you soon!

  • Brother 9320cw Scanner Function Does Not Work

    Hello All,
I am at my wits end and hope that someone out there may be able to assist me.  I recently purchased the HP Touchsmart 520 and have been unable to get the scanner function on my Brother MFC 9320cw to work (the printer works fine).
I was on with Brother support and we did the following:
    1) Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers - from the download at Brother
    2) Stopped and restarted the WIAAC service
    3) Tried to use the plug and play capability to let Windows find the drivers - windows came back with an 'unknown device' message.
    4) Used the machine with different O/S - windows 7 starter - and it worked just fine.  It also worked fine with my old XP PC.
Brother at that point indicated that it was an issue with the system not recognizing the driver for the scanner and said it was an HP problem.  HP begs to differ and indicated that they would try to solve my problem for $60.  Not going to happen.
So I come to this fine group of people, hat in hand, in the hope that someone can help me resolve the problem.
    Thanks for help,
    Marnia
    Machine:  HP Touchsmart 520
    OS:  Windows 7 Home Premium

    Hello Mariad:
Hp is right not their problem period. Brothers Co. problem yes they are the ones who should be helping you. Here is a link that is the drivers For Windows 7 64bit. computer. http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/us/us/en/dlf/download_index.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en...
Not always the HP wizard can find drivers. I had to manually find and down load my Blue Tooth devie and Samsung  Modus 3500 head set drivers.
The reason it work for your other computers because the software is for 32 bit computers. Please contact Brother Co. ask them to send you Windows 7 64bit. insulation disks if for some unkown reason this dowload fails. HP company does it for free thats with HP Pinters though.
One more company just passing the buck failing to help customers. Nice printer you have I hope it works.

  • Scanner-printer does not work.

I have recently esperienced a computer malfunction and had to have the hard drive formatted.  When I got it back I had to re-install all the software I needed to do the stuff I was doing before the crash.  I installed the software for the printer and the printer and scanner are working, as far as I can tell by the noise they make.  The scan procedure is working properly with regard to the 'preview' and 'scan' features.  However there is nothing coming out on the page.  Both BW and color cartridges are new, (and before you ask, the tapes on the inks have been removed).  Can you give me some help?  Operating system..........Windows 7 Home PremiumProcessor.......................eMachines

Hello ! Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I should be able to lend a helping hand regarding the printer not putting ink on the page.  Does this only happen when you print from the computer?  The first thing I suggest is to perform a Photo Copy on the printer.  This will be a good way to test the hardware in the printer.  If the printer can photo copy then the hardware is functioning correctly and you may be looking at a software related issue.   To print a Photo Copy on the Photosmart C3100: 1.  Place a document face down on the glass2.  Press black or color copy 3. See if anything prints  Let me know how it goes!

  • Canon MP560 Scanner Twain Driver Not Working

I have a Canon MP560 MFP and for some reason the Scanner does not show up in applications like Image Capture or Preview. However, it works fine with Canon's MP Navigator 3.0. I downloaded and installed the latest Canon driver software for that Printer for 10.6 but that didn't seem to make any difference. I have tried turning off the printer and turning it back on. I use it wirelessly only and before the latest Canon printer update it all worked fine. Now it can print fine wirelessly and it can scan wirelessly only if I use Canon's MP Navigator, which I do not prefer to use for simple scanning tasks.
    In Library/CFM Support I have a BJExtDDI.cfm and a TWAIN Source Manager.Shlb file.
What is missing here? This used to work fine.

The scanning via Image Capture or Preview uses the ICA driver. This is included with the [Canon driver update|http://support.apple.com/kb/DL899] available from Apple. The Canon scanner driver supports the scanning via MP Navigator but not Image Capture or Preview and the ICA driver does not support this application.
So it sounds like you have a problem with the ICA driver. This driver package is located in HD > Library > Image Capture > Devices > CanonIJScanner1. You could try installing the [ICA v1.7.0 driver|http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100213301.html] which will update this package.
If that doesn't help then can you confirm if you can see the scanner if you select to add it to Print & Fax. If you select to Add the wireless MP560 should be seen twice in the Default view - first as a Bonjour Scanner and then a bit later as canonijnetwork.
FYI - Another postee found that he was not able to locate the scanner component via wireless, while the printer component was still working fine via wireless.

  • After Froyo Update, Pandora and Police Scanner Apps Do Not Work...

First of all, I truly love my Droid X, it is by far the best phone I have ever owned (Blackberry Storm 2, Blackberry curve, etc.)...
However, since the Froyo OS Update was installed on my phone, 2 of my favorite apps are not functioning properly...
The apps are Pandora and Scanner Radio. Both are radio based applications.
When I open Pandora and attempt to access a radio station, the screen will display, "WE ARE EXPERIENCEING UNEXPECTED TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES"
When I open Scanner Radio and attempt to access a frequency, the screen will display, "UNABLE TO CONNECT"
I have attempted to uninstall/reinstall the application, to restore the phone to factory settings with Verizon's Tech support, to take the battery out, and to do a "hard" restore, all to no avail...
My question is if anyone has experienced similar problems with these apps since the Froyo OS update? Or, has anyone who has these apps on their Droid X since the Froyo OS update been able to use them normally?
They both worked perfectly fine prior to Froyo, and are the latest updated versions...
I would love to hear of any similar experiences, possible solutions, comments, etc.
    Thanks,
    Noah

Well, that does offer some consolation to me... However, I have been browsing various forums (Motorola, Verizon, Droid X Forums, etc.) which discuss technical issues with the Droid X, and have noticed that others with the Droid X have reported no issues with Pandora after Froyo...
I did notice that on pandora's website FAQ section, they did mention issues with the quality post-froyo:
Why am I experiencing audio issues on Froyo?
If you have upgraded to Froyo (Android 2.2), you may notice audio-quality issues while listening to Pandora. The Android team is aware of this issue with AAC+ audio and has released a fix, which is gradually being rolled out on the various Android handsets.
Currently the Sprint HTC EVO and the Google Nexus One have OTA Android OS updates that incorporate this AAC+ audio fix.
If you have a different handset than the two mentioned, please contact the support team for your handset if you have any further questions about this issue.
However, my Droid X will not even play the songs... Although, prior to Froyo, it worked great...
Anyway, I was hoping that someone who has experienced similar issues with their Droid X, might have a solution for the problem...
    * Since my original post, I performed another hard factory reset, only this time I also reformatted my SD Card prior to the reset...
It seems to have resolved the problem temporarily, however I will wait to see if it lasts more than a few days...
    Anyway, thanks for the comment...

  • Trying to install drivers for my scanner, not working

I'm trying to install drivers for a canon scanner, it's not working. I ownloaded them from the canon website and they are for Mac OS 9, would they still work? or do i really have to get a new scanner?

    Hi Anna
Which model of scanner is it? Have you checked thoroughly to see whether OS X drivers exist?

  • My scanner on the MF4370dn will not work with Windows 8 or 8.1.

I have a Canon MF4370dn which the scanner portion has not worked right since I got a computer with windows 8 and will not work at all since I downloaded windows 8.1.
I have reloaded the scanner tools, tried the Presto! PageManager that came with the oomputer. I have downloaded the latest drivers for the scanner from the site.
It worked with Windows 7 fine, but that computer no longer is functional and I use my scanner often.
    Any ideas?

Fixed my own problem by redownloading and installing the Windows 8 (x64) drivers and the toolbox software. Thanks anyway.

  • HP scanner not working after update

After my latest update for my Macbook, my scanner does not show up when I try to scan anything in.  The scanner function will not work with any of my software, including preview.  Any suggestions?

    HI @SMRBAD
    Welcome to the HP forum!
I grasp that after doing an update the fingerprint reader is not working. You have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the SimplePass software and validity sensor driver but to no avail.
Have you updated the chipset driver also?  HP ENVY TouchSmart m7-j120dx Notebook PC Drivers
You can utilize the HP Support Assistant to aid with HP updates.
Here is a link to help you overcome this difficulty.Troubleshooting a Fingerprint Reader (Windows 8)
If the issue should still remain I suggest trying a restore back to a known good date.    Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
Next I would try a Refresh Your PC to Resolve Problems (Windows 8)
If you are still not able to use the fingerprint reader I would do a recovery back to factory.
Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8)
During the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files to prevent data loss.  Now is a good time to do one if you have not done one previously.

  • Canon MP830 scanner does not work with Leopard

    Hi,
I have a Canon MP830. The printer function works fine but the scanner function does not work anymore since I've installed Leopard. From time to time it seems to work, randomly, ... but most of the time, if I use the MP830 navigator software and try to scan in a batch (from the tray), I get an error message saying "Het scannen is mislukt" (dutch for: Scanning process failed).
I hope that Apple and/or Canon are working on updated drivers because this is quite annoying... Plenty of fancy features in Leopard, but the easy, all-day features don't work
This is maybe not the right place to mention this comment but:
After I've installed iCal, it crashes everytime (randomly) when i click on the details of a calendar item... and generates an error message report... I can imagine I am not the only one who has this problem. Never had this before when using Tiger.
    Regards,
    F.

Actually, Canon has been providing various updates throughout the month of November. Go to www.canonusa.com, place your cursor over "downloads" and when a drop down menu is presented, click on "consumer." You might have to be patient, the site has been slow lately. Anyway, click on the pull downs in the middle of the page to select your printer. When the next page is presented, select MAC OS X from the pull down menu and you'll see the drivers and updated applications.
Over the weekend, I purchased an MP610. After performing the installation of files from the CD, I then downloaded and installed drivers and applications and the printer seems to work just fine, to include scanning, copying, etc.
    Hope this helps,
    Jimmy
