Scanning dialog appears behind PSE11

When I scan with my Canoscan 5200F the sanner window opens and remains hidden behind PSE 11 and is inaccesable unless I minimise PSE 11.  When the scanning job is done then I need to maximise PSE 11 again.  This was all done automatically in PSE 9 - when the scanner window open it was on top and when the scanning was done PSE 9 opening with the image to be touched up.  Is there a fix for this PSE 11?  Maybe a bug that still needs to be ironed out.  Also when the edtor open there is a lot of flashing of the PSE 11 opening screen until it all settles down - this is not normal.  I am running Windows 7 with 12 GB RAM.  These little annoyances make we want to stay with PSE 9 eventhough I like the interface better in PSE 11.

You will need to install the TWAIN plugin.
Go to C:\Program Files [Program Files(x86) for 64-bit systems]\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Optional Plug-Ins\Import-Export, find the Adobe TWAIN file, and move it to C:\Program Files [Program Files(x86) for 64-bit systems]\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Locales\en_US\Plug-Ins\Import-Export (the “en_US” part will be different if you aren’t in the US).

  • Dialogs appearing BEHIND Palettes?

    I am running the Photoshop CS5 Extended on MacPro Intel OS 10.6.5
    The last few days I have noticed that "dialogs" (like when applying an Effect) are sometimes appearing BEHIND my Palettes? I have to hit the ENTER key to accept blindly. Any ideas?

    Does turning off OpenGL and restarting the application have any effect on the issue?
    Can you reproduce the issue or does it occur randomly?

  • First dialog appears behind mail window...

    For all of my VP C3PO's, the first time the any dialog or message box
    apprears, it either appears minized or behind the Mail window. Once I
    bring it to the front, all others work fine (until I restart Groupwise).
    Anyone know how to "fix" this?

    You can also pass the handle for your app to the setforegroundwindow
    from the Win32 API (I think that's what it's called)

  • Update available dialog box appears behind app window

    We have an app that checks for an update each time it launches. This has worked quite well until our latest rev, which included an upgrade to Flash Builder 4.0, the 4.0 sdk, and the AIR 2.0 overlay.
    Now the update dialog box appears behind our application window, which means our users are not going to see it.
    Has anyone else seen this problem?
    Our code looks something like this:
            private function initUpdate():void
                appUpdater = new ApplicationUpdaterUI();
                appUpdater.configurationFile = new File("app:/update-config.xml");
                appUpdater.initialize();
                appUpdater.addEventListener(UpdateEvent.INITIALIZED, autoUpdate);
            private function autoUpdate(ev:UpdateEvent):void
                appUpdater.isCheckForUpdateVisible = false;
                appUpdater.checkNow();
                appUpdater.removeEventListener(UpdateEvent.INITIALIZED, autoUpdate);
    Do I need to try to control the order of the windows? Never had to do that before? Or perhaps "delay" the initialization of the appUpdater() by calling it later in the startup process.
    Any other thoughts are appreciated.
    Kevin S.

    Yes, thanks. That's what I did to solve the problem. I inserted a timer and delayed the call to check for updates for .25 of a second, and now the Update Available dialog is appearing on top of the application window.

  • Authorization window appears behind browser

    I work at a school so we are pretty firmly tied under a proxy server which frequently pops up and prompts me to confirm my credentials. No worries with that, I enter my deets and I'm good to go. What I've noticed now, is that after some amount of time a different window 'pops up' behind my browser window and I can't select it or use it, I can't even see it unless I move my browser window out of the way! Quitting Safari makes the window disappear, but it invariably reappears at some point, which I can;t pinpoint because it's 'behind' the browser window i'm using...
    Argh - uploading screen shot seems to not work here under the proxy server - I'll do it at home I guess?
    Hopefully someone knows why there are 2 different 'authorization' windows and why the second one seems to do nothing but sit behind the broswr and annoy me

    Hi
    The issue Linc Davis is referring to is different, it's about recurring proxy dialogs, happening all the time, whether or not Safari is open, that arise from system level processes that want to get to the internet but don't know how to access the user's keychain.  That particular problem can be fixed.
    The issue you describe, and describe very well, only happens when Safari is open behind a proxy server and only when it tries to open *some* kinds of videos.
    I've seen it myself, and it only happens behind a proxy server at work, and never from home.
    You try to open a page, then suddenly the page becomes unresponsive.  You then discover, if you move Safari's main window out of the way, a proxy login dialog to some strange remote proxy server, always *behind* Safari and never in front.  You can't make it go frontward with Safari.  The proxy server URL is shown, and it is not anything like your local proxy server.  It appears to be a proxy system from the video provider itself; I'm guessing that it is usually automatically completed somehow, but when you are behind some other proxy server, this dialog gets 'stuck'.
    I've found, like you, that even if you move Safari's main window out of the way, you can't close this proxy dialog by clicking on the red LED at top left, and it's impossible to guess what should go there (definitely *not* your local proxy log and pass).  Safari then becomes useless.
    You can wait for it to time out - takes a minute I think - but typically I quit Safari.
    It only happens when the page has an auto-loading video on it, and it only happens with certain proxy servers.
    At the moment, I have no solution, other than to quit Safari, however the problem can be minimised if you block auto-play of video by whatever means works best for you.  I haven't really carefully looked at Console logs etc so I can't pinpoint the problem.
    I do know that our particular work proxy server has this issue, but not for YouTube video.  They allow open access to YouTube, and there is no issue with YouTube.  But other streaming video servers must go through the local proxy server, and it is these in which the bizarre proxy dialog appears.
    I get the impression that this issue, like the other one Linc mentions, only happen with particular proxy server configurations.
    I'm sorry I can't help any more.  I don't know if 10.9.4 helps yet.
    Cheers
    Chris.

  • Called form appears behind calling form

    Hello All,
    I’ve got three forms dep_list, dep_edit, dic_list
    Dep_list is main, from this I’m calling dep_edit
    OPEN_FORM(:global.path||'DEP_EDIT.FMX',ACTIVATE,SESSION);
    From dep_edit I’m calling dic_list
    OPEN_FORM(:global.patch||'DIC_LIST.FMX',ACTIVATE,SESSION);
    Dic_list appears behind dep_edit. I can’t find a way to set dec_list to appear in the front. All the rest of the forms in my application works correctly. I’ve checked all the settings and I can’t find way to set it correctly. How can I achieve that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards

    Check the properties of the window in DEP_EDIT if either Modal is set to Yes or style is set to Dialog.
    btw...
    OPEN_FORM(:global.path||'DEP_EDIT.FMX',ACTIVATE,SESSION);
    You should'nt include the path in your forms-calls. Leave this to the forms-configuration and simple do a
    OPEN_FORM('DEP_EDIT',ACTIVATE,SESSION);

  • JavaScript Menus Appear Behind Flash

    I am creating a page with a flash file embedded below a
    navigation bar with drop-down menus. The nav bar was created in
    Fireworks and imported. The problem is that the drop downs are
    appearing BEHIND the embedded Flash file so you can't see them. I
    have been looking all over for a solution to this without much
    success. If anyone has any ideas I would be appreciative if you
    share them.
    Regards,
    Andy

    All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so
    to speak,
    including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and
    Active X controls.
    This means that each of these will poke through layers. There
    is not a good
    cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but
    if you can be
    confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can
    use the Flash
    wmode parameter (however, Safari does not support this
    properly!).

  • Is there a fix for modal dialogs opening behind palettes -cs6 -osx 10.6.8

    Is there a fix for modal dialogs open behind palettes in
    Photoshop cs6 13.0 (createive cloud update) + OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on MacBook Pro?
    ( I am using 2 monitors where the second monitor is set to be the menu display.  cs4 does not exhibit this bug. )
    Toggling the Application Frame off improves the hiding 'feature' but this does not include the desired continuous floating in front of palettes in all circumstances.
    An example is Blending Options, then chose Stroke, then chose the Color Picker.  After clicking OK, the Blending Options dialog now sits behind the palettes.  One trick is to click on another app, then back to cs6 to force a window redraw.
    It sure would help me if this could be solved.  I am preparing educational videos and this display bug makes things very troublesome.
    Thanks for any help.  If I find a solution, I will post to this thread so everyone can benefit.

    The setting for the graphics check box Does Not make a difference.  If I have a new document window open, then add a layer, then open the blending options > drop shadow > edit the color > the chooser dialog opens, and immediately both dialog windows drop behind the palettes AND any document windows.
    The same behavior for the Preferences dialog > guides > color.
    The quick workaround is to click another app, then back to CS6.  A real pain, of course.
    It is only a factor when opening a second (child) dialog box.
    Other CS6 apps do work correctly (eg. FW AE)
    I have yet to get a handle on this.  Mac OSX 10.6.8    CS6 13.0  x64
    Thanks for your replies, and the long reply time for me was a vaction away from the office.

  • When trying to save a file, no file dialog appears

    The last 2 weeks, often when I want to save a file --- any file, eg an image, I right-click "save image as" and then wait for a file dialog to ask where to save, then nothing, no matter how long I wait.
    If I exit Firefox and restart it it may work normally for a while, i.e., the dialog appears, but soon the same problem comes back. This is of course infuriating when you have gone through some tedious procedure, typed a captcha, a password, etc, etc before a website allows you to save a file.
    The other r-click options work -- I can open a file with an application, I can even use "DownThem All", but Firefox's own save dialog is unusable.
    Firefox 27.01 on XP

    You can check it DTA or another extension isn't causing this problem.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
    *Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • No Save As dialog appearing in 3D Toolkit

    Hi!
    When I right click a 3D annotation in Acrobat 3D v8 I can choose "Edit in 3D toolkit". Once there, I make some changes to the model and want to save it as a new u3d file. So I choose Save as from the file menu and the "Export Properties of Universal 3D Export" dialog appears but there is no option where to save the file.
    Is it not possible or am I missing something?
    /Joachim W

    It doesn't provide a SaveAs... dialog for an unnamed file.
    Here is a workaround:
    As soon as you bring the model into the 3D toolkit, click Save As..., saving it to the temp directory.
    Then load the temp file into the 3D toolkit.
    Click Save As... now and you will be able to save the u3d file anywhere you like.

  • Prevent File Save Dialog appearing?

    I have been using Excel 2010 to create Word Documents and then use .SaveAs to save the newly created file without any issues
    When I moved to Office 2013 the same code now presents a File Save dialog box.
    I have researched the issue and can find no way to prevent the Dialog appearing (and worse regardless of the user selection the Excel code crashes)
    The following is a simplified version of the troublesome code
    Sub TestWordSaveAs2()
    Dim InvoiceProFormaFileName As Variant
    Dim NewFileName As String
    Dim WordApplication As Object
    Dim WordDoc As Object
      ' Prompt for a word document
      InvoiceProFormaFileName = Application.GetOpenFilename(FileFilter:="Word Documents, *.docx", Title:="Any Word File", MultiSelect:=False)
      Set WordApplication = CreateObject("Word.Application")
      Set WordDoc = WordApplication.Documents.Open(InvoiceProFormaFileName) ' Open the pro-forma invoice
      ' Create a new name
      NewFileName = Replace(InvoiceProFormaFileName, ".docx", "2.docx")
      WordDoc.SaveAs2 Filename:=NewFileName, FileFormat:=16, AddtoRecentFiles:=False ' <======= this line Shows the File Save Dialog and then fails
      WordDoc.Close SaveChanges:=0 ' wdDoNotSaveChanges
      ' Finished with the Word Application so can close
      WordApplication.Quit
    End Sub
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
    I have create a doc file and a excel file in my pc, after I run the code you have provided ,and choose the doc file I just created, it runs without any save dialog. And My Office is Pro Plus 2013 .
    I have upload my sample to OneDrive, you can download it here:
    http://1drv.ms/1DhnMe5
    When you run this sample, will this show the save dialog again ?
    To narrow down this issue, can you create a new empty word and choose it in the excel, does it will happen again? if it is convenient, can you share the doc file you're using? Have you update your office ?

  • Spry Vertical Submenu Bar Appears Behind iFrame

    In IE and Chrome, the Spry vertical submenu bar appears properly on every page of the website, except for the one page that has iframes.
    In IE, the submenus appear behind the iFrames
    In Chrome, the submenus appear in front of the iFrames but with an incomplete border
    In Firefox and Safari, the submenus appear as they should (in front of the iframes and with a complete border)
    I've scoured this forum and tried several fixes that seemed to work for others with slightly different conditions but didn't work for mine.
    I've included my SpryMenuBarVertical.css for referece; if you can offer a fix for this particular issue, I'd be forever grateful. Thank you!

    All of a sudden, since last night, an intermittently flashing black battery appears behind one of the menu bar icons. Unfortunately, I don't know what the original icon means!
